Psychologické aspekty procesu akulturace s akcentem na vliv interpersonálních vztahů a sociálních sítí / Psychological aspects of acculturation with an emphasis on the impact of interpersonal relationships and social networks

Malá, Lenka January 2018 (has links)
The main idea of the dissertation is the question, what happens to a person when leaving boundaries of his cultural background. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the previous views on the acculturation and the gradual development of the reflections on the process of acculturation. Considering the individual conditions that can contribute to successful acculturation, the use of personality characteristics seems to be limiting and inadequate. Thus, the concept of competencies is introduced as a more relevant approach for research and applied psychology of acculturation. At the same time, family acculturation is presented in its conditions, strategies and results. Only limited attention in psychological research has been dedicated to this domain so far. The empirical part of the thesis further elaborates on the theoretical overview and deals with the question what distinguishes the successful humanitarian workers at the mission abroad in the organization People in need from those who fail and what role in this specific context the family, close personal relationships and social networks play. As a part of the study, there is a demonstration of the individual steps that can be taken when working with competencies outside of the specific case study and the presentation of a specific competence...

Commande d’une alimentation multi-bobines à caractère robuste pour chauffage par induction industriel / Control of a robust multi-coil supply for industrial induction heating

Egalon, Julie 26 September 2013 (has links)
In the context of reducing carbon dioxide emissions in industrial systems and improving their energy efficiency, induction heaters meet these criteria. The method consists in immersing an electrically conductive body in a variable magnetic field, inducing currents within the piece which then begins to heat by Joule effect. This technology has the advantage of reaching high temperatures accurately and quickly, without contact with the power source. Today the control of such works with mechanical structures. But many studies have shown that the combination of several coils supplied by electronic power systems provides flexibility in controlling temperature profiles and flexibility towards the treated parts. This paper presents two systems of induction heating. The first is a prototype made by EDF considering three inductors supplied by three resonant inverters. We will focus more specifically later on this prototype. The second one, in progress, involves six inductors for scrolling heating. Their characteristics, their power supplies and their functions are discussed and then set up two models of electric phenomena, one form of transfer functions and one form in the state space. The final objective is the development of a self-adaptive power able to control real-time power profile injected into parts of heating to achieve a temperature profile required with minimum energy consumption. The study goes on with a list of existing solutions in terms of open-loop control and closed-loop control for single inductor system, as well as few rarer works for multi-inductors heaters. In addition, studies have shown that control of the surface temperature of the piece to be heated passes by the control of currents in the inductors, in magnitude but also in phase. That is why we propose control laws for controlling inductor currents. An optimization routine provides the magnitudes and phases of the currents in the three inductors to obtain the temperature profile closer to a reference profile. We modified it to take into account energy optimized solutions by integrating the losses in the switches and inductors. Two original control laws are proposed. The first one studies a robust control in the state space by placing eigenvalues and eigenvectors. The second one involves resonant markers that give the system loop gain module infinitely large at the resonant frequency so that they erase the effects of disturbances acting at the same frequency. The methods of synthesis of these markers are sampled with a very low sampling frequency / resonant frequency ratio; performance are detailed and analyzed for the prototype with three inductors. So as to test and validate easily some of the studied laws, an analog simulator was designed, a kind of an emulator, which reproduces the behaviour of the currents in the coils and the voltages at their terminals. It is based on the transfer function model and therefore does not include inverters. Through a dSPACE card integrating a DSP, we have implemented and validated the two robust control laws on the analog simulator. Thereafter, in order to be closer to the real system, we have established a close control which turns the three control signals toward the duty cycles of the twelve switches of the converters supplying the inductors. This step was validated by experimental tests carried out in parallel with our studies.

Modélisation de l'interaction entre le champ magnétique d'une étoile et une planète extrasolaire proche / Interaction of a close-in extrasolar planet with the magnetic field of its host star

Laine, Randy Olivier 17 July 2013 (has links)
The numerous and diverse extrasolar planets detected since 1995 provide much inspiration for planetary astrophysics. A fraction of these extrasolar planets orbit their host stars at semi-major axes less than 0.1 AU; a planet which has migrated toward its host star would thus first encounter a strong magnetized wind and, as it enters the stellar magnetosphere, strong magnetic fields. We model the interaction of such a close-in extrasolar planet with the dipolar magnetic field of its host star and study separately the time-dependent and independent components. The time-dependent interaction gives rise to Eddy currents confined in the planet. We investigate two effects that may transfer angular momentum to a planet approaching its host TTauri star through type II migration: a Lorentz torque that transfers angular momentum from the stellar spin to the planetary orbit and a mass loss induced by the ohmic dissipation in the planet, which may transfer angular momentum to the planet as the gas is accreted onto the star. We model the time-independent interaction with the unipolar inductor model, which allows the current induced in the planet to flow along a closed loop constituted by the planet, the flux tube, and its footprint on the stellar atmosphere. We self-consistently calculate the ohmic dissipation in the planet and the star and the associated Lorentz torque. We then suggest that the ohmic dissipation may provide the extra energy needed to explain some planets with inflated radii. Finally, we propose that the model may also be used to remotely infer the electric conductivity of the outer layers of super-Earths interacting magnetically with their host stars.

