GraphSchema : uma linguagem visual para a criação de modelos de contratos com SML / GraphSchema : a visual language to create contract models with SML

É usual falar da onipresença dos documentos de texto e na quantidade de informação não estruturada, armazenada sob a forma de arquivos com documentos de texto em linguagem natural. Este fato torna-se mais dramático no domínio jurídico, onde o texto é a ferramenta básica de trabalho dos profissionais da área, tanto na forma das fontes de consulta, i.e., a legislação, como no principal produto da atividade jurídica, especificamente a criação de documentos escritos. Desde a invenção do editor de texto existem iniciativas de utilização de tecnologias da informação para auxiliar a geração, armazenamento e consulta de documentos jurídicos. Dentre os diversos ramos da atividade jurídica, a criação de contratos é especialmente importante, devido a sua onipresença nas interações entre os agentes sociais, sejam elas pessoas físicas, jurídicas ou agentes de governo. Com foco na criação de modelos de contratos, este trabalho introduz a linguagem gráfica GraphSchema. Projetada para usuários finais, GraphSchema utiliza uma representação visual para criação de modelos de contratos jurídicos, permitindo a modelagem dos conceitos, relacionamentos e restrições entre estes. A representação visual é diretamente mapeada na linguagem SML, uma extensão do XML Schema. Ao possibilitar a criação de modelos conceituais de contratos diretamente por parte dos usuários finais sem forçar um vocabulário ou ontologia específicos, GraphSchema e, conseqüentemente, a utilização de SML, apresenta vantagens quando comparado com a utilização de XML Schema, RDF e OWL. Mas principalmente apresenta vantagens quando comparada com outras abordagens baseadas em definição de vocabulários e utilização de ontologias formais. Estas vantagens decorrem de sua simplicidade e flexibilidade que permite a utilização de padrões existentes para a definição de modelos de contratos, tais como, o padrão eContracts definido pelo consórcio LegalXML. Deste modo, GraphSchema apresenta-se como uma opção para a implementação e aplicação prática deste padrão. A disponibilidade de uma linguagem para usuários não técnicos permitirá a criação de contratos com marcação a priori, quando utilizado em conjunto com editores de texto guiados por XML. Isto irá abrir caminho para o aumento da produtividade na criação de contratos e documentos jurídicos. / It is common place to talk about the widespread presence of text documents and unstructured information stored in natural language text documents file format. This fact is still more dramatic to law professionals where text is the basic tool for their work. Those texts came from multiple sources like research documents and legislation and also are the main product from law activities, i.e., text documents which are created by law professionals. Since the first text editor there are several initiatives to use information technologies to help the generation, storage and search of law documents. From all documents, legal contracts generation is especially important due to its ubiquity and use by all social actors like common people, companies and government agencies. This work main focus is legal contract model generation. GraphSchema graphical language is introduced as a proposed solution to enable users to create contract models without help from a computer professional. It uses a visual representation to create legal contracts models, where concepts, relationships between those and constraints can be represented in a visual paradigm which can be understood by users. The graphical representation is translated to SML, a XML Schema extension. On enabling final user conceptual contract modeling without forcing a restrict vocabulary or ontology, GraphSchema and. by consequence, the use of SML, has several advantages in comparison with the use of simple XML Schema, RDF and OWL. But mainly show advantages when compared with other approaches based on vocabulary definition and formal ontology usage. Those advantages are mainly due to its simplicity and flexibility which enable the use of existing standards to define contract models like the eContracts standard defined by LegalXML consortium. This way, GraphSchema appears as an option to implement and use this standard in real world cases. The availability of a language directed towards non technical user will enable the contracts creation with tag markup from the beginning when used with XML guided text editors. This opens a door to productivity grow on contracts and legal documents creation.

Cultura e identidade híbrida na obra do artista plástico roraimense Jorge Augusto Cardoso

