A Crítica do Juízo surgiu sobretudo devido a uma necessidade sistemática da filosofia de Kant, a saber, a de tornar possível uma passagem entre o mundo da natureza e o mundo da liberdade. Contudo, ela tornou-se uma obra fundamental para a estética, na qual a noção de forma é a crucial para que se compreenda tanto a criação artística como a recepção estética, pois tal noção constitui, para Kant, o fundamento de toda disposição para o gosto. Trata-se aqui de investigar a noção de forma a partir dos diferentes aspectos que ela assume ao longo da Crítica do Juízo, uma vez que aquilo que passou a ser denominado pela crítica de arte moderna e contemporânea como um formalismo de inspiração kantiana parece desconsiderar a real complexidade de tal noção. Tendo em vista mostrar que a forma, para Kant, não é meramente uma estrutura espaço temporal, mas implica a expressão de um conteúdo, a tese foi estruturada em quatro capítulos. O primeiro capítulo é dedicado à análise da relação entre forma e reflexão, relação esta que exige um exame da oposição entre forma e matéria da sensação, bem como da noção de forma da finalidade. O segundo capítulo volta-se para a especificidade da bela-arte e envolve a comparação entre o belo natural e o belo artístico, o problema da distinção entre beleza livre e beleza aderente e a teoria do gênio. O terceiro capítulo trata do problema da convivência entre forma e conteúdo na obra de arte em virtude da teoria das Idéias estéticas e da afirmação do belo como símbolo do bem.O quarto capítulo analisa a influência do pensamento de Kant na teoria de Greenberg. / The Critique of Judgment arose above all due to a systematic necessity in Kant\'s philosophy, namely to make a passage between the world of nature and the world of liberty possible. Nevertheless, it became a fundamental work for aesthetics, in which the notion of form is crucial as much to the understanding of artistic creation as to aesthetic reception, since such a notion constituted for Kant, the basis of any disposition to taste. In this paper it is sought to investigate the notion of form beginning from the different aspects which it assumes throughout the Critique of Judgment, since what has come to be termed in modern and contemporary art criticism as Kantian inspired formalism appears to ignore the true complexity of such a notion. Bearing in mind that for Kant, form is not merely a time space structure but implies the expressio n of content, the thesis was structured in four chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the analysis of the relationship between form and reflection, which demands an examination of the opposition between form and the subject matter, as well as the notion of the form of finality. The second chapter is concerned with the specificity of fine art and involves the comparison between natural and artistic beauty, the problem of the distinction between free beauty and adherent beauty and the theory of genius. The third treats the problem of the co-existence between form and content in art work in virtue of the theory of aesthetic Ideals and the affirmation of beauty as a symbol of good. The fourth chapter analyzes the influence of Kant\'s thought on Greenberg\'s theory.

Previous issue date: 2011-04-04 / CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / O objetivo do trabalho é explicitar tendências de imagem-violência no cinema brasileiro contemporâneo. O referencial teórico de base para a pesquisa é construído a partir de Bergson e Deleuze. Quanto à violência, o referencial é construído a partir de Derrida em relação à desconstrução, e, subsidiariamente, a partir da teoria da violência de Benjamin. O objeto empírico da pesquisa é delimitado em dez filmes contemporâneos que tematizam a violência e foi composto a partir do procedimento da cartografia. A organização das análises é feita em séries, seguindo princípios do procedimento realizado por Deleuze em “Lógica do Sentido”. Cada série apresenta uma tendência ou aspectos de uma tendência e pode ser lida independentemente ou em aproximação com quaisquer outras séries, sem a necessidade de um fluxo obrigatório. Dentre outras considerações, observo nas séries de análises as diferenças das violências de acordo com as variações da concepção de tempo na imagem. Observo, também, que a violência tende a estar inscrita num sistema de julgamento que lhe direciona o entendimento e a experiência. Enfim, insiro a pesquisa num contexto maior referente ao desafio do cinema brasileiro contemporâneo de construir uma violência especifica da imagem, para além da violência social que é o tema dos filmes. / The objective of this research is to elucidate the image-violence tendencies in the contemporary Brazilian cinema. The theoretical base behind this research is referred from Bergson and Deleuze. In relation to the topic violence, the referential is attributed to Derrida pertaining to “deconstruction”. The research’s empirical object is composed of ten contemporary films that include violence as a theme and were structured from the cartographic method. The organization of the study is made in series, following principals and procedures performed by Deleuze in “Logic of Sense”. Each series presents a tendency or aspects of a tendency that can be read independently or in sequence with any other series, without the need for a mandatory order. Moreover, the study observes the violence in its different states, according to the variation of the picture in a conception of time. It is also observed that violence is in general presented in a judgmental manner, directed in relation to self-acknowledgment and experience. Finally, the study is presented in context of challenging the Brazilian cinema to assemble violence specifically to the image, independently of the violence in the social context presented in the films.

