Novostavba hotelu ve Valašském Meziříčí / New Building hotel in Valasske MeziriciPasztorek, Martin Unknown Date (has links)
This master’s thesis addresses the design concept of the new hotel building located in Valašské Meziříčí, a town located in the Zlín region of the Czech Republic. The hotel building consists of a total of 21 accommodation units, a restaurant, and a cafe. The accommodation units vary from double rooms and triple rooms to three-person apartments with a kitchen – providing an accommodation capacity of a total of 47 guests. The hotel is designed as a building with a cellar that consists of one underground and four above-ground floors. The parking spaces for guests and employees are located on the ground floor together with technical equipment such as ventilation systems and utility rooms. The first floor is divided into two parts – the hotel’s operational space and the guest’s section. These two parts are structurally divided with a separate access entrance leading to each part. The operational part consists of facilities for employees, kitchens with food storage rooms, and hotel management offices. The guest area is comprised of an entrance hall with a reception, a restaurant, and sanitary facilities. On the second floor, there is a cafe with a terrace, storage for bedding, a hotel lounge as well as seven accommodation units oriented to the southwest. The third floor consists of a freely accessible terrace, bedding storage, and a lounge. There are also another seven accommodation units with balconies and a two-person apartment with a kitchen. Apart from another the bedding storage and the lounge room, the fourth floor also has two two-room apartments with a kitchen and a balcony for three people. There are also four more accommodation units with a balcony that can house 2-3 people. The thermal insulation of the building is solved by the external thermal insulation composite system, internationally referred to by the abbreviation ETICS. The basalt wool insulation facade panels is used as the main thermal insulator on the external walls of the entire building.

Nodes 2.0 : Enabling informal meeting situations in a contemporary office environmentKällström, Malin January 2023 (has links)
The contemporary office environment is facing new type of challanges both when it comes to be an attractive place for employees and an efficiant, as well as an econommic sustainable space from an employer's perspective. The rapid change of of hybrid ways of working is creating more remote contact with with the physical office. Research points out that there could be social consequences connected to this. This thesis sees the contemporary office as a potential space for enabling contacts between people, normaly not meeting, being in their personal sphere. The thesis introduces findings connected to research in the field of spatial and urban design as well as architecture, developing a spatial guideline, in how to enable those situations in an office environment. With help of literature as well as expertise in the field, and an observation of an activity-based office environment different themes is deceted and presented. The outcome of used methods is captured with analyses connected to the connected themes. Concrete examples in how to enable social contact situations and support informal meetings is visualized in a spatial guideline.

From Cubicles to Collaboration : A study on the Transformation of Government Office Spaces Driven by Cost-Efficiency, Digitalization, and Modernization / Från kuber till samarbete : En studie om omvandlingen av statliga kontorslokaler driven av kostnadseffektivitet, digitalisering och moderniseringGhaemi Flores, Sara January 2023 (has links)
Over time, the office spaces of authorities have evolved, with external influences like pandemics accelerating the transition towards flexible, activity-based workplaces. Despite resistance, attitudes are slowly becoming positive towards modern, adaptable offices. This transformation is driven by value creation, efficiency improvements, market condition shifts, and changing norms within public and private sectors. The office space design within authorities has transitioned from reflecting organizational hierarchies to open office spaces. Optimal space requirement has become complex due to flexible work arrangements. Sustainability is a guiding principle in office space design, highlighting social trends shaping institutional norms and practices. The increasing demand for security within authorities presents a conflict between maintaining openness for citizens and ensuring information security. Security and confidentiality have become influential factors affecting work methods, digital tool utilization, and physical premise design. The Swedish government's digitalization ambition significantly influences authorities' work processes and organizational structures. With remote work adoption and reduced business travel, authorities offering flexible work solutions are seen as attractive employers. Geographical location remains important, with central places like Stockholm's main station still considered desirable. Despite that, A key trend is authorities choosing locations in Solna and Sundbyberg over central Stockholm, adapting to market conditions with surging rents.

Multifunctional building Jocelyn is set in earlier studies on the proposed urban site Jeselských barracks in Brno, bounded by streets Štefánikova, Staňkova and new streets stretching Roast. The concept of construction within the meaning of form and function is strictly subordinate to his place near the city center. Economically advantageous feature object representing housing, shops, cafes, restaurants, offices, underground parking. The building is divided vertically into two zones: commercial and residential. The dominant number twelve floors is derived from a corner position of the object. Hanging the height of the building directing urban streets rasterization, creating public spaces of different levels. The material object is perforated for convenient access, views and culture connected with the proposed use of the adjacent park. The building is designed as a monolithic skeleton on bored piles with a facade of facework. Ceiling structure consists of a monolithic reinforced concrete slab ceiling with integrated cooling and heating of rooms tempered by the reinforced concrete core.

