Assistance à la recherche documentaire par une approche adaptative à base d’agents et d’artefacts / Document research assistance by an adaptive approach based on agents and artifacts

El Guedria Sgaier, Zina 15 October 2018 (has links)
The development and multiplication of information systems and platforms for information access has been accentuated over the past thirty years. The large volume of information available has raised many scientific challenges in different areas such as information retrieval. To access documents grouped in a digital corpus, one must be able to express his/her information need, often in the form of a query, to associate the relevant documents and present them in the best possible way to users. Document research in a thematic digital corpus presenting a high level of technicality in the concerned discipline can be considered as a browsing process driven by some information needs. Such browses requires the use of traditional information retrieval tools to select relevant documents based on a query But they can be improved by the use of customization and adaptation mechanisms in order to refine the representation of information needs according to the specificities of a user, his current browsing or the corpus considered. Indeed, access to digital documents raises problems related to the search for information, the visualization of the results of a query and the browsing between the documents. The process of information retrieval requires to be improved and especially by the integration of the user as a main factor to take into account in the search for satisfaction of his/her information needs. We consider several approaches to help users in their search for documents. A first assistance concerns the reformulation of queries by targeting an audience of users unfamiliar with the technical terms of the field and struggling to express in the form of a query their need. The second approach that we propose is not to consider the user in isolation but to bring it closer to those who have expressed similar research to find the documents they considered relevant. Finally, we include works from the field of the recommendation to better understand the informational needs of the user and help them find what they are looking for by recommending documentary resources. In this thesis, we propose to treat this diversity of influence by a multi-agent system interacting with a shared environment representing the users browsing so that the system may be adapted to use either assistance facilities according to the user's expertise. We applied our work for document research in a digital corpus of legal documents.

“If the robot makes a mistake, then I'm the one who made it" : A qualitative study of students' conceptions of technology and programming in primary school in grade 3.

Rhodin, Isabell January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of the study is to increase knowledge about the conceptions students in grade 3 have about technology and programming. The study is based on two questions: What conceptions do students have about the subject of technology? What ideas do students have about programming and the connection to the technology subject? The method used in the study was semi-structured qualitative interviews. These interviews were videotaped and conducted in four focus groups of three students each. The results of the study show that the students' conceptions of technology are largely related to the subject of physics. Motor and creative elements, artifacts and innovations are further variations on how technology is represented. The connection between technology and programming is diffuse and many students refer to the mathematics subject. Many students have trouble seeing programming from a whole and a context and do not express the benefit of having programming knowledge. The other students explain programming in artifacts is helpful and a way of streamlining work tasks for human. The result gives an indication that teachers need to make visible the breadth of the subject and the role of programming and its connection with technology. The teacher needs to concretize and put programming in connection with different contexts for deepened understanding and knowledge, as the students will be given the conditions necessary to actively participate in our present and future society.

Bewertung der Benutzbarkeit von Internet-Anwendungen

Raasch, Jörg January 2004 (has links)

Algorithm for Detection of Raising Eyebrows and Jaw Clenching Artifacts in EEG Signals Using Neurosky Mindwave Headset

Vélez, Luis, Kemper, Guillermo 01 January 2021 (has links)
The present work proposes an algorithm to detect and identify the artifact signals produced by the concrete gestural actions of jaw clench and eyebrows raising in the electroencephalography (EEG) signal. Artifacts are signals that manifest in the EEG signal but do not come from the brain but from other sources such as flickering, electrical noise, muscle movements, breathing, and heartbeat. The proposed algorithm makes use of concepts and knowledge in the field of signal processing, such as signal energy, zero crossings, and block processing, to correctly classify the aforementioned artifact signals. The algorithm showed a 90% detection accuracy when evaluated in independent ten-second registers in which the gestural events of interest were induced, then the samples were processed, and the detection was performed. The detection and identification of these devices can be used as commands in a brain–computer interface (BCI) of various applications, such as games, control systems of some type of hardware of special benefit for disabled people, such as a chair wheel, a robot or mechanical arm, a computer pointer control interface, an Internet of things (IoT) control or some communication system.

