However, the focus on operational efficiency should not be the only approach to be taken. Performance must be a continuous system, continuing its role as the main public space within the city. From a non-governmental perspective of collective displacement, light infrastructure must also be provided. It is necessary that the series continue to be attractive and inviting to those who are circulating, which are urban to their users. Thus, a research presents in the area of the concept of urbanity and its dimensions and are tools of evaluation of the urbanity of spaces. Understanding that urbanity is a way to become your own unit, such as accessibility, security in access spaces, readability, vitality, among other aspects.

Avaliação da fluxometria laser doppler em dentes decíduos traumatizados necrosados antes e após tratamento endodôntico / Evaluation of laser Doppler flowmetry in traumatized primary teeth with pulp necrosis before and after endodontic treatment

Isabela Capparelli Cadioli Weffort 10 December 2007 (has links)
Studies on diagnosis of dental pulp necrosis in traumatized primary teeth using laser Doppler flowmetry (LDF) evaluate teeth with endodontic treatment; however, clinical diagnosis is performed in teeth with pulp necrosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the LDF as pulp vitality test in traumatized primary upper incisors, with pulp necrosis (DES), before and after endodontic treatment. The pulpal flux values of 57 children, aged from 40 to 85 months, were evaluated: IC DES - I VIT - 1 central incisor with pulp necrosis (readings before and after endodontic treatment) and 1 vital central or lateral incisor (readings in 2 sessions); Control group: I VIT - I VIT - 2 vital incisors (readings in 1 session). The Laser Doppler Flowmeter (Moor Instruments, moorLab, Axminster, UK) was used. It is a diode laser emitting at 780 nm and bandwidth at 15 kHz. A MP13 probe was placed on the buccal surface of the tooth, 4mm from the gingival margin using silicone splints. Two parameters were evaluated: F(AU), the flux value of each tooth in arbitrary units, and F(%), the percentage variation of the flux value between pairs of teeth in the same patient. The two parameters were used before and after endodontic treatment: F(AU) before, F(AU)after, F(%) before and F(%) after. In the 29 IC DES before, F(AU) ranged from 2.3 to 11.1AU; the mean was 5.4AU and the standard deviation was 2.5AU; in the 29 I VIT before, ranged from 4.2 to 16.1AU (9.6 ± 3.5AU); in the 29 IC DES after, the values ranged from 1.3 to 7.4AU (3.4 ± 1.6AU), and in the 29 I VIT after, from 3.6 to 19.7AU (9.3 ± 3.6AU). In the 62 I VIT analyzed in one session, the values ranged from 5.0 to 16.5AU (9.3 ± 2.4AU). In respect to F(%), in the 29 pairs of IC DES before - I VIT before, the values ranged from 28.0 to 98.1% (57.4 ± 17.2%); in the 29 pairs of IC DES after - I VIT after, from 18.0 to 84.5% (37.9 ± 15.2%); in the 31 pairs of I VIT - I VIT, from 57.5 to 146.5% (99.9 ± 23.3%). The performance of both tests was estimated by the area under the ROC curve (AUC). Regarding F(AU) before, the AUC was 0.862; in F(%) before, the AUC was 0.941; in F(AU) after, the AUC was 0.975. The performances were classified between moderate and highly accurate (95% Confidence Interval). Regarding F(%) after, the AUC was 0.987 and its performance was highly accurate. Comparing the AUCs, there was statistical significance (p=0.002), between F(AU) before and F(AU) after. The cut-off values were based on data before endodontic treatment. The F(AU) values that were equal to or smaller than 6.5AU, and the F(%) values that were equal to or smaller than 66.9% classified the tooth as non-vital The two parameters studied, F(AU) and F(%), are able to distinguish non-vital primary teeth from vital teeth, and to distinguish vital teeth from teeth with endodontic treatment.

Orienting Pacha: Value as Action in the Late Horizon Xauxa-Pachacamac Axis

Anderson, Ridge C. 18 April 2022 (has links)
The Andean Late Horizon (ca. AD 1438–1532) was a period of exceptionally rapid and far-reaching cultural change. Over this short span of only a few generations, the Inka ethnic group established an empire that was greater in size than any other pre-colonial American polity. The Inka accomplished their expansion without the use of certain institutions (i.e., a standing army, formal writing system, monetary system, or price-setting markets) that the received anthropological wisdom has long held as being necessary preconditions to imperial expansion. Standard explanations of Late Horizon culture change tend to overemphasize the roles of environmental constraints, social evolution, and economistic motives. In this thesis, I analyze Inka expansion beginning with the assumption that “value” was an assessment of socially-integrating creative action, rather than of objects to be exchanged and accumulated (cf. Graeber 2001). I determine that the Inkaic Late Horizon was motivated by pursuits of “vitality,” or the capacity to effect change in pacha—an Andean concept of the world as a mutable coalescence of time, space, and matter. Vitality was not captured through the production or accumulation of goods, but through intensifying their production and circulation. I conclude that Late Horizon political economy in the Xauxa-Pachacamac axis can best be understood as a socially-stratified “gift economy” in which what was ultimately transferred were not objects, but vitality.

