Kvalitetssäkring av monteringsmoment vid Fasta Motorers F11-montering utifrån en process-, felläges- och effektanalys / Quality assurance of assembly operations at fixed motors F11-assembly based on a process failure mode and effect analysis

Dalung, Emma, Johansson, Mikael January 2012 (has links)
In this thesis an investigation has been made in order to find possibilities to assure the quality at an assembly line at Parker Hannifin Manufacturing Sweden AB:s facility in Trollhättan. The purpose with the study was to improve the quality assurance at Fixed Motors F11-assembly line, where the work was based on an already conducted process-FMEA. In order to verify and further investigate the customer perspective, an inquiry was also done to see what customers complained about, this with help of PQP, Product Quality Problems, and NCMR, Nonconformance reports. By analyzing the process-FMEA, PQP and NCMR reports an identification and prioritization of critical failures were made. The result from these steps was three failures, incorrect positioning of the bearing house, picking of incorrect material and incorrect gear timing. These three were considered to be the most critical failures to quality assure. The aim with the quality work were set to reduce the total RPN, Risk Priority Number, of the process-FMEA, which was rendered by applying a concept generation and a concept selection for the specific failures. In relation with the concept selection, interviews were made with staff that was considered important and vital for the project. This was made to identify specific customer needs regarding solutions to the three failures. From these needs a target specification was developed to ease the generation of concepts. After generating a number of well specified concepts, a concept selection was made using the two methods screening and scoring and an additional Parker method called 3P to further establish that the right concepts was chosen. Further it was then possible to update the process-FMEA with the chosen concept solutions and by doing that reaching the project aim. By implementing the solutions it was possible to reduce total RPN, 6415, with 47,5 percent.

Concept for battery change : Mining vehicles

Örvill, Andreas January 2018 (has links)
Epiroc Rock Drills AB in Örebro manufactures and develops machinery for the infrastructure required to maintain a fully operational mining industry, such as ventilation, drilling rigs, trucks and loaders etc. In these environmentally conscious times, a large market focus forzero emission machines has begun to emerge. By replacing today'sinternal combustion engines, mining companies can save large sums of money in ventilation costs and fuel while creating a more pleasant working environment in the mines. Due to these rapidly changing needs, Epiroc's machines must also change in design and performance. Epiroc has thus chosen to use interchangeable batteries in their new generation of mining machines. When the battery is discharged, it must be easy to replace with a fullycharged one. From an economic point of view, it is also important that the machine is always in production without any stops, making fast and efficient battery switches desirable. At present, the battery change is usually done with a mono-rail crane down the mine. This has proved to be very difficult and ineffective as the battery is too often jammed into the machine due to the fact that the machine is poorly positioned against the crane. Ceiling heightis also a problem, preferably one should have about 6-7 meters to accomplish a safe lift with the crane, which is not always possible down in a mine. In order to find a more long-term solution to this problem, this degree project took its start. During the course of the process, a number of methods in product development and concept generation have been used to develop different concepts and screen them based on the needs identified at the beginning of the work. The main problem was divided into four sub problems to facilitate conceptgeneration, the most promising sub concepts were visualized using CAD and then put together in different combinations. These combinations were then evaluated against today's solution to easily see what concept should be further developed. This resulted in a concept that consists of a separate platform, which can either be placed on a vehicle or as a stand-alone station. On this platform there are two telescopic arms, one on each side. These arms lifts the three ton heavy battery from the mining machine in an arcuate motion over a charged battery on the platform, placing it in a designated location and then lifts the charged battery into the machine. With this concept, it is also possible to accomplish a safe change with a limited ceiling height of approximately 3.5-4 meters, which is an improvement compared to today's solution.

