Interactions et pratiques d'un processus d'innovation pédagogique en environnement carcéral / Interactions and practices of pedagogical innovation process in prison environment

Alidières, Lucie 11 September 2013 (has links)
The research focuses on distance learning adapted to prisoners. This activity is situated between two areas of activities, university and prison. The aim is to analyze a pedagogical innovation process, in various stages. The first stage use an ethnographic approach to understand prison fieldwork through classroom activities observations. A second stagematch pedagogicals and socials specificities of this field. A third stage considers methods and procedures of organization of talk in teachers-students interactions. The corpus has been constituted through classroom activities in prison and it relies on audio and video recordings, which are explored using Conversation Analysis and of technopedagogicals proposals throughout field approach. This study proposes an other way to access to social activities in prison. It opens on an exploratory field study of educational interaction in prison, social and educational reach beyond the prison enclosure.

Functional Decline In The Case Of Salipazari, Istanbul

Eslami Taheri, Aslan 01 February 2013 (has links) (PDF)
Urban decline is one of the most important factors dealing with the creation of urban ills and formation of slums in the city centers. This study investigates the roots of urban decline in urban areas. In order to do so, symptoms, types, causes and participant factors dealing with the process of urban decline are investigated. Also functional decline, as one of the most important triggers of urban decline, is introduced and its force that results in low quality of urban places is explored. The scale of participant factors in the process of functional decline is various. These factors are observed from changes in the global political trends and economy till the regulation changes in local scale. Moreover the ways of talking with urban and functional decline, that is classified into four major category of political considerations, economic financing, planning policy and enhancing the quality of places are explored. Finally the forces of urban and functional decline that have lead to low quality of place in the case of Salipazari, Istanbul are examined. Perceived Participation in Discharge Planning and Health Related Quality of Life after Stroke

Almborg, Ann-Helene January 2008 (has links)
The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate the patients’ and their relatives’ perceived participation in discharge planning after stroke and the patients’ health-related quality of life, depressive symptoms, performance of personal daily activities and social activities in connection with discharge. Another aim was to evaluate the psychometric assumptions of the SF-36 for Swedish stroke patients. Prospective, descriptive and cross-sectional designs were used to study all patients with stroke admitted to the stroke unit at a hospital in southern Sweden from October 1, 2003 to November 30, 2005 each with one close relative. The total sample consisted of 188 patients (mean age=74.0 years) and 152 relatives (mean age=60.1 years). Data were collected during interviews, 2-3 weeks after discharge. The results showed that less depressive symptoms, more outdoor activities and performance of interests are important variables that related to higher HRQoL. SF-36 functions well as a measure of health related quality of life in Swedish stroke patients, but the two summary scales have shortcomings. Compared to a Swedish normal population, scores on all scales/components of the SF-36 were lower among stroke patients especially in the middle-aged group. Most of the patients perceived that they received information, but fewer perceived participation in the planning of medical treatment and needs of care/service/rehabilitation and goal setting. The relatives perceived that they need more information and they perceived low participation in goal setting and needs assessment. The professionals seem to lack effective practices for involving patients and their relatives to perceive participation in discharge planning. It is essential to develop and to implement methods for discharge planning, including sharing information, needs assessment with goal setting that facilitate patients’ and relatives’ perceived participation. The results suggest that ICF can be used in goal setting and needs assessment in discharge planning after acute stroke.

Ett lyft i vardagen: En beskrivning av äldre personers upplevelser av att ha deltagit i projektet ’Äldre på vift’ / Elevating every day life – a description of older people’s experiences with participation in the project ’Äldre på vift’

Johansson, Emma, Björklund, Susanna January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this study was to describe how older people experienced their participation in the project ’Äldre på vift’. The authors chose to use a qualitive design. Interviews were conducted in order to obtain descriptive information from the participants’ experiences of the project ’Äldre på vift’ in Nässjö county. The overall number of participants in this study were 10 older people aged 70-90 years old. The content analysis of the interviews were conducted in accordance with content analysis as described by Graneheim & Lundman (2004). The conclusion of all the participants were that they all got positive experiences, for example increased feeling of participation, increased feeling of well-being and an increased belief in their own self-capacity which contributed to a more active every day living. All of the participants experienced the project as to be rewarding as an elevating in their every day life. They all put an emphasis on the importance of being able to participate in group activities outside of their home. The participants also wished to see the project ’Äldre på vift’ to be continued in the future so that more older people like them could get a elevating in their every day life.

Activity-focused interventions to counteract social isolation in elderly people

Bjelke, Anna-Lena, Hopstadius, Mikaela January 2022 (has links)
Title: Activity-focused interventions to counteract social isolation in elderly people. Background: Elderly people is an increasing group in society. Losses and reduced social networks are part of aging. To live in social isolation can lead to major health issues. Occupational therapists focus on activities can be used to support elderly people in the performance of meaningful activities as a part of counteracting social isolation. Purpose: To map and describe activity focused interventions to counteract social isolation in elderly people with focus on outcome. Method: A scoping review was used. Data collection was done by literature search in the databases: AMED, Cinahl, Medline, Pubmed and Psycinfo and manual searches which resulted in ten articles. Result: Articles from four countries and with different designs were identified. The goal and aim of the interventions varied and three sub-themes were identified: to prevent social isolation and/or loneliness, strengthen and keep good health and lifestyle and increase participation and fellowship. The results indicate that activityfocused interventions and their outcomes can counteract social isolation in elderly people. Conclusion: Activity-focused interventions contribute with a reduced feeling of loneliness, increased experience of belonging and a greater activity engagement. There may be a need for more occupational therapy interventions as the group elderly people in social isolation increases but further studies are required.

