Hallberg, Magdalena, Larsson, Stefan January 2011 (has links)

Company Act amendment impact the company to apply corporate reorganization and the proposal of Insolvency Law

Chen, Hsin-Ming 13 September 2007 (has links)
Industrial structure in domestic market demand in Taiwan has changed in recent years, with most apparent changes occurring in traditional enterprises moving outwardly and prosperity in high-tech industries, both of which are strongly associated with technology, financial capital, and human resources. If businesses are run carelessly, corporations are at high risk of going out of business or bankrupt. Once this occurs, corporations will go into liquidation or reorganization, which will inevitably affect the investment market and the society as well. In other words, the outcome of a corporation bankruptcy could contribute to a variety of problems, such as unemployment, non-absolved debt, and uncollectible financial accounts, which will require some assistance in finding resolutions. These problems are dramatically interfering with the stability of our society. The system of corporate reorganization was mainly created for alleviating the consequences mentioned above. Corporations facing financial problems could file for corporate reorganization. With corporate reorganization, the corporation could reach a resolution to satisfy the overall financial responsibilities and have harmony among its employees, stockholders and creditors, and maybe even revitalize the business. However, in realistic judicial practices, some regulations seem to be inadequate for the purpose of the corporation reorganization mechanism. Moreover, the time from filing a corporate reorganization to having a resolution is too long and typically exceeds the average business lifespan of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises). As a result, specialists and scholars debate on whether to re-write or abolish the current corporate reorganization rules and regulations. That is, due to the fact that the characteristic and requirement of corporate reorganization have received criticism in the practical use and practice, there is a need for evaluating and analyzing the legislation of corporate reorganization, and in fact, making it the top priority. The authorities are concerned and realized the importance and urgency of corporate reorganization in practice, so the CEPD proposed a ¡§corporate reorganization and bankruptcy¡¨ act in 2005. This act is attempting to research and indicate the dispute among the drafts, hoping to solve the problems, inefficiency, and injustice in present corporate reorganization system and contribute to legislation that will create a harmony among conflicts of interest with the litigants by means of judicial practice, related-literature, and opinions thus far.

Låt inte maten tysta mun : En intervjustudie kring bemötande, brister och förbättringsmöjligheter mellan restaurangverksamheter och tillsynsmyndigheter / Don't let the food silence you : An interview study about the relationship, deficiencies and improvement possibilities between restaurants and the environment and heath authority

Hoffstedt, Johan, Miss, Rebecca January 2018 (has links)
Food controls of restaurants are an important part of the work on environment and health at the environmental offices in Norrköping and Linköping municipality in Sweden. This is a study written by Johan Hoffstedt and Rebecca Miss at Linköping University. The purpose of the study “Låt inte maten tysta mun” was to chart the experience of the relationship and dissemination of information between restaurants and the environment and health authorities according to food inspectors as well as the chefs of the restaurant business. The aim of the study is also to investigate how previous research relates to the results of the study. A qualitative method was chosen, and eight semi structured interviews were conducted with four chefs and four food inspectors. The results showed that the response and the relationship between chefs and food inspectors was perceived as good by both parties, but a lack of information dissemination and communication was noted by the respondents. There were also shortcomings when it came to ways to contact, language resources, and the frequency of inspections according to respondents. The study concluded that there were improvement opportunities connected to digital solutions, proactive information, more frequent inspections and more directed information in a short, concise and accessible manner. Greater cooperation between environmental agencies and the Swedish Food Administration could facilitate information dissemination to restaurants.