Framtagning av ett fästelementssystem

Byary, Hamza January 2018 (has links)
This study focuses on providing innovative solutions to assist workers lacking technical knowledge at Husmuttern AB to assemble its products. The Swedish company produces standardized building-sections that can be assembled to build model-houses, and other forms of buildings in mobile factories. The company’s vision is to provide opportunities for inexperienced labors and newcomers to Sweden, and so playing a positive role in integrating immigrants into the Swedish market and society. To actualize this ambition, this paper aims specifically at developing tools/products that assist unskilled workers to reduce the margin of errors in determining where and how the screws will be placed when combining the wooden beams and plywood boards, which form the building sections.   Semis-structured interviews with workers at Husmuttern AB were conducted to identify problems associated with the working process. Ullman’s product-developing method was employed to develop the facilitative tools. Several concepts were developed and compared in an attempt to find the best solution for the given problem(s), and eventually two proposed products were presented: the first is a template where holes are located to mark where the screws should be placed. The other product is basically an inclined plane with a drill-guide to direct the screw in the correct gradient and prevent the screw from moving through the process.

Referensdesign av tryckknappar för bilinteriör : Förslag och koncept för framtidens tryckknappar / Reference design of push buttons in car interior

Eriksson, Martin, Stridkvist, Dennis January 2018 (has links)
This report presents a thesis done in the field of mechanical engineering with a focus on product development and design. The work was done together with Kongsberg Automotive AB in Mullsjö. The company wants to investigate the push button solutions available on the market today and the solutions that seem promising for the future. The purpose of this thesis is to examine what the user perceives as quality and define which solution the company should use in future products. To make the subject less about an abstract feeling of quality a method for interviewing end users was created. This allowed their feelings about good and bad characteristics to be concretized to statistical data about characteristics and buttons tested in the study. These statistics where then used in a product development process to create concepts from ideas. With support from an experienced professional a direction was set to create prototypes built around existing switches matching the results of the interview based study. The result is a number of concepts for solutions, as well as 3D-printed prototypes of the more promising solutions followed by advice on which direction future research in the area should be headed. The task was solved with several well documented methods such as Kano. With these methods, the market has been reviewed, user comments about quality have been collected and analyzed and new concepts has been created to accompany the coming trend and meet user demands.

Säker och tidseffektiv förflyttning av betongelement / Safe and time-efficient transport of prefabricated concrete elements

Andersson, Isac, Ström, Erik January 2020 (has links)

Bendelin, Oliwer, Gunnberg-Querat, Theodor January 2022 (has links)
Hitachi Energy Power transformers in Ludvika wants to investigate the possibilities of developing a cutting tool to streamline one of the many processes for fabrication of windings in transformers. This thesis work at Uppsala University, which has been going on for ten weeks, has thus investigated the possibilities for a cutting tool by studying the basic necessary theories and user requirements that have consequently resulted in the generation of a proposed solution. User requirements were formulated through collection of data in the form of interviews, a questionnaire, and a literature study. Based on the collected user requirements, concepts have been generated for cutting mechanisms, followed by a concept screening for the reason of presenting a concept selection. The remaining problem statements were answered through thematic analysis of all collected information and balancing of developed user requirements. The design of a proposed solution has been done in 3D CAD with a focus on a solution-independent design This study showed that an electric battery-powered and hand-held tool with a focus on user-friendliness is advantageous for the intended application. Theoretically, the tool will improve user safety and time-consuming manual work will be minimized while reducing the risk of accidents. A theoretically functional proposed solution with a basis for all design choices has been presented to act as a basis for continued work. This study has been the first of its kind for this specific area and has thus left much room for further development, but at the same time provided a collection of information that contributes to the possible realization of a cutting tool.

