THE USE OF AN IRIG-106 CHAPTER 10 RECORDER AS A TELEMETRY SYSTEM

Berdugo, Albert 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2007 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-Third Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 22-25, 2007 / Riviera Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / IRIG-106 Chapter 10 has become the recording standard for most of the new flight test programs and many of the current ongoing programs. The primary goal of the standard was to define a common format for recording 100% bulk data such as PCM, MIL-STD-1553 busses, Video/Audio, ARINC-429, Ethernet, IEEE-1394, Analog Data, and others. In most cases the standard has provided the instrumentation engineers and the data analysts with a recording solution that meets their needs. Many programs require transmission of safety of flight data from a subset of the data acquired by the recorder. This may include selected video/audio channels, selected avionics bus data, and others. This requirement presents a dilemma to the flight test engineer who must duplicate part of the system for telemetry. This paper discusses several applications in which the IRIG-106 Chapter 10 recorder can be used as a telemetry system. It will include the transmission of bulk MIL-STD-1553 data per IRIG-106 Chapter 8, transmission of multiple Video/Audio and PCM data channels, and transmission of selected avionics data per IRIG-106 Chapter 4.

Thornberry, Lewis, Lake, Phyllis, Lawrence, Ben-z 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 27-30, 1997 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / This paper presents the Mission Integrated Decommutation and Analysis System (MIDAS), a multi-threaded, multi-processing application developed in Microsoft Visual C++ for Windows NT by the Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC) Eglin AFB, Florida. The primary function of MIDAS is to support post-test processing of instrumentation data by decommutating, logging, and reporting MIL-STD-1553B or pulse code modulated (PCM) encoded data extracted from MARS-II digital tape recordings. MIDAS processes multiple data streams from a single recording, and can process multiple recordings in parallel. MIDAS also serves as a diagnostics tool for investigating data processing anomalies reported during normal production runs. MIDAS is part of an integrated suite of applications developed to provide AFDTC development test and operational test customers with quickly delivered, high-quality data products. Software development is underway to support the processing of Digital Data Acquisition and On-Board Recording Standard (DDAS) packetized telemetry data. DDAS is derived from the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS) standard. [MARS-II is the digital acquisition and recording system supported by MIDAS. MARS-II was developed by DATATAPE, Incorporated, Pasadena, California. It records up to 20 gigabytes of mission data across as many as eight channels of MIL-STD-1553B or PCM encoded data. Digital recording technology provides an alternative to traditional analogbased telemetry ground systems.]

CAPS: AN EGLIN RANGE STANDARD FOR PC-BASED TELEMETRY DATA REDUCTION

Thomas, Tim 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 21, 2002 / Town & Country Hotel and Conference Center, San Diego, California / A need exists to provide a flexible data reduction tool that minimizes software development costs and reduces analysis time for telemetry data. The Common Airborne Processing System (CAPS), developed by the Freeman Computer Sciences Center at Eglin AFB, Florida, provides a generalpurpose data reduction capability for digitally recorded data on a PC. Data from virtually any kind of MIL-STD-1553 message or Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) frame can be extracted and converted to engineering units using a parameter dictionary that describes the data format. The extracted data can then be written to a file, ASCII or binary, with a great deal of flexibility in the output format. CAPS has become the standard for digitally recorded data reduction on a PC at Eglin. New features, such as composing derived parameters using mathematical expressions, are being added to CAPS to make it an even more productive data reduction tool. This paper provides a conceptual overview of the CAPS version 2.3 software.

MIK, what are the boundaries? : A study of media and Information literacy in relation to youth culture and the extended school environment.

Clive, Dean January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this study was to observe how, and if, the concept of Media and Information Literacy (Medie-och informationskunnighet in Swedish) was used in the extended school environment. In Swedish primary schools, 21stcentury skills, such as critical thinking, are beginning to be implemented, butis that also the case with the fritidshem? In this study, I have used fiveobservations to examine the situation at a specific school that has a vision ofsustainability and focus of extensively working with information andcommunication technologies. Would this school break down the boundaries, andstatus divide, that often exist between school and fritidshem?

