Neste trabalho, apresenta-se um estudo da argumentação no gênero carta do leitor de jornal, analisando sua natureza, sua estrutura geral e sua linguagem. O corpus é um conjunto de 74 textos, publicados entre julho e outubro de 2008, no jornal O Globo, no primeiro caderno, na seção Opinião. Objetivou-se, nesta pesquisa, expor alguns dos principais conceitos e perspectivas no que diz respeito à argumentação, tendo como bases teóricas a Semântica Argumentativa e a Linguística Textual, assim como examinar os fatores que delimitam a carta de leitor como um gênero textual específico, de caráter argumentativo. Além disso, apresentou-se análise da estrutura geral dos textos, em seus elementos principais tema, tese e argumentos , e comentaram-se aspectos relativos ao tipo de linguagem adotada, principalmente em relação à polifonia e ao emprego de conectivos. Por fim, propuseram-se estratégias e atividades para o trabalho com argumentação em sala de aula do ensino médio, utilizando como material as cartas dos leitores

Os editoriais são textos argumentativos que expõem a visão do jornal, do qual fazem parte, sobre um determinado acontecimento. Na construção destes textos, o jornalista dispõe de estratégias que o auxiliam na produção de sua argumentação. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar quais estratégias são utilizadas nos textos de editoriais. As estratégias estudadas neste trabalho são a citação, o argumento de autoridade, as aspas, a seleção lexical (índices de avaliação e indicadores atitudinais, metáforas, termos semanticamente relacionados, etc), as porcentagens, estatísticas e dados numéricos, as exemplificações, a concessão e os modalizadores. Para tanto, foram selecionados vinte e quatro textos de editoriais do jornal O Globo, adquiridos semanalmente, ao longo do primeiro semestre de 2008. Através da análise, foi observado que tais estratégias se mostraram recorrentes e que as mesmas trouxeram contribuição para o propósito comunicativo do argumentador, bem como auxiliaram na busca da persuasão do leitor / The editorials are argumentative texts that show the vision of the periodical in which they are part on one specific event. About texts constructions, the journalist makes use of strategies that help him in the arguments productions. This work has as objective to analyze which strategies are used in the editorial texts. The strategies studied are citation, the authority, the quotations marks, the lexical election (indices of evaluation and attitude indicators, metaphors, terms semantically related etc), the percentages, statistics and numerical data, the exemplifications, the concessive elements and the modality. Thus, twenty and four editorial texts of the O Globo periodical had been selected, acquired weekly, throughout the first semester of 2008. Through the analysis, was observed that such strategies had shown recurrent and had brought contribution for the argumentative`s communicative intention, as well as had assisted in the search of the persuasion of the reader

Neste trabalho, é nosso objetivo principal investigar o discurso argumentativo no gênero editorial dos jornais O Dia e Folha de São Paulo, estabelecendo comparações. É intuito, também, explorar o posicionamento do articulista frente aos argumentos levantados no texto, as vozes que permeiam os editoriais, bem como o papel dos conectivos no discurso editorialista. Esta pesquisa está dividida em quatro capítulos: o primeiro, que trata de gêneros textuais e tipologia textual; o segundo, que compara o jornalismo do Sudeste com o do Piauí; o terceiro, que expõe sobre o modo argumentativo, e o quarto e último, que trata da análise dos editoriais. O corpus do trabalho consta de 20 editoriais, sendo que dez são do jornal teresinense O Dia e dez da Folha de São Paulo. Os editoriais do jornal O Dia foram coletados entre setembro e dezembro de 2011, e os da Folha, entre junho e setembro deste ano. Para subsidiar nossas observações, elegemos, como aporte teórico, as ideias defendidas, principalmente, por Bakthin ([1979], 2003)), Marcuschi (2008, 2010), Koch (2011), Perelman e Olbrechts-Tyteca (2005), Charaudeau (1992, 1997, 2006, 2010), Ducrot e Anscombre (1983) / In this paper our main goal is to investigate the argumentative speech in the editorial gender from O Dia and Folha de São Paulo Newspapers, establishing comparisons. Exploiting the position from the articulator faced to the arguments raised in the text, the voices which pervade the editorials as well as the role of the connectives in the editorial speech are also our aim. This research is divided in four chapters: the first treats the genders and textual typology; the second relates to journalism in the Southeast Region and in the State of Piauí; the third exposes the argumentative manner and the fourth and last analyses the editorials. The corpus of this paper consists of 20 editorials, being ten from O Dia Newspaper and ten from Folha de São Paulo Newspaper. The editorials from O Dia Newspaper were collected between the months of September and December 2011, and those from Folha de São Paulo Newspaper between the months of June and September 2012. A tese analisa redações produzidas por candidatos ao vestibular de 2008 da UERJ, nas quais são investigados aspectos concernentes à superestrutura do gênero dissertação de vestibular e às categorias do modo argumentativo de organização do texto, a saber: a tomada de posição, a presença de argumentos orientados para a tese do argumentador, a presença de contra-argumentos e as estratégias argumentativas que se destacam. Busca-se entender a relação entre as falhas redacionais e o ensino desse modo argumentativo do texto, apontando-se os estudos recentes em teoria da argumentação, semântica argumentativa, linguística textual e análise do discurso, que podem oferecer subsídios ao ensino da argumentação escrita, sobretudo os de Oliveira (2010), Charaudeau (2008) e Bernardo (2007 e 2010). Este trabalho interessa-se particularmente pelas contribuições passíveis de aplicação no ensino de redação em nível médio. Tanto os aspectos textuais, quanto os situacionais são analisados com vistas a que as conclusões advindas de tal análise possam convergir para contribuições ao ensino de produção de textos, o que se materializa no capítulo em que se apresentam sugestões de atividades / The thesis examines candidates essays produced by the vestibular, 2008 UERJ, where are investigated aspects related to the superstructure of the genre dissertation of vestibular and the categories of argumentative mode of organization of the text, namely the position, the presence of arguments oriented theory of the arguer, the presence of counter-arguments and argumentative strategies that stand out. We seek to understand the relationship between education on this mode of organization and failures in argumentative texts, as well as point recent studies in argumentation theory, argumentative semantics, text linguistics, discourse analysis, that may offer subsidies to teaching of written argumentation, mainly Oliveira (2010), Charaudeau (2008) e Bernardo (2007 e 2010). This work is particularly interested in the contributions that can be applied in the teaching of writing in high school. Both the textual and situational aspects will be analyzed, aiming to the conclusions arising from this analysis may converge for contributions to teaching text production, wich is demonstrated in the chapter were are offered suggestions of didactic activities

