Qualidade da água do estuário do rio Sanhauá na Paraíba e conflitos de usos existentes na área de influência do antigo Lixão do Roger

In the state of Paraíba, the Sanhauá river, which composes the Paraíba do Norte river estuary, is located very close to downtown in the city João Pessoa, the capital of the state, in a fully urbanized area and therefore presents problems of degradation that directly affect the life quality of the residents in their sides. The former Roger´s open dump is also seated in this area and was decommissioned in 2003 after nearly 40 years of operation. This fact aggravates even more the environmental problems and public health of the population that lives nearby. Thus, the main objective of this study is the evaluation of the water quality and the existing conflicts of its use in the Sanhauá river estuary, in the area of influence of the former Roger open dump. To achieve this objective, it was done, over a period of two years, the collection of information and data of the study area. It was used as research resources, visual investigation and photographic record of polluting sources, the use of questionnaires with the residents directly affected by the former Roger´s open dump and monitoring the quality of superficial water at four collection points (two upstream and two downstream from the former open dump). The analysis of water were performed at the sanitation laboratory of the Federal University of Paraíba. The former Roger´s open dump is still producing leachate that flows to the Sanhauá River mangrove, nevertheless there were several points of pollution with discharge of domestic wastewater and solid waste directly into the river. Comparing the quality of the superficial water with the fresh water class III quality standards, in which is classified the Sanhauá river, and the class I standard of brackish water, it was found that the parameters of this water exceeds the limits recommended by the CONAMA resolution 357/05. It can be concluded that the former open dump is still a major pollution source of the Sanhauá river, but it is not the only one, since the communities included in its influence area are being deprived of sanitation, so the waste is released directly into the river. Furthermore, as the deposit of household waste in the river at the same time there were other activities such as fishing, navigation, recreation (river bath), which in itself shows conflicting uses of water. / O aumento da população e o crescimento das cidades, aliada ao desejo natural do homem de elevação do nível e da qualidade de vida têm resultado em problemas como a poluição da água e a degradação dos manguezais. No estado da Paraíba, o rio Sanhauá, que compõe o estuário do Paraíba do Norte, está situado bem próximo ao centro da cidade de João Pessoa, sua capital, numa área totalmente urbanizada e por isso apresenta problemas de degradação que afetam diretamente a qualidade de vida da população residente nas suas margens. Nessa área também se encontra assentado o antigo Lixão do Roger, desativado em 2003 após cerca de 40 anos de funcionamento. Esse fato agrava ainda mais os problemas ambientais e de saúde pública da população que reside nas proximidades. Dessa forma, o objetivo principal deste trabalho é a avaliação da qualidade da água e os conflitos existentes do seu uso no estuário do rio Sanhauá, na área de influência do antigo Lixão do Roger. Para tanto, foi realizado durante um período de dois anos, levantamento de informações e obtenção de dados da área de estudo. Foram utilizados como recursos a investigação visual e registro fotográfico das fontes poluidoras, a aplicação de formulários junto aos moradores das comunidades afetadas diretamente pelo antigo Lixão do Roger e o monitoramento da qualidade da água superficial em quatro pontos de coleta (dois a montante e dois a jusante do antigo Lixão). As análises da água foram realizadas no Laboratório de Saneamento da Universidade Federal da Paraíba. O antigo Lixão do Roger ainda continua produzindo chorume que escorre para o manguezal do rio Sanhauá, todavia foram observados vários pontos de poluição com lançamento de esgotos domésticos e de resíduos sólidos diretamente no rio. Comparando a qualidade da água superficial com os padrões da classe 3 de águas doces na qual está enquadrado o rio Sanhauá e com padrão de classe 1 de águas salobras, verificou-se que essa água supera os valores máximos permitidos preconizados pela Resolução do CONAMA 357/05. Pode-se concluir então, que o antigo Lixão ainda é um grande poluidor do rio Sanhauá, mas não é o único, pois, as comunidades inseridas na sua área de influência são desprovidas de esgotamento sanitário e os dejetos são lançados diretamente no rio. Também foi verificado o depósito de lixo doméstico no rio ao mesmo tempo em que se realizavam outras atividades como pesca, navegação, recreação (banho), o que por si só já demonstra usos conflitantes da água.

