By examining the referendum which proposed to outlaw the sale of firearms and ammunition in Brazil, a survey was conducted to undertand the campaign's impact on citizens, who were considered optional voters living in Bauru - SP. Throughout the survey, dialogue was established based on televised communication (a matter in which the participants' beliefs and opinions were highly discussed) as well as the power of persuasion social campaigns and marketing have. Therefore, by analyzing such communication, it is possible to observe the effects these issues ha on the young voters, who by law, are not required to vote. Contribuição ao estudo de perdas no varejo supermercadista: avaliação da quebra operacional e proposição de arranjo institucional para redução do desperdício de alimentos descartados comercialmente / Contribution to the study of losses in retail supermarket: evaluation of the operational break and propose of a institutional arrangement to reduce the waste of commercially disposed foodStella Ribeiro Alves Corrêa 14 October 2011 (has links)
This study aims to analyse the occurrence, form and the reasons for food wastage in the retail business context, analyzing a routine retail procedure called operational break. In this sense, the losses, as a direct result of the operational break, will be presented in a triple perspective, generating financial problems to the retail business and industry and environmental and social problems to the society as a whole, therefore, an inconsistent practice with the sustainable demands. Considering the waste as a result of asymmetries in the distribution channel and the need for organizations to consider the society in their business strategies, the study presents and discusses reverse channels and closed-loop channels as institutional models of coordination for the treatment and waste reduction and the social marketing as a tool for behavior change and benefits generation to the society by the organizations. To illustrate the combination of the proposed topics, the research will presents the Last Minute Market project, which aims to convert the waste into resource. On complementary sense, a operational break quantification of a retail store at Ribeirão Preto, SP and the mechanisms that the store uses to manage the loss and disposal of food will be presented. The conclusion is that retail business is striving for the loss to be reduce, but efforts are necessary so that the waste could be also avoided.

Previous issue date: 2013-08-20 / The area of public health because of its specific characteristics, presents major communication challenges. Communication strategies based on social networks have been widely used due to numerous benefits they present, as low-cost production and publication, flexibility and reach, among others. Social networks, blogs, chats, forums and other electronic relationship tools reach 86% of Brazilian population with access to the internet (more than 83 million people). Therefore, they are an important alternative to contemporary communication strategies, including those directed to encouraging organ donation. Even with more than three million donors registered in the Brazilian Registration of Volunteer Bone Marrow Donors (REDOME), the probability of finding a compatible donor outside the family is one in a hundred thousand. So, the gap between the need and the number of donors continues to increase. In this context, the general objective of this thesis is to analyze wether there is a relationship between the use of social networks (Facebook and Twitter), as a tool for marketing and communication, and the intention to register as bone marrow donors and how it occurs. To this end, the Organ Donation Model (MORGAN, MILLER, ARASARATNAM, 2002) was adapted and empirically tested. Thus, it was performed a descriptive and quantitative research. A survey, divulged by Facebook and Twitter, has been applied to a snow ball sample of users of these networks. The collected data were analyzed by Structural Equation Modeling method. Twitter was dropped because it returned only 4 answered questionnaires. It was found that the use of Facebook, as a tool for marketing communication, indirectly interferes with peoples intention to register as bone marrow donors (information exposure by Facebook explains 13% of knowledge variation and; knowledge, attitude and social norms explains 29,4% of intention variation). The results pointed to the empirical adequacy of the adapted model (AGFI=0,943; CFI=0,985; TLI=0,980; RMSEA=0,035; PNFI=0,704). Other relationships between the factors studied were proposed and tested. The main contribution of this thesis was MDO’s adaptation and empirical test. This contribution shall be considered relevant because it is the first model of willingness to donate bone marrow in the country and also the first to use communication through Facebook. As a suggestion for future studies, we propose the use of qualitative approaches in order to elucidate aspects that cannot be mesured through quantitative techniques. We also suggest the analysis of aspects that were not covered in the tested model, such as: religious issues, fear of death, fear of surgery, among others.

Previous issue date: 1982 / The monograph investigates in an exploratory way how the governmental enterprises of public services handle consumer comp1aints, in the city of São Pau 10, Brazil. The methodology follows 3 steps: 1st - A bibliographical review about consumerism, consumerism in Brazil and consumers protection, detecting trends and establishing operational definitions. 2nd - Establishment of the 11 preliminary presuppositions from where the interview's guide were built for the following 3 universes: PROCON - the governmental agency in São Paulo for consumer protection, the governmental enterprises of public services and complaining consumers. 3rd - Interviews and analysis. The monograph dealt with issues such as the structure of the enterprises wich handle the complaints; how the complaint department first appeared in the company; the interest in handling complaints considering them as a cheap feedback; the relationship between the amount of money involved in the complaint and its solution; the social c1ass who complains most; the communications channel between enterprises and consumer, the existence of repressed complaints; the preponderance of the economic interest over the social responsibility and the impact of the consumerism among the executives of the enterprises; where it is more operational to act to solve the problems pointed out by the consumerism and the possibility of transfering marketing concepts from private into governmental enterprises. The data were tabulated and analyzed and then groups of answers were put through a cross-comparison process. It was verifyed that from the 11 preliminary presuppositions 5 of them were confirmed, 4 were not confirmed and 2 were non conc1usive.

Is Social Marketing a solution to the water consumption problems in Jakarta (Indonesia)?Anggrahita, Hayuning 26 June 2014 (has links)
The water resources in Jakarta are abundant because the average rainfall in Jakarta is 2500 mm/year and this city is crossed by 13 important rivers. However, Jakarta cannot meet the needs of its inhabitants when it comes to an appropriate “drinkable” water supply. The access to the appropriate“drinkable” water is unequal according to various socio-spatial criteria pertaining to the Jakartan community. Moreover, the Indonesian society in general, and Jakartans in particular, tend to think that water resources are unlimited. It leads to an excessive use of water resources which deteriorates the water supply problem in Jakarta. Based on the issues above, this study tries in the first place to highlight the causes of the water paradox in Jakarta, taking into account an historical trajectory of the way the water supplying system evolved in Jakarta. Secondly, field surveys within the Jakartan community, according to the different socio-spatial categories, were conducted to see how the inhabitants understand the disparity of the water supply, as they face this phenomenon day to day. It can affect their perceptions and behaviors concerning water. Finally, since the Province of Jakarta is populated with 9.7 million people, water savings seem important. The approach borrowed from the marketing domain, “social marketing” appears to hold potential to convince and persuade the community to preserve water. A case study of Unilever’s program, “Gerakan Molto Ultra Sekali Bilas”, will be analyzed in order to justify the potential of social marketing.