Hachemaoui, Mehdi, Loberg Bateman, William January 2021 (has links)
This study aims to examine how professionalization and commercializationinfluence the culture of the organization in a non-profit association. The studyobject is the elite preparatory activity in a sports organization. Therespondents in this study consist of head coaches, coaches and leaders inmanagerial positions who together have contributed to empirical material inthe form of qualitative data. The results were then analyzed out of Schein'stheory of organizational culture and the three cultural levels. The conclusionstated that artifacts and espoused values were identifiable in theorganizational culture based on Schein's theory. However, the underlyingassumptions were more difficult to understand. A connection that indicates aprofessionalization and commercialization of the non-profit activity could bepointed out.

De la business intelligence interne vers la business intelligence dans le cloud : modèles et apports méthodologiques / From internal business intelligence to business intelligence on the cloud : models and methodological contributions

Sangupamba Mwilu, Odette 03 April 2018 (has links)
BI and cloud computing are two major areas of computer science research and in particular in information system. A research combining these two concepts has a double interest : On the one hand, in business, the BI becomes increasingly an important part of the information system which requires investment in terms of computing performance and data volumes. On the other hand, cloud computing offers new opportunities to manage data for analysis.Given the possibilities of cloud, migration question of the information system including BI is of great interest. In particular, researchers must provide models and methods to help professional in BI migration to the cloud. The research question is : how to migrate BI to the cloud? In this thesis, we address this issue using design science research approach. We implement a decision-making help for BI migration to the cloud based on taxonomies. We provide an operational guidance model that is instantiated by a BI taxonomy in the cloud and from that rules for BI migration to the cloud are arised.

Cliff Walls: Threats to Validity in Empirical Studies of Open Source Forges

Pratt, Landon James 27 February 2013 (has links) (PDF)
Artifact-based research provides a mechanism whereby researchers may study the creation of software yet avoid many of the difficulties of direct observation and experimentation. Open source software forges are of great value to the software researcher, because they expose many of the artifacts of software development. However, many challenges affect the quality of artifact-based studies, especially those studies examining software evolution. This thesis addresses one of these threats: the presence of very large commits, which we refer to as "Cliff Walls." Cliff walls are a threat to studies of software evolution because they do not appear to represent incremental development. In this thesis we demonstrate the existence of cliff walls in open source software projects and discuss the threats they present. We also seek to identify key causes of these monolithic commits, and begin to explore ways that researchers can mitigate the threats of cliff walls.

[pt] CARACTERIZAÇÃO METROLÓGICA DE SCANNERS ÓPTICOS TRIDIMENSIONAIS POR PROJEÇÃO DE LUZ ESTRUTURADA APLICADOS A ENSAIOS DE COLETES BALÍSTICOS / [en] ETROLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL OPTICAL SCANNERS BY STRUCTURED LIGHT PROJECTION APPLIED TO BALLISTIC VESTS TESTS

FILIPE DMENGEON PEDREIRO BALBINO 01 June 2021 (has links)
[en] This dissertation aims at performing the metrological characterization of three-dimensional optical scanners by structured light projection for application in ballistic vest tests. Three-dimensional scanning techniques have been gaining popularity in recent decades, however the recent use of 3D scanning equipment in ballistic vests testing is a new application for these devices, especially in the characterization of traumas caused by projectile impacts, which motivated the realization of the study. The methodology used was based on bibliographic, documentary, experimental and laboratory research aimed at collecting data using a structured light projection scanner in the context of ballistic vests tests and comparing them with reference values. Procedures for alignment, segmentation, filtering and establishment of reference planes were suggested, which proved to be adequate for the treatment of point clouds obtained from ballistic vest tests. The results confirmed the systematic errors reported in the literature for structured light scanning equipment and made it possible to estimate the measurement uncertainty for the equipment in question. It was concluded that the critical trauma measurement values are correctly measured by the 3D scanning instrument and by using the suggested method for treating point clouds in this context.
