Método espectro-nodal linear para problemas de transporte de nêutrons na formulação de ordenadas discretas em geometria bidimensional cartesiana / Spectral greens function-linear nodal method for problems of neutrons transport in the discrete ordinates formulation in X, Y Cartesian geometryDany Sanchez Dominguez 17 February 2006 (has links)
e a fonte interior prescrita. Resultados numéricos são apresentados com o objetivo
de ilustrar a precisão e a eficiência computacional do método desenvolvido. / In this dissertation we present the Spectral Greens Function - Linear Nodal method
(SGF-LN) for numerically solving one-speed deep penetration problems in the static
discrete ordinates (SN) formulation with isotropic scattering, in X, Y Cartesian
geometry. This method is based on a spectral analysis of the transverse integrated
SN nodal equations, wherein the scattering terms are analytically treated, and only
the transverse leakage terms are approximated by first degree polynomials. We
solve the SGF-LN equations using fully nodal block inversions, that we refer to as
the blinking iterative scheme (BIS), where the node exiting quantities in all angular
directions are estimated as a function of all the node ingoing quantities and interior
source. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the accuracy and the
computational efficiency of the SGF-LN method.

As incógnitas no
A numerical nodal method that is free from all spatial truncation errors is developed
for one-speed slab-geometry discrete ordinates (SN) fixed-source adjoint neutral particle
transport problems. The unknown in the method are the node-edge and the node-average
adjoint angular fluxes, and the numerical values obtained for these quantities are those of the
analytic solution of the adjoint SN equations. The method is based on the use of the standard
spatially discretized SN balance adjoint equation, which holds in each spatial node and for
each discrete ordinates direction, and a nonstandard adjoint auxiliary equation that contains a
Greens function for the node-average adjoint angular fluxes in terms of the exiting adjoint
angular fluxes from the node edges and the adjoint interior source. Numerical results are
given to illustrate the methods accuracy.

CONTRIBUIÇÕES PARA A MICROPROPAGAÇÃO DE Eugenia involucrata DC. E Handroanthus chrysotrichus (Mart. ex DC) Mattos / CONTRIBUTIONS TO MICROPROPAGATION OF Eugenia involucrata DC. AND Handroanthus chrysotrichus (Mart. ex DC) MattosPaim, Aline Ferreira 18 July 2011 (has links)
Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / Eugenia involucrata DC. and Handroanthus chrysotrichus (Mart. ex DC) Mattos are
native species with economic, ecological and silvicultural. They have problems with
their spread via seeds, because they are recalcitrant and lose viability within a few
weeks after collection. In addition, there is little information about the propagation of
these species. Therefore, the general objective of this study was to evaluate
methodologies which may contribute to micropropagation of E. involucrata and H.
chrysotrichus. For multiplication of E. involucrata were tested different sources (BAP,
KIN, 2iP and TDZ) and concentrations (0, 16 and 32 μM) of cytokinins added to the
nutrient medium MS/2. Also, we tested the effect of TDZ (16 or 32 μM) combined
with GA3 (0; 10; 20 and 40 μM) added in medium MS/2, on in vitro multiplication of
nodal segments. Even for E. involucrata, we examined the effect of NAA (0; 0,5 and
1 μM) combined with TDZ (0; 16 and 32 μM), added to the medium MS/2. Finally, for
E. involucrata, we tested the effect of different concentrations of TDZ (0; 16 and 32
μM) added to the nutrient medium MS/2, on the multiplication of shoot apices of
seedlings germinated in vitro. For H. chrysotrichus were tested different types of
explants (shoot apical segments and epicotyl) and nutrient media (WPM, MS, WPM/2
and MS/2) in the presence and absence of activated charcoal as well as the effect of
BAP (0; 2; 4; 8 and 16 μM) on in vitro multiplication of this species. For in vitro
multiplication of nodal segments of E. involucrata the cytokinins tested are
dispensable; cytokinins favor the growth of bacterial contamination, high levels of
contamination reduce in vitro survival and establishment of nodal segments; the in
vitro establishment for this species is impaired by the occurrence of leaf chlorosis and
swelling of the explants. As for H. chrysotrichus, the shoot apical segments show the
highest development in the in vitro survival and establishment than of epicotyl ; there
is a high in vitro swelling of the explants in the absence of growth regulators; in the in
vitro establishment in medium WPM/2 in the presence of 0,05 μM shoot apical
segments are more efficient under low concentrations of BAP; there isgreater calli
formation in epicotyl with increase the concentration of BAP, the opposite was true
for the shoot apical segment.
segmentos nodais.
obtidos de plântulas germinadas in vitro.
bacteriana.

