Previous issue date: 2010-05-11 / Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo / This work is the report of a master degree research in the Post-
Graduate Program Education: Curriculum, of Public Policies and Curricular and
Educational Reform research group, performed in the municipality of Poá - SP.
After contracting the company Sol Soft s e Livros Ltda. in 2006, the municipal
school system began to receive a didactic and pedagogical package named
Sistema Objetivo Municipal de Ensino (SOME). The package contract
included the supply of study material to the students as well as orientation
manual and qualifying programs to the teachers. The aim of this research is to
understand how the contract process of the company was and how teachers
gave meaning to their practice after this process. The research started from a
documental analysis based on the reading of laws and decrees that regulate the
process of municipalization of basic education in the State of São Paulo and the
documents related to the public selection process for contracting the company.
There were also observation of pedagogical meetings and hearing of twenty
one teachers of the first level of basic education through the use of
questionnaires. The bibliographical research was based on J. Gimeno
Sacristán, Paulo Freire, Michael W. Apple, Henry Giroux and Lisete Arelaro and
has contributed to the constitution of hypotheses and instrumental analysis. It
was possible to understand how teachers, as direct authors of their pedagogical
practice, deal daily with teaching based on study guides. The conclusion is that
the low number of students enrolled at private schools compared to those
enrolled at the municipal public school network, the absence of infrastructure in
the town which would enable full responsibility for basic education and the
available financial resources are factors that contribute to turn the public school
Sistema Objetivo Municipal de Ensino (SOME). A contratação inclui o
A pesquisa

Previous issue date: 2007-07-23 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The theme of this research is the teachers educational exercise from the early education of
elementary school in public schools of the state of São Paulo, from a sociological perspective.
Based on Pierre Bourdieu s theory of the action, the teaching profession is understood as a social
function, with the objective of analyzing the material conditions which the teachers are submitted
to and their position in the space of the social relationships. For this reason, aspects related to the teachers social origin, trajectory and class belonging are analyzed, with the intention of detecting
facets of the agents family habitus who have been dedicating themselves to the exercise of that
function. We also analyze aspects of the conditions of the teachers work; of the cultural capital;
of the relationships they establish with the knowledge in the exercise of the function; as well as of
the practices accomplished by them which were explicited in their depositions, that constitute and
are constituted by facets of the habitus related to the teaching profession in that part of the
educational instruction that express the school culture historically instituted. Interviews were
accomplished with ten teachers, two parents, four students, one coordinator and one principal;
over questionnaires with 16 teachers. The research data evidenced that, for their origin, the
majority of the teachers belong to the popular classes, but the educational exercise represented
possibility of social ascension, positioning them in the middle classes. It was possible to realize
existent regularities in the teachers' family habitus, concerning the valorization of the work and
the educational instruction as strategy of social ascension, besides the submission of the women
to the masculine universe, which join the practices accomplished by the teachers in the school, at the same time expressed in them. We could also verify the conditions of the teachers work related to the space of the social relationships, leading them to establish distinction strategies in relation to their students and the students family, expressed in their view of the world. The
practices accomplished by the teachers and informed in their depositions were centered in the
moralization and the children s training, expressing aspects of the school culture and the habitus related to the exercise of that function. We can stand out that the educational exercise, even being socially depreciated, facilitates the teachers to establish distinction strategies and bargain symbolic capital, besides meaning improvements in their life conditions in terms of cultural and economic capital / O tema desta pesquisa é o exercício docente de professores do ciclo I do ensino fundamental em
São analisados também aspectos das condições de trabalho dos professores; do capital cultural;

