The aim of this study is to examine if the freedom of information and thus also the freedom of expression in Sweden can be harmed if Swedish archives will start to identity control and register scholars who wants to take part private of archives in public archives. To find an answer, I have looked at the advantages and disadvantages of such registration and control. If a registration is introduced there is some thought about sort out and preservation and you can see if the principle of openness and thus freedom of expression can be damaged in such a registration. I have analysed and compared Swedish laws concerning the principle of openness and for archives as well as the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and conducted semi-structured interviews with a lawyer, an archivist, and a journalist. I have concluded that it is possible for the Swedish National Archive to register who takes part in their individual archives, but it is uncertain how long this information can be preserved. Most of the informants believe that the principle of openness and thus freedom of expression can be damaged if control of identification is introduced. The journalist believes that the registered information can be used to map journalists and prevent them from accessing information in private archives. / Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka om offentlighetsprincipen och därmed också yttrandefriheten i Sverige kan skadas om svenska arkiv kommer att börja identitetskontrollera och registrera forskare som vill delta privat i arkiv i offentliga arkiv. För att hitta ett svar har jag tittat på fördelarna och nackdelarna med sådan registrering och kontroll. Om en registrering införs tänker man på sortering och bevarande och man kan se om principen om öppenhet och därmed yttrandefrihet kan skadas i en sådan registrering. Jag har analyserat och jämfört svenska lagar om principen om öppenhet och för arkiv samt EU: s allmänna dataskyddsförordning (GDPR) och genomfört halvstrukturerade intervjuer med en advokat, en arkivare och en journalist. Jag har kommit fram till att det är möjligt för Svenska Nationalarkivet att registrera vem som deltar i sina enskilda arkiv, men det är osäkert hur länge denna information kan bevaras. De flesta informanter tror att principen om öppenhet och därmed yttrandefrihet kan skadas om kontroll av identifiering införs. Journalisten tror att den registrerade informationen kan användas för att kartlägga journalister och hindra dem från att få tillgång till information i privata arkiv.

This thesis focuseses on archives and availability. The general public seem to have trouble finding their way tothe actual archives even though most archival institutions are easily accessed and provide interesting material.Maybe it is because archives are generally not as well known as other institutions within the ALM-area, eventhough the need to know ones history and identity is considered mainstream. Whether or not history takes off atthe archives is a complex question to answer. Archives, however, certanly contribute to our ideas of earlier timesand the concept of history.I have examined what archives do to make these contributions known to the general public and to whatextent they make their material avaliable. I have also looked into archival pedagogy since it is often connected toavaliability. Furhtermore, since the educational system of Sweden has decided that pupils should understand the correct historical sources archives and their material are now an important part of the historical education. This thesis focuses on the archival work and does not examine how the educational system of Sweden discusess regarding collaboration with archives.This is a two year master´s thesis.

For that purpose, I basically examined its members’s written statements and its meetings’ minutes, which are in Plínio Doyle’s personal archives at Arquivo-Museu de Literatura Brasileira-AMLB, a department of Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa-FCRB. The present text shows that personal archives are important research resources, especially when, as it is the case of the sabadoyle group, there is a lack of secondary sources. / A presente dissertação se propõe, fundamentalmente, a refletir sobre a identidade de um grupo literário, denominado sabadoyle, que existiu entre os anos de 1964 e 1998. Para tanto recorremos, basicamente, aos depoimentos escritos e às atas que integram o arquivo privado pessoal de um de seus mentores, Plínio Doyle, sob a guarda do Arquivo-Museu de Literatura Brasileira-AMLB, da Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa-FCRB. O trabalho em questão parte do pressuposto de que os arquivos privados pessoais se constituem em importantes fontes de pesquisa, principalmente quando se registra, como no caso do sabadoyle, a quase ausência de fontes secundárias sobre um determinado tema.