Previous issue date: 2015-09-10 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / This paper aims to analyze Hannah Arendt s (1906-1975) positions on the trial of Otto Adolf Eichmann (1906-1962). This analysis will use the book Eichmann in Jerusalem, produced by the author after having personally witnessed the defendant's trial, a Nazi bureaucrat appointed as responsible for the transport system and bureaucracy that led people to deportation and to death in the Hitlerist period in Germany (1933-1945) under his government orders. After Germany's defeat in World War II, Eichmann escapes and lives in Argentina with a new identity. In 1960, the Israeli secret service captures him and takes him to trial in the District Court of Jerusalem. He was charged with fifteen crimes, including crimes against humanity, crimes against Jewish people and for being a membership of a criminal organization. Throughout his trial, he was analyzed by Hannah Arendt the renowned philosopher whom exposes a number of reflections on the case and on the subject Eichmann. In addition, Arendt discusses the legality of Eichmann s capture and the moral issues that arise throughout the trial, as well as his personal and legal responsibility in the crimes of which he was accused / Este trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar as posições de Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) sobre o julgamento de Otto Adolf Eichmann (1906-1962). Para essa análise será utilizado o livro Eichmann em Jerusalém, produzido pela autora após ter assistido pessoalmente o julgamento do réu, um burocrata nazista apontado como responsável pelo sistema de transportes e pela burocracia que conduziam pessoas para a deportação e à morte no período da ditadura hitlerista na Alemanha (1933-1945) sob as ordens de seu governo. Após a derrota da Alemanha na 2ª Guerra Mundial, Eichmann foge e passa a viver na Argentina com outra identidade. Foi capturado em 1960 pelo serviço secreto israelense e levado a julgamento na Corte Distrital de Jerusalém, onde foi acusado por quinze crimes, dentre eles: crimes contra a humanidade, crimes contra o povo judeu e pertencer a uma organização criminosa. Ao longo de seu julgamento, foi analisado por Hannah Arendt, uma filósofa e intelectual renomada, que expõe inúmeras reflexões sobre o caso e a figura do sujeito Eichmann. Dans cette thèse, l’auteur prolonge une intuition présente dans la conception arendtienne du jugement politique et selon laquelle « quand on juge, on juge en tant que membre d’une communauté ». A rebours d’une certaine image de la communauté, les réflexions d’Arendt sur le jugement invitaient non seulement à envisager du commun là où il n’y en avait a priori pas mais surtout à concevoir la notion de communauté comme un concept aspectuel et comme une pratique politique perspectiviste. Aussi, cette thèse cherche-t-elle à déployer une représentation synoptique de la notion de communauté, c’est-à-dire à faire l’expérience du concept de communauté sous différents aspects. Pour ce faire, l’auteur s’intéresse, dans une première partie, aux sens en usage de la notion de communauté dans des travaux théoriques aussi différents que ceux de John Rawls, Alasdair MacIntyre, Chantal Mouffe et Jacques Rancière. La seconde partie de ce travail vise quant à elle d’une part, à prolonger la tentative de clarification du concept de communauté et, d’autre part, à éprouver l’hypothèse selon laquelle activité et participation commune au jugement sont créatrices de communauté. Les topoï retenus, des topoï juridiques, se focalisent précisément sur ces moments où l’image de la communauté, où l’idée même d’une chose commune en partage, devient problématique. Situations de krisis, au double sens du terme c’est-à-dire de crise et de décision, situations à la frontière du droit et de la politique, situations limites au point d’intersection entre communauté et extranéité, ils sont autant d’exemples de la possibilité de conjuguer ensemble division et communalité. / In this dissertation, the author draws on Hannah Arendt’s theory of judgment in exploring what it means to judge “as a member of a community”. At odds with a certain picture of community, Arendt’s reflexions on judgment pointed not only to the problem of forming a community among people who have lost what they had in common but also to the possibility of considering the notion of community as both an aspectual concept and a perspectivist political practice. Thus, this dissertation brings to light a perspicuous representation of the notion of community. In other words, it seeks to help us experience new and different aspects of the concept of community. To access those aspects of community, we need access to ways of thinking about and using community that allow for meaningful engagement and critical reflection. In a first part, the author seeks insight about community from four thinkers from different theoretical backgrounds. In a second part, the author tries to show that alternative pictures of the concept of community exist. The criterion used to select these alternative examples is their usefulness in illuminating some aspect of community, thereby contributing to a perspicuous representation of the concept. The examples, which are all borrowed from the legal sphere, focus mainly on moments when the picture of community and the idea of something in common become puzzling. Krisis situations, borderline cases (Grenzsituation) between law and politics, between community and extraneity, they are all examples of the possibility of bringing together division and communality.

