Die Validität einer Multisite-Gemeindestruktur : Systematische Erforschung und Darstellung der Multisite-Ekklesiologie / The validity of a multi-site church structure : systematic research and representation of multisite ecclesiologySchmid, Daniel 15 November 2017 (has links)
Text in German with English and German summaries / The New Testament teaching on the church structure associated with the Systematic Theology is being investigated and discussed under the term ecclesiology. Therefore, this is about the contextualization of the main terms: Ecclesia, the body of Christ, Positions (Acts, teachers, bishop, elders, etc.). In this climactic situation I will write my work and critically analyze the postmodern model of the multi-site and compare it to other post-modern models including their main exponents who are also trying to respond to today's situation. It is through the critical examination of the contextualization of the multi-site - relating to the New Testament understandingof the church – that full attention is given to the context of this world and the Christian identity is preserved by referring back to the Scriptures. The identity of the multisiteneeds to be examined through the pluralization of religious providers and compared toother ecclesiological models in order to gain new insight and understanding.
Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. Th. (Systematic Theology)

Gemeindezucht : eine Untersuchung zu Theorie und Praxis im täuferisch-mennonitischen Kontext / Church discipline : an examination of theory and practice in the Anabaptist-Mennonite contextPlessing, Daniel 11 1900 (has links)
The issue of church discipline was a concern for all reformers. Whereas the discussion of this issue had its peak during the period of dialectic theology, it has become very quiet around this subject within the Protestant Church. With some exceptions, neither theoretical reflection nor practical application of church discipline is taking place within the Protestant Church. The situation is, however, a little bit different within the Anabaptist-Mennonite church community. Anabaptist-Mennonite Churches view the matter of church discipline with a relatively higher level of importance. However, great uncertainty seems to persist with respect to the question of how to apply church discipline in a practical, responsible and appropriate way. The limited literature published on the subject of church discipline is often restricted to a mere description and discussion of corresponding Bible references. As a rule, one does not include theological, ecclesiological and church-historical reflections within this literature. The purpose of this research is to close this gap by achieving well-founded conclusions which will make it possible for Anabaptist-Mennonite Churches to, once again, apply church-discipline responsibly. The first part of the research includes a literature review. The second part is a case study using document analysis. In order to arrive at practical impulses, the subject of church discipline will be evaluated, assuming from five central questions, from three different perspectives and synthesized or discussed. These three perspectives are the Anabaptist-Mennonite ecclesiology, the New Testament and the Anabaptist-Mennonite church history. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. Th.
At present, South Africa, in contrast with countries abroad has a serious disposition regarding the availability of literature dealing with churchgrowth as such. Due to a lack of professional churchgrowth consultants, churchgrowth had been neglected and a gap of deficiency has occured thus hindering the different stages in churchgrowth.
This study is an in - depth, theological and critical study of churchgrowth as well as the managerial aspects thereof. Much devotion has been endeavoured upon this thus delivering a model example with which churchgrowth consultants could embark upon
congregational analysis and profiling. In colaboration with leaders and members of congregations, long - term planning can be done. All this in a South Africa which had been deprived from this valuable service for so long. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / D. Th. (Practical theology)

Mystik und Koinonia: Das ekklesiologisch-missiologische potential mystischer spiritualitat / Mysticism and Koinonia: The ecclesiological and missiological potential of mystical spiritualityBreidenbach, Roy 02 1900 (has links)
This work mainly asks for the potential of christian mysticism for the Ekklesia, Koinonia and
the mission of the Church. In order to this, it is considered that the term mysticism is difficult
to grasp by definition, for there is no clear definition of the term mysticism. Due to this fact
irritations and misunderstandings are caused, especially in the protestant and evangelical
Christianity, that have no traditional anchoring of mysticism in their life of faith, as it is the
case in the catholic Church for example. At this point, the work at hand defines in an afferent
first part, what christian mysticism is, in distinction to esoteric phenomena or non-christian
mysticism.
The following part asks for the practical forms of christian mysticism with reference to
four selected samples of spiritual exercises. At this place, psychological issues are considered
too, as well as the question for the mystagogy.
In the next part of this work, the relationship between the christian mysticism and
Koinonia, Ekklesia and the mission of the Church will be considered. At this point, the
occurance of community as a connecting element for these issues is in the focus of interest.
Finally, this work outlines a mystical ecclesiology, as it is now possible and
conceivable on the basis of the foregoing considerations. The potential of christian mysticism
for church development and the mission of the church will be clarified, as well as the need for
empirical research and testing of the shown theory by some practical suggestions. / Biblical and Ancient Studies / D. Th. (Missiology)

