Adorno (1984, 1992, 1994, 1995, 2002, 2010), Max Horkheimer (1984, 1980) and Walter Benjamin (1970, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1992), the proliferation of the apparatus of the culture industry becomes, gradually, the formative experience increasingly scarce and superficial. The society of information is the same that nevertheless, imposes on its subject a condition of semi-formation to expropriate them the signs of interaction with the world, especially in the establishment of a form of instrumental language. In infancy, the formatting of the bodies through the school subject, which ignores the subjective forms of expression of the child, supports with the gradual curtailment of the possibilities of human emancipation. This research aimed to understand how multiple languages in childhood are decoded in the school environment as an unruly act, and to be repaired by formatting the children's bodies, so this practice relates to a semi-formative educational model. / Conforme os estudos desenvolvidos pela Teoria Crítica da Sociedade, particularmente Theodor W. Adorno (1985, 1992, 1994, 1995, 2002, 2010), Max Horkheimer (1985, 1980) e Walter Benjamin (1970, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1992), a proliferação do aparato da indústria cultural torna, gradativamente, a experiência formativa cada vez mais escassa e superficial. A sociedade da informação, é a mesma que em contra partida, impõe a seus sujeitos uma condição de semiformação ao expropriar-lhes os signos de interação com o mundo, sobretudo na constituição de uma modalidade de linguagem instrumental. Na infância, a formatação dos corpos através da disciplina escolar, que ignora as formas de expressão subjetiva da criança, corrobora o cerceamento gradual das possibilidades de emancipação dos homens. Esta pesquisa objetivou compreender como as múltiplas linguagens na infância são decodificadas no ambiente escolar enquanto ato indisciplinar, e ao serem remediadas através da formatação dos corpos do infanto, de que forma tal prática relaciona-se com um modelo educacional semiformativo

Granulosa cell anti-Müllerian hormone secretion in ovarian development and diseaseKoskela, S. (Sanna) 19 November 2013 (has links)
Abstract
Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) was identified originally in connection with its role in male sexual differentiation. In females, AMH is secreted by ovarian granulosa cells of growing follicles and its serum levels correlate well with the remaining number of follicles, thus reflecting ovarian reserve. The aim of this study was to explore the expression and secretion of AMH in human ovarian development and in various disorders resulting in decreased reproductive function.
In fetal ovaries, AMH expression was found to be initiated at midgestation and it increased gradually towards term. In serum samples from infant girls, transient postnatal activation of the pituitary-ovarian axis was found and it occurred later in premature infants, reflected in lower serum AMH levels and lower numbers of growing follicles. This immaturity resulted in insufficient feedback from ovary to pituitary and may explain the higher levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) in these girls.
Ovarian follicle reserve is typically diminished in women with primary ovarian insufficiency (POI). Assay of serum AMH may be used to identify women with POI and existing follicles, as women with FSH receptor mutation who were known to have follicles had serum AMH levels in low normal range and girls/women with Turner syndrome mosaicism had higher serum AMH levels compared with those with other karyotypes.
The diagnostics and follow-up of ovarian granulosa cell tumors (GCTs) are challenging as a result of the rarity of the disease and late possible recurrences. Assay of serum AMH combined with assay of the currently used marker inhibin B was shown to improve follow-up of GCTs in individual patients, compared with serum inhibin B measurement alone. The analyses revealed that AMH and inhibin B assays perform similarly in detecting macroscopic tumors.
Continuous use of combined hormonal contraceptives inhibited ovarian activity independently of the administration route, as serum AMH levels decreased significantly and similarly during oral, transdermal or vaginal administration. The decrease of serum AMH levels indicates that AMH is secreted partially from FSH-dependent follicles.
