Engagerat ledarskap är grunden till att skapa en god kvalitetskultur och för attlyckas krävs medarbetarskapets delaktighet. Forskare menar att stödet förnärvarande ledare i vården har fram tills idag varit tämligen outvecklat. Syftetmed denna studie var att förstå framgångsfaktorer för hur kvalitetskulturen isvensk sjukvård kan kopplas mot ledarnas möjlighet att främja ett gottmedarbetarskap. Detta utifrån en förklarande sekventiell mixad metod med tvåkvantitativa mätningar som slutligen resulterade i en kvalitativ intervju. Enmätning av kvalitetskulturen vid svenska sjukhus utfördes utifrån ett tidigareframtaget mätinstrument för att mäta kvalitetskultur. Mätinstrumentetpresenterades genom 13 beteendepar som främjar respektive hindrar enkvalitetskultur. Denna mätning visade att det idag råder en generellt godkvalitetskultur vid svenska sjukhus. Genom denna mätning kunde enregressionsanalys utföras som kopplades samman mot sjukhusens resultat iNationell patientenkät. Ett statistiskt signifikant beteende kunde uppmätassom enligt denna mätning skapar nöjdare patienter ju mer medarbetarnaupplever att detta beteende förekommer i deras organisation. Beteendet ärnär vi har ett problem tar vi reda på grundorsaken innan vi beslutar om enlösning. Detta beteende togs med till två framgångsrika sjukhus för att djupareförstå hur dessa arbetar med medarbetarskapet i just detta beteende. Utifrånworkshop med dessa två sjukhus är slutsatsen att ledare behöver ha erfaritden kvalitetskultur och det medarbetarskap de ska bära för att främja ettmedarbetarskap som kopplats samman med kvalitetskulturen. I jakten på attnå framgång är en stark kvalitetskultur eftersträvansvärd men utifrånworkshoparna ser författarna ingen möjlig snabb lösning för att nå dit.Resultatet visar att dagens ledare i vården behöver stöd i form av mentor ellerreflektion kring ledarskap själv eller i grupp för att utvecklas. I konstruktiv andaär det med förbättringskunskap i grunden som allas delaktighet i arbetet medständiga förbättringar bedrivs. Detta kräver allas reflektion, ärlighet, mod,öppenhet och förtroende där allt grundar sig i att alla vill varandras väl! / Committed leadership is the foundation for creating a good quality culture andto succeed, the participation of employees is required. Researchers argue thatsupport for the current leaders in healthcare has until now been ratherundeveloped. The purpose of this study was to understand how the qualityculture in Swedish healthcare can be linked to the leaders' ability to promotegood co-workership. This study was based on an explanatory sequentialmixed method with two quantitative measurements that ultimately resulted in aqualitative interview. A measurement of the quality culture at Swedishhospitals was taken based on a previously developed instrument formeasuring quality culture . The measuring instrument comprises 13behavioral pairs that promote or hinder a quality culture. This measure showsthat there is generally a good quality culture at Swedish hospitals at present.Through this measurement, a regression analysis was done which links to thehospital's results in the National Patient Survey. A statistically significantbehavior was observed, and according to this measurement, is likely to createmore satisfied patients as more professions feel that this behavior occurs intheir organization. The behaviour in question can be described as: when wehave a problem, we find out the root cause before we decide on a solution.This behavior was brought into two successful hospitals in order to understandmore deeply how they work with the co-workership in this particular behavior.Based on the workshop with these two hospitals, we conclude that leadersneed to have experienced the quality culture and the co-workership they areassumed to carry in order to promote an employee culture that is linked to thequality culture. In pursuit of success, a strong quality culture is desirable, butbased on the workshops, the authors see no possible quick solution to reachit. The result shows that today's leaders in healthcare need support in the formof a mentor or time for reflection on leadership on their own or in groups inorder to develop. Ultracapacitor/Battery Hybrid Energy Storage Systems for Electric Vehicles

This thesis deals with the design of Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) for Light Electric Vehicles (LEV) and EVs. More specifically, a tri-mode high-efficiency non-isolated half-bridge converter is developed for the LEV based HESS applications. A 2 kW, 100 V interleaved two-phase converter prototype was implemented. The peak efficiency of 97.5% and a minimum efficiency of 88% over the full load range are achieved. Furthermore, a power-mix optimizer utilizing the real-time Global Positioning System (GPS) data for the EV based HESS is proposed. For a specific design, it is shown that at the cost of less than 1.5% of the overall energy savings, the proposed scheme reduces the peak battery charge and discharge rates by 76% and 47%, respectively. A 30 kW bi-directional dc-dc converter is also designed and implemented for future deployment of the designed HESS into a prototype EV, known as A2B.

