”Slå ihop eländet!” : En kvantitativ undersökning av sportens utveckling i tidningarna Arbetarbladet, Gefle Dagblad, Länstidningen Östersund & Östersunds–Posten

Petersson, Max, Åsgård, Olof January 2013 (has links)

Proos, Marie-Louise January 2013 (has links)

Enefalk, Tobias January 2010 (has links)
Abstract Title: The Sweden Democrat is coming! – A quantitative study of the framing of the Sweden Democrats in the local press during the month of the parliamentary election in 2010 (Sverigedemokraten kommer! – En kvantitativ studie av hur Sverigedemokraterna gestaltades i lokalpressen under månaden för riksdagsvalet 2010) Number of pages: 41 (42 including enclosures) Author: Tobias Enefalk Tutor: Amelie Hössjer Course: Media and Communication Studies C Period: Autumn 2010 University: Division of Media and Communication, Department of Informatics and Media, Uppsala University Purpose/Aim: This essay seeks to study how the Swedish political party the Sweden Democrats was framed in Swedish local press during the month of the parliamentary election in 2010. The study is based upon eight local newspapers located in the municipalities where the voting result for the Sweden Democrats increased the most and the least. Material/Method: The material consists of 263 articles from eight different local newspapers gathered from the month of September 2010 (the month of the election). Using a quantitative content analysis and a cluster analysis inspired by Matthes & Kohring, a comparison of the framing is made between the different newspapers. The results of this comparison are then analyzed and discussed by applying theories of political communication, media logic and framing. Main results: The results show that some similarities and some differences occur regarding the framing of the Sweden Democrats between the different newspapers. A neutral frame of the party’s policies and the result of the election was common in all of the newspaper. This frame was, however, somewhat more salient in the newspapers where the party increased the most. While the group of newspapers where the party increased the least tended to criticize the Sweden Democrats to a higher extent, the moral evaluations in the other group of newspapers differed and also tended to criticize other parties to a higher extent. Regarding the treatment of the party in terms of bias no major differences could be distinguished. Keywords: Framing, The Sweden Democrats, media logic, political communication, local press, quantitative content analysis.

All PR är god PR?

Persson, Dennis January 2009 (has links)
Research question: What role does media play in that xenophobic political parties becomes successful or not? Cohan explains it as:“The press may not be successful much of the time in telling people what to think, but it is stunningly successful in telling its readers what to think about.” According to this, researchers argue that media creates a supply factor by merely bring attention to certain phenomenon. To this background, it is reasonable to suspect that media, merely bringing attention to the Sweden Democrats, has brought visibility anf attention to the party that could be essential for the Sweden Democrats success. research question for this study is: How does the local media-coverage of the Sweden Democrats have a role in the party’s success, in a municipality where the party is successful compared to a municipality where the political support is weaker? Purpose: The purpose of this study is, before the elections for the municipal council in 1998, 2002 and 2006, systematically review the local press media-coverage of the Sweden Democrats in Karlskrona, a municipality where the Sweden Democrats are successful and Växjö, a municipality where the party is not as much successful. Method: To fulfill my purpose of this study, I studied all articles concerning the Sweden Democrats before a few months before the elections of 1998, 2002 and 2006 in Smålandsposten and Blekinge Läns Tidning. The articles were then reviewed systematically and then later categorized through certain categories. This contributed to what had been written about the Sweden Democrats. Conclusions: The hypothesis that media, unaware, has created a foundation for the success of the Sweden Democrats has been confirmed to some extent in this study. The media coverage the Sweden Democrats was not as frequent as it was when the party began to have political success. Local media’s focus in their articles about the Sweden Democrats differs from a strong municipality for the Sweden Democrats to a municipality with weaker support.. This study has also shown that in municipalities that have weak support for the Sweden Democrats tend to stigmatize the party more than in a municipality that is strong for the Sweden Democrats. However as this study has shown is that stigmatization of the Sweden Democrats has not slown down their success. Quite the opposite, it has gained their success

Winberg, Alexandra, Forssell Ehrlich, Gunnel January 2012 (has links)
2 (45)AbstractAuthors: Gunnel Forssell Ehrlich & Alexandra WinbergTitle: Gender in local press – a quantitative study of four local newspapers Level: BA Thesis in Media and Communication StudiesLocation: Linnaeus UniversityLanguage: SwedishNumber of pages: 50The report shows a quantitative study of balance in gender and position of power in the local press. The study aimed to shed light on the distribution of space in the newspaper between men and women, those within power and those without in Swedish local press. The study was conducted with four newspapers, during a month of time with local editorial news material. In our study, we have assumed Lippmann’s and Strömbäck’s theories of pseudo-reality and distribution of gender and position of power in Sahlstrand and Jarlbro. The study showed slightly better results in the gender balance than previous research have shown. Local press gives more room for non-in power than previous research suggests.