The study provides novel information on AMH secretion in ovarian development, and the use of AMH assay in assessing ovarian reserve and detecting ovarian disorders such as ovarian insufficiency and GCTs. / Tiivistelmä
Naisen munasarjassa munarakkuloiden granuloosasolut erittävät anti-Müllerian hormonia (AMH), ja sen pitoisuudet seerumissa heijastavat jäljellä olevien munarakkuloiden määrää. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin AMH:n eritystä ja ilmentymistä munasarjan kehityksen aikana ja erilaisissa munasarjan toiminnan häiriötiloissa.
Tuloksina havaittiin, että AMH:a ilmentyy sikiökaudella munasarjassa jo keskiraskaudesta eteenpäin. Syntymän jälkeen otetuissa seeruminäytteissä todettiin ohimenevä aivolisäkkeen ja munasarjan aktivaatio, joka ilmeni myöhemmin ennenaikaisesti syntyneillä tytöillä. Heillä havaittiin vähemmän kasvavia munarakkuloita ja matalammat seerumin AMH-pitoisuudet syntymän jälkeen kuin täysiaikaisilla tytöillä. Tämä kypsymättömyys johtui todennäköisesti munasarjan riittämättömästä palautejärjestelmästä aivolisäkkeeseen, mikä voi selittää korkeammat follikkelia stimuloivan hormonin (FSH) pitoisuudet ennenaikaisesti syntyneillä tytöillä.
Ennenaikainen munasarjojen toiminnan hiipuminen voi johtua esim. kromosomi- tai geenivirheestä. Naisilla, joilla on virheellinen FSH-reseptori, tiedetään olevan munarakkuloita jäljellä, ja tulokset osoittivat seerumin AMH-pitoisuuksien olevan lähes normaali näillä naisilla. Myös tytöillä ja naisilla, joilla on todettu Turnerin oireyhtymän mosaikismi, AMH-pitoisuudet olivat merkittävästi korkeammat verrattuna muihin karyotyyppeihin. Täten AMH-määrityksen avulla voidaan mahdollisesti löytää ennenaikaisesta munasarjojen toiminnan hiipumisesta kärsivien joukosta ne naiset, joilla on vielä jäljellä munarakkuloita.
Munasarjan granuloosasolukasvaimen diagnostiikka ja seuranta ovat haastavia kasvaimen myöhäisen uusiutumistaipumuksen ja harvinaisuuden vuoksi. Tulokset osoittivat, että seerumin AMH-määrityksen yhdistäminen tällä hetkellä käytössä olevaan inhibiini B -määritykseen voisi parantaa yksittäisten potilaiden seurantaa makroskooppisen kasvaimen toteamisen osalta.
Tutkimus osoitti hormonaalisten yhdistelmäehkäisyvalmisteiden jatkuvan käytön vähentävän munasarjan aktiivisuutta merkittävästi annostelureitistä riippumatta, koska seerumin AMH-pitoisuudet laskivat samalla tavalla ehkäisypilleriä, -rengasta ja -laastaria käyttävillä naisilla.
Tutkimus toi uutta tietoa AMH:n erityksestä munasarjan kehityksen aikana sekä AMH-määrityksen käytön mahdollisuuksista munarakkuloiden määrän arvioinnissa ja eri häiriötilojen tunnistamisessa.

Assessment of problems in the transportation of blind and deaf childrenStuart, Colleen Mary January 1977 (has links)
This study was a preliminary step in an assessment of the transportation services accessible to blind and deaf children in Vancouver. It originated in response to the ever increasing concern voiced within the community about the problem of inadequate transportation facilities for handicapped children. The purpose of the research was to determine the extent to which public and special transportation services are accessible to children with visual and hearing impairments and to propose improvements that might be made.
In order to research this problem, four basic methods of collecting information were employed, as follows: documentary analysis interviews and correspondence with transportation experts; mailed questionnaires to parents of blind and deaf children; and, personal interviews using the same questionnaire. The sample population was randomly selected from blind and deaf children between the ages of 6 and 19 years who were affiliated with Jericho Hill School in the 1974-75 school term. Sixty-one (48%) questionnaires were completed and used in this study.