Development and Implementation of Rotorcraft Preliminary Design Methodology using Multidisciplinary Design Optimization

A formal framework is developed and implemented in this research for preliminary rotorcraft design using IPPD methodology. All the technical aspects of design are considered including the vehicle engineering, dynamic analysis, stability and control, aerodynamic performance, propulsion, transmission design, weight and balance, noise analysis and economic analysis. The design loop starts with a detailed analysis of requirements. A baseline is selected and upgrade targets are identified depending on the mission requirements. An Overall Evaluation Criterion (OEC) is developed that is used to measure the goodness of the design or to compare the design with competitors. The requirements analysis and baseline upgrade targets lead to the initial sizing and performance estimation of the new design. The digital information is then passed to disciplinary experts. This is where the detailed disciplinary analyses are performed. Information is transferred from one discipline to another as the design loop is iterated. To coordinate all the disciplines in the product development cycle, Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO) techniques e.g. All At Once (AAO) and Collaborative Optimization (CO) are suggested. The methodology is implemented on a Light Turbine Training Helicopter (LTTH) design. Detailed disciplinary analyses are integrated through a common platform for efficient and centralized transfer of design information from one discipline to another in a collaborative manner. Several disciplinary and system level optimization problems are solved. After all the constraints of a multidisciplinary problem have been satisfied and an optimal design has been obtained, it is compared with the initial baseline, using the earlier developed OEC, to measure the level of improvement achieved. Finally a digital preliminary design is proposed. The proposed design methodology provides an automated design framework, facilitates parallel design by removing disciplinary interdependency, current and updated information is made available to all disciplines at all times of the design through a central collaborative repository, overall design time is reduced and an optimized design is achieved.

Automatic Storage Optimization of Arrays Affine Loop Nests

Efficient memory usage is crucial for data-intensive applications as a smaller memory footprint ensures better cache performance and allows one to run a larger problem size given a axed amount of main memory. The solutions found by existing techniques for automatic storage optimization for arrays in a new loop-nests, which minimize the storage requirements for the arrays, are often far from good or optimal and could even miss nearly all storage optimization potential. In this work, we present a new automatic storage optimization framework and techniques that can be used to achieve intra-array as well as inter-array storage reuse within a new loop-nests with a pre-determined schedule. Over the last two decades, several heuristics have been developed for achieving complex transformations of a new loop-nests using the polyhedral model. However, there are no comparably strong heuristics for tackling the problem of automatic memory footprint optimization. We tackle the problem of storage optimization for arrays by formulating it as one of ending the right storage partitioning hyperplanes: each storage partition corresponds to a single storage location. Statement-wise storage partitioning hyperplanes are determined that partition a unit end global array space so that values with overlapping live ranges are not mapped to the same partition. Our integrated heuristic for exploiting intra-array as well as inter-array reuse opportunities is driven by a fourfold objective function that not only minimizes the dimensionality and storage requirements of arrays required for each high-level statement, but also maximizes inter-statement storage reuse. We built an automatic polyhedral storage optimizer called SMO using our storage partitioning approach. Storage reduction factors and other results we report from SMO demon-strate the e activeness of our approach on several benchmarks drawn from the domains of image processing, stencil computations, high-performance computing, and the class of tiled codes in general. The reductions in storage requirement over previous approaches range from a constant factor to asymptotic in the loop blocking factor or array extents { the latter being a dramatic improvement for practical purposes. As an incidental and related topic, we also studied the problem of polyhedral compilation of graphical data programs. While polyhedral techniques for program transformation are now used in several proprietary and open source compilers, most of the research on poly-herald compilation has focused on imperative languages such as C, where the computation is species in terms of statements with zero or more nested loops and other control structures around them. Graphical data ow languages, where there is no notion of statements or a schedule specifying their relative execution order, have so far not been studied using a powerful transformation or optimization approach. The execution semantics and ref-eventual transparency of data ow languages impose a di errant set of challenges. In this work, we attempt to bridge this gap by presenting techniques that can be used to extract polyhedral representation from data ow programs and to synthesize them from their equivalent polyhedral representation. We then describe Polyglot, a framework for automatic transformation of data ow programs that we built using our techniques and other popular research tools such as Clan and Pluto. For the purpose of experimental evaluation, we used our tools to compile LabVIEW, one of the most widely used data ow programming languages. Results show that data ow programs transformed using our framework are able to outperform those compiled otherwise by up to a factor of seventeen, with a mean speed-up of 2.30 while running on an 8-core Intel system.