The main objective is to promove reflections about the insertion of the clowns in the universe of the circus, to make us comprehend the process of formation of a clown formed in a traditional circus family. In this research, we begin of the conjecture that, through the individual memory we can think about rebuild the process of a professional's integral formation.Then, we trace the itinerary of Roger Avanzi, the clown Picolino II, think that it has possibilities, in this case, to discuss about what is a clown's formation when it come from a traditional circus family. To walk on this universe, a huge numer of authors that deeply studyed about the circus ans the clowns, like: Avanzi; Tamaoki (2004), Bolognesi (2003), Castro (2005), Pantano (2007), Ruiz (1987), Silva (1997) e Torres (1998). We bring then, a theoric base that certainly, fortifies and corroborates our thoughts and reflections about the universe of circus and the trajectory of clown's formation, with special atention to Roger Avanzi, fundamentals i studies about it and with memories like Halbwachs's (2004) and Bosi's (1994). O desbalanceamento de dados em experimentos está muitas vezes presente em diversas pesquisas nas mais variadas áreas do conhecimento. Embora existam muitas maneiras de análise de tais dados, além de diversos recursos computacionais já implementados em diversos softwares estatísticos, ainda perdura dúvidas entre os pesquisadores a respeito da opção de análise mais eficiente. A literatura fornece ao pesquisador direção na escolha da metodologia de análise a obter maior eficácia nos resultados de sua pesquisa, mas o número elevado de opções pode tornar a escolha difícil. Em se tratando de testes estatísticos, algumas das opções para se trabalhar com dados desbalanceados são os testes t e Wald-F, mas ainda resta ao pesquisador decidir entre as várias opções disponíveis nos pacotes, pois nem sempre as opções padrões são as mais indicadas. No presente trabalho foram realizadas simulações com diferentes cenários experimentais, utilizando-se o delineamento casualizado em blocos com um fator de tratamento em uma situação e o esquema de tratamentos em parcelas subdividas em outra, sendo comparados quatro métodos de cálculo do número aproximado de graus de liberdade (Containment, Residual, Satterthwaite e Kenward-Roger). Verificou-se que o método de Kenward-Roger controla de maneira mais eficiente a taxa de erro tipo I e não é inferior aos outros métodos com respeito ao poder do teste Wald-F. / The data imbalance in experiments is often present in several researches in various fields of knowledge. While there are many ways to analyze these data in addition to various computer resources already implemented in many statistical software, doubt still lingers among researchers about the most efficient analysis option. The literature provides the researcher direction in choosing the analysis methodology to get better in your search results, but the large number of options can make the difficult choice. When it comes to statistical tests, some of the options for working with unbalanced data are the tests t and Wald-F, but there is still the researcher to decide between the various options available in the packages because the defaults are not always the most suitable. This experiment was carried out simulations with different experimental scenarios, using the randomized block design with one factor in a situation treatment and treatment regimen subdivided parcels in another, and compared four methods of calculating the approximate number of degrees of freedom (Containment, Residual, Satterthwaite and Kenward-Roger). It has been found that the method of Kenward-Roger controls more efficiently the type I error rate and is not inferior to other methods with respect to the power of the test Wald-F.

This essay begins with a story that reveals the encounter between pedagogues and children in their free play. In the first part, To be with or stand outside I describe how me and my colleague who are in the pre-school yard meet children through the different ways we participate or don’t participate in their play. In the second part To lose participation, I present a situation where I participate in the children’s play. When I start reflecting on what happens among the other children, I lose my participation on the game. With a starting point in these situations my dilemma becomes how we pedagogues act and interpret children’s play in different ways even though we follow the same curriculum. The purpose of this essay is to investigate pedagogue’s participation in children’s play. I reflect on questions about what is happening in children’s play, what role do pedagogues have regarding children’s play and how children´s play affects by participant pedagogues. In my essay, I try to reflect over the meeting between me, my colleagues and the children on the pre-school yard. In the essay, I rely on Rogers Säljö’s sociocultural theory on how individuals are influenced by the interactions around them. In this case, I refer to the children’s interactions with their surroundings. I reflect upon how pedagogue’s participation is both important for understanding children’s play, but also in creating fun-filled learning. I also reflect on how children’s play must be respected and handled with care in order to not be interrupted or disturbed. During my writing, I have gained an understanding of how educators can be present in children’s play and how a varied view of educators can create a more nuanced approach toward the child group. / Denna essä inleds med en berättelse som synliggör mötet mellan barn och pedagoger i barns lek. I den första delen Att vara med eller stå utanför beskriver jag hur jag och min kollega på gården bemöter barn genom att delta eller inte delta i deras lek på olika sätt. I den andra delen Att tappa delaktighet gestaltar jag en situation där jag från början deltar i barnens lek. När jag börjar reflektera över vad som sker bland de andra barnen tappar jag mitt deltagande i leken. Med en utgångspunkt från dessa situationer blir mitt dilemma att vi pedagoger handlar och tolkar barns lek på olika sätt trots att vi ska utgå ifrån samma läroplan. Syftet med denna essä är att undersöka pedagogernas delaktighet i leken. Jag reflekterar kring frågor om vad som sker i leken, vilken roll pedagoger har i barns lek samt hur påverkas barns lek av delaktiga pedagoger. I min uppsats försöker reflektera och tolka vad som händer i mötet mellan mig, mina kollegor och barnen på gården. I essän utgår jag ifrån Roger Säljös tankar kring den sociokulturella teorin om hur individer påverkas av samspelet med andra. I detta fall barns interaktion med sin omgivning. Jag reflekterar också över hur pedagogers delaktighet både är betydelsefull för att förstå barns lek men också genom att skapa lustfyllt lärande. Jag reflekterar också över hur barns lek måste respekteras och handskas med försiktighet för att inte avbryta eller störa den. Under mitt skrivande har jag fått förståelse för hur vi pedagoger kan ta tillvara på barns lek samt att varierade synsätt hos pedagoger skapar ett mer nyanserat förhållningssätt mot barngruppen.

