Previous issue date: 2015-09-25 / This work, initially based on the analysis of some documents related to the current Brazilian educational legislation aims to develop an investigation about the applicability of the student assistance within the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo (IFSP). Based on the right to education of every citizen, which our Constitution guarantees, the Government created in 2010, the National Student Assistance Program (PNAES). Supported by this Program, the IFSP created in 2011, the Student Assistance Program (SAP), giving validity and continuity to the actions developed in Campi to minimize evasion and school failure, in order to ensure the permanence of the students in that Institute. Although SAP has been implemented in all Campi of IFSP, this work aims to analyze and study specifically the Campus Cubatão, located in the Santos region because, among others, this has been the first decentralized unit of the Federal Institutes of the country. In this study, our goal is to analyze the operating structure of the IFSP with the specific intention of investigating the Campus of Cubatão. Also checking the Social Vulnerability issues found in this renowned institution and investigating the actions of PAE born of PNAES, observing the applicability of this program based on the principle of Active Gratuity and the right to education of every citizen. Therefore, we use fundamentally, not only the aforementioned legislation, but also the principle Melchior´s Active Gratuity (2011) and the concept of social vulnerability proposed by Alves (1994) and Abramovay (2002).

APSEN Analysis for Beyond 3G Wireless Networks / APSEN Analysis for Beyond 3G Wireless NetworksQADEER, MUHAMMAD, KHAN, MUHAMMAD HUMRAN January 2009 (has links)
The beyond 3G official IEEE name for next generation of wireless technology, some people also called it as 4G (fourth-generation) mobile communication systems. Beyond 3G will be used largely to contain not only cellular telephone systems but also several types of broadband wireless access communication systems, have been attracting much interest in the mobile communication field. A new age has begun for telecommunication industry. Over the past decade wireless industry has grown at a remarkable pace, consequently level of technology development goes beyond the level of customer desire. Application flexibility and being highly dynamic will be the main features of beyond 3G services of interest to users. Being there all these emerging technologies in one cellular network has opened the work of designing and optimization of the networks to be viewed from a different perspective. APSEN analysis for Beyond 3G wireless networks has been discussed. “AP” stands for application layer, analysis of services and applications. “SE” stands for session layer, analysis of session management protocol and “N” for network layer, analysis for network protocols. The main purpose of our research is to focus on the challenges offered at APSEN for beyond 3G wireless network. There are a lot of research challenges in each of the different layers but focus will be on APSEN. The objective is to take a look at and familiarize with some of the major challenges offered at APSEN for beyond 3G wireless network. Qualitative approach has been used which will help us to collect wide range of information and enhance our knowledge by analyzing the perspectives of different researchers.

Lived Experiences of School Counselors Who Address Mental Health Needs Through Evidenced-based Educational ProgramsOlds, Kelley Yvette 01 January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of this phenomenological qualitative study was to explore the lived experiences of school counselors who address the mental health needs of students through at least one of the following educational evidenced-based programs: Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports, Response to Intervention, Restorative Practices, and Student Assistance Program. EBPs have evolved as a staple of quality educational programming with a focus on best practices, data, and accountability. Over the past several decades, school counselors have struggled to demonstrate efficiency, accountability, and transparency consistently in counseling outcomes (Generali, Foss-Kelly, & McNamara, 2013). Recent literature in school counseling embraces the movement toward evidenced based practices to urge counselors to demonstrate their capacity for leadership, advocacy, and accountability (Cressey, Whitcomb, McGilvray-Rivet, Morrison, & Shander-Reynolds, 2014; Goodman-Scott, Betters-Bubon, & Donohue, 2015). Six significant themes emerged through data analysis: 1) Cultivating advocacy and leadership skills; 2) Recognizing benefits of EBP integration; 3) Being frontline in mental health as personal-social domain dominates school counselor role; 4) Collaborating and consulting with school and community stakeholders; 5) Needing supportive environment to promote mental wellness; and 6) Navigating EBP implementation challenges. Findings from this study suggest that promoting mental wellness using EBPs is conducive to address the personal social needs of students. Moreover, the school counselor participants indicated that the EBPs reviewed were valuable school reform models as the EBPs address students’ mental health needs. The findings also suggest that school counselors, as key educational stakeholders, should be included in the discourse of EBP advancement, execution, and assessment.

However, whether tree species diversity also promotes water and carbon acquisition and use in forest ecosystems is still unclear. Furthermore, in the current context of global warming, information on how tree species diversity can influence the response of forest ecosystems to extreme climatic events such as drought are urgently needed. In this framework, the objective of my PhD thesis was to determine how tree species diversity influences important functions of the water and carbon cycle including transpiration, carbon isotope composition and water extraction depth at the tree- and ecosystem-Scale under contrasting soil water conditions. My work was conducted within the FunDivEUROPE project in a network of permanent forest stands and tree plantations across a North-South gradient in Europecovering a wide range of climatic conditions. I found considerable variability among species or forest types in the response of transpiration and carbon isotope composition at the tree- and ecosystem-Scale across Europe. Species diversity did not affect the water and carbon relations of tree species and forest ecosystems under non-Limiting soil water conditions. However, a strong effect of species diversity was observed under drought conditions in some forest types. Based on these data, I discuss the potential mechanisms of species interactions that may explain the observed patterns. I also point out that the influence of species diversity is highly context-Dependent, and changes with local environmental and climatic conditions. In terms of forest management applications, I suggest that, at least in some regions, controlling for tree species diversity along with stand density and total basal area could be recommended to help forests adapt to drier conditions

Creation of adaptation concept for new employees with system organiser position on SAP environment in ŠKODA AUTO a.s.Doupal, Petr January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with the issue of adaptation of new employees in ŠKODA AUTO a.s., particularly of those who joined the company under the "Growth strategy 2018" for "system organizer" job positions -- SAP consultants. The company has been awarded for being one of the best employers in the past years and the system of human resource management and employee care is very advanced, however there was a demand in the "Information systems and organization" department to come up with its own way to adapt new employees concretely on SAP environment beyond the regular plans in the company. The goal of this thesis is thus to analyze current general practices in the company, present arguments for the new concept of adaptation on SAP, create that concept and then evaluate it through employees' feedback. The thesis, among other things, focuses on the whole process of the creation of the adaptation, including its administration and themes. The research of the opinions of the employees will review the present results of the adaptation and will give a base for decisions on how to continue with this effort. All activities in this process were done by the author himself while being an intern in the company and member of the adaptation project team. The target of the effort and the thesis itself is to have the adaptation project green lighted for the future continuation and to eliminate premature terminations of contracts of employment, which is why the SAP adaptations were thought of in the first place. The new concept of adaptation will benefit the company, the new employees, the creators of the concept, the tutors and the author and can act as an exemplar for other departments.
