Esporte e religião no imaginário da Grécia Antiga / SPORT AND RELIGION IN THE IMAGINARY OF ANCIENT GREECE

Raoni Perrucci Toledo Machado 26 September 2006 (has links)
In the Ancient Greece, the sportive practice, before being seen as pedagogical object, was a form of cultural transmission, had sacred character and looked for to celebrate the honor of the gods. Independently of the reasons of the creation of these events - the Public Games, certain were that predominated its religious way, and as such, for the participants a series of norms was imposed. With the time, the Games of Olympia had started to gain greater importance until arriving at the point of being the central event of all the Greek culture, the wars were interrupted and a lot of people went directed to Olympia to appreciate the Olympics Games. They were in these occasions that the new heroes were known, the moment where the man arrived more close to gods, searching his transcendence. With the time, the religious condition was being supplanted for the spectacle properly said, reaching its peak soon after the beginning of the Roman domain, and almost immediate decline. This work has as objective to make a reflection of the reasons that made the olds rituals to become the great Games, supported mainly in the mythology. We will search to argue the reasons that had taken the Greek people the so great dither front to that it was, perhaps, the most important social manifestation of all the times

Damm, Camila Goos. January 2019 (has links)
Abstract: In the group of Welsh legends called The Mabinogion (XIV-XV centuries) are found stories that relate to the pagan past of the Celtic tribes that inhabited Great Britain, registered and modified after the process of Christianisation and the influence of medieval aesthetics. This dissertation analyses three of its prominent female characters that probably once had divine status, Rhiannon, Aranrhod and Blodeuwedd, considering both the characteristics of Celtic culture and the study of the archetypes in Jungian perspective. Through these analyses, concepts and interpretations for the sacred feminine, the construction of female's social inferiority and the part myhts and art can play at the revision and reconstruction of this identity are discussed, dialoguing with feminist studies. / Mestre

Zacharias, Maria Alice. January 2017 (has links)
Thus, it is hoped that African mythology, articulated with school content, will enable learners to better understand scientific concepts, when they depart from oral histories produced by human kind to explain the creation of the world; our existence and the cycles of nature; life and death and other themes. In this way, a bibliographical research was carried out, followed by a critical and reflexive analysis on the subjects in question and, later, following the same scientific rigor an educational activity was applied in a fifth year classroom of the education of youths and adults of the night period. The results of the analysis of the researches showed that the insertion of the African mythology in the school environment is potentiating the process of learning the scientific contents; from the moment in which the students of the EJA can understand the articulation between the metaphor and the scientific knowledge during the participation in the development of the educative activities. The results have brought important elements, since they show the need for a more in-depth study of the metaphors contained in African myths, since it is not always possible to make this articulation with ease. The research evidenced the need for more research and reading by the teachers so that the articulation between the scientific content and the metaphor is perceptible during the application of the activities, consequently, so that the students themselves can interact and dialogue about the scientific content and potentialize the Learn / Mestre

For Nietzsche, pre-Homeric Greeks were near annihilation of their lives due to the realization of their unmeasured impulses and the Apollonian Greeks would fall into excess measure contradictory to their own Delphic precepts. While the Dionysian impulses allow the full expression of the desires of each person thereby precluding living together in society, the Apollonian impulses would create social representations and state but inhibited the immediate consummation of pleasure and suffering of ancient Greek. The problem is evidenced in how it would be possible to affirm the full life without it would inhibit or annihilate. From the analysis of Nietzsche about Greek antiquity, the hypothesis that permeates this work is that the tragedy result of this problematic as a subtle measure of ecstasy arising from pre-Homeric and Homeric period that are elucidated from interpretations of Nietzschean the mythic tradition of Apollo and Dionysus in the Birth of Tragedy.

R. R. Tolkien. For this way, we take on bases for this research theory of Joseph Campbell about the mythic adventure, besides the authors who discuss the myth in the past and nowdays. The dissertation, therefore, is structured in four chapters, covering the theory of myth, his stay in the present and mythic adventure, to subsequently apply to the heroes Siegfried and Frodo, their works cited. It is concluded that the mythical adventure is different to both, but it shows the man trying to always improve their situation at all, in search of success.