Sustainability performance and financial performance in selected Johannesburg Stock of Exchange listed companies

Moswatsi, Kgorompe Michael January 2022 (has links)
Thesis (M.COM. (Accounting)) -- University of Limpopo, 2022 / The corporate sustainability performance (CSP) journey is coupled with many complex issues which have subsequently eliminated the boundary between legal and discretionary social practices. In South African JSE SRI listed organisations, sustainability performance programmes are regarded as tools for redressing socioeconomic disparities. However, the influence of sustainability performance on organisations‟ financial performance becomes a vital notion in contemporary sustainable development debates as evidenced by extensive inconclusive literature that has its long roots in the research field. The aim of the study is to examine how corporate sustainability performance influences organisations‟ financial performance which is return on assets (ROA). Through content analysis, secondary data were extracted from annual integrated reports of 175 purposively sampled South African organisations registered on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE SRI Index) for the years 2009-2019. The study employs cross-sectional time series feasible generalised least regression (FGLS) to test the correlation between the dimensions of corporate sustainability performance and return on assets as a proxy for organisational financial performance. The study results confirm that employees‟ health and safety sustainability performance programmes have a significant and positive impact on return on assets, whereas CSP programmes in community social activities have a positive and significant influence on return on assets. An insignificant relationship exists between Eco-investments (socially responsible investments) and return on assets (ROA). The study concluded that there is a significant association between CSP and ROA. The findings further confirm that control variables (leverage ratio, current ratio, total assets turnover, operating profit margin and price earnings ratio) have an effect on the correlation between CSP and ROA. The results have potential implications for corporate sustainability performance policy makers in South Africa, and contribute to corporate sustainability performance/organisations‟ financial performance debate. The study further stresses that continuous review of CSP policies is imperative to ensure that sustainable business practices are achieved.

Without trust there is nothing : A quantitative study of students' trust in the Police

Edlund, Karolina, Mladenovic, Tanja January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to find out if active people in social activities contribute to a higher trust in the Police among university students. Throughout the essay the trust of male and female students is compared. To be able to study this, we used a quantitative study, of which 121 students answered. The survey consisted of both qualitative and quantitative questions. The results from the Chi-two tests showed that activity in social activities as a single factor does not determine whether a student has high trust or not. The hypothesis in this essay cannot be rejected, so it cannot be confirmed that there is a connection between activity within social activities and a higher trust in the Police. The results of the survey also showed that male students have a lower trust in the Police than women had. However, men showed a higher participation in social activities and a higher level of trust in fellow-citizen than women. The result is then compared to Putnam's theory and previous research.

Dévotion, ascèse et violence dans l’hindouisme sectaire : ethnographie d’une secte shivaïte du Bengale / Devotion, asceticism and violence in sectarian Hinduism : ethnographical study of a Bengali Sivaïte sect

Voix, Raphaël 09 December 2010 (has links)
Cette conception singulière de l’ascétisme prend source dans la culture tantrique bengalie, laquelle tient la force pour une manifestation de l’Énergie divine (śakti) et le Maître pour une divinité incarnée / Founded in 1955 by a Bengali civil servant, Ananda Marga, the "way of bliss", is a Hindu sect with worldwide organization and involved in missionary activities in a great number of countries. In the religious landscape of contemporary India, it is distinctively characterized by the violence for which its followers have been accused. The ethnographical research carried out among this sect, combined with the analysis of its internal literature and the collection of testimonies of former disciples shows that this violence can be explained by the political aspirations of its founder and its members as well as by instability of its economic base. But it can also be explained by two interrelated processes: the profound change in the person of the disciples and a radical transformation of the society. By submitting himself voluntarily to psychological and physical violence, a disciple tries to go over the limitations of ordinary existence. However, he frees himself from this world so that he can be in exclusive service to his Guru and his mission in this world. With such a purpose, acts of extreme violence appear as expressions of devotional fervour pushed to its climax. The source of this peculiar conception of asceticism can be traced in Bengali tantric culture, for which the force represents a manifestation of divine energy (śakti) and the Guru represents an incarnate deity

Also it contradicts the industrial culture and its mass culture. . Trying to understand the peculiar style of organization of activities and events propagandized by collective actors in the mentioned scene, it was made a theoretic debate among urban sociologists and anthropologists that study young cultures and social movements, including some that wrote about movements anarchist, punk and anarch-punk. In this research it was also analyzed militancy source materials, such as informative bulletins, reports of anarchpunk meeting of the northeast region of Brazil and websites of anarch-punk organizations. Based in the research efforts, we realized that the style of organization of the anarch-punk acting in the João Pessoa scene, creates a new style of actuation influenced however different of the styles anarchist and punk. That happens because it is mixed in their activities cultural and polictic-social elements and aspects that before is only found separated or absent in each of these two styles of actuation.