Findings regarding mobility limitations showed that the sample population was quite mobile and over half reported not having to rely on special aids to help them get around outdoors. Of those requiring some kind of aid, most used either a cane or another person.
Travel data were obtained for three trip destinations: school medical facilities, and recreational activities. Findings showed the children were not restricted in travel to recreational activities. Transportation to medical facilities was not found to be a problem because the majority of the children used those provided at Jericho Hill School. Access to school transportation was not reported to be a problem in itself; however, it was found that the trip from home to school was problematic in terms of travel time and safety requirements
It is a conclusion of this study that if Jericho Hill School remains as a central facility a more localized shuttle service would be the maximum requirement. However, if decentralization occurs the provision of a parallel system run on a demand-responsive basis would be necessary.
It is apparent from this study, which has attempted to review the range of problems and needs for transit of blind and deaf children that problems for them are perhaps common to all handicapped children. / Medicine, Faculty of / Population and Public Health (SPPH), School of / Graduate

Le projet littéraire d’Hernán Ronsino (Chivilcoy, Argentine, 1975) présente actuellement une charnière spatiale et temporelle qui, sans laisser de côté sa poétique sur la langue, s’apprête à retrouver un nouvel élan. Cet auteur a commencé à publier dans les années 2000, moment où des nouvelles maisons d’édition ont ouvert leurs portes aux jeunes écrivains, peu connus. Dans ce contexte de renouveau, les questionnements sur la langue littéraire se sont multipliés. Le travail de Ronsino propose depuis cette époque une réflexion sur la langue et sur la condition linguistique des êtres humains. Il intègre dans la diégèse cet état d’esprit expérimental vis-à-vis de la langue littéraire. Lorsque le champ littéraire questionnait sa langue, cet écrivain a bâti son projet à partir de la poétisation de ces réflexions. Son rapport à la langue est pour nous l’aspect le plus important de sa poétique.L’étude que nous proposons dans cette thèse cherche à déterminer les piliers de son projet, ainsi qu’à formuler, à travers ses mots lorsqu’il s’exprime dans des entretiens à propos de son écriture, des catégories qui permettent d’analyser son travail créatif. Cette perspective méthodologique constitue, à notre sens, un point de départ conséquent dans notre démarche de croisement du texte fictionnel et de la parole de l’écrivain. Pour développer ces propos, nous présentons une thèse à deux parties.Dans la première partie, divisée en trois chapitres, nous menons une étude intégrale de la stylistique de ses quatre premiers livres. Nous analysons la manière dont Ronsino travaille la temporalité d’un point de vue transtextuel, s’appuyant sur la figure de la répétition. Les liens établis avec d’autres textes deviennent une caisse de résonance construisant une image du régime d’historicité. À cet égard, la répétition sert à élaborer une organisation temporelle à l’intérieur de son projet, ainsi qu’à insérer dans son propre discours la formulation d’autres écrivains. Ronsino cherche surtout à faire de la phrase la face visible d’une « poétique de l’accent ». En effet, nous trouvons au sein de son projet le désir d’écrire l’oralité de son village natal.Dans la deuxième partie nous abordons deux notions dérivées de la poétique de l’accent: l’espace et le corps. La matérialité du livre est au centre d’un intérêt pour une écriture historiquement dense. Cette matérialité participe à la poétisation de l’espace réel et met en avant une approche de la littérature en tant qu’art graphique. Dans ces circonstances, le corps joue un rôle déterminant à l’heure de penser l’écriture dans la dimension gestuelle et corporelle. Il s’agit, après tout, d’une pratique qui engage pleinement le corps. Ainsi, la littérature peut entraîner une pensée du corps qui permet une approche biopoétique des textes. / Hernán Ronsino's literary project (Chivilcoy, Argentina, 1975) presents a spatial and temporal hinge that, without leaving aside its poetics on the language, is about to regain a new momentum. This author began publishing in the 2000s, when new publishing houses opened their doors to young lesser-known writers. In this