611	Rehabilitation of long-term offenders in a maximum security prison Setelela, Rocksley 02 1900 (has links) Abstracts and keywords in English, Afrikaans, Zulu and Northern Sotho / The main aim of this study is to obtain the MASTER OF ARTS degree. Secondly this study gives clarity on the study of long-term offenders in a maximum security prison. Offenders detained in maximum security prisons are given long-term imprisonment by the court of law. Long-term imprisonment goes along with high level of stress in correctional facilities. As a result, the development and treatment programs offered for inmates form part of the study. This study is important for the South African correctional system due to some of the categories of offenders in maximum security prisons. / Die hoofoogmerk van hierdie studie is om ŉ MAGISTER-graad te verwerf. Die studie gee tweedens duidelikheid oor die bestudering van langtermynoortreders in ŉ maksimumsekuriteittronk. Oortreders wat in maksimumsekuriteittronke aangehou word, word langtermyngevangenisstraf opgelê deur ŉ geregshof. Langtermyngevangenisstraf word geassosieer met hoë stresvlakke in korrektiewe fasiliteite. Die ontwikkeling- en behandelingprogramme wat aan gevangenes gebied word, vorm deel van hierdie studie. 612	Ab-initio-Untersuchungen von Oberflächen- und Bulksystemen Greuling, Andreas 21 December 2010 (has links) In dieser Arbeit setzen wir ab-initio-Methoden zur Untersuchung einiger Oberflächensysteme und eines Bulksystems ein. Im Wesentlichen greifen wir hierbei auf die Dichtefunktionaltheorie (DFT) und die GW-Approximation (GWA) im Rahmen der Vielteilchenstörungstheorie zurück. Wir nutzen diese Methoden um die Adsorption von TMA auf der Rutil TiO2-Oberfläche zu untersuchen, optische Spektren von TiO2 zu berechnen und um die Adsorption von [7]-HCA auf der Calcit(10-14)-Oberfläche zu verstehen. 613	THE ONE EXHIBITION THE ROOTS OF THE LGBT EQUALITY MOVEMENT ONE MAGAZINE & THE FIRST GAY SUPREME COURT CASE IN U.S. HISTORY 1943-1958 Edmundson, Joshua R 01 June 2016 (has links) The ONE Exhibition explores an era in American history marked by intense government sponsored anti-gay persecution and the genesis of the LGBT equality movement. The study begins during World War II, continues through the McCarthy era and the founding of the nation’s first gay magazine, and ends in 1958 with the first gay Supreme Court case in U.S. history. Central to the story is ONE The Homosexual Magazine, and its founders, as they embarked on a quest for LGBT equality by establishing the first ongoing nationwide forum for gay people in the U.S., and challenged the government’s right to engage in and encourage hateful and discriminatory practices against the LGBT community. Then, when the magazine was banned by the Post Office, the editors and staff took the federal government to court. As such, ONE, Incorporated v. Olesen became the first Supreme Court case in U.S. history that featured the taboo subject of homosexuality, and secured the 1st Amendment right to freedom of speech for the gay press. Thus, ONE magazine and its founders were an integral part of a small group of activists who established the foundations of the modern LGBT equality movement.