Previous issue date: 2008-05-06 / Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo / This research s aim is to study, from the pedagogical coordinator teacher s point of view, the teaching of African-Brazilian History and Culture subject, recently included in the curriculum of the state primary and secondary public schools Law 10.639/03 , which modifies the LDBN 9.394/06 Law of Guidelines and Bases of the National Education Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional. The main objective was to verify the pedagogical coordinator s comprehension towards the legal statements of the Law 10.639/03, that is, the ethnic-racial debate in the school context. Therefore, we intended to relate the coordinator s view about the possibilities and limits in the pedagogical treatment of the African matrix teaching, referring to the fulfillment of this legal mechanism. It is exploratory research that took place in a regional teaching directorship in the city of São Paulo. The data was collected from the anti-racism federal educational law and by means of questionnaire referring to African-Brazilians demands, culture and history answered by ten coordinators who had agreed to take part in the research. In order to analyze the articulation between the educational laws, pedagogical practices and racial relationships, concepts from the Critical Theory were chosen as theoretical reference, especially in relation to the analysis of prejudice, which aroused during the research procedures. After the data collection, we realized there was no straight relation between the coordinator s speech and practice because we could notice on their speech an apparent harmony that did not fit the subtle prejudice which does not allow them to break the barrier of invisibility before important aspects that characterize the multicultural education. This conclusion indicates that the possibilities brought by the educational law must be accompanied by social, educational, and individual conditions that are being built / O objetivo, neste trabalho, é estudar o ensino da História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira sob a óptica do professor coordenador.

Previous issue date: 2009-03-31 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The research central issue is the profile of the teacher who works at the public Elementary
School from 1st to 4th grades at the state of Santa Catarina, the winner of the Prize Professores
do Brasil (Teachers of Brazil). The study was carried out considering the sociological
perspective. The research is based on Pierre Bourdieu s theory about the social capital,
cultural capital and distinction. Aiming to define the profile and analyze the conditions of the
granted teachers professional trajectory, we analyzed aspects related to: social origin,
trajectory, teaching formation; cultural capital; mobilization to do the prize subscription;
distinction among the other colleagues. From March 2007 to September 2008 we carried out
interviews and questionnaires in two granted teachers who lived at the city of Vargem Bonita-
SC, the only city with two citizens who had been granted with the Prize Teachers of Brazil at
the Midwest of Santa Catarina. Besides, we researched the Prize Teachers of Brazil in 2003
and 2004, aiming to define what is considered worth of distinction by the Ministry of
Education. The research data evidenced that the teachers who participated in the Prize
Teachers of Brazil had a certain degree of cultural and social capital. The data also allowed us
to understand that the participants of the awards used to value in their school and family
trajectory the search for grants. We also realized that there is the legitimization of the teacher
as the main agent of the change of quality of the public teaching in Brazil, according to the
Ministry of Education. The granted teacher is the center of the solutions . In many cases, the
teachers involve the community in order to help renovating the physical spaces or to donate
the necessary resources to the teaching profession / O tema central desta pesquisa é o perfil do professor ciclo I do ensino fundamental em escola
no ensino público do Brasil.

Previous issue date: 2010-05-20 / The theme of this work, the relationship between the museum and the school, emerges from the fact that the museum offers education and the school absorbs such an offer. The problem of the proposed research branches from the sociologist Pierre Bourdieu s investigations on the relationships among the cultural capital, the geographical location and the access to cultural objects. The research s subjects are elementary school teachers from public and private schools in São Paulo county, who joined the Programa de Visitação às Exposições of the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM) in 2009. We investigated how the teacher s social position in the teaching hierarchy and the location of the school reflect the professional s attendance to such visitation program. A second question concerns the assessment of the teacher s opinions about the visitation with his students. The aim of this study is to query if the teacher s opinions about the visitation to the museum reflect his social position. To achieve such a goal one hundred (100) teacher s responses to an assessment form used by the MAM s Setor Educacional - Relatório de impressões de visitas - professor -, were analyzed. The research hypothesis is that the teacher s opinions about the visitation to the museum is in line with the hierarchical position he occupies within his group, position which is the overall result of his movability within the cultured culture, his cultural capital and his working conditions. For data analysis we rely mainly on the notion of cultural capital coined by Pierre Bourdieu. To assess the quality of life, the county s Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano Municipal de São Paulo (IDH-M) was used. The results point to teacher s hierarchical differences in the geographical distribution between public and private schools. The teacher's opinions about the visitation to the art museum revealed traces of teacher s hierarchical distinction between public and private school systems, and less frequently between the levels of education in which the teacher works / O tema desse trabalho, a relação entre o museu e a escola, emerge da constatação de
profissional a tal programa.