context of renewal, questions about the literary language have multiplied. Since then, Ronsino's work has been a reflection on language and the linguistic condition of human beings. In his diegesis, he integrates this experimental state of mind vis-à-vis the literary language. When the literary field questioned his language, this writer built his project from the poetization of these reflections. His relation to language is for us the most important aspect of his poetics.The study that we propose in this thesis seeks to determine the pillars of his project, as well as to formulate, through his words when he expresses himself in interviews about his writing, categories that make it possible to analyze his creative work. This methodological perspective is, in our opinion, a starting point in our approach to cross the fictional text and the writer's words. To develop these words, we present a two-part thesis.In the first part, divided into three chapters, we conduct an integral study of the stylistics of his first four books. We analyze the way in which Ronsino works temporality from a transtextual point of view, based on the figure of repetition. Links established with other texts become a box of resonance building an image of the regime of historicity. In this respect, repetition serves to elaborate a temporal organization within one's project, as well as to insert in one's speech the formulation of other writers. Ronsino seeks, above all, to make the sentence the visible face of a "poetics of the accent". Indeed, in his project we find the desire to write the orality of his native village.In the second part, we address two notions derived from the poetics of the accent: space and the body. The materiality of the book is at the center of an interest in historically dense writing. This materiality contributes to the poetization of real space and puts forward an approach to literature as a graphic art. In these circumstances, the body plays a decisive role when it comes to thinking about writing in the gestural and corporal dimension. It is, after all, a practice that fully engages the body. Thus, literature can lead to a body thinking that allows a biopoetique approach to texts.

pour l’enfant. Toutefois le lien d’attachement père-enfant se formerait
différemment du lien d’attachement mère-enfant. Les pères sont souvent plus
engagés que les mères dans des activités ludiques, moins dans des activités de
soins. Les jeux faits avec le père sont souvent plus physiques aussi, plus
stimulants. En incitant son enfant au jeu de façon sensible, le père devient un
tremplin pour l’exploration de son enfant et le développement de sa confiance
en soi et en l’autre. C’est en tant que figure d’ouverture sur le monde que le
père aurait une plus grande influence sur le développement de son enfant. C’est
ce que nous apprennent les études sur l’engagement paternel. Jusqu’à
maintenant peu d’auteurs ont étudié l’engagement des pères en même temps
que l’attachement père-enfant, mais plusieurs proposent déjà que cette fonction
d’ouverture sur le monde expliquerait la formation du lien père-enfant. La
relation d’attachement père-enfant serait basée sur une relation d’activation.
L’objectif de la présente thèse est précisément de mieux comprendre la nature
du lien d’attachement père-enfant. Deux articles composent cette thèse. Le
premier article est théorique et fait une recension de la littérature sur
l’attachement père-enfant et l’engagement paternel. Le deuxième article est
empirique et propose justement de vérifier l’influence de l’engagement paternel
sur la formation du lien d’attachement au père. En tout 53 dyades pères-enfants
ont participé à cette étude. L’engagement des pères au niveau du réconfort, de
la stimulation et de la discipline a été évalué lorsque les enfants avaient entre 12
et 18 mois. À cet âge, la qualité d’attachement et de la relation d’activation ont aussi été évaluées, respectivement avec la Situation étrangère et la Situation
risquée. Les deux mises en situation ont ensuite été comparées pour voir
laquelle prédit mieux le développement des enfants à l’âge préscolaire, au
niveau des compétences sociales, des problèmes intériorisés et des problèmes
extériorisés. Les résultats obtenus indiquent que la Situation risquée prédit
mieux le développement socio-affectif des enfants (compétences sociales et
problèmes intériorisés). Aucun lien n’a été trouvé avec la Situation étrangère,
même en tenant compte de l’engagement du père au niveau du réconfort. Ces

