Semantic Web mechanisms in Cloud Environment

Haddadi Makhsous, Saeed January 2014 (has links)
Virtual Private Ontology Server (VPOS) is a middleware software with focus on ontologies (semantic models). VPOS is offering a smart way to its users how to access relevant part of ontology dependent on their context. The user context can be expertise level or level of experience or job position in a hierarchy structure. Instead of having numerous numbers of ontologies associated to different user contexts, VPOS keeps only one ontology but offers sub-ontologies to users on the basis of their context. VPOS also supports reasoning to infer new consequences out of assertions stated in the ontology. These consequences are also visible for certain contexts which have access to enough assertions inside ontology to be able to deduct them. There are some issues within current implementation of VPOS. The application uses the random-access memory of local machine for loading the ontology which could be the cause of scalability issue when ontology size exceeds memory space. Also assuming that each user of VPOS holds her own instance of application it might result into maintainability issues such as inconsistency between ontologies of different users and waste of computational resources. This thesis project is about to find some practical solutions to solve the issues of current implementation, first by upgrading the architecture of application using new framework to address scalability issue and then moving to cloud addressing maintainability issues. The final production of this thesis project would be Cloud-VPOS which is an application made to deal with semantic web mechanisms and function over cloud plat-form. Cloud-VPOS would be an application where semantic web meets cloud computing by employing semantic web mechanisms as cloud services. / ebbits project (Enabling business-based Internet of Things and Services)

A semantic content based methodology framework for e-government development / Jean Vincent Fonou Dombeu

Fonou Dombeu, Jean Vincent January 2011 (has links)
The integration and interoperability of autonomous and heterogeneous electronic government (e-government) systems of government departments and agencies for a seamless services delivery to citizens through one-stop e-government portals remain challenging issues in egovernment development. In recent years, Semantic Web technologies have emerged as promising solutions to these problems. Semantic Web technologies base on ontology allow the description and specification of electronic services (e-services), making it easy to compose, match, map and merge e-services and facilitate their semantic integration and interoperability. However, a unified and comprehensive methodology that provides structured guidelines for the semantic-driven planning and implementation of e-government systems does not exist yet. This study presents a methodology framework for the semantic-driven development of future e-government systems. The features of maturity models, software engineering and Semantic Web domains are investigated and employed to draw and specify the methodology framework. Thereafter, the semantic content of the methodology framework is further specified using ontology building methodology and Semantic Web ontology languages and platforms. The study would be useful to e-government developers, particularly those of developing countries where there is little or no practice of semantic content development in e-government processes as well as where little progress has been made towards the development of one-stop e-government portals for seamless services delivery to citizens. Part of the study would also be of interest to novice Semantic Web developers who might use it as a starting point for further investigations. / Thesis (Ph.D. (Computer Science))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2012

arbeiten. sprechen. spielen. feiern. / working. speaking. playing. celebrating. : The practice of the progressive educational movement in the 20th century. An accompanying brochure to the exhibition

Förster, Lars 13 October 2014 (has links) (PDF)
The exhibition and the brochure with the title “working. speaking. playing. celebrating.” encourages taking a critical look at the practice of the progressive educational movement in the 20th century and provides a new impetus for taking up practical experience with this pedagogical approach by oneself. It is especially aimed at students to become a teacher, future and regular teachers, scientists in the fields of Historical Educational Research, Education and School Pedagogy, as well as other interested educators in practice. Furthermore, the exhibition is designed in a way that it can be used for lectures at university, e.g. for the introduction of scientific work. Consequently, it supports the idea of conveying knowledge of photographic analysis to build up basic competences in the scientific work of photos used as sources.

Pohled studentů PF JU na alternativní přístupy ve vzdělávání a na případné využití těchto metod ve vlastní praxi / A perspective of students from Faculty of Education of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice on alternative attitudes in education and on potential application of these methods in their practise

MIESBAUEROVÁ, Lucie January 2017 (has links)
The thesis is focused on a subjective perspective of students from Faculty of Education of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice on attitudes in education and on potential application of these methods in their practise. In this thesis is covered general exploration which characterizes particular types of alternative schools and alternative approaches in the process of education. Data were gained from questionnaire and with usage of didactical test. On research were participated 139 students from Faculty od Education of University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. In the result part are covered finding outs which refer to fact that most of students would use alternative attitudes during their practise even if only small part of them have ever visited any of alternative schools. The higher percentage of respondents answered that they have only limited information about alternative education which was verified by didactical test. The average access from the test was 50%.

Berechnung von Schockspektren und praktische Anwendung der dynamischen Stoßanalyse in Creo Elements / Pro Mechanica / Shock spectra analysis and practical application of dynamic shock analysis in Creo Elements / Pro Mechanica

Jakel, Roland 12 May 2011 (has links) (PDF)
Die modalen Superpositionsmethoden "Absolute Summe" und "SRSS" (Square Root of the Sum of the Squares - geometrischer Mittelwert) werden vorgestellt. / The presentation explains idea and fundamentals of shock response spectra analysis. With help of the PTC FEM-software Creo Elements / Pro Mechanica the shock response spectra (SRS) for an exemplary half sine shock is calculated. The shock response of a one-mass and a two-mass oscillator are analyzed per dynamic time as well as per dynamic shock analysis. The modal superposition methods "absolute sum" and "SRSS" (Square Root of the Sum of the Squares) are explained. The method is applied for different half sine shocks on a realistic example: A thermal imaging system of the company Carl Zeiss Optronics GmbH. Finally, the creation of response spectra for global-local analysis is explained.
