The feminine eroticism in Rome, in Latium and in Campania, under Julio-Claudians and Flavians : researches for social history

Girod, Virginie 01 October 2011 (has links)
The functioning of the Roman society was based partially on the distinction of genre and social group. It was particularly strong in the eroticism. Over all the social groups was situated that of the free men whose sexual role was the one of dominating - penetrating. Actually, the Roman type eroticism can be defined as being phallocentric. By opposition, all other categories of persons formed the group of dominated penetrated. Nevertheless, the degree of submission of each was determined by its position on the social scale. The stout women had access to an eroticism restricts who was procreative. Other women, to a certain extent, could be used by the men as instruments of pleasure. So, the prostitution always had an important role in Rome. The prostitutes had an important mission. But, all the sexual practices were not allowed and if, contrary of the matronae, the prostitutes could adduce forms of sexuality for not being pregnant, the practices considered perverse (scopophilia, exhibitionism, agalmatophilia, etc.) were banished, according to the morality, of all the beds.

La vie dénudée à l'épreuve du paysage ˸ une analyse des films érotiques et révolutionnaires de Kôji Wakamatsu et Masao Adachi / When bare life confronts landscapes ˸ an analysis of Wakamatsu Kôji and Masao Adachi’s erotic and revolutionary films

Paradis-Barrère, Hugo 29 November 2018 (has links)
In Japan, the 1960s open an era of political and artistic protests. The decline of traditional film studios is followed by the development of violent genre movies and pinku eiga (erotic films). New filmmakers like Kôji Wakamatsu and Masao Adachi emerge, shooting films in which nudity echoes a constant thirst for revolution, both questioning the erotic nature of bodies and criticizing the contemporary society. Crime and deviation become a new way of protesting, while eroticism allows for a counter-narrative of human relationships. Echoing this interrogation, films of the fûkeiron, the “landscape theory”, address the question of the future of individuals confronted with the landscapes of the modern world. Overexposed bodies from pink cinema are now confronted with bodies that are absent, expelled from both the visible world and the official history. Criminals, revolutionaries, nymphomaniacs, all those bare lives elude the traditional classification and show a new way toward emancipation, sometimes leading to their self-destruction. This visual and narrative subjugation of the body under an organization that exceeds him questions the possibility of a radically new narrative. In the interval that separates figuration bodies from bodies capable of their own narrative, bare lives from qualified lives that are the byproduct of a rationalized system, a dialectic emerges that question flesh as a fundamental potential of images, a potential that might be the only one capable of breaking apart the way too smooth landscapes of modernity.

Men's Health / Abstract: This dissertation begins in October 2004, when I worked as a research assistant on Thematic Project: Gender, corporeality of the Center for Gender Studies (Pagu.) What this research showed was that, in Brazil, there the diffusion of a "politically correct eroticism" (GREGORI, 201 O) in the universe of erotic market . Eroticism whose characteristics are: sex I eroticism displaced from their sense of transgression and increasingly more associated with the source of pleasure, mental health and body health. During the empirical research conducted between stores and employees of this erotic market [survey conducted from October 2004 to December 2007], I contacted a large number of journalists and reporters, making in this places articles about sex for magazines. This gave rise to the hypothesis that perhaps extrapolating the erotic market, the "politically correct eroticism" also is being disseminated by magazines. These magazines could be viewed as manuais of this kind of eroticism? The objective of this dissertation is to observe how and if occurs the spread of "eroticism politically correct" on the pages of two magazines Nova and Men's Health / Mestrado / Antropologia Social / Mestra em Antropologia Social