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Este trabalho discute a cultura e a identidade roraimense e alguns desdobramentos, a partir do processo de hibridação representada na obra de arte do artista plástico, Jorge Augusto Cardoso. Para tanto, utilizamos fundamentos teórico-metodológicos oriundos dos Estudos Culturais para abarcar Cultura, Identidade, Linguagem Visual, Arte Regional, Regionalismo, Regionalidade, Hibridação e epresentação, visando analisar o processo de constituição identitária de Roraima, além de compreender seus elementos envolvidos neste processo, nos quais possibilitaram visualizar as formas de ser roraimense, revelados no cenário imagético do artista, permeados de diferenças e conflitos. Sob este prisma, diversas formas de representações simbólicas valorizadas no espaço regional, criadas pelo artista, foram estudadas, e novas concepções foram extraídas, ao mesmo tempo, gerando novas leituras. Dessa maneira, esta análise traz possibilidades de identidades desenvolvidas no sistema de representação contida na obra, na qual espaços foram criados e construídos, possibilitando aos sujeitos, posicionar-se e construir novas identidades; apropriar e reconstruir identidades para seu uso. / This paper discusses Roraima`s culture and identity and some developments from the hybridization process represented in the art work of the artist, Jorge Augusto Cardoso. For this purpose, we used theoretical and methodological foundations from Cultural Studies to cover Culture, Identity, Visual Language, Regional Art, Regionalism, Regionality, Hybridization and Representation in order to analyze the process of identity formation of Roraima, and to understand its elements involved in this process, which allowed us to view the forms of "being" Roraima, revealed in the artist imagery scenery, riddled by conflicts and differences. In this light, various forms of symbolic representations valued in the region, created by artist, were studied, and new concepts were extracted at the same time generating new readings. Thus, this analysis gives possibilities of identity developed in the system of representation contained in the work, in which spaces were designed and built, enabling subjects to position themselves and to build new identities; to appropriate and to reconstruct identities for their use.

A fonte principal da pesquisa é o Álbum 6 de litografias pertencente ao acervo do Arquivo Histórico da Fundação Museu Mariano Procópio, que contem 130 exemplares de impressos comerciais pertencentes a essa litografia. Buscou-se, também, a análise em fontes documentais encontradas no Setor de Memória da Biblioteca Municipal Murilo Mendes, no Arquivo Histórico de Juiz de Fora e no Arquivo Público Mineiro, onde foram examinados periódicos e documentos relativos à chegada e à produção do litógrafo italiano Pietro Angelo Biancovilli. O recorte temporal se inicia em 1888, quando o emigrante chega ao Brasil, e termina no ano de 1914, quando se encerram suas atividades comerciais. Consoante com as proposições da História Cultural, esta pesquisa concebe o exame das práticas e representações imagéticas, forjadas no âmbito da cidade de Juiz de Fora em fins do século XIX e décadas iniciais do século XX. / This research has the purpose to analize the visual accounts linked to the memory of local graphic industry, studying the settling of the first commercial lithography house in the State of Minas Gerais, the steam litography Pietro Biancovilli. The main source of the research is the “Álbum 6” of lithographies belonging to the collection of the Historical Archive of the Mariano Procópio Museum Foundation, with 130 pieces of commercial prints belonging to this lithography. It has been analized documental sources found in the Memory Department of the Municipal Library Murilo Mendes, in the Historical Archive of Juiz de Fora and in the Public Archive of Minas, where it has been examined periodicals and documents related to the arrival and production of the italian lithographer Pietro Angelo Biancovilli. The time researched begins in 1888, when the foreigner arrives to Brazil, and it ends in the year of 1914, when he closes his commercial activities. Regarding to the propositions of Cultural History, this research conveives the examination of practices and representations of images, forged in the Juiz de Fora life in the end of 19th Century and in the first decades of the 20th Century.

Les technologies omniprésentes dans notre environnement intègrent désormais des éléments logiciels facilitant leur utilisation. Ces technologies offrent un vaste laboratoire d’expérimentation pour la recherche et en particulier pour l’informatique appliquée. Ces technologies sont un support évident pour rendre des services aux personnes dans leur vie quotidienne. Ces services concernent divers champs d’applications, chacun servant des objectifs spécifiques : confort,sécurité, accès à l’information ou encore assistance à la personne. Puisque les applications offrant ces services sont intimement liées aux besoins des utilisateurs, il est indispensable qu’elles s’adaptent facilement à leurs besoins. Une manière de répondre à ce défi est de proposer à l’utilisateur des outils pour programmer lui-même ses applications.Notre contribution consiste non seulement à définir un tel outil, sous la forme d’un langage visuel paramétré par un champ d’applications, mais aussi à proposer une méthodologie dont l’objectif est de guider un utilisateur dans la programmation d’applications à l’aide de ce langage. Cette méthodologie est dédiée à l’orchestration d’entités communicantes : elles représentent les technologies déployées dans nos environnements. Notre approche, associant une méthodologie à un langage, est accessible à un programmeur novice et suffisamment expressive pour traiter divers champs d’applications. Afin d’augmenter la confiance de l’utilisateur dans le développement de ses applications, nous étendons la méthodologie en proposant une approche de développement dirigée par la vérification de quelques propriétés. Cette vérification est permise par la sémantique du langage, formellement définie. / Networked technologies, omnipresent in our surroundings, have increasingly more computing power, offering interfaces to easily access their functionalities. These technologies offer a widetesting ground for research, especially in applied computer science. They form an evident assistive support to help people in their daily activities. Applications that address people needs arefound in various application areas, each related to specific goals : comfort, security, information management, or assisted-living.The goal of this thesis is to propose an approach that bridges the gap between a user requirements and the applications that satisfy them. To do so, we define Pantagruel, an expressive and accessible visual language that is parameterized by an application area. To further reconcile accessibility with expressiveness, we provide the user with a domain-specific methodology toguide the development of applications. This methodology draws a bridge between the user needs and the applications, and is strongly coupled with the language concepts. In doing so, satisfying the requirements and evolving the applications according to new requirements is facilitated. To increase the user confidence in using Pantagruel language, and because the applications aimat being seamlessly integrated in his everyday life, Pantagruel programs need to be reliable.To this end, we extend our methodology with a programming approach driven by properties.These properties can be verified using the language semantics, which is formally defined.

