No. of bitstreams: 1 Patrícia Marinho Gramacho.pdf: 894548 bytes, checksum: 14b172ac7ae7bd51991d78d09ea301e1 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2011-08-01 / The real aesthetics of Gaston Bachelard is based on belief in a primitive human feeling formed from primordial organic interests, called "hormones of the imagination" - water, air, earth and fire, which characterize the material and dynamic imagination ontogenic capacity, responsible for the simultaneous pregnancy of man and the world. This paper aims to describe the pleasant interface approach the child in the process of hospitalization in a Pediatric Oncology with the Children's Literature, emphasizing the human capacity to transform itself from the "wonder" arising out of this dynamic view of the imaginary. Were prepared three chapters on the subject. The first two are theoretical, presenting the concept of imagination and material dynamics and their interrelationship with authors like. The third, empirical, includes comments on the use of four books for hospitalized children with specific emphasis to the presence of material elements - water, air, earth and fire - contained therein. Despite sharing to ensure that the images should not be studied in fragments, were presented the comments of every book into separate parts for better visualization of the chosen book and you can understand how each work influences the child's imagination. It remained thus the reliability of care in the transcription experienced by four specific children, keeping the representations relating to certain books. The representations related to the interactions established between the world and the world transformed by the stories, the fiction experienced as a possible easing of tensions hospital; literature enabling the experience of lightness by the expression of repressed feelings and chained to the repetition of history, as ensuring the continuity of life, despite repeated frustrations. Using the poetic-analysis Bachelard (Bachelard, 1988) and an operant view of psychoanalysis (Kon, 1996), enhances the possibility of creating unique realities in fiction, which are marked by the cultural heritage of each one. The results confirm the existence of a poetic vision of the child, captured by the possibility of making them believe this time of the eruption, the "wonder" provided for reading.

With Great Power: Examining the Representation and Empowerment of Women in DC and Marvel Comics

Kilbourne, Kylee 01 December 2017 (has links)
Throughout history, comic books and the media they inspire have reflected modern society as it changes and grows. But women’s roles in comics have often been diminished as they become victims, damsels in distress, and sidekicks. This thesis explores the problems that female characters often face in comic books, but it also shows the positive representation that new creators have introduced over the years. This project is a genealogy, in which the development of the empowered superwoman is traced in modern age comic books. This discussion includes the characters of Kamala Khan, Harley Quinn, Gwen Stacy, and Barbara Gordon and charts how these four women have been empowered and disempowered throughout their comic canon. It rejects the lens of postfeminism and suggests that an intersectional feminism is still needed in today’s ever-evolving and diversifying world. Popular culture must be representative of everyone, and today’s women authors will be the driving force of diversity in comic books.

L’humour anamorphique sous le signe d’Hermès : Kateb Yacine, Antonine Maillet, Salman Rushdie, Patrick Chamoiseau / The anamorphic humour under the sign of Hermes : Kateb Yacine, Antonine Maillet, Salman Rushdie, Patrick Chamoiseau

Thomas, Céline 27 November 2014 (has links)
A comparative reading of '' La Poudre d'intelligence'' by Kateb Yacine, Pélagie-La-Charette by Antonine Maillet, Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie and Texaco by Patrick Chamoiseau brings to light the crucial role of the contingencies that make humour trigger from a common context. As a process, humour veils and unveils reality, just as the optical process of anamorphosis does. Now, identical epistemological disruption affects humour and anamorphosis, both sharing principle of re-Creating forms and a distorted world. An observer or reader proves therefore necessary to their realization. These two phenomena converge towards an anamorphic humour that stands out from the corpus' works. A poetical dream and a political clear-Headedness, humour initiates a quest for a communion filled with every possible hope. One marvels at its suggestive power and is invited to get into close acquaintance with the whole world. The phenomenology of anamorphic humour lies into its appearance/disappearance.Through the lens of the process of anamorphosis the focus will be set on how humour unfolds. Observing anamorphic humour amounts to studying the expression of a disruption in how the world is viewed as well as in the relationship to signs. It is in this sense that anamorphic humour could be associated with Hermes, who was originally evoked through small piles of stones on houses' and temples' thresholds. A symbol of threshold, transition, flow and movement, Hermes appears as an agitator of anamorphic humour, which is the hallmark of a passage, a change in direction, of a place where different meanings intertwine.

Circles of learning : creating opportunity to give voice and bear witness to self, others, and nature in environmental education

Cameron, Laura C. 21 March 2013 (has links)
By asking, “Is Circle (also known as “council”) an effective methodology for environmental education?”, this thesis explores the significance of creating Circles of learning as a communication process with implications for environmental education and personal transformation. From a phenomenological perspective, I have positioned my research as an autobiographical narrative of what it is to be both researcher (observer) and research instrument (facilitator & participant) as well as creating the conditions for a case study of Circle participants. Further, I held interviews with Circle practitioners and instructors. The premise of Circle is to create an intentional listening space for each person to have a voice and be witnessed as they tell their stories. This paper provides some insight here, and explores how Circle can become an effective means of exploring ecological identity, self-awareness, relationship-building, a sense of community, emotional connections to nature and a sense of wonder within the process.

Cornillon, Claire 11 June 2012 (has links) (PDF)

This study proposes an investigation on the presence of elements that arouse the imagination of the reader in child work of Clarice Lispector. I discuss here the different shapes that make up the comprehensive way of imagination, listing the four short stories by the author: O mistério do Coelho pensante; A mulher que matou os peixes; A vida íntima de Laura; Quase de verdade. This research will seek to demonstrate the versatility of the author in transit the different aspects of the imagination through a unique way, where the novelty, transgression and the vanguard are present through the typically peculiar language of Clarice Lispector, causing the reader, at the time the short stories were published, the effect of estrangement, regardless of whether it is an adult or a child. Clarice is one of the authors who will contribute to soften the national children's literature of the rooted pedagogical impositions from the colonial period.

Could reference tracks expand my horizons? : Implementing new knowledge into songwriting by reference tracks analysis

Sandström, Anton January 2022 (has links)

Berggren, Johanna January 2022 (has links)