Opinionen i pressen under kommunsammanläggningen 1968-1974 : Medias rapportering om lokala motsättningar emellan centrum och periferi under kommunblocksreformen i Årjängs kommunblock. / Opinion in the press during the municipal reform 1968-1974 : Media's reporting on local contradictions between the center and theperiphery during the municipal reform in Årjäng's municipal block.

Wiig Pettersson, Henrik January 2020 (has links)
The government has in several steps decided about municipal mergers during the 20thcentury. In many places the mergers provided the basis for a local conflict. This conflict wasnot always easy to resolve and lives in many places remain in today's municipal issues. Amulti-tiered municipality tends to create local contradictions between what constitutes thecentral core and the other locality or territories in the municipal territory, it looks like they arein the municipality's periphery. The municipal reforms that were implemented tended tocreate conflicts of softer values, the sense of belonging within the municipality and what isreferred to as local identity is a sensitive issue when the independence of a small municipalityis absorbed by another, often bigger, municipal unit which in short term reduced the civicinfluence.Municipal mergers or similar mergers of legally governing territory have been conducted inmany European countries and, above all, municipal mergers have been conducted in theNordic countries which has had similar structures. The results vary, as does the population'sview of these reforms. The municipal merges that have been done had been a consequence ofurbanization and a tool to ensure the legal security and taxation of the state. Decisions on themergers were made in various referral bodies and were based on demographic conditions andforecasts. The soft values that the citizens felt before a merger were resolved at the local levelin the municipal. The press provided a platform and a forum where discussion could take place in the form ofsubmitter columns and interviews. Local rulers and opinion leaders used this channel toinfluence and urge the public to take a stand on important local issues. How frequent was thepublication about the municipal assembly and what views were expressed in block 10,Årjäng? In this study, I have analyzed the magazines' notices regarding the municipalassembly in the selected geographical area. I have reviewed the reports that were published innational and local press to find out what came to the public´s notice, as well as how opinionleaders expressed themselves during the municipal block reform. As expected, the localnewspaper contributed more opinions in the form of submissions and more news articles thanthe national newspapers. The purpose of the text and media analysis was to find out who wrote, for example, asubmitter and partly what the writer wanted to convey or form opinion on. In my work, Ihave used the receiver-oriented strategy as a tool for analyzing the press's published newsreporting and opinion columns. The strategy is based on three components that must be takeninto account when analyzing a text - Who deals with the text, what aspects should be studiedand addressees as actors in specific positions. The study of the text and the content of thenewspapers gave an insight into what caught the interest of the inhabitants and what thepublic considered important in the municipal assembly. For this specific study, the surveymaterial is limited to focus only on the municipalities within the municipal block of Årjäng.

Svensson, Emil, Aziz, Yama January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the future of the Swedish newspaper industry. A special interest is taken in local newspapers and its distinguishing features. Our aim is to achieve a better understanding of the development of the Swedish newspaper in light of the looming threath of the death of newspapers. Will print media survive or is the industry forced to a migration to digital platforms? How are newspapers affected by this structural change in an advertisement-driven market? We performed a small case study on Norrtelje Tidning in addition to a historical study of the Swedish newspaper industry. Two-sided market theory was utilized in combination with a model describing actors, activities and resources in a network. This theoretical framework provided an overview of the prevailing market for newspapers, advertisers, and customers which facilitated further analysis of the intricate relations between these groups. The results reveal that the future for print media looks grim, however the uniqueness of content of local newspapers will probably ensure its survival in one form or the other for the foreseeable future.

The climate issue that was pushed away : A quantitative and qualitative analysis of environmental journalism in Swedish local press and national press.

Granberg, Emilia, Lindgren, Jonatan January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine the differences and similarities between how Swedish national press and Swedish local press cover the two topics climate and environment. To fulfill this aim the study strived to answer the questions: How much does Swedish local press and Swedish national press write about environmental issues and climate issues? What differences and similarities can be found in the way that Swedish national press and Swedish local press frame environmental issues and climate issues? The study contains both a quantitative analysis and a qualitative analysis. This was done to show both how much was written about environmental issues and climate issues in the analyzed newspapers, but also to examine in what way the newspapers framed environmental issues and climate issues in their articles. The most remarkable result of the study is that only about every fiftieth article deals with environmental and climate issues. This corresponds to 2.2 percent of the newspaper's content. The study shows that Swedish local press contains more articles focused on environmental issues and climate issues, but the Swedish national press frames environmental issues and climate issues as more important news. The result of the study shows that the Swedish newspapers in general tends to put a big part of the blame for the climate changes on the ordinary Swedish citizens. The study also shows that Swedish media uses people and cities as role models to provoke changes and actions towards a better environment.
