Förskollärares resonemang vid valet och användandet av böcker och appar / Preschool teachers' reasoning in the selection and use of books and apps

Fransén, Ellen January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to find out and compare how preschool-teachers choose literature and appendices to the departments based on their age and orientation. To answer my questions and my purpose, I use interviews in two different preschools. One preschool has a lot of focus on language and literature, from which I interview three preschool teachers from three different departments. The second preschool has more focus on digitization and various digital tools, from which I interview two preschool-teachers from the youngest as well as the oldest department. Choices of books and choices of apps are handled in a similar manner in the same department, but it may differentiate between preschools. It differs in planning and the influence of the children. According to the preschool-teachers, the quantity of books and apps have a big influence on the children’s learning and interaction.

Mobile Applications Evolution / Mobile Applications Evolution

Timsina, Achyuta, Prajapati, Shree Dimna January 2013 (has links)
Due to improved computing power, connectivity and interaction capability of mobile devices, their popularity and general acceptance in mass population has increased in recent years. Mobile applications are software systems running on mobile hand-held devices such as smart phones and tablets. Due to obvious differences in mobile applications, the evolution studies on them is of high importance. The primary objective is to study and compare the mobile applications evolution with the Lehman's laws of software evolution. Next is to identify and report how the software development team size influences mobile applications evolution. The study is conducted on 9 different open source mobile applications among which 5 were developed by single core developer and 4 were developed by multiple core developers. The selected projects' code repository is cloned into local copy and a number of tools are used on those repositories for extraction of relevant metrics from the artifacts. The Lehman laws are tested graphically, analytically and in some cases statistically. Six of the Lehman's laws are tested for validation in sample mobile applications. Among the six laws, I-Continuing Change is found supportive, III-Self Regulation and VI-Continuing Growth are found partial supportive in mobile applications. The II-Increasing complexity and V-Conservation of Familiarity are inconclusive. The IV-Conservation of Organizational Stability is not supportive in our sample mobile applications. Moreover, mobile applications are developed by a single or a few developers. Small team mobile projects have less time between releases compared to large team projects. The growth pattern of mobile applications is different than that predicted by Lehman laws.

Portering från Google Apps REST API till Microsoft Office 365 REST API

Danielsson, Tina January 2015 (has links)

Dynamic updates of mobile apps using JavaScript

Spetz-Nyström, Simon January 2015 (has links)
Updates are a natural part of the life cycle of an application. The traditional way of updating an application by stopping it, replacing it with the new version and restarting it is lacking in many ways. There have been previous research in the field of dynamic software updates (DSU) that attempt to salvage this problem by updating the app while running. Most of the previous research have focused on static languages like C and Java, research with dynamic languages have been lacking. This thesis takes advantage of the dynamic features of JavaScript in order to allow for dynamic updates of applications for mobile devices. The solution is implemented and used to answer questions about how correctness can be ensured and what state transfer needs to be manually written by a programmer. The conclusion is that most failures that occur as the result of an update and is in need of a manually written state transfer can be put into one of three categories. To verify correctness of an update tests for these types of failures should be performed.

Holographic point-of-care diagnostic devices

Yetisen, Ali Kemal January 2014 (has links)
Developing non-invasive and accurate diagnostics that are easily manufactured, robust and reusable will provide monitoring of high-risk individuals in any clinical or point-of-care environment, particularly in the developing world. There is currently no rapid, low-cost and generic sensor fabrication technique capable of producing narrow-band, uniform, reversible colorimetric readouts with a high-tuneability range. This thesis aims to present a theoretical and experimental basis for the rapid fabrication, optimisation and testing of holographic sensors for the quantification of pH, organic solvents, metal cations, and glucose in solutions. The sensing mechanism was computationally modelled to optimise its optical characteristics and predict the readouts. A single pulse of a laser (6 ns, 532 nm, 350 mJ) in holographic “Denisyuk” reflection mode allowed rapid production of sensors through silver-halide chemistry, in situ particle size reduction and photopolymerisation. The fabricated sensors consisted of off-axis Bragg diffraction gratings of ordered silver nanoparticles and localised refractive index changes in poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) and polyacrylamide films. The sensors exhibited reversible Bragg peak shifts, and diffracted the spectrum of narrow-band light over the wavelength range λpeak ≈ 500-1100 nm. The application of the holographic sensors was demonstrated by sensing pH in artificial urine over the physiological range (4.5-9.0), with a sensitivity of 48 nm/pH unit between pH 5.0 and 6.0. For sensing metal cations, a porphyrin derivative was synthesised to act as the crosslinker, the light absorbing material, the component of a diffraction grating, as well as the cation chelating agent. The sensor allowed reversible quantification of Cu2+ and Fe2+ ions (50 mM - 1 M) with a response time within 50 s. Clinical trials of a glucose sensor in the urine samples of diabetic patients demonstrated that the glucose sensor has an improved performance compared to a commercial high-throughput urinalysis device. The experimental sensitivity of the glucose sensor exhibited a limit of detection of 90 µM, and permitted diagnosis of glucosuria up to 350 mM. The sensor response was achieved within 5 min and the sensor could be reused about 400 times without compromising its accuracy. Holographic sensors were also tested in flake form, and integrated with paper-iron oxide composites, dyed filter and chromatography papers, and nitrocellulose-based test strips. Finally, a generic smartphone application was developed and tested to quantify colorimetric tests for both Android and iOS operating systems. The developed sensing platform and the smartphone application have implications for the development of low-cost, reusable and equipment-free point-of-care diagnostic devices.

