Jaroš, Aleš January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe the role of the digital technologies in the homework preparation of the pupils, how do they use the digital technologies and whether they use it for the learning at all. This thesis evaluates also if the pupils can use the digital technologies for learning and in which way they use them, what is their vision of learning, what pluses and minuses in the digital technology usage see the pupils from the sixth to ninth grade. How do the parents encourage their children to use these technologies for the homework. The theoretical part focuses on the role and possibilities of using digital technologies in the education and homework of pupils as well as on the possible positive and negative aspects of using DT in the life of sixth to ninth grade pupils of nine-year primary school. It also describes the developmental characteristics of older school-age children and net generation. The practical part deals with a research survey performed among 169 pupils of a primary school in Most with the aim to discover whether and in which way are the pupils using the digital technology for the homework and what are the preferred technologies. The thesis focuses further on the results of the semi-structured interviews with the parents of the pupils to find out, how far are...

Chytré telefony ve vzdělávání / Smartphones in education

Hruška, Ondřej January 2019 (has links)
Modern technology has become an integral part of our life. Schools are often conservative, so involvement of technology in education is delayed. Most of the population own a smartphone, and while some people say that smartphones should be used in the lessons, others would prefer a complete ban on them. This work sums up strengths and weaknesses of smartphones in education based on literature and discusses some recommendations on their use. Smartphones usage in education was studied in an application which helps with basics of Russian alphabet. It was shown that majority of the users did not read license terms, preferred the same sex for application voice and tended to leave the application prematurely. A questionnaire survey on a school was used to grasp the whole topic. It was revealed that that touch devices would be welcome in education by students, and they are prepared to use their own smartphone for studying although rather at school than in their free time. Mobile phone is the preferred device for games playing and internet browsing but the most commonly used applications include social networks, communication programs and video players. It seems that the worst school results are achieved by students who use the smartphones most, but best results are not achieved by students who use the phone the least.

Digitisations effect on the inflation rate : An empirical analysis of possible digitisation channels

Buchheim, Viktor, Kedert, Mikael January 2016 (has links)
This thesis investigates the impact of a more digitised economy on the inflation rate. European countries have historically done well in reaching their inflation target. In recent years however, policymakers have been puzzled over low inflation rates that seem to be difficult to stimulate. Just recently the impact of digitisation on price stability has gained some interest in economic research however the lack of empirical evidence on this relationship is severe. Based on scarce literature and existing theories hypotheses were constructed to test certain digitisation channels effect on the inflation rate. By gathering relevant data on inflation and the identified digitisation channels for 17 European countries over an 11- year period, econometric models corresponding to the hypotheses were analysed. The estimated results show that digitisation have a varying net-effect on the inflation rate, demonstrating that digitisation plays a role in determining fluctuations in price stability when controlling for other macroeconomic factors. These findings indicate that policymakers should consider digital technological development when targeting inflation, even though the effects may be temporary.

The social services' work with digital meetings in children - and young errands : opportunities and obstacles for increased participation

Bohlin, Nidas January 2021 (has links)
In the wake of the covid-19, many Swedish businesses have changed and taken measures to reduce the spread of infection between people. People's situation and living conditions have changed over a short period of time and it is somewhat unclear how this affects psychosocial health over a longer period of time. The activities of the social services have also had to change in their way of meeting children and young people in order to continue to be able to protect them from getting hurt. This study has examined how social workers perceive the participation of children and young people in digital meetings. The study was conducted on the basis of a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with seven social secretaries who have experience of working with children and young people, after which a thematic analysis was used on the interview material. The theoretical references used include Molin's (2004) model of the domains of participation and Shiers' (2001) model of "the path to increased participation". The results show that social workers have predominantly positive experiences of digital meetings with children and young people. Digital meetings are primarily a complement to the physical meeting and enable increased participation by giving children and young people more options to express opinions by contributing to increased accessibility and a sense of security. The participation of children and young people can be strengthened by activities creating routines and increasing the competence of employees regarding digital technology and digital meetings.

An exploration of micro-teaching skills with digital technology (cell phone) in B.ED. programmes at a Western Cape University