Previous issue date: 2017-03-17 / This research aims at investigating an in-service teacher education proposal which
occurs through a Special Project of Action (PEA) in a municipal public elementary
school of São Paulo. In the legal material which guide and standardize the training
actions for all schools, the in-service teacher education is linked to the construction of
the Pedagogical Political Project of schools and aims at improving the quality of
education taking into account the real situation of the school and the community. The
main focus of analysis in this research is the teacher education process, which is
developed in the school and its potential contribution to improve practices carried out
by the teachers of the Literacy Cycle, which covers the first three years of schooling and
includes the age group between six and eight years. For the development of the study,
we chose a qualitative approach, using the methodological procedures of document
analysis, a semi-structured interview with the pedagogical school coordinator and focal
groups with the teachers. The scenario is composed of a municipal elementary school in
the region of São Paulo. The actors are eight literacy teachers with more than five years
of teaching experience, certificated to hold an effective teacher position in Early
Childhood Education and Elementary School Education, who passed exams and titles to
work in public schools. Moreover, they should be working in this school for at least five
years. The context in which the school is inserted is a neighborhood that presents
socioeconomic contrasts, comprising three areas of popular education and middle class
housing. The collected empirical material was analyzed under the theoretical framework
of the field of teacher education. The analysis of the data showed that the PEA is a
powerful space for the training of teachers of the Literacy Cycle, since it promotes
collective work, assuring time and space for studies, discussions, changing experiences
and gradually constitution of a group. The role of the pedagogical coordinator is
relevant for the training actions, and to give support, guidance and follow-up to the
group of teachers in the school. The data also pointed out a need to strengthen
theoretical basis and to deeply study the references indicated in the written material
available in the school. The results of the analysis provided support for the design of a
collaborative teacher education plan to be developed in the PEA / Esta pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar a formação permanente de professores do

The aim of this research was to analyze the possibilities and limits of a collaborative work developed in the implementation process of the Integrative Curriculum of the Childhood from the Municipal System of São Paulo, through narratives of an Early Childhood Education teachers group in partnership with one teacher of the Fundamental Education, from which we sought the articulation between the EMEI and the EMEF in order to give visibility to the Curricular proposal. The group movements during the reflection about their own practices and the local requests emerged as issues for the teaching work. The research had as formulated question: How the reflective movements derived from formative meetings with an Early Childhood Education teachers group contribute with their practices in the implementation process of the Integrative Curriculum of the Childhood from the Municipal System of São Paulo? The theoretical background was based on the National Curricular Guidelines for the Basic Education (MEC, 2013), the Integrative Curriculum of the Childhood of São Paulo (SÃO PAULO, 2015) and the teacher formation in the collaborative work perspective. To deal with this theme authors as Gatti and Barreto (2009), Imbernón (2009), Freire (1996 apud SAUL, 2015), Passos (2016), amog others, were used and allowed the reflection about possible ways which facilitated the understanding of the research problem. The research proposal focused on the Action Special Project (PEA) which takes place in the collective hours of the EMEI where the research was developed. The data were collected during the period of the year 2015 to 2016 using the prose analysis (ANDRÉ, 1983) and the inputs of authors such as Triviños (1987) and Creswell (2010) which helped to expand the scope of data interpretation. The analysis is organized in categories: Dialog between the EMEI and the EMEF and the Mathematics teaching; Articulation of the Integrative Curriculum, and The Collaborative Group composition and the new teaching and trainer apprenticeships. The results revealed the collaborative work as an efficient strategy for the reflection and improvement of the teacher practice since it contributes to the construction of a path that includes the main local requests, giving visibility to the prescribed and the performed Curriculum, through negotiations between the process participants who started to investigate their own actions, thus becoming a community of practice. This research contributes to a new culture of continuous training in the school context, bringing a new meaning for the teaching and the trainer work avoiding the centralization of the formation process and stimulates the valorization of the teacher knowledge, based on its doubts and incertainties, as the fundament of a transformation and reflection process.

