Sjuksköterskans förebyggande och hälsofrämjande omvårdnadsarbete kring barn och ungdomars psykiska ohälsa och psykosomatiska symtom : En litteraturöversikt / The nurse’s preventive work and mental health promotion work with children and adolescents with mental illness and psychosomatic disorders : A literature review

Pråhl Lundin, Nilla January 2019 (has links)
Background: Psychosomatic disorders and mental illness are increasing among children and adolescents. Conceptual description of various health conditions in mental health and illness, psychosomatic and mental disorder are needed, along with an understanding of the impact of risk factors and protective factors for mental health disorders in children and adolescents. The nurse’s preventative and supportive work on mental health interventions promotes mental health and wellbeing. The psychiatric nurse's health promotion work is based on trust and respect, this to identifying mental illness and being able to direct efforts and preventing a further disease progression. Aim: The aim was to describe the nurse's preventive work and the mental health promoting interventions in the care of children and adolescents with mental and psychosomatic disorders. Another aim was to describe the need for the psychiatric nurse's collaboration through her specific knowledge in the care of children and adolescents with mental illness. Method: An integrative review of fourteen peer reviewed articles. Article searches were conducted in the databases CINAHLComplete, PSYCInfo and PubMed. Whittemore and Knafl's (2005) work process in method was applied and divided into the work in five stages. Theoretical background was Eriksson's nursing theory. Results: The result showed that the nurses preventive work and mental health promotion interventions with children and adolescents with mental illness and psychosomatic symptoms consisted of a variety of disease prevention measures such as prevention program, early identification of symptoms and early intervention with appropriate interventions. Further results highlight the need for the psychiatric nurse's collaboration and guidance through their specific knowledge in the care of children and adolescents with mental illness. Conclusion: The nurse is in a position to assist the families, children and adolescents intervening with their prevention work and interaction regarding mental illness. The result shows that empathy and responsiveness develop trusting relationships with the children for early identifying psychosomatic disorders and dealing with mental illness. Effective health promotion interventions within and outside the health sector can further build children's self-esteem and resilience. Increased constructive collaboration in mental health care creates increased quality of care. The psychiatric nurse has a collaborative role and supervisory function by supporting and contributing with her specialist knowledge in the school, child health and child health care.

Diskussioner om mat i idrottsmiljön : En studie om kvinnliga innebandyspelares upplevelser av diskussioner om mat i deras idrottsliga omgivning / Discussions about food in the sports environment : A study on female floorball players' experiences of discussions about food in their sporting environment

Svensson, Emmy January 2023 (has links)
Background: Women's experiences of how nutrition is discussed in their sporting environment is relatively unexplored. At the same time, existing research shows that the negative health consequences that can arise from an incorrect diet can be prevented by the athletes receiving proper education and support in the matter, while other research shows that other factors, in addition to knowledge and attitude, that influence the food choices that the athletes do should be explored. Purpose: The purpose of the study is to investigate how young female floorball players experience that nutrition is discussed, formally and informally, in their sporting environment. Method: A qualitative research method with semi-structured interviews have been used. These have been analyzed using a thematic content analysis. Results: Leaders are perceived to influence their players through calls for a good diet but leave room for interpretation as to what constitutes a good diet. Leaders and teammates are perceived as supportive, while a reduced dietary intake emerged as a theme among teammates' discussions. Throughout, a lack of discussions about nutrition is experienced in the sporting environment. Discussion: Discussions about nutrition in the sporting environment are experienced as varied and to some extent complex. In order to be considered a health-promoting sports association, there are more efforts to be made.

Hälsofrämjande åtgärder i arbetslivet : En kvalitativ studie som undersöker kontorsarbetares upplevelser av de hälsofrämjande åtgärder arbetsplatsen erbjuder / Health promotion measures in work life

Eriksson, Emma January 2023 (has links)
In recent years, sick leave due to stress-related mental health problems has increased. As society aims to reduce the cost of sickness absence, it´s important to gain knowledge to implement successful health promotion measures in workplaces. The workplace is described as an ideal platform to perform the interventions. In this study, the aim is to investigate workers who have an office job and their experiences of the health promotion measures offered by the workplace. To answer the purpose, a qualitive method has been used in form of semi-structured interviews. The study uses a holistic perspective on health and KASAM as a theoretical frame of reference. How the respondents experience the health interventions offered by the workplace and how they would like employers to act to promote health are presented in the results. To analyze the results, content analyses were performed. The results showed that the experience of how the workplace work to promote health varied depending on various factors. The health care allowance, the physical work environment and the employers care for the overall health are described as the most important health interventions among the respondents. The workplace ability to promote social, physical and mental health was described by all respondents as something they wished the workplace would do. Knowledge is described as a crucial factor for health promotion. The respondents all felt that the workplace need to work more to promote health than what they currently do. The study provides an insight into how the health promotion is experienced by office workers and what they believe would be needed to promote health in working life. Further research in this area is needed to enable workplaces to implement successful interventions.