Holmgren, Helga, Meidanipour, Parisa January 2016 (has links)
Food inspection is a part of the Environment Department in Stockholms stad. Their work, among other things, involves inspections of restaurants in different areas of Stockholm. An important part of the working process is the importance of inspectors managing to work professional and impartial. The intention of the study ”En studie av interaktionen vid livsmedelskontroll – ett intersektionellt perspektiv på mötet mellan livsmedelsinspektörer och restaurangägare och -personal”, written by Helga Holmgren and Parisa Meidanipour, is to find out how the inspector and the owner of the restaurant and the personnel interact. The study has a qualitative approach where observations and interviews have been made. The theoretical framework involves intersectional perspectives as well as Goffman’s dramaturgical perspective and the power perspective of Foucault. The results of the study primarily show that cooperation between inspectors and owners of restaurants and personnel is a qualification for the work to be able to progress. It also shows that owner of restaurants and personnel as well as inspectors use strategies during the meeting to maintain their face. The power is constantly present in the interaction between inspectors and the owner of the restaurant and personnel, while who possesses the power in the interaction shift.

Human Inspection Variability in Infrastructure Asset Management: A Focus on HVAC Systems

Pratt, Clayton Michael 05 January 2024 (has links)
Human inspection is a pivotal component of infrastructure asset management within a systems thinking approach to civil engineering. Skilled inspectors are tasked with the evaluation of various civil infrastructure components, conducting assessments of their conditions, identifying maintenance needs, and determining necessary repairs. Despite the growing interest in advanced technologies and automated inspections, the use of human-in-the-loop procedures is still widely practiced. Humans are susceptible to cognitive bias, variability, or uncertainty when inspecting infrastructure, and finding solutions to reduce these factors is paramount. This study presents a comprehensive exploration of inspection variability within infrastructure asset management, drawing insights from datasets of the BUILDER Sustainment Management System (SMS) program. The research delves into infrastructure inventory, inspector data, and inspection data components of an asset management database, shedding light on variability in human inspection. Variations in inspection ratings revealed significant concerns, particularly in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, with notable disparities between inspection ratings and condition ratings. Inspector variability analysis, through Coefficient of Variation calculations, indicated substantial disparities within and among inspectors. Further analysis, including Tukey's HSD test, pinpointed significant variability in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) and Fire Protection system inspections. Moreover, this study addresses the specific challenge of reducing inspection uncertainty in HVAC systems. HVAC systems play a critical role in facility energy consumption, and their maintenance is vital to energy efficiency and occupant comfort. However, HVAC-specific inspections primarily require human involvement, making them time-consuming and prone to error. Addressing the challenges surrounding human inspection of HVAC systems, this research presents a multifaceted approach to reduce variability. Drawing from a review of existing literature on HVAC inspection uncertainty, this study extends its focus to the development of predictive models. These models considered parameters including inspection ratings, age-based obsolescence, section condition indices, component characteristics, and unique inspectors . Utilizing Linear Regression, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting Regression, this model accurately predicted Variability Ratings, signifying the potential for implementation as a decision support tool. Importantly, the findings highlight the need to not only understand the factors affecting HVAC inspection variability but to actively implement technological solutions that can reduce human error and variability in inspections. / Master of Science / Infrastructure inspection is crucial for maintaining buildings and facilities, but it often comes with human errors and uncertainties. This study looks at the inspection process, focusing on case studies and data from the BUILDER Sustainment Management System (SMS) program. It reveals that inspectors sometimes evaluate the condition of parts of a building differently, leading to inconsistencies and poor overall management. One significant area of concern is heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. These systems play a critical role in facility energy use and can be challenging to inspect accurately. Previous research has shown that work experience, training, education, and other factors tend to contribute to variability in how inspectors assess HVAC systems. This research not only highlights these issues but also develops predictive models to reduce the variability of HVAC inspections. By doing so infrastructure can be managed correctly and ultimately lead to improved building lifecycles.

What Do Videogames Want?: Preserving, Playing and not Playing Digital Games and Gameplay (Introduction)

Newman, James 08 August 2024 (has links)
Videogames are, without doubt, disappearing and the continued – and accelerating – loss of this material denies future generations access to their cultural heritage and robs the next generation of developers historical reference material to draw on. As Henry Lowood [2009] pointed out more than a decade ago, we need to take action “before it’s too late”. The video-paper offers an overview and critique of existing approaches and revisits some of the methodological and conceptual presuppositions that underpin game preservation and even the academic discipline of game studies as a whole. Returning to first principles, the paper asks “What Do Videogames Want?”.