Le Roi Roger, chef-d’oeuvre du compositeur polonais Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937), constitue une œuvre-clé pour le développement de son auteur. Situé dans la Sicile médiévale, théâtre de la confrontation de nombreuses civilisations (notamment grecque, byzantine, arabe et normande), l’opéra se veut mosaïque de cultures (interculturalité) et des sources artistiquement variées (pluridisciplinarité). Allant des Bacchantes d’Euripide jusqu’à la philosophie nietzschéenne et de la musique folklorique des Tatras au drame wagnérien, ce kaléidoscope de sources est articulé par quelques idées fondamentales. L’étude proposée considère l’opéra, selon les termes mêmes du compositeur, dans l’opposition binaire, entre d’« immenses contrastes et richesses » et de « mondes […] unis » par le biais de procédés d’intégration devant faire accéder cette mosaïque au statut d’Œuvre. La présente étude est une série d’éclairages, seul moyen de considérer l’opéra si complexe en entier. Confrontant les projets et le résultat, elle s’organise au rythme des oppositions, approchant différents domaines dans leur épaisseur (étude des sources variées) et leur rôle dans l’œuvre achevée. / King Roger, a masterpiece of the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937) is a key-work to the development of his author. Taking place in the medieval Sicily, setting for the confrontation of many civilisations (in particular Greek, Byzantine, Arabic and Norman), the opera presents itself as a mosaic of cultures (interculturality) and of varied artistic sources (pluridisciplinarity). Extending from the Bacchae of Euripides to nietzschean philosophy and from the music of the Tatra Mountains to the wagnerian drama, this kaleidoscope of sources is articulated by a few fundamental ideas. The present study considers the opera, according to the words of the composer himself, in the binary opposition between « great contrasts and riches » and the « united worlds » by means of particular methods of integration which rise this mosaic to the status of a Work of Art.The present study gives a series of insights into the opera, the only way of considering a work of such complexity in its entirety. Confronting the projects and the result, it is organized by the rhythm of the oppositions in presence, approaching different arts by their multiple layers (through the study of varied sources) and their part in the final work.

Notre thèse se propose d’analyser l’évolution des relations entre les milieux de l’architecture et du design français, de 1969 à 1989. Inspirée par la Hochschule für Gestaltung d’Ulm, permise par la venue en France de l’architecte suisse Claude Schnaidt (1931-2007), dernier vice-recteur de cette prestigieuse école allemande, la première vie de l’Institut de l’Environnement (1969-1971) s’affirme comme la principale rotule de cette étude. Si elle a fragilisé cet établissement situé rue Érasme à Paris, la ligne de tension entre architecture et design, considérés comme des disciplines autonomes, non assujetties l’une à l’autre, traversa de nombreuses autres institutions françaises dans les deux décennies suivantes, du CCI à l’ENSCI. Notre thèse s’attache à mettre au jour ces dynamiques antagonistes, contribuant tantôt à la consolidation des barrières disciplinaires en place, à la complexification du cadastre des pratiques et donc à l’intensification des rivalités entre spécialistes, tantôt à l’instauration de processus de fertilisation croisée, de différents degrés d’interdisciplinarité ou de transversalité (métissages des langages, créolisation des processus de conception, partage d’instruments de travail entre corporations). / This doctoral research studies the evolving relationships between the fields of architecture and industrial design in France, from 1969 to 1989. The early years of the Institut de l’Environnement (1969-1971) stand out as the main articulation of this study. The creation of this institution was inspired by the Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm and made possible by the arrival in France of Claude Schnaidt (1931-2007) – a Swiss architect who was the last vice-rector of the prestigious German school. The tension between architecture and design, thought of as self-sufficient disciplines, not subject to each other, has weakened this institute located in Paris, rue Érasme. This tension traversed many other French institutions through the next two decades, from the CCI to the ENSCI. This doctoral thesis attempts to uncover these conflicting dynamics. On the one hand, they contributed to the consolidation of existing disciplinary boundaries, to the complexification of the practices' landscape and thus to the intensification of rivalries between specialists. On the other hand, they led to the creation of cross-fertilization process, of different degrees of inter- or transdisciplinarity (interbreeding languages or design process, sharing working tools between corporations).