Uberwindung der Milieufixierung in Freien evangelischen Gemeinden in Deutschland: ein vergleich aktueller ekklesiologischer Entwurfe / Breaking through the fixation of the social milieu of free evangelical churches in Germany: a comparison of current ecclesiological modelsEndlich, Markus January 2020 (has links)
gezogen. / The study discusses the milieu fixation found in the Free Evangelical Churches in Germany, the
potential internal and external causes of it and asks how milieu fixation might be overcome by current
oikodomic strategies. The effects of milieu fixation are evaluated by looking at membership
development, slow congregation growth owing to lower levels of conversion, and the reasons for
stagnation and decline in congregations. Thereafter the history of specific ecclesiological and
organisational structures of Free Evangelical congregations (FeG), as well as the social changes in
German society in recent decades, are examined and analysed. A specific focus is placed on
identifying possible causes leading to the formation of milieus. The main part of the study consists of
a systematic analysis and comparison of five oikodomic models applied in the Federation FeG,
together with a comparison of potential models for reversing milieu fixation. Finally, six propositions
are laid out to draw a possible conclusion for practically building up the church in the Federation of
Free Evangelical Churches.
Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. Th. (Practical Theology)

And don't forget to do good" : the societal relevance of diaconal work of the Evangelical Community Association Hessen-Nassau : a qualitative inquirySchuss, Andreas 11 1900 (has links)
This research analyses the relevance of diaconal action of a regional German community association in its social environment. The explorative study aims to give insight into the social relevance, developments in diaconal practice and the general understanding of diaconia prevalent in this brethren association. After an introduction focusing on practical theology and church history, the study concentrates on the planning, implementation and results of interviews applying the empirical-theological practice cycle. These interviews with ten experts were part of the main research. Through applying the grounded theory, six typologies of diaconal relevance in society emerged from several coding processes. These types were arranged in a 3x3 matrix showing diaconal relevance for society (minimal – increasing – prominent) and eschatology (negative – neutral – positive) as coordinates. The research results formed the basis of ideas presented for further development of the sphere of diaconal action in this community association. / Practical Theology / M. Th. (Practical Theology)

'n Hermeneuties-empiriese strategie rakende die verskynsel van kerkkrimping in tradisioneel Afrikaanse susterkerke in Suid-Afrika : 'n prakties-teologiese studie / Sophia van HeldenVan Helden, Sophia January 2010 (has links)
The phenomenon of the decline in numbers in traditionally Afrikaans “sister
churches” - in the midst of the complex South African society of the first decade of
the 21st century - was researched in the light of the command that Jesus himself gave
to his church (Math 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8). The Great Commission directed the aim
of the research to evaluate this phenomenon hermeneutically and empirically in order
to develop a reformed strategy in a practical theological way. The grounding of the
investigation was the communicative action theory, which simultaneously integrates
with a basic theoretical model developed from a combination of basic theoretical
models as suggested by Dingemans, Heitink en Zerfass. To reinforce the
exegetical/hermeneutical perspective of the basic theory, a historical study was
conducted regarding the growth and decline of power basises since the Jesus
movement until now. The interaction between perspectives was subsequently
extended by metatheoretical perspectives, based on the research regarding the
influence of schools of thought, as well as the influence of circumstances in the
country, which determine the “sister church” praxis of the 21st century. The
traditionally Afrikaans “sister churches” as a problematic ecclesiastical community of
practice was further examined as part of the empirical perspective. On this basis an
attempt was made to gauge the thinking of the “sister churches” in the intricate and
problematic ecclesiastical praxis. The gauging was executed by means of a random
test in one of the “sister churches”, namely the Reformed Church of South Africa
(GKSA). It was found that this problematic church praxis is directed by strong
institutional thinking. An adjusted practice theory, as well as a supporting practical
theoretical model, were formulated in order to realise a reformed strategy for church
growth as opposed to the decline in numbers. Considering the above mentioned
interactive perspectives, the conclusion was reached that the praxis in the “sister
churches” at the beginning of the 21st century, functions in an ecclesiastically
imbalanced way. The imbalance lies in the fact that Christ-centred thinking, and thus
also Christ-centred ecclesiology (as balancing thinking and balancing ecclesiology),
does not manifest in “sister church” thinking. The unbalanced thinking as an all-encompassing factor in the church praxis, confirms and promotes the tendency of the
decline in numbers. The proposed strategic perspective as the adjusted practice theory
is thus a contribution to formulating an obedient, covenant-centred and reformed
answer to declining numbers. This adjusted strategy can bring about the wonder of
revival and growth in the “sister churches” by means of the basic theoretical truth
elements, which were pointed out in this research. / Thesis (Ph.D. (Pastoral))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2011.

The relationship between Spirit, Church and Society in Jürgen Moltmann and in the current Pentecostal TheologyHaller, Immanuel 01 1900 (has links)
Pneumatology became an ongoing and relevant topic, especially for the ecumenical theology. „The oblivion of the Spirit“ recedes to a large extend into the background and thus makes space for the process that has not yet been fully completed, that is to say, the „rediscovery of the Holy Spirit“. For a missional and socially relevant theology, the focus is again and again on the question of defining the relationship between God, Church and Society. From a pneumatological point of view the
investigations are greatly lacking. Therefore, this paper intends to contribute to the discussion of a) how in Jürgen Moltmann’s theology – and in comparison to it in the current Pentecostal theology – Spirit, Church and Society relate to each other and to what purpose; and b) what are the strengths and weaknesses of each approach and which consequences can be drawn from them. By comparing the models of these two leading initiators, there occurs a solid basis for a discussion of how to define the relationship, or at best, the interplay between Spirit, Church and Society. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M.