Modelos constitutivos para materiais hiperelásticos: estudo e implementação computacional / Constitutive models for hyperelastic materials: study and computational implementationPascon, João Paulo 01 April 2008 (has links)
The main objective of this work is to implement nonlinear hyperelastic constitutive models in a computational code of geometrically nonlinear analysis of shells. For this purpose, concepts of linear and tensor algebras, kinematics, strain, stress, balances, variational principles, numerical methods and hyperelasticity are necessary. Such program uses the positional Lagrangian formulation, the finite element method, the principle of virtual work and the iterative method of Newton-Raphson for the solution of the nonlinear equations. The shell finite element has ten nodes, seven parameters per node and presents linear variation of the strain along the thickness. To achieve the new constitutive models the multiplicative decomposition of the deformation gradient, the Green-Lagrange strain tensor and the second Piola-Kirchhoff stress tensor are used. The developed code is tested for simulations of various examples and presents good accuracy in the mechanical analysis of highly deformable natural rubber. The locking phenomena didn\'t appear in the proposed analysis. The present research confirms other works, corroborates the need of using nonlinear hyperelastic models to simulate the mechanical behavior of natural rubber and presents suitable results when compared to existent experimental data of the scientific literature and to the respective analytical solutions.

Previous issue date: 2009-06-30 / Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos / The formation of equivalent stimuli classes is a psychological phenomenon that has important characteristics for the experimentation of processes involving symbolic behavior acquisition. This kind of behavior has been the target of a wide variety of contemporary studies which have also demonstrated the possibility of such approach to generate symbolic behavioral repertoires based only on the teaching of some relations between stimuli. It is vital to investigate the parameters that optimize the establishment of equivalent stimuli classes desired by the researcher when defining the behavior to be installed through the procedure of matching-to-sample (MTS). Studies in the area have widely shown that after training A1B1 and B1C1, there is an emergency of some relations, such as B1A1, C1B1, A1C1 and C1A1, which demonstrate, respectively, the properties of reflexivity, symmetry, transitivity and equivalence. One of the parameters that determine the effectiveness of a procedure on class formation is the type of control relation exercised by the comparison stimuli in MTS attempts. Therefore, the present study aimed to identify the role of specific types of training of conditional discriminations in the establishment of relations of control for selection and rejection. Study participants were two teenagers with Down syndrome. The training consisted on MTS sessions with and without mask in two training types: non-nodular and nodular. The former occurred by presenting stimuli which function was either model or comparison only, and the latter was characterized by presenting stimuli with dual function, i.e. model and comparison simultaneously. Verification testing of the control relations established at baseline was made after non-nodular training and after nodular training, and only then verification testing of behavioral emergency was made. Two stimuli sets involved attempts with mask, while other two consisted of attempts without a mask. The experiment was specifically designed in a way that the training of a stimuli set with mask has occurred almost simultaneously with the training of a stimuli set without mask. Thus, the influence of historical undesirable variables was avoided on deductions made from performance comparison of the two different attempts (with or without mask). Results demonstrated, generally, that the training procedure used was very effective in teaching and formation of classes, what made difficult even to compare the greater effectiveness of the procedures with or without use of mask in the training of conditional relations. It is suggested the replication of this study, with a larger number of participants of this same population, so that it is possible to evaluate the data generality.

