EQpack AB is a company specializing in packaging solutions for the industry. Their range of packaging and packaging solutions is wide, ranging from the automotive & engineering industry, to electronics, pharmaceuticals and food-industry.In the manufacturing process of EQpacks most profitable products, EQspacer, which is a laminated pallet spacer, problems sometimes arise in the form of machine stops. EQspacer consists of a corrugated board laminated in PE foam or PP-fabric.The purpose of the study at EQpack is to create a deeper understanding of what conditions and properties affect the corrugated board sheets before and during production.Based on the purpose and background of the problem, two research questions were formulated:Q1. What affects the reliability of the lift of corrugated board?Q2. How can the reliability of lifting corrugated board improve?The work consists of a literature study, a case study, and practical tests. The literature study was carried out to gain a deeper understanding of the problem. Data collection was produced from books and scientific articles, but also practical in the form of interviews and observations. The case study is built with the help of several different production-development tools, which gives an overview of production and conceptual capabilities. By also testing the theories in practice, a comparison could also be made.The study resulted in two conceptual solutions that consisted of a metal sheet board and an alternative lifting method. Deformed corrugated board with large gaps can mislead the sensors on the machine. The sensor reads the thickness of the corrugated board by reading the measurement from edge to edge. After that, the pallet is lifted as high as the thickness of the previous corrugated board. If the corrugated board is deformed it leaves a gap which the sensor believes is an empty plan. This causes the corrugated board to be lifted all the way to the emergency stop sensor, resulting in machine stops. The role of the metal sheet is to ensure that the corrugated board remain flat, which in turn will reduce the machine stops. When the machine picks up corrugated board, it sometimes gets double layer. This is because a vacuum is created between the corrugated boards. This leads to machine stops or after processing. The alternative lifting method should reduce these machine stops. With the two conceptual solutions, the company can decrease the numbers of stops with at least 75% per day. / EQpack AB är ett företagsomspecialiserar sig på förpackningslösningar för industrin.Deras utbud av emballage och förpackningslösningar är brett, allt från fordon-& verkstadsindustri, till elektronik, läkemedel och livsmedel. Vid tillverkningen av EQpacks mest lönsamma produkter, EQspacer, ett laminerat pallmellanlägg,uppstår det ibland problem i form av maskinstoppnär wellpappskivorna lyfts av från pallen. Syftet med studien hos EQpack är att skapa en bredare förståelse, kring vilka förutsättningar och egenskaper som påverkar wellpappskivorna innan och under produktion, och orsakar stoppen.Utifrån syftet och bakgrunden till problemet som uppstår formulerades två forskningsfrågor:Q1. Vad påverkar tillförlitligheten i lyftet av wellpappskivor? Q2. Hur kan tillförlitligheten vid lyft av wellpappskivor förbättras?Arbetet består aven litteraturstudie,en fallstudie, samt praktiska tester. Litteraturstudien skapades för att få en bredare förståelse om ämnen och teorier som ansågs relevanta för arbetet. Datainsamling togs fram från böcker och vetenskapliga artiklar, men även praktiskt i form av intervjuer och observationer. Fallstudien är uppbyggd med hjälp av flera olika produktutvecklings-verktygsom ger en överskådlig blick över produktionen samt konceptmöjligheter.Studienresulterade i två konceptuella lösningsförslag som bestod av en plåtskiva samt en alternativ lyftmetod.Maskinens givaren läser av tjockleken på skivornaför att veta hur mycket pallen ska hissas upp. Detta görsgenom att läsa av avståndetfrånkant till kantpå wellpappskivornamed en laser. Efter detta höjd sedan pallen upp med samma höjd som tjockleken på skivan. När pallen har deformerade skivor kan det skapastora gapsomi sin turvilseledergivaren. Detta gör att skivorna hissas upp för mycket och slår emot nödstophjulet, vilket leder till att maskinen stängs av och pallen hissas ner till startläge. Allt detta orsakar produktionstopp och förlänger produktionstideneftersomoperatören måste starta om maskinen. Plåtskivans roll är att se till att skivorna förblir plana, vilket i sin tur kommer reducera produktionsstoppen. Vid plockning kan också maskinen få med sig dubbla wellpappsskivor från pallen på grund av att vakuum bildas mellan skivorna. Detta leder tillockså tillmaskinstopp, alternativt krav på manuell efterbearbetning. Det alternativa lyftets funktion är att minska dessa stopp. Genom dessa två konceptuella lösningsförslag kan företaget minska maskinstoppen med 75%.