However, the mechanism behind father-child attachment appears to be different
and unique. Compared to mothers, fathers engaged in more playful activities
with their children, less in nursing activities. The games they do together are
also more physical and more exciting. By encouraging his child to explore in a
sensitive way, a father becomes a catalyst for risk-taking, helping his child to
become confident in himself and in others. That function of opening children to
the outside world would have an important impact on children’s socioemotional
development. That is what we have learned from studies on father
involvement. Until now, very few researchers have studied father involvement
and father-child attachment at the same time, but many of them are already
suggesting that it is by opening up children to the outside world that fathers
become important attachment figure for them. Father-child attachment would
build on the quality of their activation relationship. The present thesis aimed
precisely at improving our understanding of father-child attachment. Two
articles are included. The first article is a theoretical one. It is review of what
has been written up to now on father-child attachment and on father
involvement. The second article is empirical. It is specifically about evaluating
the influence of fathering on the mechanism behind father-child attachment. A
total of 53 father-child dyads were included in the present study. Father involvement in comfort, stimulation and discipline was measured when
children where between 12 and 18 months old. At this age, attachment and
activation quality was also measured, respectively with the Strange Situation
and the Risky Situation. The two procedures where then compared to see which
one was better able to predict children level of social competency, internalizing
problems and externalizing problems during preschool years. Results indicates
that the Risky Situation is a better predictor of children’s socio-emotional
development (social competency and internalizing problems). No relationship
was found with the Strange Situation, even when considering father
involvement in comfort. Those results support the activation relationship theory
and the importance of openness to the outside world for fathers. This study
limitations, as well as it’s theoretical and methodological implications will be
explained in the discussion of the second article and in the conclusion of the
present thesis.

O "perigo moral" em tempos de segurança nacional : políticas públicas e menoridade em Caxias do Sul - RS (1962-1992)Becher, Franciele January 2012 (has links)
Essa dissertação tem por objetivo analisar as políticas públicas de assistência à infância e à juventude órfã, desamparada, abandonada e/ou infratora na cidade de Caxias do Sul – RS, entre os anos de 1962 e 1992. Busca estabelecer reflexões que transitam em duas direções: por um lado, investiga as relações dessas políticas municipais com as diretrizes das políticas públicas nacionais, inscritas no contexto da Doutrina de Segurança Nacional da ditadura civil-militar (1964-1985), e personificadas pela atuação da Fundação Nacional do Bem-Estar do Menor e das Fundações Estaduais de Bem-Estar do Menor. Essas diretrizes, amparadas juridicamente pela “Doutrina de Situação Irregular” legitimada no Código de Menores de 1979, buscavam formas de controle e contenção da infância carenciada, criminalizando e responsabilizando as crianças e jovens pela situação de pobreza em que se encontravam. Por outro lado, procura situar possíveis descontinuidades entre as ações desempenhadas pelo poder público municipal e as políticas normativas nacionais, já que a cidade de Caxias do Sul contou com um serviço assistencial municipalizado, a Comissão Municipal de Amparo à Infância, criado em 1962. Considera, também, as transformações da área da assistência pública após a promulgação da Constituição de 1988 e do Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente, que trouxe consigo a noção de “Proteção Integral” e de garantia de direitos. Para a realização da pesquisa, foram utilizadas fontes institucionais, periódicas e orais, categorizadas tematicamente e analisadas de acordo com a narrativa cronológica do trabalho. Em um primeiro momento, considerou-se a trajetória da institucionalização de crianças e jovens no Brasil e no Rio Grande do Sul, dando-se especial destaque às transformações ocorridas ao longo da ditadura civil-militar e