Bettega, Maria Lúcia 23 November 2007 (has links)
Submitted by Marcelo Teixeira (mvteixeira@ucs.br) on 2014-05-19T17:36:43Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao Maria Lucia Bettega.pdf: 391767 bytes, checksum: 9630a90521b8f19583901de64e30c46f (MD5) / Made available in DSpace on 2014-05-19T17:36:43Z (GMT). When narrating their memories, the inhabitants of this community bring to discussion the experiences lived in the wedding rite and the meanings that they represented in their lives. The richness of this qualitative study sustains itself in the possibility of deeply knowing these experiences, analyzing the cultural aspects which they organize themselves in and what they represent for their maintenance. The research uses ethnography as methodological basis and the semi-structured narrative interview as the data gathering technique. The sample is intentional consisting of thirty interviewees from three distinct generations. The subject selection criteria to take part in the research were: marital status, residence at the place of research, age and gender. Based on these variables, three interviewee groups were created divided by distinct ages in order to distinguish the generations. The theoretical referential used enabled the analysis of this community`s culture through Van Gennep, Turner, Segalen and DaMatta works, and to identify the rite of passage stages and the values inserted in this rite at the community. This way the study around these narratives contributed to show that this rite maintains itself in the community as part of the culture and social values that constitute its culutural identity. The study even demonstrates that the rites are products of social forces and that they maintain themselves alive despite the speed at which the society develops.

The most important objective in the work is to present anthropological analysis about the mockery of Judas rite and the ritual process beyond local interpretations to rite. The concept presents in studies of Marcel Mauss, Henry Hubert and Ren? Girard about the sacrifice are very important to this paper. We work with this hypothesis that the Mockery of Judas is sacrifice done to residents of Rocas neighborhood to many purpose, since symbolic punishment to traitor apostle till the sacrifice of victm of conflicts and tensions inside the neighborhood / Esta disserta??o trata das representa??es elaboradas em torno do ritual da Malha??o do Judas num bairro da zona leste da cidade do Natal e das rela??es constru?das pelos moradores locais com o objeto ritual.

Pereira, Lúcia Maria 01 June 2012 (has links)

Det rituella motståndet : En kvalitativ undersökning av den andliga krigföringen mot en moské i Karlstad / The Ritual Resistance : A Qualitative Study of the Spiritual Warfare Against a Mosque in Karlstad

Lindahl, Klas January 2018 (has links)
In July 2017, local media reported on an event in the district of Rud in Karlstad, at the site of an intended mosque. Soon it became clear that the Pentecostal Christian communion International Mission Church Karlstad, was accountable for what proved to be a ceremony. This essay aims to examine what really happened. Furthermore, this essay is included in the research project ”The Karlstad Mosque – Negotiations on Islam in Värmland”. A student-based project at Karlstad University that deals with Islam’s development in Värmland from various aspects. In the project, this study illustrates the religious resistance against the mosque. With rites of affliction and text ritualization as a theoretical premise, it is stated that the purpose of the ceremonial process was to protect the site and to show the communion’s dissatisfaction with the mosque. In a manifesto, that is the basis for the examination, it is called for spiritual warfare against what goes against the values of the communion. The study is partly relevant because of the lack of ritual depictions and partly by the fact that Islam and Islam criticism is a relevant subject in today’s society.

Understanding the Sunrise Ceremony as a repository of cultural traditions and values: an exploration of ritual as a means for studying the health of the Apache people

Witt, Michelle Pambrun, Witt, Michelle Pambrun January 1996 (has links)
The intent of this exploratory study was to discover the cultural significance of an Apache ritual, the Sunrise Ceremony, as it relates to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the Apache individual, family, and community at large. The ethnographic methodology was used to gather data because this design provided the most systematic and flexible process to generate the widest range of information necessary for describing this culture from the native's point of view. Four culturally relevant domains were developed and analyzed to reveal five cultural themes, including "It's my strength," "Women are the core of living here," "It Tells You the Story of the Beginning," and "Change is Sad--Alcohol is Bad." The findings suggest that because the Sunrise Ceremony is central to the Apache way of life, its values and culture, an understanding of the Sunrise Ceremony can assist in the development of accurate nursing assessments and successful interventions to improve the collective health and well being of the Apache people. Additionally, recommendations for nursing practice and further research are proposed.

Divine healing is one of the three major components of the triple Pentecostal belief and practice, along with glossolalia and exorcism. In Brazil, for what we know, the first wave or classical Pentecostalism did not give much emphasis on divine healing, so it was from the second wave or deuteropentecostalism, with the insertion of the Church of the Foursquare Gospel in the Brazilian religious field in the 1950s, this charisma gained public notoriety and cultic centrality. With the emergence of neopentecostalism or as autonomous pentecostalism in the 1970s, divine healing, already inserted into the theology of prosperity, achieved another level, especially with the founding of the World Church of the Power of God, whose specialty is the thaumaturgy. Thus, this study intends to investigate the phenomenon of divine healing circumscribed to the Church of the Foursquare Gospel and the World Church of the Power of God. The research is developed from the literature review, participant observation and semi-structured interviews with the faithful of both churches. Taking the data obtained with such methodological procedures as a basis, we try to analyze and discuss the mythic and ritual dimension of divine healing in these religious niches. Finally, from a comparative perspective, this dissertation examines some aspects, especially the mythic and ritual aspects, that involve divine healing in a diachronic perspective that culminates in the present time, shedding light on this religious phenomenon that is the research object of this work.