Esta dissertação tem como objetivo revelar o potencial de avaliação subjetiva, explícita ou implícita, dos predicativos de um importante gênero argumentativo na sociedade: a sentença judicial. Para isso, busca analisar esse gênero sob a perspectiva da Linguística Sistêmico-Funcional, teoria introduzida pelo linguista inglês Michael Halliday, que cuida da linguagem como um sistema de estratos gramaticais e extralinguísticos, nos quais se desenvolvem os conceitos de contexto de situação (registro) e de cultura (gênero). A respeito dos aspectos linguísticos, a análise da oração sob o ponto de vista de uma das metafunções inerentes à linguagem, a interpessoal, revela as interações desenvolvidas na materialização de um texto. Após a apresentação dessa teoria linguística e do enquadramento do gênero sentença judicial nessa abordagem, com a desmistificação da neutralidade de seu emissor, o juiz, passou-se a descrever como o magistrado estrutura a sua fundamentação nas sentenças que tem de prolatar mediante o uso de recursos argumentativos. Em seguida, na pesquisa do corpus selecionado, sentenças judiciais da Justiça Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro proferidas no ano de 2011, foram analisadas as ocorrências da estrutura predicativa como estratégia argumentativa de convencimento, às partes e à sociedade, de que a decisão tomada para resolver o conflito judicial foi a mais ponderada e condizente com a verossimilhança dos fatos apresentados no decorrer do processo judicial / This master degree dissertation aims to reveal the subjective evaluation potential, explicit or implicit, of the predicatives on a important argumentative genre: the judicial sentence. For that purposes, it analyzes this genre through Systemic Functional Linguistics, theory brought by linguist Michael Halliday that treats language as a grammatical and extralinguistic strata system, in which evolve the concepts of context of situation (register) and of culture (genre). Regarding the linguistic aspects, the clause analysis under the view of the language metafunctions, the interpersonal one, shows the interaction within the instantiation of any text. After presenting this linguistic theory and framing judicial sentence into this approach, with the demystification of neutrality of its speaker, the judge, it explains how the magistrate structures, in the sentence he has to present, the reasonable basis by the use of argumentative resources. At last, in the select corpus research, judicial sentences of Federal Justice in Rio de Janeiro, given in 2011, were analyzed the occurrences of predicatives structures as a argumentative strategy of conviction, to the parts and the society, that the decision made to solve the judicial conflict was the most balanced and truthful to the likelihood of the facts shown during the litigious judicial process