Elektromagnetická analýza a modelování asynchronního stroje s plným rotorem / Electromagnetic analysis and modeling of a solid rotor induction machine

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá elektromagnetickou analýzou a modelováním asynchronního stroje s plným rotorem. Tato práce tedy zahrnuje literární rešerši na téma vysokootáčkových elektrických strojů s porovnáním s klasickými elektrickými stroji s převodovkou a popisem jejich výhod či nevýhod, rozdělení vysokootáčkových elektrických strojů s plnými rotory a srovnání jejich výhod či nevýhod, kde se tato práce nejvíce soustřeďuje na vysokootáčkové asynchronní stroje s plnými rotory a jejich použití v průmyslu. Dále se tato práce zabývá metodami výpočtu elektrických asynchronních strojů s plnými rotory. Proto jsou zde uvedeny a popsány metody výpočtu stroje mezi které patří analytické metody i metoda konečných prvků. Vzhledem k povaze elektrických strojů s plnými rotory je hlavně kladen důraz v této práci na výpočet stroje pomocí metody konečných prvků ve 2D prostoru s využitím korekčních činitelů konců plných rotorů, které jsou zde velmi detailně popsány a rozděleny. Na základě dostupné literatury je vypočítaný elektrický stroj s plným rotorem pomocí MKP analýzy. Elektromagnetický výpočet stroje je automatizován pomocí skriptu vytvořeného v Pythonu. Dalším hlavním cílem této práce je popis tzv. náhradních modelů, uvedení jejich výhod či nevýhod, použití v jiných průmyslových odvětvích a hlavně použití náhradních modelů na elektrický stroj s plným rotorem. S využitím náhradních modelů je dále optimalizovaný vybraný asynchronní stroj s plným rotorem a to pomocí programů SymSpace a Optimizer. Pro samotnou optimalizaci byly uvažovány 3 návrhy stroje, které byly na závěr mezi sebou porovnány a to hlavně z hlediska jejich elektromagnetického výkonu.

Als Stand der Technik sind einfache, kreisförmige Verrundungen zur Reduktion von Kerbspannungen an Querschnittsübergängen bekannt, für die aus Tabellenwerken / Diagrammen in der Literatur die Formzahl einfach abgelesen werden kann. Die Effizienz der Spannungsreduktion solcher Lösungen ist jedoch sehr begrenzt. Ziel der Arbeit ist es daher, dem Konstrukteur bzw. Berechnungsingenieur ein Verfahren in die Hand zu geben, mit dem er für Standardquerschnittsübergänge und Standardlastfälle "Nicht-Kreiskerben" ohne teure und zeitaufwendige FEM-Analyse einfach durch Nutzung geeigneter Formzahldiagramme auslegen kann. Dabei sind sogar Formzahlen von nahezu eins möglich, d.h., in der "Kerbe" bleibt praktisch nur noch die Nennspannung übrig. Die Präsentation ist zweitgeteilt: Im ersten Teil werden die Arbeitsmethoden bzw. Softwarefunktionen und verwendeten Softwarewerkzeuge vorgestellt: Dies sind die Programme Creo Parametric als vollparametrisches CAD-Werkzeug und Creo Simulate als p-FEM-Programm der Parametric Technology Coprporation (PTC). Der zweite Teil der Präsentation beschreibt den Gültigkeitsbereich sowie die untersuchten Kerbgeometrien: Die einfache kreisförmige Verrundung als Stand der Technik, die Zwei-Radien-Kerbe, die Baud-Kurve, die Methode der Zugdreiecke nach Claus Mattheck, die elliptische Kerbe sowie die konische Rundung als generalisierte elliptische Kerbe.