O mencionado software serve a uma necessidade específica, como sistema de arquivos digitais, no armazenamento de longo prazo, acesso e preservação de conteúdo dos itens documentais. A análise do arquivo do compositor-poeta, Dorival Caymmi, artista e imortal, permitiu tomar conhecimento de seu rico valor biográfico, reafirmando-o como um legado à cultura baiana e brasileira, neste ato. O trabalho aqui desenvolvido, tratar-se-á de uma revisão teórico-conceitual sobre arquivos pessoais, no âmbito de estudos relacionados ao tratamento dos documentos produzidos e acumulados por pessoa física. / ABSTRACT It will be presented the Dorival Caymmi’s archives, a source of information and research with the possibility not only to understand a society through personal documents, with its own elements, as well as the construction of socio-cultural and artistic trajectory of the owner of the archives under study. This work deals with the organization and representation of information and knowledge, focusing on the digital archives of the Institute Antonio Carlos Jobim, with the purpose of analyzing the personal documentation of Dorival Caymmi, from theoretical reflection of modern archival science in the context of information and communication technologies. This research analyzes the digital platform, DSpace, with signage regarding the need for participation of the archivist in the process of organization and description of documents there deposited. The mentioned software serves a specific need, such as digital file system, in the long-term storage, access and preservation of documental content items. The analysis of the composer-poet archives, Dorival Caymmi, artist and immortal, allowed aware of its rich biographical value, reaffirming it as a legacy to the Bahian and Brazilian culture. The work developed here will treat a theoretical and conceptual review of personnel archives, in studies related to the processing of documents produced and accumulated by an individual.

O objetivo deste trabalho é estudar a produção documental das organizações privadas com base nas funções administrativas desempenhadas por elas. A partir da caracterização dos arquivos de pessoas jurídicas de direito privado são discutidas algumas das condicionantes que influenciam a produção documental dessas organizações. Inicialmente apresentamos uma condicionante intimamente relacionada à função probatória dos documentos de arquivo: a obrigatoriedade do cumprimento de determinações legais na celebração de atos jurídicos necessários à existência e funcionamento das instituições. A seguir, as condicionantes ligadas à evolução das teorias da Administração e do processo de gestão, que possuem grande representatividade na realização das funções administrativas. Por fim, a influência da cultura organizacional na produção e na atribuição de valor aos documentos de arquivo, especialmente para finalidades de preservação. Consolidando as discussões realizadas, apresentamos o levantamento de funções administrativas realizadas nas organizações e estabelecemos a ligação entre o cumprimento dessas funções e a produção documental característica. Ao final, é apresentado o quadro de espécies e tipos de documentos representativos da tipologia documental de organizações privadas, contendo definição, referências técnicas e legais. / The objective of this work is to study the document production in private organizations based on their internal administrative functions. From the description of the characteristics of the documents in private organizations, we discuss some of the conditions that influence on their record production. We initially present a closely related condition to the probationary function of the records: the requirement of following legal determinations on the process of fulfillment of all legal transactions regarding their existence and operation. The next two presented are connected to the evolution of the theories of administration and management process, which have great degree of representation on the administration functions. Finally, the influence of the organizational culture on the production and value assignment to the records, especially for the purposes of preservation. Consolidating all the discussions held, we describe the administrative functions performed in the organizations and we establish the connection between following these functions and the resulted record production. Concluding this work, it is presented a picture of types of representative documents of the record typology in private organizations, including definitions, legal and technical references.