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / O propósito deste trabalho é analisar os conetivos, ferramentas linguísticas que se propõem nos enunciados a estabelecer ligação, do ponto de vista funcional, em seus usos, e que representam valores semânticos importantes discursivamente. Para isso, será válido utilizarmos fundamentações teóricas da Linguística Textual e do Funcionalismo. O corpus de análise baseia-se em textos cuja tipologia é argumentativa, mais especificamente o gênero editorial. Dessa forma, procuraremos analisar como esses conectivos (conjunções, preposições, advérbios...) revelam marcas semânticas importantes que se constituem como verdadeiras estratégias argumentativas por parte dos autores em sua proposta temática e que precisam ser reconhecidas pelo leitor para uma compreensão textual mais abrangente. Essa forma de abordagem implicará análises de coesão e de coerência textuais e, por isso, é também uma proposta de avaliação de como os textos são constituídos em sua tessitura, resultando na produção de sentido. Os textos em análise serão os correspondentes aos editoriais da revista Veja, cujo titulo da seção chama-se Carta ao leitor. As abordagens colocarão em relevo os elementos conectores tanto do ponto de vista sintático-semântico bem como em relação às implicações pragmático-discursivas, fatores que servirão de base para compreensão/interpretação dos textos. Espera-se com isso proporcionar análises contundentes, levando em consideração a descrição, estruturação e o funcionamento da Língua portuguesa, com o objetivo de colaborar para o desenvolvimento científico das abordagens linguísticas / The objective presented herein is the analysis of connectives, linguistic tools for the establishment of linking within the sentences, from the Functional perspective, and representative of semantic values important in discursive terms. Thus, the theoretical bases of Text Linguistics and Linguistic Functionalism are considered. The corpus of analysis is composed of texts of the argumentative type, of the editorial genre, more specifically. For this reason, we analyze how these connectives (conjunctions, prepositions, adverbs ...) reveal important semantic marks that are considered true argumentative strategies by authors in their thematic intention and that also need to be recognized by the reader for a broad textual comprehension. This approach involves the analysis of cohesion and textual coherence and, therefore, it is also a proposal for the assessment of how texts are constituted in its inner texture, leading to the production of meaning. The texts analyzed were extracted from Veja newsmagazines editorial, from the section called "Carta ao Leitor" (Letter to the Reader). The approaches highlight the connectives from the syntactic-semantic point of view as well as in relation to the pragmatic-discursive implications, and both aspects converge as the basis for understanding texts. We expect herein to provide blunt analyses which take into account the description, structuring and functioning of the Portuguese language, with the objective of collaborating in the scientific development of linguistic approaches

Esta dissertação apresenta uma proposta para trabalhar, na escola, com a argumentação dedutiva em geometria. A proposta faz uso de material digital consistindo de instrumentos virtuais de desenho que realizam as transformações geométricas de translação, reflexão, rotação e ampliação. Fazendo uso do material digital, elaboramos uma seqüência didática composta por três etapas – atividades de exploração, construção e argumentação, e uma experiência foi realizada em turma de Ensino Médio. Na analise do processo de aprendizagem dos alunos utilizamos a teoria de Van Hiele sobre níveis de pensamento geométrico e a teoria de Duval sobre registros de representações semióticas. No laboratório de informática, inicialmente os alunos sujeitos da experiência foram instigados a explorar os instrumentos virtuais, expressando seu entendimento em registro discursivo; construíram o instrumento virtual a partir do protocolo de construção, aqui transitando entre registros discursivo e geométrico; e finalmente trabalharam na argumentação que explica as transformações realizadas pelos instrumentos. Os resultados obtidos mostram que o uso dos instrumentos virtuais de desenho contribuiu para que os alunos entendessem, no contexto da geometria, o propósito de um raciocínio dedutivo. / This dissertation presents a proposal to work, at school, the deductive reasoning in geometry. The proposal makes use of digital material consisting of virtual drawing tools that perform geometric transformations of translation, reflection, rotation and enlargement. Making use of digital material, it was developed a didactic sequence consists of three stages - exploration, construction and argumentation, and an experiment was performed in a high school class. In the analysis of the learning process of the students it was used the theory of Van Hiele related to levels of geometric thought and the theory of Duval related to registers of semiotic representations. In the computer lab, initially the students were encouraged to explore the virtual instruments, expressing their understanding in a discursive register; they made the geometric construction of the instruments, making use of discursive and geometric registers; finally they worked on the argument that explains the transformations performed by the instruments. The results show that the use of virtual instruments helped students to understand, in the geometric context, the purpose of a deductive reasoning.

