A flauta doce no Brasil - da chegada dos jesuítas à década de 1970 / -

Esta tese propõe uma reconstituição da história da flauta doce no Brasil entre 1550 e 1970. Na primeira parte averiguamos a presença da flauta doce no período colonial, sobretudo no âmbito das missões jesuítas. Demonstramos que a flauta foi usada principalmente por crianças indígenas, como complemento à catequese e preparação para a prática musical da liturgia. Foram abordados aspectos como metodologia de educação, repertório provável e origem dos instrumentos utilizados. Enumeramos também algumas possibilidades de uso da flauta doce em ambientes não jesuítas entre os séculos XVI e XVIII. Na segunda parte discorremos sobre a flauta doce baixo que faz parte do acervo da Escola de Música da UFRJ, doada em 1896 por Leopoldo Miguez. Para concluir, apresentamos um abrangente panorama do retorno da flauta doce ao cenário musical brasileiro no século XX. Através de entrevistas e consultas com várias personalidades que se destacaram em ações pró-instrumento, elaboramos um percurso da flauta doce pelos estados do Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Pernambuco, Ceará e Rio Grande do Norte. Observamos que os pioneiros da flauta doce no século XX eram, em sua maioria, imigrantes europeus ou alunos destes imigrantes, sem formação específica no instrumento. Apontamos os ambientes onde a flauta doce circulou entre as décadas de 1950 e 70, reiterando sua vocação de instrumento musicalizador e conquistando espaço como instrumento artístico. / This dissertation proposes a reconstitution of the recorder history in Brazil between 1550 and 1970. At first, we have investigated the presence of the recorder in the colonial period, especially in Jesuit missions. We have shown that the recorder was used mainly by indigenous children as a complement to catechesis and preparation for the practice of the liturgy. We have discussed aspects such as education methodology, probable repertoire and origins of the instruments used there. We also enumerated some possibilities of recorder practice in non-Jesuit environments in the 16th and 18th centuries. In the second part we talk about the bass recorder that belongs to the Music School of UFRJ, donated in 1896 by the composer Leopoldo Miguez. At the end, we present a comprehensive overview about the return of the recorder to the Brazilian music scene in the 20th century. Through interviews and consultations with several personalities who excelled in pro-instrument actions, we have developed a recorder tour through the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Pernambuco, Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte. We observed that the pioneers of the recorder in the twentieth century were mostly European immigrants or students of these immigrants, with no specific instrumental training. We point out the spaces where the recorder circulated between 1950s and 70s, reiterating its vocation as first instrument and gaining prestige as an artistic instrument.

Cette thèse aspire à renouveler la lecture de l’œuvre de Leopoldo Alas Clarín à partir d’une analyse stylistique de l’intégralité de ses écrits en prose, sans perspective hiérarchique. Elle fait appel aux références culturelles de l’auteur et aux échos internes à son œuvre pour décrire son vitalisme intellectuel. Le style clarinien naît de la combinaison dynamique d’une esthétique ironique et d’une création intime, qui matérialise le contraste entre le lien et la rupture, figures fondatrices de l’œuvre. Les études menées croisent les champs de l’ironie et de l’empathie artistique, communément associées à deux postures disjointes – distance et proximité – et les réunissent dans un regard porté sur le phénomène d’intimité textuelle. Leur objet est de saisir les particularités d’un réalisme complexe qui porte l’empreinte d’une subjectivité créatrice forte et qui cherche à exprimer une vérité humaine mouvante et contrastée. La première partie opère un déplacement conceptuel : l’ironie est conçue comme un mode de représentation et non comme un instrument au service de la satire. Elle construit un système vocal de relations textuelles dans un mouvement intégrateur des emprunts qui manifeste la puissance du démiurge et qui défie le lecteur à partir des failles du langage. La deuxième partie s’intéresse à une écriture qui s’efforce de représenter le sujet intime dans ses défaillances, comme être délié et voix brisée. Le secret intime, en dépit des limites du langage, comporte néanmoins un fond d’espoir et de transcendance déposés dans le lien esthétique, éthique et religieux. L’œuvre clarinien est caractérisé par ses ambivalences : la complexité textuelle naît du contraste entre pouvoir et impuissance, entre spectacularité et secret. / This dissertation aspires to renew the critical interpretation of Leopoldo Alas Clarín’s work through a stylistic analysis of all his prose writings, disregarding hierarchic matters. This new reading is based on the author’s cultural references and the internal echoes in his works in order to describe his intellectual vitality. Clarín’s style arises from the dynamic combination of aesthetics of irony and a creative work on intimacy, that materializes the contrast between connection and rupture, both key elements of his works. This study combines the fields of irony and artistic empathy, usually considered linked to two different positions –distance and proximity–, bringing them together in a single approach using the idea of textual intimacy. It aims at understanding the particularities of a complex realism that has the imprint of a strong creative subjectivity and is eager to express a contrasted human truth. The first part make! s a conceptual displacement in the figure of irony, from a rhetorical device subordinate to satire, to a mode of representation. Irony creates a system of voices and textual relations that integrates quotations, demonstrating the demiurgic power of the author who challenges the reader from within the language. The second part is focused on the way Clarín’s writing represents the inner self and his failures, as a broken being and a broken voice. The intimate secret, despite the limitations of language, reveals the existence of hope and discloses a view of the transcendence of the aesthetic, ethic and religious connection. The Clarín’s works are characterized by their ambiguity: the textual complexity arises from the contrast between power and helplessness, between the spectacular and the secret.