In the Close-Enough Traveling Salesman Problem, rather than visiting the vertex (customer) itself, the salesman must visit a specific region containing such vertex. To solve this problem, we propose a simple yet effective exact algorithm, based on Branch-and-Bound and Second Order Cone Programming. The proposed algorithm was tested in 824 instances suggested in the literature. Optimal solutions are obtained for open problems with up to a thousand vertices. / This research focuses on the construction of humor in interaction, in social meetings of a group of friends. The aim of this study is to explore the complexity and ambivalence of humor in relationships marked by proximity and affection. Assuming that conversational humor is a relational and collaborative phenomenon that depends on knowledge of group norms and is generated by a possible breach of expectation with respect to knowledge schemes, we sought to describe how humorous sequences are organized, identify what types of humor emerge in conversation and what functions humor plays in the context under study. Through an interactional approach to humorous communication and with contributions from Conversation Analysis, we find that humorous sequences are constituted by other sequences involving participants who ‘hunt’ or who leave triggers for humor and, in some cases, other participants who feed the one who started the humorous sequence. In terms of types of humor, we identified irony, fantasy humor (Hay, 2001), jocular mockery (Haugh, 2010; Haugh and Bousfield, 2012) and jocular abuse (Hay, 1994; Haugh, 2010; and Haugh Bousfield, 2012). Regarding fantasy humor, we proposed two categories: an exaggerated fantasy humor and an absurd fantasy humor. Both involve the joint construction of an imaginary world with its own logic, with irrational and absurd rules that do not apply to the real world (Hay, 2001), but the first one is categorized by the joint construction of a world known by the participants, and the second one, a nonsense world. We show that jocular mockery may be directed at the self of one of the group members or may be hybrid, targeting the self, a third person or an object. As for the functions of humor, we highlight entertainment as the main function of humor in the group. As secondary functions are: i) humor as the guardian of interpersonal relationships in moments of potential conflict, and ii) humor as threat to relations when some aspect of the self is considered sacred, that is, non-negotiable as an object of humor. In conclusion, we emphasize the role of humor in strengthening personal relationships, the values of the group and sanctity of friendship.

Yeats, Myth and Mythical Method : A Close Reading of the Representations of Celtic and Catholic Mythology in “The Wanderings of Oisin” / Yeats, Myt och Mytisk Metod : En "Close Reading" av framställningen av keltisk och katolsk mytologi i "The Wanderings of Oisin"

Sperens, Jenny January 2013 (has links)
“The Wanderings of Oisin” was published in 1889 and is one of W.B Yeats’ earliest poems and is the main focus for this essay. The poem depicts the duality of Irish identity and the transition from one system of belief to another. This essay will demonstrate that W.B Yeats uses Celtic and Catholic mythology in “The Wanderings of Oisin” in order to reflect his contemporary Ireland. The essay begins with a deifintion and a discussion about the words 'myth' and 'mythical method'. The second part of the essay describes the depiction of Celtic and Catholic mythology in “The Wanderings of Oisin” and the connection to late nineteenth century Ireland. The first section presents information on Irish nineteenth-century history and the second section focuses on five parallels to Yeats' contemporary society: The vitality of Celtic mythological beings, the depiction of Oisin as mediator, the sense of loss regarding Irish culture, the juxtaposition of Celtic and Catholic and the ambivalence that follows in a society where two conflicting mythologies coexist and compete. The main body of arguments discusses these parallels between Yeats’ portrayal of Celtic mythology and nineteenth century Ireland and shows that "The Wanderings of Oisin" reflects Yeats' contemporary Irish society.

Excitation des hydrures d’azote par l’hydrogène atomique et moléculaire / Excitation of nitrogen hydrides by atomic and molecular hydrogen

Bouhafs, Nezha 27 October 2017 (has links)
Observation and study of interstellar molecular clouds require the knowledge of molecular data to derive the physical conditions (temperature, gas density, molecular abundance) of these media. Nitrogen hydrides are highly abundant species in the interstellar medium and they are found to be important reaction intermediates in the nitrogen chemistry. The interpretation of nitrogen hydrides observations from the HERSCHEL spatial observatory and the ALMA interferometer, requires accurate collisional rate coefficients of these molecules. The present thesis focuses on the determination of new rate coefficients for NH, NH2 and NH3 molecules in collision with Ne, H2 et H, respectively. Inelastic cross sections for the rotational excitation of all the studied systems have been computed with a close coupling method using the molecular dynamic codes MOLSCAT and HIBRIDON. The cross sections are then used to calculate the collisional rate coefficients for temperatures ranging from 5 to 200 K. The new rate coefficients were included in radiative transfer calculations in order to model the observed transitions of NH2 towards high-mass star-forming region W31C. We show that using the previously published rate coefficients instead of these new ones have a significant impact on the modeling, leading to important differences on the density, abundance and on the OPR of NH2. The new data will allow to put interesting constraints on the physical condition of the molecular cloud.

The treatment of electoral conflicts inside electoral institutions : United States 2000 - Mexico 2006

Castillo Vaquera, Jorge Galileo 18 June 2009 (has links)
The intervention of the judiciary power to solve a ballot in last resort, arise several problems concerning the progress of the representative democracy, and even a paradox: the principle of the democratic representation by an indirect vote of the citizens can be put forward by the judiciary interpretation on the meaning of the ballot's votes. At the same time, the intervention of the judiciary as an independent power constitutes a guarantee of impartiality for the political resolutions, seeking to reinforce the trust of the main social and political protagonists about the electoral administration. We are also faced with the problem of the political rationality versus the legal rationality, constantly put forward during electoral conflict contemporary processes as essential protagonists but nearly antagonistic ones, by the fact that they pursue close but distinct interests.