Vizuální jazyk komiksu a design grafického uživatelského rozhraní / Visual Language of Comics and GUI Design

The thesis VISUAL LANGUAGE OF COMICS AND GUI DESIGN is based on an assumption that comics and GUI both use similar features and techniques to communicate with readers/users. GUI as an influential cultural interface is based on languages of other media and as it is shown in this thesis, comics is one of its sources. I discussed similar features of both media - GUI and comics - on the level of their characteristics, semantics and on the visual level. On a general level the main features discussed are convergence and hybridity or the requirements for skills of the reader/user. Very similar for comics and GUI are also the limits emerging from the characteristics of the media they are using. The principal part of this thesis searches for common visual features and finds them in simplifications, sequentiality and multilayer framing and also with features like icons or text. The case study focuses on Adobe Photoshop CS5 GUI from the comics point of view proving connections in practice and showing GUI in new a context.

Tratamiento gráfico de la sexualidad de villanas y antiheroínas de los cómics en la época del movimiento #MeToo / Graphic treatment of the sexuality of female villains and antiheroines from comics at the time of the #MeToo movement

El siguiente trabajo de investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el tratamiento de la sexualidad de las villanas y antiheroínas en los cómics de DC, Marvel e Image Comics, entre los años 2017 y 2020. En consecuencia, la hipótesis sostiene que el movimiento #MeToo, viralizado en el 2017, ha generado un cambio en la representación gráfica de las mujeres en los cómics de superhéroes. Por comprobarla, se ha realizado un análisis de contenido de veinticuatro números en total, seleccionando un personaje por editorial: Poison Ivy, Emma Frost y Jessica Priest, respectivamente. Se tomaron en consideración herramientas del lenguaje visual y su valor dentro del contexto narrativo. Igualmente, se realizaron entrevistas a una ilustradora de cómics, así como una especialista en cómics y estudios de género. Los resultados evidencian que Marvel presenta un tratamiento adecuado de Emma Frost, mientras que DC exhibe un diseño de personaje inconsistente con respecto a Poison Ivy. Por otro lado, la representación de Jessica Priest, por parte de Image Comics, muestra mayor disonancia en cuanto a decisiones artísticas y valor narrativo. Asimismo, la única editorial en la que se observa la inclusión de artistas mujeres en relación a estos personajes es DC, aunque aún no logran la paridad. Es posible concluir que el tratamiento de las villanas y antiheroínas no ha cambiado significativamente desde la aparición del movimiento #MeToo. Esto se debe a que la mirada masculina continúa viéndose reflejada en la libertad artística de las casas independientes y a la falta de la perspectiva femenina. / The following research aims to analyze the treatment of the sexuality of female villains and antiheroines in DC, Marvel and Image Comics between 2017 and 2020. Consequently, the study’s hypothesis holds that the #MeToo movement, that grew in popularity in 2017, has sparked a change in the graphic representation of women in superhero comics. Thus, twenty-four issues were examined using a content analysis method, selecting a character per publisher: Poison Ivy, Emma Frost and Jessica Priest, respectively. Visual language tools and their value within the narrative were considered in the investigation. Similarly, interviews were conducted with a comic illustrator and a specialist in comics and gender studies. The results show that Marvel presents an adequate treatment of Emma Frost, while DC exhibits an inconsistent character design when it comes to Poison Ivy. On the other hand, Image Comics’ handling of Jessica Priest shows greater dissonance in terms of artistic decisions and their narrative value. Likewise, the only editorial in which the inclusion of female artists is observed is DC Comics, although they have yet to achieve equality in job opportunities. In conclusion, the treatment of female villains and antiheroines hasn’t changed significantly since #MeToo went viral. This is evidenced in the way the male gaze continues to be reflected in the artistic choices of independent houses and also, in the lack of a female perspective in the superhero genre. / Trabajo de investigación