The subject of our dissertation is the analysis of the function of color and of light and shadow in Le Rouge et le Noir and La Regenta. By function we mean the study of chromatic symbolism in these novels; each being a closed world in which the meaning depends neither on the author's personal existence nor on the external circumstances of the novel. The author then becomes a narrator who likewise only exists in his creation, and the historical circumstances of his era or time can only serve as references if they are explicitly or implicitly mentioned in the work. Colors therefore form a meaningful and coherent system in each work, and the object of our study is thus to explain and to compare the color systems of the two novels in question. There are three distinct functions in the chromatic schemes of Le Rouge et le Noir and La Regenta: an historical function, a social function and a religious function; each of which is analysed respectively in the three chapters of our dissertation. Each function also corresponds to two different reading levels in each novel: an historical and social level, as well as a religious level. The historical and social level, treated in the first two chapters, consists of a diachronic and synchronic study which manifests itself in the affective relationships which the characters maintain with the past, and in their capacity to adapt to both he political regime and to the system of individual and social values of their era. The religious level, treated in the third chapter, consists of an analysis of the importance given to the symbolic figures of Christ and the Virgin Mary in the creation of the characters. This religious symbolism accounts indirectly for each narrator's concept of the function of literature and the power of the book to right an historical situation which seems unacceptable to them. Thus, it is in the relationship between religion and language that one best perceives the narrator's point of view and the ultimate message of his work.

Este trabalho procura situar, em sua primeira parte, o teatro Trianon, inaugurado no Rio de Janeiro em 1915, na história do teatro brasileiro. No primeiro capítulo, apresenta o discurso do “teatro moderno brasileiro" e sua construção histórica. No segundo capítulo centra-se na inauguração do teatro Trianon e destaca o papel que efetivamente ocupou em nossa tradição teatral. No terceiro capítulo apresenta Leopoldo Fróes, maior ator nacional do período, que brilhou nos palcos do Trianon, e relata algumas histórias de sua vida profissional. Em sua segunda parte, traz artigos sobre o Teatro Trianon coletados em jornais cariocas durante o período de março de 1915 e fevereiro de 1921, e um quadro com todas as peças encenadas no período.

Ao estudar o centro histórico da cidade de São Leopoldo, com o auxílio da metodologia proposta pelo Instituto Andaluz do Patrimônio Histórico (IAPH), buscou-se contribuir com os instrumentos de planejamento disponíveis à sociedade na gestão do espaço urbano, com fins de garantir não só a preservação, mas a vitalidade. Atualmente, a paisagem cultural é objeto de estudo de diversos pesquisadores ligados ao patrimônio cultural. Sua identificação no espaço urbano tem na cidade espanhola de Sevilha um exemplo prático de aplicação do conceito. Em Sevilha, o IAPH propôs a formulação de um guia da Paisagem Cultural dividido em dois volumes: identificação e planejamento. Esta dissertação está dividida em quatro capítulos: no primeiro, apresentou-se as justificativas que nos levaram a escolher a cidade de São Leopoldo como objeto de estudo e quais foram objetivos nesta pesquisa. No segundo, estudou-se a formação do conceito de Paisagem Cultural e como os institutos de preservação no Brasil articularam a sua atuação para proteção do patrimônio cultural. No terceiro capítulo estudou-se a metodologia de trabalho do IAPH. No quarto e último capítulo refletimos se, no caso da cidade de São Leopoldo, um guia da Paisagem Cultural seria um instrumento adequado, e de que forma o modelo proposto pelo IAPH poderia ser adaptado para a realidade de uma cidade de porte médio. Para isso, traçou-se um paralelo entre o volume de identificação do guia de Sevilha e a bibliografia disponível sobre temáticas similares em São Leopoldo. / The cultural landscape and the urban planning of the mid-size cities are the two themes that interweave in this master thesis. When we study the São Leopoldo’s historic center, with the assist of the methodology proposed by the Andalusian Historical Heritage Institute (IAPH), we intend to contribute with the urban planning instruments available to the society, in the gestion of the urban space, with the intentions to guarantee not just the preservation, but with the vitality of then. Currently, the cultural landscape is the object of the study of many researchers related to the cultural heritage, and the identification in the urban space has in the city of Sevilha a practical example of application of the concept. In Sevilha, the IAPH come up with a formulation of one guide of the landscape, divide in two volumes: identification and planning. This master thesis was divided in four chapters, In the first chapter we introduce the justifications that lead us to choose the city of São Leopoldo as the object of study. In the second chapter, we studied the formation of the concept of cultural landscape, and how the preservation’s institutes of Brazil articulate their operation. In the third chapter, we studied the IAPH’s workflow. In the fourth and last chapter we studied if to the case of São Leopoldo, a landscape’s guide is a proper toll, and what ways the model proposed by the IAPH could be adapted to the reality of a mid-size city. To do this, we establish a parallel in between the IAPH’s identification volume and the available bibliography of similar themes in São Leopoldo.

