Oslabení role odpočinku v pracovním procesu / Weakening the role of relaxation in working process. Discrepancies between work and rest of a person at productive age in the Czech society in the context of development of western Europe - a view of Christian ethics.

HROBAŘOVÁ, Petra January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the question of work and rest in the life of a contemporary Czech person. This includes the development of western Europe in past centuries before and after the industrial revolution up to the present situation characterized by the emphasis on speed and profit. The next part deals with the development of the Czech countries in the twentieth century that have undergone significant dramatic changes reflected even in the field of work and rest. The changes that took place with the commencement of capitalism are reflected from the position of the Jewish-Christian tradition and the social encyclicals issued from the late nineteenth century. It also focuses on the risks closely associated with an imbalance of work and rest both on the level of an individual and also his/her surroundings. Finally, current problems and possible solutions from the side of the state, the employer, the society and the individual himself/herself.

En svår nöt att knäcka : Verksamma förskollärares upplevelser om vaken-vilan / A hard nut to crack : Preschool teachers´experiences about awake-rest

Ericsson, Therese, Wallberg, Rebecca January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine preschool teachers experiences of awake-rest. Qualitativeinterviews with ten preschool teachers have been conducted and the results have been analyzed withIPA. Two main themes have been interpreted: The concept of awake-rest and The organization ofawake-rest. Our interviews revealed that the concept of awake-rest is a moment where preschoolteachers wants there to be calm while allowing for mental recovery. But their experiences of awakerestis of different character. Feeling the activity as both good and enjoyable but also as difficult andstress related. The organization of awake-rest regards preschool teachers experiences about therestrains and opportunities of the activity in relation to child group size, number of staff, environmentand materials. The study concludes that the awake-rest is experienced as an activity with manydimensions. Structural difficulties such as lack of staff in relation to the number of children createsorganizational limitations on what the activity awake-rest may contain. This leads to some of thepreschool teachers experiencing stress in connection with the activity. We can, by interpreting ourresults, see that the awake-rest is really what our headline claims: a hard nut to crack.

Such complexity requires a large amount of data to be treated by the three levels of process control: field devices, control systems and management softwares. To use data effectively in each one of these levels is extremely important to industry. Many of today s industrial computer systems consist of distributed software systems written in a wide variety of programming languages and developed for specific platforms, so, even more companies apply a significant investment to maintain or even re-write their systems for different platforms. Furthermore, it is rare that a software system works in complete isolation. In industrial automation is common that, software had to interact with other systems on different machines and even written in different languages. Thus, interoperability is not just a long-term challenge, but also a current context requirement of industrial software production. This work aims to propose a middleware solution for communication over web service and presents an user case applying the solution developed to an integrated system for industrial data capture , allowing such data to be available simplified and platformindependent across the network / O controle de processos industriais t?m se tornado cada vez mais complexo devido ? diversidade de equipamentos de ch?o-de-f?brica, exig?ncia na qualidade e concorr?ncia de mercado. Development of a location-based taxi service : using open-source tools

Maechel, Lars January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this project is to develop a component able to retrieve taxi providers in Sweden, based on input of coordinates and a search radius. The result should be available in a well-structured and accessible way through an RESTful web service. The study is conducted based on a customer inquiry stating that the component should be built using open-source tools and be developed in such a way that allows the component, or parts of the component, to be integrated in a larger system. Therefore, a preliminary study was conducted in order to find suitable open-source tools that are able to solve the specific customer requirements. The component uses an ad hoc company search engine to retrieve the taxi providers, contact information and coordinates. Additional information needed for determining the correctness of the taxi providers are retrieved from external resources and a filtering process is then performed before they are saved in persistent store. The project is successful in solving the main purpose and most of the customer requirements, while the RESTful service is unable too fully meet the requirement stating that the component should be able to handle multiple concurrent clients while still maintain responsiveness. This, is mainly due to the decision not to use an ad hoc framework in handling geospatial data structures and calculations and was a trade-off to ensure re-usability and integration of the component in a larger system.

