In this thesis, the practice of Chaos magick and the practice and mythology of Discordianism are compared to different subversive techniques used in internet culture and specifically in internet trolling. Chaos magick is described from the sigil-making of Austin Osman Spare through the playbacks of William S Burroughs to contemporary practitioners. The Chaos magick practices unveiled in this investigation are compared to practices in internet culture and specifically internet trolling through avariety of different themes, from memes to doxing to the chaos of apophenia.

Detta är en kvalitativ studie som tar grund från teorin om postfeminism som ett epistemologiskt genombrott och forskningsverktyg. Syftet är att upptäcka diskurser som underbygger kommentarer på normkritiska, feministiska inlägg på Instagram samt skapa förståelse för korrelationen mellan inlägg och kommentarsfält. Studiens tar fokus och material ifrån den svenska artisten Zara Larsson, vars offentliga person kommit till att bli en slags inofficiell ambassadör för feminismen, och hennes instagramflöde hennes kommunikationsportal för feministiska budskap och uttalanden. Genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys har inlägg av feministisk karaktär tagits fram från Larssons instagramflöde och dessa har sedan har analyserats och vidare tagits till diskussion i relation till inläggens kommentarsfält, vilka genomgått en kritisk diskursanalys i syfte att förstå hur språk och text, i detta fallet kommentarer, kan bidra till en slags konstruktion av verkligheten.    Studiens resultat visar å ena sidan att det finns en stark korrelation med inläggen och dess kommentarsfält. Detta innebär att den som är insatt i ämnet, åtminstone till en viss grad, kan styra sitt kommentarsfält. Beroende på tonaliteten, utformningen av texten, valet av bild och ämnet över lag förändras attityder och aggressiviteten i kommentarsfälten. Vem som publicerar inläggen påverkar också kommentarsfälten och attityderna där i. Studien påvisar också att många kommentarer i relation till den feminism som visas upp på Zara Larssons Instagram uttrycker ilska över att inläggen drar alla män över en kam – och detta ska poängteras sker även om inläggen garderar sig mot just generalisering. Studien vill därför också poängtera att så kallade nättroll förekommer i samtliga inlägg, det vill säga användare som kommenterar enbart i syfte att provocera. Studien kategoriserar dessa kommentarer som näthat då de uppenbart inte tar avstamp i inläggen och har således inga argument eller giltiga anledningar till sina negativa kommentarer. / This qualitative resource takes ground from the theory of postfeminism as epistemological break within feminism as well as a resource tools. While using a qualitative content analysis to find post based on feminism, a critical discourse analysis has been used to understand how language, in this case – language used in comment fields – can construct realities. The study aims to find understanding for these discourses as well as get a deeper knowledge of the correlation between media content and the comment-section. To do so, the study grasp all the interaction from the pictures that are chosen, caption that are written and the varieties of reactions that are commented.   This study uses the Swedish, yet internationally known, pop-artist Zara Larsson as main figure for the research since she’s somewhat of an unofficial ambassador for feminism, especially for the young media public.    The study shows that there is a significant correlation between content/caption and the comment section. Depending on tonality, length of caption, picture, subject and who the author is – the comment section gets more or less aggressive. Power relationships is an importance factor regarding the relationship between publisher and the users in the comment sections. This means that for someone who’s well established in the media flow, controlling ones’ comment section is, at least at some level, doable, although – while not trying to state the obvious, the study would also like to point out that so called ‘trolling’ – meaning provocative comments – will appear in the comment section no matter the content and caption. Therefore, these comments go under the word trolling or hating due to the fact that they lack arguments or valid reasons other than spreading negativity.

Trolling can affect a web forum and the social sustainability of a forum thread through an activity that leads to negative consequences for participants and participation. Trolling means posts with insults and attacks that are intended to provoke and irritate. By studying the consequences of interaction in web forums on programming, a better understanding of social sustainability is created. Social sustainability aspects concern human well-being but also basic needs for survival. A qualitative approach, inspired by netnography, provided the opportunity to interpret the contexts that arise in a forum conversation and how participation is influenced by the contributions of different participants. The approach created the basis for answering the research question: How does the interaction between participants affect social sustainability and what are the consequences of meetings in both national and international web forum for programming discussions? The analysis of data was conducted through interpretation of text and a process adapted to the netnography, which meant abstraction and comparison, control and refinement, generalization and theorizing. The results show that international forum threads, with English as the communication language, are less socially sustainable, than the national ones. Almost half of the forum threads in the study, 8 out of 17, can be assessed socially sustainable. Kudos trolling with interference in the interaction is recorded the most times but is only found in 3 of 17 forum threads. All forum threads that addressed school assignments were influenced by misunderstandings and a lack of understanding regarding the description of the question or answers. / Trollning kan påverka ett webbforum och en forumstråds sociala hållbarhet genom en aktivitet som leder till negativa konsekvenser för deltagarna och deltagandet. Trollning innebär inlägg med förolämpningar och påhopp som är avsedda att provocera och irritera. Genom undersökning av konsekvenser av interaktion i webbforum gällande programmering skapas en bättre förståelse för den sociala hållbarheten. Sociala hållbarhetsaspekter berör mänskligt välbefinnande, men även grundläggande behov för överlevnad. En kvalitativ ansats, inspirerad av netnografi, gav möjligheter att tolka de sammanhang som uppstår i en forumskonversation, och hur deltagandet påverkas av olika deltagares inlägg. Ansatsen skapade grunder för att besvara forskningsfrågan: Hur påverkar interaktionen mellan deltagare den sociala hållbarheten, och vilka är konsekvenserna av möten i, både nationella och internationella, webbforum för programmeringsdiskussioner? Analysen av data genomfördes genom tolkning av text, och en process anpassad till netnografin som innebar abstraktion och komparation, kontroll och förfining, generalisering samt teoretiserande. Resultatet visar att internationella forumstrådar, med engelska som kommunikationsspråk, är mindre socialt hållbara än de nationella. Nästan hälften av forumstrådarna i studien, 8 av 17, kan bedömas socialt hållbara. Kudostrollning med störning i interaktionen registreras flest gånger, men återfinns endas i 3 av 17 forumstrådar. Alla forumstrådar som behandlade skoluppgifter påverkades av missförstånd, och en oförståelse rörande beskrivning av frågan eller svaren.

In recent years, patent aggregation and patent trolling activities have received growing attention from all over the world because of the controversial nature of such activities. Somehow it becomes a global obsession to presume that such activities or even the existence of PAEs are problematic by nature and need to be redressed via government intervention, partly due to the unpromising situation in the US. This article seeks to explore the nature of such issue and find out the most appropriate way for China to deal with such issue. The author believes that while such activities might at first sight seem problematic, in fact they are legal commercial practice in general, or more specifically, they are merely strategic uses of patents. This article also argues that there are available remedies under both EU and Chinese legal framework to catch the real problematic conducts derived from such activities. Hence it would seem to the author that even though the quantity of such activities is meant to increase in China, there is neither justification nor need to intervene such activities: the existing legal framework is enough to address certain misconducts; and the market is capable of ensuring its own equilibrium.