Alternative health care in the 1990's: the influence of legal constraints on the locational behavior of acupuncturists, chiropractors, and homeopathsBaer, Leonard 11 May 2010 (has links)
This study showed that state laws and policies constrain the locational preferences of alternative health care providers to varying degrees, depending on the particular profession and level of legal status. Three separate surveys were conducted, focusing on acupuncturists, chiropractors and homeopaths in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and the District of Columbia. The acupuncture findings revealed intraprofessional divisions that lead to a strong influence of legal constraints on the locational behavior of non-MD acupuncturists. Results from the chiropractic survey reflected an established profession with a less pronounced, but moderate, influence of state laws and policies on location and mobility. The homeopathy findings, while based on a much smaller sample, did not reveal a strong relationship between legal constraints and spatial characteristics, except in the extreme case of North Carolina's recent prohibition. This study also postulated a model to explain the progression of alternative health care professions toward legitimation. The variables of public acceptance and legal constraints on location were plotted on the model to identify particular levels of progression. The importance of this research is highlighted by impending health care reforms, the need for access to professional health services, skyrocketing biomedical costs, and the documented utilization of alternative health care in this country. / Master of Science

Jesus Christ's substitutionary death : an attempt to reconcile two divergent Seventh-Day Adventist teachingsMwale, Emmanuel 11 1900 (has links)
At the incarnation, Jesus Christ assumed the fallen human nature that He found. Having lived a life of perfect obedience in the fallen human flesh that He assumed, He voluntarily and willingly bore the sins of the entire human race and died the second death for, and in our place; thereby paying the penalty for sin. Jesus Christ bore our sins (acts or behaviours) vicariously, while sin as nature or a law residing in the fallen human flesh that He assumed was condemned in that flesh and received eternal destruction on the cross. Thus, on the cross, in Christ, God saved the entire humanity. On the cross, the condemnation that the entire humanity had received by being genetically linked to Adam was reversed in Christ. Thus, the entire human race stands legally justified. But this is a gift, which can either be received or rejected. Therefore, salvation is not automatic. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. Th. (Systematic Theology)

The sufficiency of Christ in Africa : a christological challenge from African traditional religionsBanda, Collium 00 December 1900 (has links)
The sufficiency of Jesus Christ in the African Church is challenged by the widespread spiritual insecurity in African Christians, prompting them to hold on to ATR. The wholistic securing power of ATR challenges the sufficiency Christ's salvation to Africans. Proposing African Christological motifs alone is inadequate to induce confidence upon Christ. The African worldview must further be transformed inline with the implications of the victory of the Cross over Satan. Indeed, Christ has fully liberated African Christians from Satan's authority, placed them in his kingdom, and transformed them into a glorious state. However, because of the Fall, salvation, before the eschaton can never result in the utopian order envisioned in ATR. Suffering does not necessarily indicate satanic harassment. It is a fact of the fallen world. African Christians stand secured in Christ; therefore, they must hold on to their faith. / Systematic Theology and Theological Ethics / M.Th. (Systematic Theology)

Theories of atonement and the development of soteriological paradigms : implications of a pentecostal appropriation of the Christus Victor modelHouse, Sean David 11 1900 (has links)
Atonement theories have great implications for the soteriological paradigms
associated with them, but their significance has not always been recognized in the
formulation of theological systems, the lack of dogmatic definition by ecumenical
council encouraging diversification and isolation from other doctrinal loci. The
strongest coherence between an atonement model and soteriology can be seen in the
reformed tradition, and its theory of penal substitution has become the standard
accepted by many non-reformed protestant groups, including classical pentecostalism.
Tensions persist in the theological system of pentecostalism because of its pairing of
penal substitution with the soteriological paradigm of its foundational symbol of faith,
the full gospel of Jesus as savior, sanctifier, baptizer with the Spirit, healer, and
coming king. This vision of salvation is broader than that of protestant orthodoxy,
which through its atonement theory deleteriously separates the death of Christ from
his work in life and strictly limits the subjects and nature of salvation, specifically to
addressal of elect individuals’ sins. It is proposed that this tension within the
pentecostal system be relieved not through a reduction of its soteriology but a
retrieval of the Christus victor model, the atonement theory of the ancient and Eastern
church. As reintroduced to the Western church by G. Aulén, this model interprets the
saving work of Christ along two lines: recapitulation, the summing up and saving of
humanity via the incarnation, and ransom, the deliverance of humanity from the
hostile powers holding it in bondage. In a contemporary, pentecostal appropriation of
this model, aid is taken from K. Barth’s concept of nothingness to partially
demythologize the cosmic conflict of the Bible, and pentecostalism reinvigorates the
Eastern paradigm of salvation as theosis or Christification via the expectation of the
replication of Christ’s ministry in the Christian. The study shows Christus victor can
give a more stable base for a broader soteriology that is concerned with the holistic
renewal of the human person. To demonstrate the developed model’s vigor and
applicability beyond pentecostalism, the study closes by bringing it into conversation
with the concerns of three contemporary theological movements. / Philosophy & Systematic Theology / D. Th. (Systematic Theology)