Propiedades psicométricas de la escala de vitalidad subjetiva en pobladores adultos de Huachipa / Psychometric properties of the subjective vitality scale in adult residents of Huachipa

Ortiz de Orué Herles, Adriana Maria 14 December 2021 (has links)
The objective of this study was to determine the validity and reliability evidence of the Subjective Vitality Scale (SVS) in adults from Santa María de Huachipa. The sample consisted of 230 participants (36% men and 64% women) between 18 and 60 years old. In addition to the SVS, the Basic Psychological Needs Satisfaction and Frustration Scale (BPNSFS) was applied to perform convergent and divergent validity. As evidence of validity based on the internal structure, in the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) it was found that the unifactorial model presented adequate fit indices (χ2 = 35.6, gl = 14, CFI = .96, RMSEA = .037, SRMR = .08, λ = .25 and .78). In addition, the reliability analysis was performed using the omega coefficient for the only factor, which obtained a value of .84. Likewise, the result of relationships with other variables showed a positive correlation between the dimensions of satisfaction of basic psychological needs and subjective vitality (r =.42 and .47) and a negative relationship with the frustration dimensions of basic psychological needs and subjective vitality (r =.36 and .44). It is concluded that the Subjective Vitality scale is a measure with adequate psychometric properties for the study sample. / Tesis

Revitalisering av finlandssvenskt teckenspråk / Revitalization of Finland-Swedish Sign Language

Kintopf-Huuhka, Magdalena January 2023 (has links)

Investigating the relationship between psychological safety, well-being and performance in youth team sport athletes

Myrman, Filip, Lundgren, Axel January 2023 (has links)
The present study aimed to investigate the linear association between psychological safety and psychological well-being, and psychological well-being and self-perceived individual and team performance in Swedish youth team sport athletes. A cross-sectional design was used, and data were collected through questionnaires of psychological safety, positive affect, negative affect, vitality, individual performance, and team performance from 131 team sport athletes (93 males, 38 females). The variables were measured using the Team Psychological Safety Scale (TPSS), the Positive and Negative Affect short scale (I-PANAS-SF), the Subjective Vitality Scale (SVS) and a subjective measurement of individual and team performance. Findings from the linear regression analysis showed that negative affect predicted poor team performance. No other significant associations were found. The results from this study are discussed regarding what mechanism may underline the negative affects effect on team performance. Future research could delve deeper into the specific team dynamics that are necessary to cultivate psychological safety.

Julien, Anne 10 1900 (has links)
This dissertation examines the role of the festival in a linguistic community in a minority context confronted with assimilation, exogamy, diglossia, unequal access to services in their mother tongue, as well as limited access to cultural products of their linguistic group. The case of francophone festivals in a minority situation serves as a way to verify concretely and empirically the possibilities, the conditions, the limits and the constraints of this particular form of event as a vector of cultural vitality of a minority community. The festival is also explored in regard to cultural development and cultural democracy, that is, two cultural mechanisms related to modern cultural policy. The role of the festival in relation to identity affirmation and identity consolidation is also explored. A multiple case study was conducted in order to compare and analyze three francophone festivals in minority communities in Ontario that take place in different regions, and that have similar and different objectives: 1) La Nuit sur l’étang Sudbury); 2) the Festival franco-ontarien (Ottawa); and 3) the Festival du Loup (Lafontaine-Penetanguishene). By focusing on each of these cases, we are able to give a broader view of the festival phenomenon set in this particular context. This research presents, through the use of documentary sources, fieldwork observations and interviews with festival organizers, audience members and artists, the perceptions they have and the use they make of the festival. It also sheds light on the contribution of the festival pertaining to the aforementioned cultural mechanisms and if the actors directly implicated in this type of event perceive them as being an important issue for Frenchness. In sum, the various contributions of francophone festivals in Ontario studied in this research demonstrate how these events act as vectors of cultural vitality of a francophone minority community.