The thesis should result in a fitting suggestion for improvement that decreases the control of the logistical flow from order to delivery.</p><p>The result of the thesis has been achieved through a thorough analysis of the present situation, making a flowchart and identifying the problems in the processes. The problems have been broken down in to main causes and are subject for the suggestions of improvement.</p><p>The final suggestion of improvement means communication between involved parties in the company and the supplier in China takes place in an extranet. When the order passes through the logistical flow every part has to control and approve the order before it is passed on to the next part. In that way a control system that secures the appropriate handling of the order throughout the flow is achieved. The extranet also gives the possibility to tracking information and goods in the logistical flow since the data can be stored in the system. The inventory when goods arrive is simplified and secured by implementing a barcode system which means all articles are automatically identified.</p><p>The conclusion of the thesis is that a thorough preliminary study and analysis of the present situation are crucial for identifying the most costly and critical problems in the logistical flow. By improvements of processes within the area of supply-chain there are a lot that can be made more efficient and save money for the company.</p>

<p>To be able to compete on the market environmental Management System has become an important part of operations work. However, many companies still haven’t implemented an environmental management systems due to lack of time and the high costs. One of the companies with this problem is Falu Bildemontering. Their goal is to accredited according to the ISO 14 001 certificate. One step on the way is to get the SBR license, Sveriges Bildemonterings Riksförbunds license.</p><p>The purpose of this report is to create a method for the creation of an integrated system that regards an organisations processes and environmental work. By doing this the enviromental work can be implemented in the every day work.</p><p>The report and the study is created through a study of relevant literature from which a model has been created. The model has then been tested and evaluated at Falu Bildemontering.</p><p>The first activity that is conducted in the work towards an integrated system is to map the organisations processes. A flow chart is created to get an overview. The second step is to analyze the different processes with the goal to upgrade them. This is performed by process development and with a stepwise model created by Aronsson. To be able to integrate the system in the every day work a comparison between the different management systems is done. The most efficient way to perform this is to have a living document where the newly developed processes are written down.</p><p>The final goal with an integrated system is to create a simple, efficient and enviromental adapted process where the organistaions sections are being brought together. The result can yield bigger profits and decreasing costs.</p>

The management system contains, among other things, a dataset with a number of parameters which controls different types of vehicle functionality. These parameters must first be calibrated and then reviewed during the development of a new engine to guarantee the quality of the product. Today there is no standardized process for how the calibration and validation of the parameters is supposed to be performed at the concerned groups.</p><p>The purpose of the study was to map the process of calibration and validation and if possible improve it to achieve a higher degree of quality within the process. Both differences and similarities between the studied groups were identified along with a number of useful routines and methods that can be spread within the process. Among others this included the utilization of a calibration and validation supervisor within each of the group sections, reoccurring group validations and meticulous documentation.</p><p>A number of problems within the calibration and validation process were also identified. Lean product development theory was used to develop suggestions of how to change the process in order to cope with these problems. It was concluded that many of the principles presented by the LPDS theory already were in use within the process. Nonetheless a number of improvements could be implemented to improve the process and make it more lean. This would also lead to increased quality of the finished product.</p>

Denna studie är utförd på ett företag i Helsingborg som heter Abdon Finax AB. Företaget startade med mjöltillverkning för att sedan introducera müslin till Sverige. Sedan dess har bolaget fortsatt växa. I dagens samhälle går utvecklingen fort fram. Globaliseringen innebär att konkurrensen ökar och företag tvingas att tävla med varandra om kunderna, vilka ständigt söker bättre kvalitet, lägre kostnader samt kortare ledtider. Detta samtidigt som företagen försöker tjäna mer pengar genom ökad lönsamhet genom bland annat effektivare flöden. På så sätt kan företaget minimera kostnaderna för att kunderna ska kunna tillgodoses samtidigt som företagen tjänar på det. ’’Ibland måste man vara liten för att springa om de stora’’ är ett av Finax valspråk. För att fortsätta ha chansen att springa om de stora krävs flexibilitet i produktionen för att möjliggöra kortare ledtider till kunderna. Syftet med studien har varit att analysera flödet av de glutenfria produkterna på Abdon Finax AB för att finna effektiviseringsområden. För att kunna göra detta har en flödeskartläggning gjorts. Denna gjordes med hjälp av observationer samt intervjuer på företaget. Efter en jämförelse mellan teori och empiri har sedan några kritiska punkter pekats ut för förbättring och effektiviseringsförslag har rekommenderats. Dessa förslag involverar standardisering samt sänkningsförslag på omställningstiderna allt för att företaget ska öka sin flexibilitet och kunna producera i mindre batcher. Vilket ska leda till att ledtiderna minskar och även lagerkostnaderna. I framtiden när ställtiderna har minimerats skulle det vara fullt möjligt att producera efter kundorder vilket minimerar riskerna för att kassera produkter samt minskar lagerkostnaderna ytterligare.

