Gymnasielärares beskrivningar och förklaringar av evolutionsbiologiska begrepp

Karlsson, Magnus January 2016 (has links)

Jonsson, Olle January 2014 (has links)
This paper investigates how students in the humanities in four universities in Sweden reflect on their education and the current view on the humanities as an education and a science. I want to investigate what impact the past few years public debate about the humanities have had on the students. What kind of beliefs and identities do the students of the humanities form and how do they discuss the universities, the choices they made in life and how do they feel about the future. This study is based on interviews with seventeen students in Sweden from four different universities. The research is also based upon a report that The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) published in 2011 and the debate following that report. I have also made participant observations on the four universities to make a broader description for the reader. The paper mainly uses post-structuralistic theory (Foucault and Althusser) to analyze the informants lifes and thoughts about their education and future.    This research highlights the complexity involved when students  make choices for the future. Idealized views of education and what is important in life exists and creates gaps between what the person want and what is perceived are normative. There is a perceived hierarchy among universities, students and educations. Students of the humanities often feel that their position in this hierarchy is weaker than the idealised student and that makes the interpellation of the subjects harder but not less important.

: Student teachers experiences of stress at Umeå University

Olofsson, Mattias January 2023 (has links)
In today's society, the term stress is a well-known phenomenon. It is something that everyone, regardless of age, encounters and is forced to deal with. Within the world of universities, thestress that occurs has increased among today's students. More than half of all students becomedepressed because of the pressures that arise around them. This study aims to investigate howstudents, specifically students who study to become teachers at Umea University, experiencestress. What are the factors that affect their level of stress and are there any special strategiesthat work to regulate the stress? The approach that the study has taken is a qualitative study, in which four students haveparticipated in an interview about how they experience the stress, and which factors andstrategies have helped to reduce the discomfort. The results from the interviews have thenbeen summarized and analyzed with the help of previous research in the subject and twotheories. These two theories are based on a socio-psychological orientation and are calledKASAM and coping. These theories aim to see what affects an individual's stress level andhow the individual can manage the stress that occurs. The qualitative interview has beenbased on a thematic analysis that has helped highlight what the students' experiences have incommon and what possible solutions are available to reduce the academic stress. The results showed that the symptoms felt by the students corresponded well with stresssymptoms. Depression, anxiety, migraines are just some of the symptoms shown.Furthermore, the results from the interviews showed that performance, ambiguity, expectation, anticipation, and motivation were all factors that affected the level of stress felt. And the strategies to avoid this stress were routines, activities, knowledge, and acceptancefrom the students.

Westberg, Alva, Linder, Johanna January 2021 (has links)
Universities are large meritocratic organizations where the pursuit of competitiveness never ends. The main role of universities is to educate, conduct research and discover new knowledge. Therefore are both the employees’ competence and the right composition of merit central to the universities. It thus becomes crucial for the universities to retain the best employees and motivate the employees to work towards the organization's goals. This study shows the employees at Luleå University of Technology's view of the correlation between motivation, feedback, reward, performance, and promotion. The purpose of the study is to find out what merit looks like and how it is related to the performance of a meritocratic organization. By achieving the purpose, we can contribute and inspire further research on how employees with long-term goals and clear career paths can perceive management control. To achieve this, literature searches in scientific articles have been done and empirical data has been collected through semi-structured interviews. An abductive approach has been applied in the study. The results show that the connection between employees' performance and promotion is stronger through research than teaching. The empiric also shows that the interviewees mainly see the non-monetary rewards as contributing factors to increased motivation and that feedback is important for motivation. The employees consider that they receive enough feedback from the students, but the majority want more feedback from managers.

Hamidi, Anton January 2023 (has links)
The study has consisted of creating a place for snow storage with a connecting storm water facility. This is based on findings regarding concentrations of pollutants in Luleå's snow storages in combination with Luleå's standards for design of these storages. For Luleå Municipality, the stormwater issue is relevant as the number of floods will increase as Luleå expands. This results in a greater ratio of hard-made surfaces with increased surface runoff that create risks of flooding and property damage, something that will intensify even further with climate change. Besides this, the runoff concentration of pollutants that are transported out into recipients also increases. The study has been carried out in Luleå, via Luleå Municipality and LTU. The purpose of the study was to answer the following questions:"What concentrations of pollutants are found in Luleå's meltwater?", "What does Luleå' smanagement of snow storage look like, and why?", "Where can a snow storage be placed in Luleå to enable year-round recreation?” and "Which stormwater solution should be chosen to filter pollutants from this snow deposit?". This was answered via seven different means of gathering data: literature studies, field studies/observations, meetings/interviews & E-mail exchanges, selection of a stormwater facility, calculations, simulations, and conceptual design. Through these means, the study concluded that the concentrations of pollutants in meltwater are generally greater than in stormwater, that there are recommendations regarding the size, location and safety of Luleås snow storages, that any snow storage should preferably be located where motor traffic is not present and that its space should be usable year round with regard to recreation, and that a wetland is the most suitable facility for filtering the pollutants in the meltwater from this deposit. Overall, the results conveys that the spaces set aside for snow and meltwater treatment should enable year-round recreation, in addition to their technical functions. However, does the results show nothing in terms of management of extreme cases of rainfall nor any types flooding preventions relating to stormwater management. This paper does not provide any suggestions for a snow storage site nor a stormwater treatment facility for cities with a similar or different climate. The reason that onlyr ecreation and pollution treatment were considered is because these are the most relevant in this context, firstly since toxins are more prevalent in meltwater than in stormwater, and because recreation associated with snow is a given aspect of usage. Thus were a suitable frame of question and suitable means used to generate reasonable and acceptable results.

Julin Nyquist, Kristina January 2020 (has links)
According to the Higher Education Act, colleges and universities are required to, in addition to education and research, collaborate with the outside society. Since collaboration is not as clearly defined as education and the research assignment, there is a need for a common goal image about what you want to achieve with collaboration. This master’s degree thesis studies what similarities and/or differences an external part, researchers & teachers and senior advisor in collaboration, have as goals with collaboration between a university and external partners. Value-focused thinking is used as theoretic framework. The study consists of nine semi structured interviews from three different interest groups: senior advisors in collaboration from Linnaeus University, researchers & teachers from Linnaeus University and external partners. From the interviews fundamental objectives and means objectives were identified and structured into hierarchies and means-ends networks from each informant´s answers. The fundamental and means objectives show what similarities and differences the informants have for values concerning collaboration and what goals the different parties wish to achieve by collaborating with each other. Fundamental objectives that existed in several of the structures were to contribute to the benefit of society, to contribute to the development of society and to solve common social challenges. A means objective that existed in the goal structures is the importance of working with students, as working with students helped fulfil the fundamental objectives to strengthen the competence in the region and came to benefit the development of society. The means objectives in research were to contribute to the fundamental objectives in strengthen innovation and benefit by enabling to solve common societal challenges.