do processo de redemocratização do país. Em seguida, a realidade assistencial da cidade de Caxias do Sul foi analisada a partir de uma subdivisão que contemplou primeiramente as décadas de 1960 e 1970 e, posteriormente, as transformações da década de 1980 e 1990, até a criação do Conselho Tutelar da cidade, em 1992. As políticas públicas para a assistência ou institucionalização de crianças e jovens de Caxias do Sul combinaram benemerência, proteção e filantropia, enquadradas dentro da lógica da “Situação Irregular”, conjuntura que vai gradualmente se modificando ao longo da década de 1980, com a autocrítica e a transformação das instituições. No que se refere aos infratores, as iniciativas caxienses transitaram entre o confinamento, a reclusão e algumas ações de reeducação, sobretudo no período da redemocratização brasileira e da transformação das políticas nacionais para a infância. Episódios de desrespeito aos direitos humanos, estigmatização por parte da imprensa e extermínios de crianças e jovens pobres fizeram parte da realidade caxiense do período. Por outro lado, Caxias do Sul criou importantes instâncias protetivas, abrindo caminho para a reestruturação de sua rede de proteção dentro da lógica da garantia de direitos do Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente. / This dissertation has as its main objective analyze the public policies of assistance to orphan, helpless, abandoned and/or offending childhood and youth in Caxias do Sul / RS, between 1962 and 1992. It searches to establish reflections that move toward two directions: on one hand, it investigates the relations of these municipal policies with the guidelines of the national public policies, entered in the context of the Doctrine of the National Security of the civil-military dictatorship (1964- 1985) and personified through the performance of National Foundation for the Welfare of Minors, and the State Foundations of Welfare of Minors. These guidelines, legally protected by the ‘Irregular Situation Doctrine”, legitimated in the Minors Code of 1979, sought forms of control and contention of the deprived childhood, criminalizing and putting responsibility in the children and young people for the poverty situation in which they found themselves. On the other hand, it searches to place possible discontinuities among the actions performed by the municipal government and the national regulatory policies, since Caxias do Sul had an assistance service municipalized, the Municipal Commission for the Support of Children, created in 1962. It also considers the transformations in the public assistance area after the Constitution of 1988 and the Statute of Child and Adolescent were enacted. They brought with them the notion of ‘Full Protection” and the guarantee of the rights. To execute this research, institutional, periodical, and oral sources were used and they were categorized thematically and analyzed according to the chronological narrative of the research. In the first moment, the trajectory of the institutionalization of children and teenagers in Brazil and in Rio Grande do Sul was considered, emphasizing the transformations occurred during the civil-military dictatorship and the process of bringing back the democracy to the country. Following, the caring reality in Caxias do Sul was analyzed from a subdivision that considered first the 1960s and the 1970s and, after, the transformations in the decades of 1980s and 1990s, until the creation of Tutelary Council in town, in 1992. The public policies to assistance or institutionalization of children and teenagers in Caxias do Sul matched benevolence, protection and philanthropy, situated inside a logical of the ‘Irregular Situation”, conjuncture that modifies gradually along the 1980s, with the self-criticism and the transformation of the institutions. In relation to the offenders, the initiatives from Caxias do Sul moved between the confinement and some reeducation actions, mainly when democracy was coming back to Brazil and in the moments of transformation of the national policies to infancy. Episodes of disrespect to the human rights, stigmatization by the press and extermination of deprived children and teenagers were part of the reality from Caxias do Sul in that period. On the other hand, Caxias do Sul created important protective instances, opening ways to the restructuration of its net of protection inside de logical of the guarantee of the rights from the Statute of Child and Adolescent.