[pt] Desde o final dos anos 1980, inúmeras áreas de atuação do design passaram a ser viabilizadas através das tecnologias computacionais. Novos ambientes acadêmicos dedicados às mídias digitais estão sendo concebidos e, por suas particularidades, adotam enfoques ainda não consolidados no campo de conhecimento do design. No caso da habilitação em Mídia Digital da PUC-Rio (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro), implementada em 2007 no curso de graduação em Design, seu corpo docente ainda não conta com professores graduados em design de mídia digital, já que os primeiros profissionais formados nesta habilitação graduaram-se recentemente. Isso faz com que a habilitação seja estruturada por meio de diferentes áreas do saber e possibilita diferentes expectativas quanto aos resultados a alcançar nos projetos para mídias digitais. Quando confrontadas, estas diferenças de expectativa ora priorizam os aspectos formais do projeto, ora privilegiam as possíveis experiências daqueles que venham a utilizar os dispositivos projetados. A presente tese investiga os critérios utilizados para a avaliação acadêmica de projetos, tendo como universo de pesquisa os trabalhos de conclusão de curso desenvolvidos pelos alunos da habilitação em Mídia Digital. Como objetivos da pesquisa estão o destaque e a análise de tais critérios de avaliação acadêmica de projetos de design com base nos conceitos de síntese projetual, linguagem da forma e experiência do usuário. / [en] Since the 80s, many areas of expertise in the design field became possible by means of computer technology. Academic environments dedicated to digital media have been conceived and operate via approaches that remain unconsolidated in the field of design knowledge. In the case of the undergraduate program in Digital Media Design at PUC-Rio (Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro), implemented in 2007, professors graduated in digital media are still absent since the few designers that successfully completed this academic degree are recently graduated. This aspect contributes to the mixture of different areas of knowledge and permits different expectations as of the results to be pursued by digital medias. These expectations emphasizes, in one hand, the formal aspects of the project and, in the other, the possible experiences of the consumers of such project.This dissertation investigates the criteria used for the academic evaluation addressed to the projects final results and shall be constructed through the key concepts of project synthesis, language of form and user experience.

Sémiotická analýza komiksu v současných českých společenských časopisech v letech 2000-2015 / Semiotic analysis of comics in contemporary Czech social magazines in the years 2000-2015

This thesis deals with comics in the Czech news and cultural magazines after the year 2000. A new generation of comic creators emerged after the year 2000, so called Generation zero. These new creators are different from the older authors - especially from authors of Generation 89 - in many aspects. Using a semiotic analysis this thesis focuses on comics in contemporary periodicals: it attempts to uncover how various comics exist in news magazines (which are intended for a broad scale audience) and to what extent these comics match with the profile of the magazine. Additionally, in order to see a potential difference in results, cultural periodicals were also thoroughly analyzed. Included in the analyzed material are news magazines such as Reflex and Respekt and cultural periodicals like Art+Antiques and A2. In addition, it focuses on theoretical discussions regarding a proper definition of the word comic and on the relationship between linguistic and visual levels of comics because this relationship is essential in this form. Finally, the means of visual language in comics and the history of the Czech comics are discussed in the theoretical section as well.

Cette thèse, à caractère industriel, vise à répondre à une problématique de production de l’entreprise ITK. Par la mise en oeuvre des techniques de l’ingénierie dirigée par les modèles, nous proposons un environnement de modélisation et de simulation pour la croissance des plantes. Outre sa facilité d’utilisation pour les agronomes, le prototype obtenu permet la génération automatique de code Java des modèles à intégrer dans des outils d’aide à la décision exécutés sur une plateforme Java Enterprise Edition. / This PhD thesis has an industrial purpose. It is motivated by a software production issue met within the ITK company. Using the techniques provided by model-driven engineering, we propose a modeling and simulation environment dedicated to plant growth. The prototype achieved proves to be easy to use for crop modelers. It is also enhanced with a Java code generation feature. The models obtained from this code generation are designed to be integrated into decision support systems running on a Java Entreprise Edition platform.