Mobilní aplikace pro rozpoznání leukokorie ze snímku lidského obličeje / Mobile App for Recognition of Leukocoria in an Image of Human Face

Hřebíček, Pavel January 2019 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement a multiplatform multilingual mobile application for detecting leukocoria in an image of human face for iOS and Android platforms. Leukocoria is a whitish light of the pupil, which can be seen on the photo when the flash is used. Early detection of this symptom can save human eyesight. The application itself allows to analyze a user's photo and detect the presence of leukocoria. The goal of the application is to analyze eyes of the human, from which the mobile application name - Eye Check is derived. React Native framework was used to create a multiplatform mobile application. The Dlib library was chosen for human face and eye detection, the OpenCV library for working with the photo. The convolutional neural network was used to classify the eyes for the possible presence of leukocoria. Client-Server communication is solved using the REST architecture. The result is a mobile application that detects leukocoria and allerts the user to visit his doctor if leukocoria is detected.

A comparison of Azure’s Function-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service solutions / En jämförelse av Azures Function-as-a-Service och Infrastructure-as-a-Service molnlösningar

Alvaeus, Edvin, Lindén, Ludvig January 2023 (has links)
Cloud computing is a growing industry. More and more companies are moving away from on-premise infrastructure. Instead, the choice is often to build their systems based on cloud services. This growth in the industry has brought with it new needs and consequently, new solutions. There have never existed as many different cloud providers and services offered by these providers. One of the newer paradigms in this industry is the serverless approach. The problem of this thesis is that there is a lack of research into how Azure's serverless Function-as-a-Service offering compare to their more traditional Infrastructure-as-a-Service one. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to compare the two with regards to their performance, cost, and required developer effort. The goal is to provide a comparison that can help software professionals in choosing an appropriate cloud solution for their application. Additionally, it aims to contribute to the increased knowledge of modern serverless solutions while providing a basis for future research. A qualitative method supported by measurements is used. The two cloud solutions are compared with regards to their performance, cost and developer effort. This is done by implementing and deploying equivalent Representational State Transfer applications with the two Azure offerings. The two implementations are stress-tested to measure their performance, and their incurred costs are compared. Additionally, the effort involved in developing the two solutions is compared by studying the amount of time required to deploy them, and the amount of code needed for them. The results show that the serverless Function-as-a-Service solution performed worse under the types of high loads used in the study. The incurred costs for the performed tests were higher for the serverless option, while the developer effort involved was lower. Additionally, further testing showed that the performance of the Function-as-a-Service solution was highly dependent on the concept of cold starts.

Analys av tekniska möjligheter för tredjepartsaktörer att integrera med banker / Analysis of technical possibilities for third party actors to integrate with banks

Danielsson, Jakob, Oldenburg, Dag January 2018 (has links)
Banks internet activity have opened new possibilities for third party actors within the fintechindustry who can now create innovative economy and payment solutions by directlyinteracting with bank accounts. A problem for the fintech companies is that there is noavailable information about what technologies are available for them to use to get access tothe banks services and which technology is the most advantageous for their purpose. In this work, the four biggest swedish banks Nordea, Handelsbanken, SEB and Swedbankhave been examined to find out what options third party actors have to integrate with thebanks services. The examination showed that fintech companies will be able to or are able touse one of the three techniques SFTP, REST or web automation. A test environment for thethree technologies was developed to simulate real use cases for fintech companies. CPU-,RAM- and network usage as well as total operating time was measured for the threetechnologies. For sending information REST was the more effective technology when it cameto lower data volumes while SFTP was the most efficient with bigger data volumes. RESTwas the most efficient for retrieving information, no matter the data volume. Web automationwas the least efficient compared to both the other technologies.