Esta tese apresenta a formalização, construção e validação experimental de um mecanismo de interação entre agentes baseado em valores de troca. Através do mecanismo de interação, os agentes são capazes de estabelecer, avaliar e regular os balanços de troca de suas interações, com o objetivo de alcançar resultados que eles valorizem, i.e., considerem adequados. Na formalização do mecanismo de interação são considerados diversos aspectos abordados nas Ciências Sociais, na Psicologia e em Teorias Utilitaristas. No mecanismo são observados, igualmente, os aspectos sociais e psicológicos que podem influenciar os resultados das interações entre os agentes. Desse modo, o mecanismo leva em consideração que os agentes podem construir suas estratégias levando em consideração as informações relacionadas com o “poder social” e as “atitudes” de interação. No mecanismo de interação recorre-se aos diálogos de argumentação com a finalidade de permitir que os agentes possam influenciar os seus parceiros em relação ao estabelecimento de acordos sobre os serviços e aos valores de troca envolvidos nas interações. Na validação experimental, o cenário utilizado foi o dos “Robôs Coletores de Lixo em Marte”. Através dos resultados obtidos, pode-se observar que o mecanismo de interação considera os valores de troca no processo de formação da cooperação, auxiliando os agentes na escolha de futuros parceiros. / This thesis presents the formalization, construction and validation of an interaction mechanism based on exchange values. Through the interaction mechanism, the agents are capable to establish, to evaluate and to regulate the balances of exchange of their interactions, with the objective of reaching the results that they consider adequate. In the formalization of the mechanism several aspects of Social Sciences, Psychology and Utilitarian Theories are considered. In the mechanism are observed the social and psychological aspects that can influence the results of the interactions between the agents. In this manner, the mechanism considers that the agents can build their strategies considering the information related to the social power and to interaction attitudes. In the mechanism the argument dialogs are used with the purpose to allow the agents to influence their partners in relation to the establishment of agreements about the services and about the exchange values involved in the interactions. In the validation, the scenario used was the “Garbage Collector Robots in Mars”. Through the obtained results, it was possible to observe that the interaction mechanism considers the values of exchange in the process of formation of the cooperation, helping the agents to choose their future partners.

[pt] A partir de pressupostos teóricos da argumentação (Shiffrin, 1987; Wegman, 1994; Gryner, 2000; Gille, 2001) aliados a estudos que tratam de falas opinativas (Shiffrin 1990; Shi-xu, 2000) e a trabalhos realizados no âmbito da avaliação (Labov, 1972; Linde, 1997; Martin, 1999, 2003), este estudo investiga a dimensão avaliativa da argumentação na fala opinativa de profissionais de uma empresa em processo de mudança. A metodologia de estudo compreende a análise das entrevistas apresentadas por quatro empregados da empresa, acerca de como avaliam a atuação do grupo gestor da organização e de como vêem as suas próprias possibilidades de atuação neste contexto. A análise dos dados permitiu a emergência de padrões que identificam a avaliação como um movimento argumentativo, bem como desvendou marcas avaliativas que incidem pervasivamente na estrutura da argumentação do discurso de opinião dos informantes desta pesquisa. Os resultados também mostram que a avaliação pode marcar a opinião pela modificação dos papéis de autor e animador (Goffman, [1979] 2002, 1981), além de poder ser formatada na sustentação através de silogismo inferencial a partir de narrativas factivas, hipotéticas ou fictivas (Oliveira, Bastos e Pereira, 2007). / [en] From theoretical budgets on argumentation (Shiffrin, 1987; Wegman, 1994; Gryner, 2000; Gille, 2001) allied to studies which deal with opinative speeches (Shiffrin 1990; Shi-xu, 2000) and researches developed in the scope of evaluation (Labov, 1972; Linde, 1997; Martin, 1999, 2003), this study looks into the evaluative dimension of argumentation in opinative speech by professionals at a company in process of change. The study methodology takes into account the analysis of interviews given by four employees of the company towards their evaluation of the organization administrative group and of their own possibilities to act in this context. The data analysis found out the appearance of standards that identify the evaluation as an argumentative move, and unveiled as well the evaluative marks that pervasively occur in the argumentation structure of the opinion discourse by the informers of this research. The results also show that evaluation may assign opinion by the exchange of author and animator roles (Goffman, [1979] 2002, 1981), besides the possibility of being shaped in sustaining through inferential syllogism based on factual, hypothetical or fictive narratives (Oliveira, Bastos e Pereira, 2007).

This paper aims to explore the functions of the theory of legal argumentation (TLA) on Constitutional States and will especially focus on the political and self-reflective functions of the TLA within the framework of a neo-constitutionalistic legal theory. The first part of the paper includes a definition of the TAL and an analysis of its main functions. At the end of the paper the author provides the bases for the development of a neoconstitutionalistic legal theory. / Este trabajo pretende explorar las funciones de la teoría de la argumentación jurídica (TAJ) en los Estados constitucionales y se concentrará en subrayar las funciones políticas y autorreflexivas de la TAJ en el marco de una teoría del Derecho neoconstitucionalista. La primera parte incluye una definición de la TAJ y un examen de sus funciones generales. En la parte final, el autor ofrece un programa para el desarrollo de una teoría neoconstitucionalista.