Análise do perfil de expressão de genes de proliferação/regulação celular, resposta inflamatória e angiogênese e do padrão de metilação dos genes p15INK4b e p16INK4a em portadores de linfoma de células T periféricas / Analysis of gene expression profile related to proliferation/ cell regulation, inflammatory response and angiogenesis and the methylation pattern of genes p15INK4b and p16INK4a in patients with peripheral T-cell lymphomaLage, Luis Alberto de Padua Covas 11 May 2017 (has links)
Fenótipo hipermetilado de p15INK4b não foi evento observado em LGCA/ALK+, porém foi associado a pior prognóstico nos LCTP nodais não-ALK+ / Background: Peripheral T-cell non-Hodgkin\'s lymphomas (PTCL) are rare tumors characterized by monoclonal proliferation of mature T lymphocytes; they correspond to 15% of lymphoid malignancies and have specific geographic distribution. PTCL comprise 22 distinct clinicopathologic entities, heterogeneous from the clinical and epidemiological perspective, as well as morphologic, phenotypic and molecular. The group of presentation predominantly nodal comprises the histological variants ALCL/ALK+, ALCL/ALK-, AITL and PTCL/NOS. Its treatment is based on polychemotherapy with anthracycline and consolidation with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT). With the exception of ALCL/ALK+, these tumors show overall survival at 5 years from 30% to 40%. Due to unfavorable outcomes, gene expression profile studies, as well as studies of methylation of tumor suppressor genes, have emerged in recent years in order to refine the pathological diagnosis of these cancers, improve the pathophysiological knowledge and prognosis, and establish possible therapeutic targets. Preliminary studies with nodal PTCLs indicate favorable prognostic value of overexpression of inflammatory pattern genes like NFkB1 e IKBkB, and unfavorable in the case of proliferative genes as CCNA2, TOP2A, CHEK1 and the methylated phenotype of suppressor genes p15INK4b e p16INK4a. Objectives: Assess the impact of relative expression of genes CCNA2, TOP2A, CHEK1, NFkB, IKBkB and VEGF1 and the methylation of the genes p15 and p16 in Brazilian population with nodal PTCLs treated with CHOP-like chemotherapy for the outcomes of overall survival, progression-free survival and disease-free survival. Methods: Gene expression was assessed by qtPCR of paraffin samples of 63 patients. The median gene expression was compared with clinical variables and outcomes. Qualitative methylation-specific PCR was used to assess the methylation of p15 and p16. Results: With a segment median of 20 months, the OS, PFS and DFS were, respectively, 45,6%, 34,3% and 63,0% and the complete response (CR) was 46,0%. In multivariate analysis, ECOG >= 2 and overexpression of the gene CCNA2 were associated with worse OS at 5 years in nodal PTCLs (p = 0,008 and p = 0,002). In univariate analysis, the genes CCNA2, TOP2A and CHEK1 were associated with worse prognosis in PTCL/NOS and better in ALCL/ALK negative. The overexpression of the gene VEGF1 was associated with worse prognosis in the variants AITL and ALCL/ALK negative. Methylation of the gene p15INK4b was not found in ALCL/ALK+ group, and in multivariate analysis was associated with worse 5-years PFS in the group of PTCL non-ALK+ (HR: 9,88 and p = 0,03). The gene panel tested showed no power to discriminate the different histopathology of nodal PTCL, but it showed a direct association between the median intensity of expression of these genes and biological aggressiveness in this heterogeneous group of neoplasms. The prognostic significance of immunostaining of ALK protein was influenced by IPI constituents variables in this cohort. Conclusion: The overexpression of genes CCNA2, TOP2A e CHEK1 were associated with poor prognosis in PTCL/NOS and favorable in ALCL/ALK negative. Hypermethylated phenotype of gene p15INK4b was not an observed event in ALCL/ALK+, but it was associated with poor prognosis in nodal PTCL non-ALK+

Um modelo para a reconstrução angular e espacial analítica do problema de transporte unidimensional de partículas neutras usando um método espectro-nodal / An analytical angular and spatial reconstruction model of the neutral particle transport unidimensional using a spectral-nodal methodDamiano da Silva Militão 15 March 2007 (has links)
We describe the application of the spectral Greens function SN nodal method for one-speed neutral particle transport calculations to determine the angular fluxes at the homogeneized
regions within heterogeneous domains, for linearly anisotropic scattering, using preferably high-order angular quadratures. The reconstruction scheme in the space variable of the angular flux is carried out within the homogenized regions using uniform spatial grid. We determine the arbitrary constants of the analytical SN general solution inside each spatial node. Then, we determine the SN expression for the scalar flux and total current that we
substitute into the analytical slab-geometry transport equation, precisely into its linearly anisotropic scattering source term. Further, we solve analytically the slab-geometry transport equation, so approximated, to obtain the flux profile within the space and angular domains. This approximate analytical reconstruction scheme of the solution of the neutral
particle transport equation in slab geometry is an inverse problem, in the sense that we use accurate coarse-mesh SN numerical solution, to recover the SN analytical solution in the space variable, and then reconstruct the solution approximately in the angular domain.