Využítí nástrojů web 2.0 při výuce / Use of Web 2.0 technologies in education

Doubravová, Lucie January 2010 (has links)
The thesis Use of Web 2.0 technologies in education introduces the concept of Web 2.0 and its basic characteristics. The first chapter is based on the explanation of major tools and technologies labelled as Web 2.0. The second chapter deals with specific services which have already found its place in education process. The same chapter evaluates the ways of dealing with their appropriate use, particularly in higher education. This chapter contains also the examples of successful use in education. The thesis is mainly concerned about using Web 2.0 tools in the environment of Czech schools. As Web 2.0 services are not new, I asked students and teachers at the University of Economics in Prague and asked what experience they have with such instruments in their personal life, so in context of education. The third chapter is entirely devoted to survey the use of Web 2.0 tools in the practice of The University of Economics in Prague. Content of the final chapter is a reflection of what direction the web will evolve in the coming years. It also evaluates social issues associated with the turbulent development of the Internet and Web 2.0.

Hur uttrycker ungdomar sitt mående? -En analys av inlägg i appen ”Här ligger jag…”

Rivoire, Isabelle, Ängvig, Rebecka January 2020 (has links)
Bakgrund: Ungdomar i Sverige mår allt sämre psykiskt. / Background: Mental health problems are increasing for adolescents in Sweden. Few of them seek help from health care when they are feeling unwell. Children and adolescents psychiatry in Sweden have excessive waiting lists for help seekers and therefore few who require help are getting it directly when needed. Adolescents are at risk of worsening their mental health status without available professional help. An mhealth app have the potential to be an alternative for adolescents with mental health problems before they have a chance to receive professional help. Objective: The aim of the study is to highlight how adolescents express their mood in the ”Här ligger jag…” app. Methods: This study has a qualitative approach to the field. The collection of data was carried out during one week in March of 2020 with consent from the users. A total of 414 posts was collected and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: The result consist of five categories with expressions of feelings. It shows that adolescents have a need to express themselves about anxiety, depressive symptoms, loneliness, hatred and well-being. Conclusions: Nurses with knowledge about adolescents needs to express their mood could guide them to find mhealth apps which are available 24/7. Talking about mental health may be perceived as a difficult topic to discuss and therefore it may be easier in an anonymous forum.

AirSniffer: A Smartphone-Based Sensor Module for Personal Micro-Climate Monitoring

Smith, Jeffrey Paul 05 1900 (has links)
Environmental factors can have a significant impact on an individual's health and well-being, and a primary characteristic of environments is air quality. Air sensing equipment is available to the public, but it is often expensive, stationary, or unusable for persons without technical expertise. The goal of this project is to develop an inexpensive and portable sensor module for public use. The system is capable of measuring temperature in Celsius and Fahrenheit, heat index, relative humidity, and carbon dioxide concentration. The sensor module, referred to as the "sniffer," consists of a printed circuit board that interconnects a carbon dioxide sensor, a temperature/humidity sensor, an Arduino microcontroller, and a Bluetooth module. The sniffer is small enough to be worn as a pendant or a belt attachment, and it is rugged enough to consistently collect and transmit data to a user's smartphone throughout their workday. The accompanying smartphone app uses Bluetooth and GPS hardware to collect data and affix samples with a time stamp and GPS coordinates. The accumulated sensor data is saved to a file on the user's phone, which is then examined on a standard computer.