A ACB desenvolveu-se entre os anos 1935 e 1966, calcada no projeto de conversão católica da sociedade. Baseada no método indutivo e no cotejo das fontes, a pesquisa debruçou-se sobre as obras religiosas e jurídicas que circularam entre os militantes e sacerdotes, além dos próprios documentos da Ação Católica Brasileira e das diferentes instituições envolvidas na custódia dos arquivos do movimento. Como resultados, a tese apresenta as particularidades da natureza e da institucionalidade da associação e nuances das relações estabelecidas entre leigos e sacerdotes ao longo de sua história. Igualmente desvela como o projeto fundante da ACB e as transformações pelas quais passou impactaram na produção e acumulação documental da associação. Por fim, pondera a respeito dos preceitos religiosos e das circunstâncias históricas que reverberaram no destino final e na apropriação do espólio documental por parte de diferentes custodiadores vinculados à Igreja Católica. / This study aims to reflect upon the nature of the Catholic Action in Brazil (ACB) and the configuration of its archives. The Catholic Action in Brazil was developed between 1935 and 1966, grounded in the project for society catholic conversion. Based on the inductive method and the comparison of sources, the research focused on the religious and legal works that circulated among militants and priests as well as on the Catholic Actions own documents and documents from different institutions involved in the custody of the movement´s archives. The thesis presents the peculiarities of the association nature and institutionality as well as the nuances in the relations established between laypeople and priests throughout history. It also reveals how the Catholic Action founding project and the transformations it has been through have impacted on the production and documental accumulation of the association. Finally, it ponders over the religious precepts and the historical circumstances that reverberated through the final destination and in the ownership of the documental legacy on the part of the different custodians attached to the Catholic Church.

The aim of this study is to examine how Swedish private archival institutions are working with the long-term preservation and access to their digital film collections. The issue of digital preservation has featured in many studies but fewer of these have concentrated on the challenges of private archives. This is what motivated my study. A qualitative methodology with a case study as a method have been applied to the study. The empirical material consists of qualitative interviews with five co-workers from five different Swedish private archival institutions and a literature review of studies that I found relevant to the phenomenon under study. The study uses the Total Archive and Records Continuum Model (RCM) as the conceptual and theoretical framework for analysis. The Total Archive theory means that types of artefacts such as films from both the public and private sectors are important inproviding a comprehensive picture of society. The RCM shows how different activities within the institutions can be traced to different dimensions in the model, where all parts play a role for the whole, in a continuum for how information is preserved and made available. The results of the study confirm earlier observations from earlier studies regarding the challenges of long-term preservation of digital artefacts which are; organizational, technological, lack of sufficient funding and the issue of copyright. It contributes to the existing research gap on the long-term digital preservation challenges faced by private archives.

Le présent travail propose une remise en lumière de l’écrivaine Concha Alós (19222011) et une réévaluation de sa production. Écrivaine révélée sous le Franquisme, elle a joui d’une reconnaissance médiatico-culturelle importante dans les années 1960 et 1970, mais souffre aujourd’hui d’une indifférence presque généralisée. Cette thèse s’attache à étudier exhaustivement, pour la première fois, le parcours personnel et professionnel de Concha Alós et, de manière plus affinée, son œuvre esthétique. À partir de l’examen d’une somme de documents (publiés, édités, inédits, etc.) et d’archives privées, ce travail recompose la trajectoire d’une écrivaine dans une Espagne bridée par la dictature. Il s'évertue à la positionner parmi ses contemporains, à déterminer les raisons de son oubli et analyse ses productions, tant narratives que journalistiques et scénaristiques. Notre étude vise à actualiser la connaissance d’une femme engagée, dont la plume tranchante, le style direct et les thèmes percutants méritent, aujourd’hui, une réhabilitation. / This thesis aims at placing the writer Concha Alós (1922-2011) in the limelight again and at reevaluating her production. As a writer revealed under Franco’s regime, she received an important media and cultural recognition in the 60s and 70s but suffers today from an almost general indifference. The purpose of this PhD dissertation is to provide – for the first time – a comprehensive study of Concha Alós’s personal and professional path and, in a more fine-grained way, her aesthetic work. After a careful review of a large number of documents (published or not, edited, etc.) and private archives, I retrace the trajectory of a Spanish woman writer in a country shackled by dictatorship, position her amongst her contemporaries, determine the reasons for her oblivion and analyze her productions which appear under the form of narratives, newspaper articles and scenarios. The study’s aim is to update our knowledge of a committed woman, whose caustic pen, direct style and powerful themes today deserve to be rehabilitated.
