Synen på seriemediet har förändrats i takt med att grafiska noveller får allt högre status tack vare avantgardiska serier som recenseras i kultursidorna och vinner tunga litteraturpriser. Som entusiastiska serieläsare växte idén om serier som klassrumsmaterial fram och det är vad denna kunskapsöversikt ämnar besvara utifrån frågeställningen: Hur kan seriemediet som klassrumsmaterial bidra med i utvecklingen av litteracitet och motivation för läsning? Kunskapsöversikten bygger på artiklar hittade i ett flertal olika databaser, och resultatet visar på att seriemediet har stora möjligheter som klassrumsmaterial. Seriemediet är ett användbart medium i elevers utveckling av litteracitet, dock pekar forskningen på att läsning av bild och text kombinerat kräver utökad undervisning i en litteracitet som skiljer sig från den som används vid läsning av typografiska texter. Detta skapar också ett behov av att utbilda yrkesverksamma samt lärarstudenter i nya multimodala medier. Vidare kan seriemediet leda till ökad motivation för läsning hos elever, speciellt när möjligheten att välja själv finns. Det är inte vår tanke att seriemediet ska ersätta den traditionella litteraturen utan i stället ses som ett likvärdigt alternativ som kan kombineras med typografiska texter för att skapa lika förutsättningar för alla elever oavsett nivå.

The purpose of this thesis is to study the attitude towardscomics among librarians as well as their personal image ofthe overall attitude towards comics among librarians and themanner in which the attitude of the librarians affects how thecomics are treated in the library.I have performed this study with a qualitative approach andhave interviewed a total of five librarians working in twodifferent libraries.I have founded the theoretical base for my research in anumber of historical attitudes towards comics and thencompared these attitudes towards the answers given in theinterviews as well as prior research found in three theseswritten by Magnus Johansson, Sarah Johansson and KarinEsaiasson.The results of the study is that traces of most of thehistorical attitudes can be found among all of the interviewedlibrarians but that none of them are harboring any negativeattitudes towards comics themselves. On the other hand thestudy does imply that the image of the librarian who onlythinks that comics are meant for children is still very muchalive in the collective subconscious of the librarians.The study also shows that while librarians of today tend tohave a neutral outlook in comics the historically subpartreatment of comic in the libraries and the subsequent lack ofacademic support on the subject have made it necessary forthe librarian in charge of the comic-section to have apersonal interest/liking for comics to be able to do a goodjob. / Program: Bibliotekarie

I denna undersökning ville jag undersöka hur Folkhälsomyndighetens olika karaktärsstilar i tre olika filmer förhåller sig till realism och reduktion och vad det kan ha för effekt. Jag ville även undersöka fenomenet Corporate Art Style för att se om det fanns närvarande i Folkhälsomyndighetens karaktärer. Jag kom fram till att graden av realism och reduktion hos en karaktär påverkar identifiering hos mottagaren men att det även finns andra faktorer som påverkar identifiering till exempel känslouttryck. Realism och reduktion visade sig också ha konsekvenser för representation och avläsning av en karaktär. Drag av Corporate Art Stylevar varierande mellan karaktärsstilarna i filmerna. Film 1 innehöll flera av kriterierna förCorporate Art Style, men saknade viktiga kriterier för att klassas som Corporate Art Style. Undersökningen pekar på att specifik karaktärsdesign ökar nivån av representation och identifiering. / In this study I wanted to investigate how Folkhälsomyndigheten´s different character styles in three different films relate to realism and reduction and what effect it can have. I also wanted to investigate the phenomenon of Corporate Art Style to see if it was present in Folkhälsomyndigheten´s characters. I concluded that the degree of realism and reduction of a character affects the identification of the recipient, but that there are also other factors that affect identification, for example emotional expression. Realism and reduction also proved to have consequences for the representation and reading of a character. Features of Corporate Art Style were varied between the character styles in the films. Film 1 contained several of the criteria for Corporate Art Style but lacked important criteria to be classified as Corporate Art Style. The survey indicates that specific character design increases the level of representation and identification.