Hamid Elamin, Hamed, Mohammad Taher, Handrin January 2015 (has links)
This thesis is about the development of a bucket design; intended for a range of excavatorbuckets consisting of four different types, but has only been implemented on the cablebucket. The work has been performed on behalf of a company that develops, produces andsells construction equipment for excavators and wheel loaders. At the present, the company'sexcavator buckets have high production costs, but the vision is to get into the low-costmarket. The goal of this work has been to develop a bucket design that reduces the company'sproduction costs. After a meeting with the company it became clear what needed to be achieved. The collectedneeds were interpreted in terms of customer requirements. A QFD was made, and thecustomer requirements were translated into product specifications for a successful bucketdesign. Particular focus has been put on simplifying the assembly of the bucket and adaptingits design for robot welding. Some essential factors have been to design interactingparts and to consider the accessibility for welding. The concepts were generated throughinternal and external searches, where methods as brainstorming and competitor analysiswere used.Concept selection was made by using Pugh's decision-matrix. A relatively optimal conceptwas selected for further development. During the development, various verification methodswere used, as for example risk analysis, finite element analysis (FEA) and cost estimate,to verify that the selected concept meets the set requirements for the excavator bucket.Several potential improvements were identified during the verifications phase and theseimprovements were implemented on the selected concept, which resulted in an even betterconcept than before. The final concept obtained a reduced production cost, with a more efficient assembly, reducedmaterial use and welding as well as a better performance than before.

Göransson, Daniel, Haaga, Jerry January 2015 (has links)
The objective of this thesis has been to develop and design a mobile phone holder for cars. Concept development of a compression molding machine for biocomposite materials / Konceptutveckling av en formpressningsmaskin för biokomposit material

Perttu, Gusten, Larsson, Adam January 2022 (has links)
The growing concern with the environmental impacts of disposable products has placed an emphasis on ensuring the sustainability of material systems. A shift in the selection of material can decrease the negative effects of disposable products. One class of materials with good credentials is biocomposite materials, a material partly consisting of biodegradable products. In this thesis project a compression molding machine suitable for the pressing of biocomposite materials are developed for the start-up Trash to Gold. The start up is in a early process of developing compression molding machine. As of now they use a modified workshop press to test out the pressing of to-go coffee cups made out of biodegradable a biocomposite material partly consisting of coffee grounds. The current press is not optimised for their expected customer group and it is therefore appropriate to develop a new one. The aim of this thesis project is to assist Trash to Gold in their development of a compression molding machine, suitable for upcycling biodegradable waste into disposable products. The objective of this thesis project is to develop a concept of a compression molding machine that can be used to print to-go coffee cups partly made of coffee grounds. The concept to be developed will be for a press that weighs less and has smaller dimensions than the current one to suit the target group. The product development methodology of the project is based on Ulrich and Eppinger’s book ”Product Design and Development”. Some of the approaches used from book are modified for better application on the project. The project also includes digital and theoretical tools to determine if the concept can withstand the pressure generated when the machine is in use. The result of the thesis project is a concept of a compression molding machine that meet requirements given by the start up. Suitable parts for the basic structure of the compression molding machine is presented such as how the pressing function will occur and the outer frame with where the different components will sit. The resulting concept is smaller and more light weight compared to the current machine.

Birkehammar, Martina January 2021 (has links)
In Sweden, there are students who live in small student apartments. These apartments can be called compact living as a student apartment can be as small as 16 square meters. To take advantage of the place that is in small homes, it would be good if larger furniture could be combined into a piece of furniture. On behalf of Husmuttern AB, this work has been aimed at exploring furniture concepts with sleeping and their functions in a compact living environment for students. The issues being examined are: -          What functions are desirable in a multifunctional seating and sleeping furniture for students and people living in compact living environments? -          How can a multifunctional seating and sleeping furniture be designed, that is applied to students living in a compact-living environment? Human Centered Design was used as a method and thus a qualitative data collection was carried out in the form of observations. The respondents were in the primary target group and were observed in their everyday lives in their homes. A focus group was involved in generating ideas and concepts. Functional prototypes were built, and 3D models were created in SolidWorks. Digital testing of the concepts was carried out and the development of the Generation Sofa Bed was realized. There is a discussion about how reliable this study is, when the results became situational. However, the respondents were from a limited audience and had different views on what they wanted from a sofa bed, which provided rewarding information for the development of the furniture. The conclusion is that while the Generation Sofa Bed needs to be further developed through testing and evaluation of storage facilities, it has great potential to become a finished product.