Omolere, Okuntade Japhet January 2020 (has links)
Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / Micro-teaching provides a framework for teachers’ professional development with emphasis on the teach and re-teach cycle as a practical procedure for the development of micro-teaching skills. One fundamental element in this teach and re-teach cycle is the use of digital technology tools as a recording device which may help aid the understanding and application of micro-teaching skills. This study explores micro-teaching skills with the use of digital technology (cell phone) in B.Ed. programmes at a Western Cape university. The study aims to merge the past and present strategies to initiate the development of a simple model to improve micro-teaching methodology using a simple and mostly available digital technology tool which can allow for self-evaluation and personal reflection. The study seeks to investigate how a digital technology, through a cell phone, can guide practical learning to support pre-service teachers in the micro-teaching presentation. The underpinning theories that frame this study were Vygotsky’s Socio-cultural Theory, Bandura’s Social Learning Theory and Mishra & Koehler’s Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) Theory. These theories emphasize social interactions, modelling and the use of technological tools as a significant aspect of skills development. The combination of these theories informs the conceptually developed knowledge acquisition, knowledge construction and the implementation with technology (KACIT) model with the aim to encourage the construction and implementation of micro-teaching knowledge with available digital technology tools. The study employs a sequential explanatory design, using a case study approach, which draws on both quantitative and qualitative methods as sources of data collection. The quantitative procedure adopted video recording as a form of data collection, using a conceptually developed teaching skills rubric, with a three level Likert-scale rating. SPSS version 25 was used to get the aggregated descriptive statistical values of each teaching skill. The qualitative procedure employed unstructured interviews, lesson plan observation, and thematic and content analysis was used to interpret and analyse the interviews and lesson plans respectively. The sample size of this study is drawn from the B.Ed. students in the Faculty of Education at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). Two hundred and sixteen (216) participants were involved in the quantitative data collection phase, while the qualitative data collection phase consisted of twelve (12) participants for the focus group discussion, five (5) school-based supervisors, five (5) pre-service teachers and (5) five lesson plans from the students-portfolio documents. The findings attest to the general context of micro-teaching as a strategy for developing pre-service teachers‟ teaching skills. It further highlights the high theoretical knowledge levels of micro-teaching of the B.Ed. students, and the relative lack of practical knowledge of micro-teaching of the students. In addition, the findings reveal the high technological knowledge levels of the participants and the need to deepen the professional knowledge of the B.Ed. students along the lines of authentic teaching experiences within the university environment. As part of the recommendations, the study emphasises the use of a digital video platform as a complementary strategy and as a form of reflective practice in micro-teaching presentations. Importantly, the study further recommends that the Minimum Requirements for Teacher Education Qualifications (MRTEQ) policy document, on the knowledge mixes for teaching competences in terms of the observation outcome, should be re-considered with a clear guideline for South African universities to have a uniform framework and a clear picture of its implementation.

Etika jako součást digitální gramotnosti středoškolských učitelů / Ethics as a part of digital literacy of secondary school teachers

Sissak, Jiří January 2021 (has links)
This thesis explores the content and position of ethics in the digital literacy of secondary school teachers. Ethics plays a very important role in the overall adult literacy in the 21st century. Ethics is an essential part of the everyday life of a secondary school teacher, not only in online teaching conducted through digital technologies with social networking elements, but also in working with the information (data) that they encounter in the course of their job duties and in their daily lives The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on ethics in relation to digital literacy and the digital world. It analyses the notion of digital as such and, on its basis, the andragogical view of ethics and digital literacy. It defines the concepts of digital ethics and digital literacy in all interactions, both in a historical context in relation to the development of digital technologies and in relation to the digital identities of the contemporary citizen. The thesis explores the new concept of "digital identities-domains" in terms of the emergence of information (data) about the individual and the interaction of the individual with the digital world through digital identities. It systematizes individual digital identities, their influence on the individual and his/her life in the technological world. It...

The correlation between Business Intelligence and digital technology on digital marketing in university information systems : A qualitative study examining the impact of business intelligence on university digital marketing and its relationship to the institution's information system

Reveman, Felix, Listerman, Leo January 2022 (has links)
Digital media is used by millions of people daily to access various services. This digital development is something that universities can take advantage of to more easily reach out to prospective students and already enrolled students at the university. This study investigates the effects of business intelligence (BI) on the work of digital marketing in connection with a university's information system. The result indicated that digital marketing is an important part of the university's information system as it provides the opportunity to reach target groups effectively. The results also indicated that BI tools can help universities gain insights into the performance of different marketing channels and identify the most effective ones. This gives the universities the opportunity to focus on the best channels and adjust their marketing efforts to increase efficiency. The respondents chose to use various channels including social media, search word advertising and the web to reach their target group and tailored their marketing to specific cultural and moral needs of the target group. Digital technology was pivotal in collecting the necessary data from various channels, which helped to improve marketing and attract more students. The study indicated that some universities share large amounts of data collected from the marketing/communications department at the institution with other parts of the university's information system and departments. This is to streamline cooperation between these areas at the institution. However, some university departments do not consider this type of collected data to be as useful. Laws such as GDPR have a significant impact on universities use of BI and how they can market, collect, and communicate with their institution.

[pt] O SILÊNCIO NO CINEMA CONTEMPORÂNEO: DIÁLOGOS ENTRE BRASIL E COLÔMBIA / [en] SILENCE IN CONTEMPORARY CINEMA: DIALOGUES BETWEEN BRAZIL AND COLOMBIA

JOSE RAMON DIAZ BENITEZ 22 November 2021 (has links)
[en] Sound and silence, as constituent elements of cinema, have been crossed by diferent technological changes throughout its history. Each modification has altered its ways of realization and listening to some extent, also transforming the very structures of the film industry. Currently, due to the transition from analogue to digital technology, features such as: the considerable increase in audio tracks for simultaneous capture and editing, greater ease in handling captures sound waves, the electroacoustic development of movie theaters and private productions systems, among others, they suggest the impression of a sensory increase in recent cinematographic productions, revealing a marked notoriety in noise and, mainly, in silence and its potential dramatic effect. The objective of this research is, therefore, to analyze the different properties that silence can present as a sound effect within contemporary Brazilian and Colombian cinema. The study of this acoustic phenomenon, as an element of cinematographic language, will be based on previous research on sound and silence in audiovisual and on productions executed mainly in the 21st century, seeking to reflect on silence in cinema within the digital age.
