Nygren, Nathanlie January 2016 (has links)
The aquaponic system includes cultivation of fish and vegetables in a cycle with circulating water. A closed system with circulating water is not possible to certify ecological according to the EU regulations, EG 889/2008. This causes a problem for the aquaponic producer who has a non-toxic production that is not possible to certify. The aim with this study is to find out if there is any alternative environmental values for an aquaponic and how the delivery can be done in the most environmental sustainable way. Results from the survey for consumers and persons in the restaurant branch show that environmental certification and quality are valued high. There is also a high demand for locally produced products. There is a higher demand for ecological fish than vegetables that has a higher demand for local production. Such a production requires that the consumer knows how the production is done since a local produced product does not necessarily mean that it its environmental sustainable. The buying power of the fish is affected more negatively than it is for vegetables if it is not environmental certified according to the consumers. The people in the branch of restaurants do however see local production and certification as equally important. The aquaponic producer has an opportunity to distribute the products locally based on the survey results. Would the producer have a transparent work and further enable environmental sustainability aspects in their business, the transport to the customer becomes an important factor. How the products will be delivered to be the most environmentally sustainable depends on location. The delivery method that provides good opportunities for relationship building between supplier and customer risk to be what leads to the most energy demand. While the delivery method that reduces the contact between the parties in many cases leads to minimum energy consumption. What determines transport energy consumption is the means of transport, how much is transported, the fuel use and the distance. Not all principles of sustainability be met in full regardless of vehicles, but the minimization of impact can be selected. /
2016-06-29

La dynamique des plantes à parfum : réseaux et territoires : En région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur et en Méditerranée occidentale / Dynamic of raw materials for perfume manufactury : networks and territories in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and in western mediterranean

Monge, Romain 15 April 2013 (has links)
This thesis aims to study raw materials for perfume manufactury's cluster in western Mediterranean and focuses on its ability to enhance natural resources. Over the last decade, natural substances are attracting growing interest from both perfumes and cosmetics manufacturers and consumers, in a context that favoured sustainable development. They also enhance territorial matters such as landscapes, industrial technology, local practices. Furthermore, actors's network ensure the competitiveness of each productive system, as regards new environmental standards. This “network effect” generates economic and cultural externalities ; then, we hypothesize that these externalities generated by the productive systems of western Mediterranean may be vectors of innovation. In order to show the dynamics and the relationships which link the actors of the cluster, and symbolizing the core of territories's dynamics, the thesis focuses on a comparative approach in relying on the concepts of productive system, innovative “milieu” and cultural economy. It also borrows elements of heritage and landscape analysis. The study concerns five countries of western Mediterranean in which we selected representative samples : the french region Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, cradle of industrial perfume, the Mediterranean coast of Spain and the Madrid-Murcia axis, the Rabat-Fez axis and the Dades Valley in Morocco, Cap Bon in Tunisia, and the italian region of Calabria. Then, this study provides refections on interregional cooperation in a Mediterranean approach.

Utopia? Alguns assim a julgarÃo. / The development model adopted in Brazil, and especially in the State of CearÃ, is still far from being the effective solution to the problems accumulated along centuries of social, economical, political and cultural colonization. Instead, it is the main cause of the bad income distribution occurring in our country. Therefore, it is necessary to make a new reflection on the real meaning of development, by starting with the understanding of the local potentialities and needs of a certain region. This is the concept of integrated and sustainable local development. To apply that concept, it is necessary to change the focus of the current economical approach from the capitalist traditional vision, whose essence is only the economic growth, to a new humanitarian vision concerning the economic activity. That is the solidarity economy, in which the focus is the human development. Being a concept still under construction, the solidarity economy reflects, through its principles, the need for combining efforts in a view opposite to the competition among human beings. Is it a utopia? Some will judge it like that. Others will believe and engage in it, believing that it is possible to construct a new society, a fairer and fraternal one, overcoming the current socio, economical, political and cultural context of Brazil. One the ways to operationalize the endogenous local development is to organize the economic activity of small rural producers through local production systems so as to make them subject of their own histories. Based on that principle, the present work consists of a case study in the municipal district of QuixadÃ, in the central countryside of Cearà State. The objective was to formulate a development strategy based on policies that contribute to the development of precarious and underdeveloped areas, using as strategy the development of local solidarity production systems formed of local actors based on their potentialities and the local resources.

The importance of the agribusiness in the Brazilian economy has justified the wide discussion on forms of promoting the invigoration of the sector. The technological evolution of agriculture in the world and, in particular in Brazil, has induced the accomplishment of changes in the structure and in Agro industrial operation, resulting in a new organizational dynamic based on some key factors as specialization and flexibility. Those factors have been inducing the search for forms of productive organizations that favor the increase of competitiveness under the point of view of efficiency and of productive effectiveness, that is, to offer a product in the amount and in the quality disputed, and at the right moment. On the other hand, the development of agribusiness has also been seen under another angle, other than that addressing the economic growth purely. The need to understand and to minimize the present socioeconomic disparities in the Brazilian territory, has been guiding actions of development of agribusiness in the sense of seeking the satisfaction of economic and social factors present in each territory. For such, the social and cultural characteristics start to have greater influence in the detailing of actions of economical invigoration of a given territory. Thus, this work seeks to investigate theoretical approaches and practical cases associated to the concept of Local System of Production, based on the organization of productive activities based on proximity economies and on the interaction logic. For such, the methodology used incorporates the method of study of multiple cases and the techniques of direct and indirect documentation, and intense direct observation. This work proposes a model of development of the competitiveness of local systems of production, especially based on agribusiness. The model identifies factors relevant to the competitiveness of these systems, resulting from the interaction between factors of organizacional, institucional and social-cultural order present in the local environment. The results extend the knowledge of the social-economical dynamics of these types of productive systems, identifying the importance of the human capital and of the institutional capital in the development of the competitiveness of the local companies, especially those which are small sized, and in the economic and social growth of the territory, under the perspective of sustainable development.

Les modes d'interaction pour une dynamique territoriale soutenable : un apport à l'écologie territoriale / Coordination for a sustainable territorial governance : a contribution to the territorial ecology

Debuisson, Marion 24 October 2014 (has links)
In the middle of an ecological and socio-economic imbalance context, strategies and policies are designed at different institutional levels. The objective is to move towards a model of sustainable development. Studying the metabolism allows us to know, partially, the way a territory works according to different flows of materials and energy. However, this knowledge about the ecological consequences of a territory, is hardly set in relation to major societal issues and different roles involved during these exchanges. Working towards a global rebalancing, is a question of ensuring compliance with the principles of fairness, justice and freedom answering the basic needs of actors. The construction of a collective interest appears as an answer to define and to implement sustainability policies, which are territorial and global issues. One of the hypothesis is that the modes of interaction of cooperative behaviors help and promote the construction of the collective interest. The purpose of this work is to try to understand how a metabolism study could be mobilized to participate in a process of territorial sustainable construction. The research is based on the work in the field accomplished all over "ANR Villes Durables Confluent Project" as well as on alimentary supply chain