En förändring kan vara svårt, oavsett om organisationen är stor eller liten. En stor förändring i en organisation är att gå från funktionsbaserad organisation till en processorienterad organisation. En processbaserad organisation har ett processorienterat arbetssätt, vilket innefattar att en verksamhet aktivt arbetar med att sätta kundens behov före sina egna, vilket kräver ett helhetstänk med hög motivation och engagemang från verksamhetens medarbetare. Andelen misslyckade förändringsinitiativ är många fler än lyckade vilket kan bero på att medarbetarna inte sätts i fokus trots att dem är mottagaren av förändring. Ämnet har främst studerats med syfte om att undersöka chefers eller andra beslutsfattares upplevelse. En betydelsefull kärna i organisationer är medarbetarnas upplevelse.Syftet med studien var att undersöka medarbetarnas upplevda processetablering i en fallorganisation. Studiens forskningsfrågor har besvarats med hjälp av en kvantitativ metod där respondenterna deltog både i intervjuer och via epost med hjälp av en fråge enkät. De insamlade materialet analyserades och sammanställdes i text och i diagram.Resultatet delades i in tre områden: processledning, processdokumentation och mätning och uppföljning. Resultatet visade att respondenterna upplever en avsaknad av ledarskap och kunskap i processetableringen. Studien visade att medarbetarna i fallorganisationen upplever att det finns dokumenterade processer men ingen uttalad gemensam modelleringsteknik och saknade mätetal helt av processerna. Resultatet pekade även på vilka aspekter i processetableringen medarbetarna tycker är mer eller mindre etablerade utifrån undersökningen. När resultatet analyserades mot undersökningens teori samt forskningsfrågor visade det sig att fallorganisationen har mer och mindre etablerade områden.Vårt bidrag med undersökningen ska komplettera aktuell forskning och tidigare forskning med vad vi anser saknas i den vetenskapliga världen: empiriska studier om medarbetarnas upplevelse kring etableringen av det processorienterade arbetssättet. / A change can be difficult, either if the organization is large or small. A major change in an organization is to go from a functional-based organization to a process-oriented organization. A process-oriented approach involves an activity actively working to put the customer's needs ahead of their own, which requires a full-blown, high motivation and dedication from the employees. The amount of failed change initiatives is many more than successful, which may be due to the fact that employees are not put in focus even though they are the recipient of change. The subject has been studied primarily for the purpose of investigating the experience of managers or other decision-makers. An important core of organizations is the employee's experience. The purpose of the study was to investigate the employees' perceived process establishment in a organization in question. The research questions have been answered during a quantitative method in which respondents participated in interviews and by email using a questionnaire. The collected material was analyzed and compiled in text and in charts. The result was divided into three areas: process management, process documentation and measurement and follow-up. The result showed that respondents experienced a lack of leadership and knowledge in the process establishment. The study showed that the employees in the case organization experience that there are documented processes but no pronounced common modeling techniques and lacking measurements entirely of the processes. The result also pointed out what aspects of the process establishment employees think is more or less established based on the survey. When the results were analyzed against the theory of the survey and research questions, the organization i question found more and less established areas.Our contribution with the survey will complement current research and previous research with what we consider missing in the scientific world: empirical studies about the employees' experience regarding the establishment of the process-oriented approach.

Denna C-uppsats ämnar att studera prioriteringar hos användare i ett system för processutveckling, med syftet att skapa underlag för en omarbetad implementation. I vissa organisationer handlar det om att öka utnyttjandegraden av investerade resurser, och en sådan plattform ger en bättre kontroll över vilka delar i ett system som påverkas av processförändringar. Underlaget för den konkreta implementation bestod till stor del av resultaten från en enkätstudie, där slutanvändare av ett existerande prototypsystem fick dela med sig av sina synpunkter. Resultatet från studien kombinerades också med relevanta vetenskapliga artiklar och litteraturstudier för att skapa underlag för modellen för den nya plattformen. En stor faktor som påvisades utifrån studien är behovet av tillgänglighet. Detta innefattar bl.a. tydligare relationer mellan entiteter, koncis presentation av data och snabbare informationsåtkomst.