January 2008 (has links)
Abstract: This research focus on a school day-by-day life of a group formed by nineteen teachers, in a private elementary school level II, from 2004 to 2006. The observed clipping searches for the classroom evaluation act, which refers to the theoretical formation of the group members and their practices related to Formative Evaluation, taken as reference from theoretical constructs in evaluation and pedagogical formation that were proposed since 1980. Methodologically, the study is inserted in the field of qualitative research, action research model, reason why it accepts reports of interferences shared between the researcher and the group members, aiming to reach improvement of the evaluation process in the focused learning segment. This investigation is the development of master degree research, were the data gathered through interviews, when analyzed, have pointed to controversies and congruencies inside the teachers discourse and practices. This fact justified the relevance of having an intervention. To the previous data gathered in the former research fresh ones were added. They were obtained during the current research and also from classroom observation and document analysis. From them relevant extracts were taken to a deeper study, because they were conceived as theory partial totality and practice. Submitted to analysis, this set of data showed the heterogeneity of reality representation, which builds a meaning network, where resistances pop up, incongruence between discourse and practice and the representation of situations which are sometimes characterized by reproduction and sometimes by new ways. / Doutor

Previous issue date: 2010-05-18 / The purpose of this study is to validates a didactic sequence verifying the forms
the teachers of elementary Education understand and work the meanings of the
center and spread measures, mode, arithmetic and mean average, according to
the levels of operation of Aline Robert's knowledge (1998). To reach this objective
we elaborated a didactic sequence that contemplates activities in order to
contribute in the (re)construction of the meanings of the necessary knowledge so
that the teachers have better conditions of applying them in classroom. We
discussed the characteristics of the mode, Arithmetic and Medium average,
besides the properties that each of those measures presents, using several
registrations us to explore all possibilities. Our theoretical references are those
proposed by Robert (1998) and the Theory of Semiotic Representation Registers
(DUVAL, 2003) to analyze the activities to be used with the teachers. As
methodology we used assumptions Didactic Engineering. The analysis of the
resolutions and discussions with teachers throughout the implementation process
of the sequence revealed their willingness and desire to learn as well as their
participation in all the process of (re)construction of knowledge. In this sense we
see that the explanation of the meanings of the measures of central tendency for
teachers provided greater security for the performance of their work in the
classroom, so we infer that the sequence contributed to a better training to the
As

Previous issue date: 2018-03-02 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This research aimed to investigate whether the demands placed on the
secondary school teachers are taken into account by the continuing educational
processes they have, compared to what they live at school. The option for
carrying out this research, focused on the secondary school, is due to the fact
that important issues are raise in this context that require assertive teachers
mediations, as those issues may have an impact on children and adolescents
learning process. We believe that the continuing education in service is an
important tool to introduce teachers in their working environment and potencialize
their practices. Being able to teach in a secure way and being aware of their
choices can help teachers to improve their students learning skills and build their
project of life. This is a qualitative research carried out with six school managers
(one principal and five coordinators) and 41 teachers from two public schools in
the city of São Paulo, that take part in Programa de Ensino Integral -PEI, (that is
an educational program which students spend the whole day at school). For data
gathering it was applied a questionaire to the teachers and interviews were
conducted with the managers. The theoretical approach used was the one related
to teaching education field, such as, Canário (1998, 2001), Fullan e Hargreaves
(2000), Nóvoa (1992), Marcelo Garcia (1999), Gatti e Nunes (2009), Gatti (2003,
2010), Imbernón (2011, 2009), Libâneo (2015, 2012, 2007), Marcelo (1999),
Marcelo e Vaillant (2012), Davis et al. (2012a, 2012b), Shulman (1987). The data
analysis was done by using some of the principles of content analysis by Bardin
(2011). Data were gathered in two categories: Educational actions: places and
the participation of teachers and managers; The teachers education in school:
guideliness, themes and teachers opinion about them; 3. The continuing
education on the secondary school: challenges and needs. The first hipothesis
of this thesis was that the educational processes experienced by the teachers
might not help them to face the existing challenges at school. The result showed
that, at the schools where this research was held, as they have a systematic
teachers educational program, closely wached by the managers, their needs are
somehow fulfilled. It was also possible to notice that PEI is a program which
brings oportunities to teachers and students to develop their potencialities. It’s
worth pointing out the role of the area coordinators in the development of the
A formação continuada no
Ensino Fundamental II: desafios e necessidades. A hipótese inicial desta tese
Vale ressaltar a