Previous issue date: 2007-08-22 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This dissertation is presented as a requirement for the title of Master in Visual Arts, being part of the Education of Visual Arts research line. Its theorical central axle is an explanatory study about colors in childhood, over all about childrens in preschool. Some important theorical aspects have been observed, such as: the choice and the use of colors, the cultural and partner-familiar aspects, beyond the imagination itself, having Vygotsky as the main theoretical base. Beyond the theorical research, this dissertation also includes a Field Research in a Junior Education School, in the city of Florianópolis. For a more detailed study, two children have been chosen: a four years old boy and a five years old girl. During the field research, it has been collected some artistic works of both children, as well as interviews with the children and their parents. Some domestic visits have also been included in the research, in which the researcher had the oportunity to get in contact with each children's life context, and also take photos of their personal objects for data usage.The methodology used for the Field Research analysis was the "Content Analysis", by Bardin.Using this methodology, two main analysis categories have been presented: "Cores, interação social e contexto sociocultural: uma complexa trama na infância" and "Cor e imaginação: o fio da infância na construção do conhecimento", each one of them subdivided in its own respective categories / A presente dissertação apresenta-se como requisito para a obtenção do título de Mestre em Artes Visuais, estando inserida na linha de pesquisa Ensino das Artes Visuais. O eixo teórico central é um estudo exploratório sobre a cor na infância, com crianças em fase pré-escolar. Para tanto, foram observados aspectos teóricos importantes no que se refere: à escolha e ao uso das cores, aos aspectos culturais e sócio-familiares, além da própria imaginação tendo como base principal o suporte teórico de Vygotsky. Juntamente com a pesquisa teórica, tal dissertação incluiu também uma pesquisa de campo em uma escola de Ensino Infantil de Florianópolis. Para um estudo mais detalhado, foram escolhidas duas crianças: um menino de 4 anos de idade e uma menina de 5 anos de idade. Durante a pesquisa de campo foram coletados materiais artísticos destas duas crianças, bem como foram realizadas entrevistas com as próprias crianças e com seus pais. Foram também incluídas visitas domiciliares, nas quais a pesquisadora teve a oportunidade de entrar em contato com o contexto de cada uma das crianças, fotografando objetos de uso pessoal das mesmas para inclusão de dados práticos. A metodologia utilizada para a análise dos dados da pesquisa de campo foi a .Análise de Conteúdo., fundamentada por Bardin. O "perigo moral" em tempos de segurança nacional : políticas públicas e menoridade em Caxias do Sul - RS (1962-1992)Becher, Franciele January 2012 (has links)
Essa dissertação tem por objetivo analisar as políticas públicas de assistência à infância e à juventude órfã, desamparada, abandonada e/ou infratora na cidade de Caxias do Sul – RS, entre os anos de 1962 e 1992. Busca estabelecer reflexões que transitam em duas direções: por um lado, investiga as relações dessas políticas municipais com as diretrizes das políticas públicas nacionais, inscritas no contexto da Doutrina de Segurança Nacional da ditadura civil-militar (1964-1985), e personificadas pela atuação da Fundação Nacional do Bem-Estar do Menor e das Fundações Estaduais de Bem-Estar do Menor. Essas diretrizes, amparadas juridicamente pela “Doutrina de Situação Irregular” legitimada no Código de Menores de 1979, buscavam formas de controle e contenção da infância carenciada, criminalizando e responsabilizando as crianças e jovens pela situação de pobreza em que se encontravam. Por outro lado, procura situar possíveis descontinuidades entre as ações desempenhadas pelo poder público municipal e as políticas normativas nacionais, já que a cidade de Caxias do Sul contou com um serviço assistencial municipalizado, a Comissão Municipal de Amparo à Infância, criado em 1962. Considera, também, as transformações da área da assistência pública após a promulgação da Constituição de 1988 e do Estatuto da Criança e do Adolescente, que trouxe consigo a noção de “Proteção Integral” e de garantia de direitos. Para a realização da pesquisa, foram utilizadas fontes institucionais, periódicas e orais, categorizadas tematicamente e analisadas de acordo com a narrativa cronológica do trabalho. Em um primeiro momento, considerou-se a trajetória da institucionalização de crianças e jovens no Brasil e no Rio Grande do Sul, dando-se especial destaque às transformações ocorridas ao longo da ditadura civil-militar e do processo de redemocratização do país.