A high-performance API for smart content-driven mobile applications

Fonteneau, Félix January 2022 (has links)
Nowadays, smartphones are one of the main mediums to transfer content to clients and they provide a good interface for the delivery of digital therapeutics (DTx). Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) are keystones for any service-based mobile application to manage the data transfer between the clients and the server(s). At the time of writing, REST and GraphQL are arguably the most popular API types. These APIs provide simplicity, efficiency, and scalability for data-driven applications. However, we can question the validity of these qualities when it comes to content-driven applications such as DTx apps for example. The objective of this project is to decide whether common data-driven API types are suitable for products where the content is not created by the users, but by content creators, or if a new API type could be developed which is more suitable for this use case. Useful insights are presented on how standard APIs should be adapted to address this problem. Moreover, this document presents a new prototype of API that is supposed to help content creators with content creation while providing high performance. Additionally, an advanced test platform is introduced in order to help the comparison of the implementation in terms of performance. This thesis shows that GraphQL is not a suitable method for the initial problem. It also shows that REST is a good standard adapted for scalability in the present scope. The prototype displayed guarantees great performances by means of preloading, thus, suffers high concurrency in terms of performances when scaled up. However, potential solutions are given in order to counter this.

Shahwali, Ali, Mattsson, Lukas January 2022 (has links)
REST and GraphQL are the two dominant Application Programming Interface (API) architectures being used for communication with databases. They differ in a lot of aspects, and as such it is not immediately obvious which architecture is preferable. This thesis aims to shed some light onto this problem by exploring two aspects, developer experience, and performance. The method used to measure the developer experience was a case study, in which participants had to write code that communicates with a REST API and a GraphQL API and then answer questions that describe their experience communicating with both. To test the performance, a case study was done in which 5 different benchmarks were ran comparing the two. The results of the first case study show that GraphQL solutions were perceived to give a more overall picture of what is happening than REST solutions. REST was, however, viewed as easier to complete the tasks with. The results of the second case study show that a server that implements REST architecture has better performance during normal circumstances, but GraphQL shows better performance if data is being requested with specified fields.

The Sabbath commandment in Exodus 20:8-11 in the light of the first creation account / Matthew Brian Haynes

Haynes, Matthew Brian January 2015 (has links)
This study is an attempt to define more clearly the Sabbath institution as it is presented in Exodus 20:8-11. It begins by describing the big-picture contours of the Sabbath institution as it has been depicted by various scholars during the last century. Many of these studies focus on delineating what proper Sabbath observance entails or describing how Sabbath rest mirrors God’s rest on the seventh day of creation. However, little investigation has been conducted into the relationship between the fourth commandment in Exodus 20 and the shape of humanity’s task and relationship with God on the seventh day. The study then examines the nature of God’s rest in the first creation account, describing what “rest” entailed for God, and the work from which he rested. It suggests that this “rest” is from the creational activity of the first six days and that it continues on into the present. It also discusses the relationship between the concept of rest offered by the first creation account and the concept of rest in the understanding of the Ancient Near East and Israel. Humanity’s role in the created order is also examined. While humans share some qualities with other creatures, such as an embodied existence, they are also distinct from the rest of creation. Only humans are created in the image of God. As such, they are given tasks unique to their status: subduing the earth, exercising dominion over the creatures of the earth, and expanding the borders of the garden as they multiply and fill the earth. These form the heart of their God-given task that they will carry out as God enjoys his seventh-day rest. Next, the study investigates the particulars of Exodus 20:8-11 and suggests a reading of these particulars against the backdrop of the seventh day as it is described in chapters 3-4. While the rationale for the Sabbath commandment is grounded in the events of the first creation account, the commandment itself also needs to be understood in the context of the Decalogue and, in turn, in the context of the law’s reception at Sinai. The law, and hence the fourth commandment, are central to the calling and purpose of Israel. As Israel fulfils its mandate to be a light to the nations, it will reflect the ideals of the seventh day as they are encapsulated in the law. Far from simply mirroring God’s rest, the fourth commandment reflects the relationship between God and humanity and humanity’s role on the seventh day of creation. The study concludes by drawing together various pieces of the argument and makes suggestions for further research. / MTh (Old Testament), North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2015
