No. of bitstreams: 1 DissTFS.pdf: 2160160 bytes, checksum: 83d7d7ac92f0a270750a6b42154b95df (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-02-29 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) / Different instruments meet the criteria of the Manual Diagnostic and Statistical of Mental Disorders (DSM) for the diagnosis of Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) have been used by researchers. Among them, the most recognized and employed questionnaire today for screening is the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ), a questionnaire for parents developed in Canada. This was translated and adapted to Brazilian culture, however its scoring system was not standardized for Brazilian children. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of the questionnaire to a group of children aged 8, 9 and 10 years using as gold standard the Movement Assessment Battery for Children Test (Mabc-2) engine test also identify the cutoff point for each specific age and correlate the scores of both tests between gender and between economic classes. It is a descriptive study transversal - exploratory, with a quantitative approach. The participants were 100 children enrolled in the municipal school system of Rio Claro -SP, where had their motor skills evaluated using the DCDQ-Brazil and Mabc-2, and their socioeconomic conditions verified by Criterion Brazil. The data collected were subjected to statistical analysis of association and the cutoff set by the Youden index and Roc curve (Receiver Operator Characteristic). The results reveal the DCDQ-Brazil does not have satisfactory validity to the Brazilian context analyzed in the sample at the ages of 8 and 10 years the ages of 8 and 10 years, with its higher cutoff points the cutoff points defined in this study, in a proportion ranging 4-7 points. Also found, contrary to what area of the studies show, girls and boys do not have significant difference when evaluated in DCDQ-Brazil and Mabc-2, and no association between the results of the instruments and the socioeconomic classification of participants was detected, suggesting socioeconomic status does not imply engine performance and incidence of DCD. It was possible to ascertain the use of Mabc-2 instruments and DCDQ-Brazil together enables check for data favor the evaluation of the specificity and sensitivity of DCDQ-Brazil for a group of children aged 8 and 10 years. For future research it is suggested further data on the age of 9 years to use the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire form adapted to Brazilian children between 8 to 10 years promoting the early identification process of the DCD.

Fonologisk utveckling hos 4- och 5-åringar : En normering av uttalstestet Bedömning Av Fonologi (B.A.F.)

Olson, Nanna, Ulander, Mathilda January 2017 (has links)
Children with pronunciation difficulties are at risk of consequences later on, such as reading and writing difficulties. Problems with pronunciation could make a child less intelligible and affect their ability to discriminate between different speech sounds. To facilitate the assessment of pronunciation difficulties it is necessary to use appropriate and updated assessment tools suitable to analyze the children’s phonological development. The Swedish pronunciation test, Bedömning Av Fonologi (B.A.F.), has therefore been developed. This new test can be used by professionals to evaluate the phonological realisations of children. The purpose of this study was to gather normative data of 4 and 5 year olds for B.A.F. and to investigate if girls and boys performed differently concerning the pronunciation of the words in B.A.F. Furthermore, the intention was to investigate if there was any correlation in the performance of the words in B.A.F. with oral motor precision (by oral motor movements tasks), oral motor speed (by repeating syllables) as well as auditory perception (by repetition of nonwords). 63 children (36 girls and 27 boys) in the ages of 48 to 71 months participated in the study. The results showed that by using B.A.F. it is possible to see that the number of correctly pronounced words increases with age. Further, the results indicated that children in the ages of four and five had established /p, t, k, d, f, v, j, h, l, m, n/ and /ŋ/ and all the vocals except /y:/ and /Y/. The only speech sound that did not prove to be established was /r/. Neither the 4 nor the 5 year olds had established consonant clusters containing /r/. A significant correlation was found between oral motor speed and correctly pronounced words in B.A.F. The children’s auditory perception also correlated with the number of correctly pronounced words in B.A.F. This study suggests that skills concerning auditory perception and oral motor speed have more effect on pronunciation skills than oral motor precision. The results gave no indication of a difference in pronunciation between girls and boys. Under analysen delades barnen in i grupper av halvårsintervall. Även barnens auditiva perception korrelerade signifikant med antal korrekt uttalade ord i B.A.F.

Benešová, Daniela, Lange, Uwe, Oelze, Janine, Salcman, Václav, Schulz, Henry, Schuster, Simone, Valach, Petr January 2014 (has links)
V souladu s touto problematikou zároveň klesá i úroveň motorických schopností a dovedností, což představuje citelné omezení dětského vývoje, fyzické i psychické komponenty. Cílem vědeckých týmů Západočeské Univerzity v Plzni a Technické Univerzity Chemnitz je v rámci pilotní studie pod názvem „Přeshraniční srovnávací analýza motorických schopností dětí mladšího školního věku“ stanovit a porovnat aktuální zdravotní situaci školáků v České republice a Německu. / The increased sedentary lifestyle of children and adolescents in industrialized countries has evolved into a public health problem over the past decades. In addition, the declining level of motor abilities and skills draws impairment of children development on physical and psychological level, with appropriate follow-up costs for the health systems of countries. Scientists at the University of West Bohemia Pilsen and the Chemnitz University of Technology have for this reason the goal to investigate and to contrast the health situation of children starting school in the Czech Republic and in Germany with the pilot study "Cross-border comparative analysis of the motor skills of children of younger school age".

Kleschnitzki, Jana Marina 02 January 2024 (has links)
Aging population is amongst the biggest societal challenges of the future of all industrial nations. These challenges can be faced by technological measures as Serious Games with have a big potential in preventing and promoting health, just as benefiting from the key role of mobility as a preemptive effective measure. This dissertation is first committed to give an overview of the condition of elderly people in German nursing contexts. It will then evaluate the potentials of a serious game for health-promotion of elderly people plus the influence of the pandemic and in order to derive recommendations for future studies. The study design evaluates a Serious Game for the promotion of physical, cognitive and psychological competencies, beginning with 1000 elderly people in 100 nursing facilities in Germany over the course of one year by means of an IG and CG. The implementation of the study unveiled discrepancies, so that following investigations, RCT-designs, clear drop-out-regulations and differentiated measuring instruments are recommended. The descriptive analysis of elderly people in nursing homes states a literature driven image of their specific constitution which is characterized by a big variance and an interactive multidimensionality of their main constitutions. The sample, which was very diminished due to the Corona-pandemic, showed first tendentially positive changes within the measured cognitive values (MMST) as well as in the motor values (Tinetti-Test) compared to the CG, whereas the influence of the isolation measures leveled this development, which suggests that the pandemic-restrictions had a crucial impact on motor skills of the participants. This result is consistent with the current research which attributes great potential to serious games as a preventive measure in standard care and for the necessary activation of those in need of care - given that those games are evaluated in a high-qualitative manner and are played regularly and long term.