Desde el mismo nombre del protagonista de la novela –“Adán Buenosayres”- es posible conjeturar la relación que une un nivel individual (“Adán”) a uno colectivo (“Buenosayres”). Puesto que me es imprescindible analizar los múltiples símbolos con que Marechal narra la aventura de su protagonista, la primera sección está dedicada al análisis de su significación. Esta aventura es, sobre todo, una “espiritual”: a través del simbolismo del viaje, la novela expondrá el camino emprendido por Adán desde la fragmentariedad del mundo hasta la Unidad del Creador. / Tesis

Transtornos de aprendizagem : aspectos neuropsicossociais de uma população encaminhada à Secretaria Municipal da Saúde da cidade de São Leopoldo

Foram estudados 125 pacientes em idade escolar que procuraram o Posto de Atendimento Médico Especializado (PAME) da cidade de São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil, nos anos de 2003 e 2004, encaminhados pela escola, pelo pediatra ou Conselho Tutelar, por estarem apresentando dificuldades na escolarização. Realizaram-se entrevistas com os pais ou responsáveis, exame neurológico tradicional, exame neurológico evolutivo, eletroencefalograma em sono e vigília em todas as crianças e tomografia cerebral e ressonância magnética, quando necessário. Foram estudados aspectos neuropsicossociais dos indivíduos e de suas respectivas famílias. Encontraram-se famílias comprometidas em sua história prévia e atual: 29,30% com dificuldades escolares, 27,20% com doenças psiquiátricas, 26,10% com epilepsia, 21,70% com alcoolismo e 10,90% com deficiência mental. As comorbidades tiveram um papel relevante no desempenho escolar: 50,50% com hiperatividade, 17,20% com distúrbio de conduta e 17,20% com problemas emocionais (listados como queixa principal por ocasião do encaminhamento para a triagem). / A hundred and twenty five patients at school age referred to the Ambulatory of Specialized Diseases in the town of São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, by the school, by the pediatricians or by Tutor Counsellor, due to learning disability, were followed during the years 2003 and 2004. Parents were interviewed; neurological examination was performed as well as electroencephalographic exams. In some cases, brain computadorized tomography and brain magnetic resonance was also done, when necessary. Neurological, psychological and social aspects of the patient and his family were investigated. Both past and current conditions were found in these families: 29.30% with learning disabilities, 27.20% with mental illness, 26.10% with epilepsy, 21.70% with alcoholism, 10.90% with mental handicap. Comorbidities also played an important role in school performance: 50.50% hyperactivity, 17.20% conduct problems, 17. 20% emotional problems all listed as complaints by the school, pediatricians, parents or Tutor Counsellor.

Analisa como a história e as construções identitárias serviram para a estruturação do turismo, considerando o contexto anterior à formatação do referido Projeto, especialmente a partir dos anos de 1950, seguindo até o momento atual. Enfoca as circunstâncias que favoreceram o que hoje se pode identificar como um reavivamento étnico; a homogeneização identitária como processo presente em diferentes contextos; as relações entre rural e urbano; e as relações entre identidade regional e local em contexto interétnico. / This is a study of the relationship between history, identity and tourism in the cities that constitute the touristic project called Romantic Route, in Rio Grande do Sul. It analyzes how history and identitary constructions have been used to structure tourism, considering the context before the Project was developed, especially from the 1950s until the present time. The study focuses on the circumstances that have favored what can be presently identified as ethnical revival; the identitary homogenization as a process that has been present in different contexts; the relationships between rural and urban; and the relationships between regional and local identity in an inter-ethnical context.
