The Impact of MALL on English Grammar Learning / MALL:s påverkan på engelsk grammatikinlärning

Johansson, Elina, Cukalevska, Marija January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this paper was to explore how grammar learning in the English as a second or foreign language classroom can be improved. Our aim was twofold: (1) to investigate the possible effect of implementing Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) on students’ grammar learning in the Swedish upper secondary level education, and (2) to find out what students’ attitudes are towards such an implementation and how it can impact student motivation. We analyzed and provided an overview of ten articles relating to the subject. The results showed that the use of MALL contributed to improved grammar learning when it was used as a tool to help students analyze and reflect upon specific exercises collaboratively and to help individuals do grammar exercises and tests with a formative purpose. However, the results also showed that MALL was not beneficial if only used as an educational or communicative tool. Lastly, the results showed that students overall had a positive attitude towards the use of MALL in education, despite experiencing some technical difficulties, and that the approach further motivated students’ will to learn. Based on the results, we argued that the use of MALL in the English language classroom coincided well with the guidelines of the curriculum and syllabus for English 5, and that, if used as recommended, MALL could help improve Swedish students’ English grammar learning and their motivation.

Spiralformer, då och i nutid

Larsson, Staffan January 2021 (has links)
In this study I investigate different manufacturing methods for spirals and column shafts with twisted flutings. Starting with methods and templates of manufacturing from the 18th century, take them further and adapt to use of a plunge router with a template. I make a 3D CAD -models for the templates and I make 3D CAD model of the column shafts with twisted flutes. I ask a manufacture using a CNC producing a column shaft with twisted flutes and compare with manufacturing by using a template together with a plunge router. The router turns out faster and gives a better result than the CNC technology that I have had the opportunity to compare with.

Saesan, Paul, Lebeda, David January 2005 (has links)
The property owners' strategies for shopping centers - A comparative study of two shopping centers. In Sweden there are a constantly increasing number of shopping centers, which proportionally increases the competition for customers. To meet escalating competition and customer demands, shopping centers have begun diversifying, some quite extensively. The purpose of our study is to examine how the concept affects the design and structure of two different shopping centers in Malmö, Triangelns Köpcentrum and Gallerian Storgatan. We shall also examine how this diversification affects the profile and marketing strategies of these two shopping centers depending on which target groups they aim to obtain. The shopping center owners target different customer groups depending on marketing strategies. Managers try to strengthen their images toward the right customer groups through the use of attractive marketing and profiling policies. Using a correct mixture of tenants creates a harmonic feeling throughout the shopping center and this plays an important roll in attracting the desired customer groups.Gallerian Storgatan wants to attract a smaller target group of customers and therefore has a limited product range, while Triangelns Köpcentrum that wants to attract a larger customer group and therefore has a larger product range. The range of tenants in a shopping center and the placement of shops, cafés and restaurants are strongly influenced by the managers different structuring and design ideas. With this under consideration, we can conclude that the managers are trying to create their own unique concept and profile.

Klimatdata som mervärde i leverans till kunden : En parameterstyrd mall i Revit / Providing climate data as an additional customer value : A parameter study in Revit

Potrus, Sara, Youssef, Berta January 2021 (has links)
The construction industry contributes to a large part of emissions and for that particular reason a new law about climate declarations will be enforced from the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning. Climate declarations present emissions for building materials, building parts or even for a complete building.  Climate data computed in climate declarations are based on life–cycle assessments (LCA). LCA describes environmental impacts which material has during its whole lifespan, from “cradle to grave”. An environmental product declaration (EPD) presents results from a life–cycle assessment in a more compressed matter.  Meanwhile the interest in sustainability increases, the automation within the construction industry continues, as well as various programs, which are being developed to obtain sustainability data. Construction companies do not usually present information containing climate data in their construction documents, therefore Geosigma Konstruktion aims to offer this information to its customers. This information can be provided by making one of BIM’s software programs – Revit more efficient and as well as integrating it with sustainability.  The purpose of this thesis is to generate climate data from a parametrically driven template, this can offer an additional value to the customers. This climate data displays values of emissions in a schedule format for framing materials. The schedules are created in the Revit program and are categorised after materials’ strength class, profiles, types and building parts within building constructions. A survey is also conducted and sent out to Geosigma Konstruktion's customers, in order to answer the questions in this study.  The results of this study show that the parametrically driven template with climate data will provide additional value for the customers. Furthermore, this template can be used as a basis while determining the structural framing.

Meetings

Nienstedt, Uwe January 1987 (has links)
The thesis consists of two parts: The introduction states a rationale for the making of Architecture by defining its final and subsidiary goals and identifying the importance of ‘judgement’ and the concept of ‘order’ as operational means. The project attempts to apply the theory on three different scales: object, building and urban. This part of the book is structure around the theme of ‘meetings’, the enjoyment of two entities coming together and in various ways interacting and redefining each other architecturally. / Master of Architecture

Design Guidelines for a Mobile-Enabled Language Learning System Supporting the Development of ESP Listening Skills

Palalas, Agnieszka 08 May 2012 (has links)
This dissertation presents, describes and discusses an interdisciplinary study which investigated the design and development of a language learning instructional solution to address the problem of inadequate aural skills acquisition for college ESP (English for Special Purposes) students. Specifically, it focused on the use of mobile technology to expand learning beyond the classroom. The eighteen-month process of data collection and analysis resulted in a conceptual model and design principles for a Mobile-Enabled Language Learning (MELL) solution. Mobile-Enabled Language Learning Eco-System was thus designed, developed and trialled in the real-life learning context. Through the iterative process of the design, development and evaluation of the MELL system and its components, design principles were also generated. These design recommendations were refined and reformulated in a cyclical fashion with the help of more than 100 students and ten experts. The resulting MELLES design framework encompasses guidelines addressing the essential characteristics of the desired MELL intervention as well as procedures recommended to operationalize those features. The study also resulted in a better understanding of the broader context of ESP learning using mobile devices and the role of elements of environment, ultimately contributing to real-life praxis of the Ecological Constructivist framework and the complementary approach of Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology. / 2012-06

La fabrication plurielle de centralités dans la périphérie de Constantine : le cas de la ville nouvelle Ali Mendjeli / The plural fabrication of centralities in the periphery of Constantine : the case of the new town Ali Mendjeli

Lakehal, Ahcène 23 May 2013 (has links)
The city of Constantine (Algeria) has been known for several decades a considerable urban sprawl of its urban peripheries. This urban sprawl has given birth to the New Town ALi Mendjeli. This is one of the man theaters of territorial dynamics of the periphery of Constantine. Creating its establishment only by the local authorities was difficults and it took nearly ten years to make its development reaches its cruising speed. This thesis analyzes the fabric of New Town, and the respective roles of public and private actors in the development of its centrality. If the impulse departure was indeed the work of the political responsables, relayed by urbain planners to their services, the actors’ system was rapidly complexified due to the tradors strategies and pratices of residents (ordinary city, today, the combined action of all these actors, have invented to “Ali Mendjeli” new froms of urbanity.