Erdtman, Paramaporn January 2016 (has links)
Abstract Title: Media and Information Literacy (MIL) in kindergarten: A phenomenological study of preschool teachers' perceptions, competencies and preconditions for the introduction of media information literacy (MIL) in preschool. Author: Paramaporn Erdtman Instructor: Janne Kontio Autumn Term 2016 Various studies have shown that there has been a great increase in the use of digital media for children of all ages, especially children of preschool age. A need for skills and knowledge in how we as educators should be able to help children manage digital media and information has become essential. In 2011, UNESCO presented the concept of media information literacy or MIL, which is a collective concept of media literacy and information literacy in a network society. According to state media council, MIL is a tool to enhance understanding and critical abilities and to manage the problems that will arise in everyday media. Such skills are essential in order for children to be able to exercise both their rights and their responsibilities in a democratic society. The purpose of this study is to examine the different conditions that exist amongst pre-school teachers which will help in introducing media - information literacy in the preschool context. The study is based on a quantitative method, i.e. survey and qualitative interviews. The study is aimed toward preschool teachers who have worked with digital tools in preschool. The result shows that there are positive opportunities for working with MIL in preschool. Preschool teachers have some understanding of the concepts of media and information literacy are about. Preschool teachers consider themselves to have the most of the important skills in order to bring MIL into the preschool. The result also indicates that children need more opportunities to create and communicate in intercultural dialogues and critical discussions with the help of digital media. Early childhood educators approach to children's use of digital media and information is a prerequisite to MIL's implementation in preschool. Early childhood educators are in favor of working with MIL's main points which they have already implemented in the preschool.

Estudo do motor de indução linear utilizado como posicionador e simulações computacionais / not available

Martins Filho, Geraldo Macias 24 April 2003 (has links)
Since the rotating machines had been idealized, the Linear Induction Motor (LIM) has been researched and, along the time, new technologies are being developed in order to improve it. Many academic works were accomplished in several research centers and universities around the world. In Brazil, the first ones to study it with scientific approach were Professors Morency Arouca and Délio Pereira Guerrini, in the early 70\'s. Even nowadays, works are seldom developed, and most of them are dedicated to simulation of the LIM or obtaining of parameters of specific LIM\'s. The present work has as objective to study the mathematical and theoretical modeling, which will be used as basis in order to study and understand the LIM and to propose an application: the LIM fed by Frequency Inverter, used in order to obtain positioning, with simulation of specific control systems.

A \'crise\' do poder público em Regino de Prüm e Raul Glaber (séculos IX-XI) / Public power crisis in Regino of Prüm and Rodulfus Glaber (IX-XI centuries)

Bengozi, Bruna Giovana 12 July 2016 (has links)
Historiography had used crisis as one of the main to explain the events happened in Europe from 980 to 1060, period called Year 1000. According to those historians, after the end of the Carolingian Empire, the crisis would have been installed in Europe. Among several transformations, it would have led to the privatization of public power and to dominion of \"landlords\", those who exercised his power from the collection of taxes, services and violence, elements that formed the paradigm of \"feudal mutation\". The purpose of this dissertation is to analyse two historical writings, the Chronicle (Chronicon) , written between 900 and 908 by Regino, abbot of Prüm, in Lotharingia; and The Five Books of Histories (Historiarum Liber Quinque), by the monk Rodulfus Glaber, written between 1016 and 1046, in Burgundy. Therefore, we will seek to discuss whether the quoted sources support the idea of a public power crisis during that time.

Rumo ao pavilhão da eternidade: Nūruddīn e Šamsunnahār na literatura amorosa abássida / Towards the Pavilion of Eternity: Nūruddīn and Šamsunnahār in the erotic Abbasid literature

Secco, Pedro Ivo Dias 13 March 2017 (has links)
The Book of the Thousand and One Nights, in the way it is written in its oldest group of manuscripts, the Syrian branch, is composed as a big compendium of erotic Arabic stories, in its majority. The scenes found in those stories, which are almost always explicit, reveal very sensual women, owners of desired bodies, and men who desire those bodies, and who are, almost always, betrayed by those women. However, one story in special contrasts from the others in this carnal universe of the Nights: the story of \"Nūruddīn ͨ Alī Bin Bakkār and Šamsunnahār\". The love described in this narrative approaches the divine and ineffable love, and its descriptions, always imprecise, reveal the difficulty of describing a love, which is so distant from the body and its desires. But, the narrative of the two lovers is not a highlight only in this book: in the whole erotic tradition to which it belongs (the Abbasid love, between the IX and X centuries), this story shows itself as a unique one. The present dissertation aims to analyse these highlights of the narrative of \"Nūruddīn ͨ Alī Bin Bakkār and Šamsunnahār\" in its contexts: first, inside the Book of the Thousand and One Nights and, after that, inside the erotic Abbasid literature. We do it by comparing the story of the two lovers to all the other erotic narratives of the Nights, demonstrating all the substantial differences among them. Besides that, we draw a map of the whole erotic Abbasid literary tradition, demonstrating how Nūruddīn and Šamsunnahār have nothing in common with the other Abbasid lovers, described in the erotic stories of that time. At the end of the dissertation, by enumerating and analysing carefully those characteristics of highlight, we approach the narrative of the two lovers to other works, contemporary to it, which declare themselves to be platonic. By doing that, we situate the story of Nūruddīn and Šamsunnahār in a very small and not studied group of Arabic medieval works: the group, which shares similar characteristics with the platonic and neoplatonic works.
