Konsten att samverka : - rektorer och socialsekreterares upplevelser om samverkan

Wedstedt, Eleonor, Bergold, Maria January 2011 (has links)

Bengtsson, Emma, Berg, Frida January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this study was to investigate how school counselors experienced collaboration with social services and whether they felt they have the ability to improve upon this collaboration. The empirical data consists of qualitative interviews with eight school counselors from public schools, ages 13 to 15, in eight separate municipalities in the Stockholm area. The main results showed that the school counselors recognized the positive benefits from collaboration, but that they in practice experienced difficulties turning this into a high-quality collaboration. The school counselors experienced that due to uncertain expectations in the collaboration it led to unclear distribution of areas of responsibilities. The school counselors expressed small or no possibilities for them to improve upon collaboration but pointed out that higher commitment and a positive attitude are valuable attributes to improving collaboration. The results of the interviews were analyzed using the new institutional theory of organization and the role theoretic perspective. The conclusion states that the school counselors can help improve collaboration by taking initiative to better communication in order to clarify the collaborators expectations and conditions. The study highlights importance of school counselors trying to overcome obstacles and difficulties presented by different conditions of different organizations.

Att lyssna till pappors röster : En kvalitativ studie av pappors upplevelser kring att befinna sig i vårdnadstvist

Andius, Disa, Puskar, Amna January 2011 (has links)
This study highlights the problematic situation fathers encounter when they require help and support in a custodial dispute. Previous research shows the emergence of a new, more involved father. In the light of this earlier research, this study will show a father that is willing to fight for his rights to be a present and engaged parent in the case of a separation from the mother. The aim was to analyze the subjective perceptions of five fathers in custodial dispute. This analysis did not only show how they perceive their role as a father and their masculinity but also the way they feel about the help they got from social services and other institutions. The fathers show feelings of subordination and discrimination of their parenthood compared to the one of the mother’s; as a result of the treatment they got from social services and other institutions.

Medias granskning av socialtjänsten : - en kvalitativ undersökningen ur ett socialsekreterarperspektiv

Holtmer, Josefin, Ekström, Frida January 2009 (has links)
Many social services cases have been reviewed in the media during the last years. One of those cases is “Lasse and Karin”, handled by the Social Services in Oskarshamn in 2002. Lasse and Karin had their son taken into custody by the Social Services and the case was reviewed in national media. Through this case the Social Services received much attention, of which most was negative, and their handling of the case was greatly criticized. From this particular case as well as others alike it, our interest developed into this study. This is a qualitative study, based of sex depth interviews with Social Welfare Secretaries in three different municipalities. Our aim with this study is to examine how the Social Welfare Secretaries are influenced by media coverage of their work, focusing on their handling of cases. We also compare how these influences vary between Social Welfare Secretaries who have personal experience of media reviews, and the Social Welfare Secretaries who have not yet been reviewed by the media. The study has a sociological and social psychological perspective. Our purpose with this study is to learn more about how the Social Welfare Secretaries experience the media coverage of social service cases, how the Social Welfare Secretaries relate to media articles and how they, in their occupational role, handle the pressure of being reviewed by media. Some of the people we interviewed have personal experience of media reviews while others only have experienced the reviewing of colleagues through media. The result of the study shows that the Social Welfare Secretaries experience media reviewing as tiring, strenuous and one-sided. Because of this, their trust in the media was low. However, they all agreed that media could be used to promote the Social Services in a positive way.

The Role of Religious Congregations in the Mental Health Care System

Frenk, Steven Michael January 2011 (has links)
<p>This dissertation examines congregations' sponsorship of social services for people living with mental disorders. Using data from a nationally representative sample of U.S. congregations, the 2000 US Census, and the 2006 General Social Survey, I address three research questions: What proportion of congregations sponsor services for people living with mental disorders?; How do congregational characteristics affect the likelihood that congregations sponsor these services?; How do neighborhood characteristics and community assessments affect the likelihood that congregations sponsor these services?; Does being a member of a congregation that sponsors these services affect their members' support for government spending on mental health care? The findings indicate that 8% of congregations sponsor services for people living with mental disorders and that religious ideology affects whether congregations sponsor these services. Congregations located in neighborhoods with disadvantaged populations are more likely to sponsor services if they conduct a needs assessment study of their communities while congregations in neighborhoods with advantaged populations are less likely to sponsor services for people living with mental disorders if they conduct a needs assessment study of their communities. Belonging to congregations that sponsor services for people living with mental disorders does not have a direct effect on their members' support for government funding of mental health care. It does, however, have indirect effects. People who belong to congregations that sponsor services for people living with mental disorders and who pray frequently are less likely to support increased government spending on mental health care.</p> / Dissertation

"Om föräldern hade varit normalbegåvad men behövt stöd i sitt föräldraskap hade situationen varit en annan” : - En dokumentanalys av rättsfall om LVU / “If the parent not had been disabled and needed support in their parenting the situation had been different”. : – A document analysis of court cases about LVU

Carlsson, Hanna, Larsson, Elin January 2015 (has links)
Previous research has indicated that intellectual disabilities and parenting is not socially accepted and compulsory care of children often occurs in families where one or both parents have an intellectual disability. This study aims to, thru a document analysis, investigate ideas and representations of parents with intellectual disabilities that emerge in Swedish legal cases. The legal cases is about children who are taken care of according to LVU § 2, where one or both parents have a intellectual disability. The results of the study revealed that people with intellectual disabilities are seen as not capable of developing parenting ability, in some cases aroused concerns about parenting during pregnancy, these suggesting stereotypes of parents with intellectual disabilities. Of the documents reveals that social workers word overrides in the decision-making, this leads to a position of power where the parents are at a disadvantage.