Sakellarides, Thalia 12 1900 (has links)
Love, death and suffering are among some of the most incomprehensible experiences confronting man during his life. They define his nature and make up an integral part of his symbolic universe. The Leucadian Leap is deemed to have been practiced for more than a thousand years. Appearing in mythical, religious as well as in historical narratives, the ritual is attested by the first historians in Antiquity who explain this phenomenon from the data of the antique historiography. The traditional meaning of the leap is inscribed in Greek mythological context and the leap is thus relief from passionate love. The nature of the ritual changes according to literary contexts, from a purely erotic rite, to a apotropaic rite, to see it being perpetuated in a deconsecrated manner in later texts. Analysis of the different functions of the leap seem to point toward an extreme death-defying experience where death was experienced in a metaphorical manner and provides a hypothesis for the ritual’s ordalic nature as a basis for its pragmatic efficiency. This study purports to analyze the Greek mental forms as expressed anthropologically through the dialectic of myth and ritual and aims at understanding the interpretation of love suffering within the context of a leaping ritual in Ancient Greece. The Leucadian Leap would thus appear to correspond to a specific discourse which would testify to a certain conception of human nature, of death, of love and of suffering in Ancient Greece’s collective imagination.

Do corpo ao texto: a mulher inscrita/escrita na poesia de Hilda HiIst e Ana Paula Tavares / From the body to the text: the engraved/written woman in the poetry of Hilda Hilst and Ana Paula Tavares

Souza, Mailza Rodrigues Toledo e 15 December 2009 (has links)
Taking as an object of study poetic works from Hilda Hilst, Brazilian; and Ana Paula Tavares, Angolan, this inquiry aims to discuss characters from the identity construction culturally attributed to the feminine condition, derived from the erotic demonstrations poetically represented in the work of these authors. Though they are writers not straightly linked to a literary feminist program, while representing poetically the eroticism they contribute to promote the emancipation of women. Therefore, the erotic construction and the citizenship construction have been associated and analyzed in this project simultaneously from a literary and a social-existential angle.

Quando necessário, outras edições da obra camoniana foram igualmente consultadas, sempre prevalecendo o corpus acima determinado / This work supports the thesis that some of the verses from Luis Vaz de Camoens present, in some moments, facts that open the possibility to be read from this point of view: as manifestations of what centuries after became known, first in Psychology, and, soon after, in Psychoanalisis, as fetishism. The several lyrical subjects open possibility for this reading, because the stories are many and very similar to what was later named by Alfred Binet as fetishism: “plastic love”. The intention here is to observe the attitudes and what say the lyrical subjects in the verses, and, from this observation, compare them with the various definitions present in the body of this Dissertation. The methodology used was scanning the corpus to meet, first, all the references made to parts of the body; objects that have significance for their degree of eroticism; the fabrics, the clothes and pieces of headwear; the articles added to the love-object and the pygmalionism. This study had enough breath to become a Master’s thesis, for having found critical fortune about this theme in the book Camoens and the initiatory journey, by Helder Macedo. This critical fortune is here considered the starting point for the entire study. The corpus selected for this study consists of Camonian Rhymes the text of which was established by Alvaro J. Costa Pimpão (CAMÕES, 2005) and of The Lusiads whose edition adopted here was organized by Emanuel Paulo Ramos (CAMÕES, 2011). When necessary, other editions of Camoens’ works were also consulted, always prevailing corpus determined above

Étude comparée sur «l'écriture du corps» chez Calixthe Beyala et Ahlam Mosteghanemi / Comparative studies on "body writing" in Calixthe Beyala and Ahlam Mosteghanemi

Dib, Abir 09 February 2015 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is the study of way tow African novelists describe the body ; Ahlam Mosteghanemi from Algéria and Calixthe Beyala from Cameroon. Our analisis traces the writings about the body to a symbolic structure where social discourses meet literary practices. The writings about the body, male or female, are studied from a perspective locked in the problematics of social and literary practices. More than a simple description, the body becomes an esthetic disguise through which the two novelists bypass censorship to tackle all their cultural taboos. Thus the sphere of the body combines discourses of subversion and reversal as well as negotiation and self censorship. What’s more, the body subject of literature bears in itself a tearing, a division and a suffering and seems to only understand and live its existence in pain and difficulty. This literal body that feels and suffers expresses a relationship to the world and to others and is part of a quest for self-affirmation.