Tableau d'honneur de la Faculté des études supérieures et postdoctorales, 2011-2012 / Depuis la parution de ses premiers romans à la fin des années soixante, l'écrivain franco-manitobain J. R. Léveillé a fait éclater les formes réalistes de la fiction, en ayant recours à des stratégies associées à la littérature postmoderne, dont l'intertextualité et l'écriture fragmentaire. L'utilisation de ces différentes stratégies est particulièrement manifeste dans L'incomparable. Bien que présentée sous l'appellation générique d'éloge, cette oeuvre, publiée en 1984, s'inscrit indéniablement dans le registre de l'essai. La référence à la poétesse grecque Sappho apparaît comme un « prétexte » à l'exposition et à l'application d'une théorie sur l'écriture et, par extension, sur la création. Ce mémoire vise plus précisément à démontrer que l'intertextualité constitue le moteur de la création dans L'incomparable, dont le matériau de base est le fragment.

This dissertation examines the urban missiology of Roger S. Greenway. The thesis is the urban missiology of Greenway should inform the ministries of urban missiologists today. This dissertation answers four questions: How has Greenway's life and theology shaped his urban missiology? What is Greenway's urban church planting strategy? How has Greenway's understanding of holistic ministry enhanced his church planting strategy? What role does theological education and urban training centers have in his urban missiology? If urban missiologists hope to avoid the mistakes of the past and lay a firm foundation for the future, they should seek to learn from the urban missiology of Roger S. Greenway. Chapter 1 emphasizes the importance of urban missions in a rapidly urbanizing world. The chapter also introduces the research questions and the urban missiological thought of Roger Greenway. A brief overview of Roger Greenway's life and ministry is presented to demonstrate the importance of his work in relation to urban missiology. Chapter 2 contains a sketch of Roger Greenway's life and theological beliefs. The chapter considers the effects of his Reformed theological background on his urban missiology. Greenway's theology impacts every aspect of his urban missiology. Chapter 3 outlines Roger Greenway's church planting strategy. The chapter examines how Greenway's church planting strategy serves as the central piece of Greenway's overall urban missiology. The influence of Donald McGavran is evident in Greenway's urban church planting strategy. Chapter 4 explains Greenway's understanding and application of holistic ministry. Greenway believes that word and deed ministries must be infused with one another in order to complete the mission of the church. Chapter 5 delves into Greenway's theological education methodology and how he applied that methodology in the urban context. Greenway believed theological and missiological training should be contextualized into the urban context. Chapter 6 concludes with a summary of Greenway's urban missiology. The chapter also offers ideas for further research. The dissertation closes by offering insights gleaned from Greenway's urban missiology.

Approaching the Singularity in Gowdy Universes

It has been shown that the cosmic censorship conjecture holds for polarized Gowdy spacetimes. In the more general, unpolarized case, however, the question remains open. It is known that cylindrically symmetric dust can collapse to form a naked singularity. Since Gowdy universes comprise gravitational waves that are locally cylindrically symmetric, perhaps these waves can collapse onto a symmetry axis and create a naked singularity. It is known that in the case of cylindrical symmetry, event horizons will not form under gravitational collapse, so the formation of a singularity on the symmetry axis would be a violation of the cosmic censorship conjecture.To search for cosmic censorship violation in Gowdy spacetimes, we must have a better understanding of their singularities. It is known that far from the symmetry axes, the spacetimes are asymptotically velocity term dominated, but this property is not known to hold near the axes. In this thesis, we take the first steps toward understanding on and near axis behavior of Gowdy spacetimes with space-sections that have the topology of the three-sphere. Null geodesic behavior on the symmetry axes is studied, and it is found that in some cases, a photon will wrap around the universe infinitely many times on its way back toward the initial singularity.