Öppenhet är en allt viktigare del av företagens årsredovisningar. I en mer och mer komplex värld har öppenheten blivit en större fråga för företagen vid upprättandet årsredovisningarna. Det ostabila förtroendet för företagen har resulterat i större press öppenhet. Därför är det inte konstigt att redovisningskvalité har blivit en viktig aspekt intressenter, problemet är att kvalité ses på olika vis.U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) har i sin senaste utgåva av International Accounting Standards (IAS) skrivit 50 sidor om redovisningskvalité. SEC anser kvalitén på redovisningen bestäms av rådande standarder samt respektive lednings ansvar att korrekt tillämpa dessa. Ett annat alternativ är användarnas perspektiv, det vill säga investerarnas, aktieägarnas och vilka krav de vill ställa på öppenheten. Det råder stor oenighet kring vilket perspektiv man ska se öppenheten ifrån.Denna studie fokuserar på öppenhet med motiveringen att kvalité är ett resultat öppenhet i redovisning. Syftet är att klargöra hur begreppet öppenhet presenteras upprättandet av företags resultaträkning. Vidare kopplas detta till redovisningskvalité med centrum på intäkterna. I studien undersöks åtta olika företags årsredovisningar. Avgränsningen innebär att studien endast undersöker fyra valda poster resultaträkningarna. Vi har utgått från ett textanalysperspektiv, där redovisning ses som ett kommunikationsmedel för företagen. Texten analyseras ur följande fyra perspektiv; intertextrelationer, användare, revisorer och tillverkare.Studien har visat att företagen inte alltid följer de krav som finns på öppenhet. Detta trots att studien fokuserar på ett av de allra viktigaste områdena i årsredovisningen. Intäkterna har en central och avgörande roll i redovisningen och därmed även vad gäller öppenheten. Företagen som undersökts i studien ligger relativt jämnt vad gäller kvalitén öppenhet avseende obligatorisk öppenhet. Tilläggsinformationen skiljer dock företagen väsentligt. Vissa poster är det vanligare att utlämna mer information kring än andra.Studien har visat att det inte är populärt att redovisa beräkningen av resultat per aktie på så vis som IAS kräver att företagen ska göra. Atlas Copco, Scania och Volvo är de företag som bäst lever upp till kraven som ställs utifrån standarderna. Det är de företag som ger ut mest tilläggsinformation i sina årsredovisningar, de ger framförallt ut information då det gäller rörelsesegment och resultaträkningen. Capabilities, recipes, & firm performance : how industry recipes influence the application of dynamic managerial capabilitiesBezjian, James Bradley January 2017 (has links)
Dynamic managerial capabilities are frequently viewed as a source of influence among decision-making managers within environments of volatility. Conversely, managers postulate that decision-making in rapidly changing environments is never perfect and faces a variety of influencing factors. In addition, industries represent a collection of firms that produce similar goods or services for a particular market. This recipe is often recognized by all industry related firms and adapted accordingly. Similarly, firms comprised as “incumbents” and “challengers” are firms that are well established in the industry and firms that seek to change the industry. Recognizing which influencers affect the managerial decision-making process is necessary to adapt and evolve a firm’s decision-making logic. This thesis presents a detailed study of the Hollywood Film Industry Recipe as it relates to the influencing factors within the green lighting process of feature films among incumbent and challenger studios. An inductive research approach is used to investigate four case studies throughout the Hollywood Film Industry. Two case studies are recognized as industry incumbents while the other two are recognized as industry challengers. The analysis identifies an industry recipe, firm adopted industry and adaptations, and dynamic managerial capabilities utilized through the influence of the process. In addition, an illustration of the industry recipes influence dynamic managerial capabilities adopted by firms. Findings suggest that dynamic managerial capabilities is an output of industry recipes adopted amongst firms, and that refinement of those capabilities is a circular renewal process between managerial judgement and firm/managerial dominant logics. In addition, industry recipes influence the way in which dynamic managerial capabilities are acquired, processed, and absorbed. This study contributes to the field of strategy as it suggests a coherent framework that illustrates how industry recipes influence incumbent and challenger studios within a given industry. Additionally, it also demonstrates how dynamic managerial capabilities are formed and structured based on the adopted industry recipe. Finally, it outlines how decisions are made by managers within incumbent and challenger firms, highlighting a circular process of decision-making with regards to the creation an distribution of an industry related product.

Perhaps the most perplexing issue in Psalm 82 is its obvious cultic and polytheistic background with its source remains elusive to scholars. Consequently, to grasp the main intention and purpose of this psalm becomes an equally baffling exercise. This thesis will take up these two pertinent issues. It attempts to take the psalm as a whole. This paper will put forward two arguments. First, the genre of 'cultic prophetic psalm' is not only the most helpful, but also the most befitting approach to grasp its holistic intent. Second, Psalm 82 is seminal in developing a new cultic motif on "righteous judgment" from the cult of the "living and dying god" of the ancient traditions. / Psalm 82---a text notorious of its brevity, yet profound complex concepts is the subject of this thesis. Since the last two extensive works which were published in the late 1960s by James. S. Ackerman and Hans-Winfried Jungling, there are several other pieces which develop from these two contributions but concentrate only on some aspects of the psalm, and not a comprehensive study of it. It is therefore more appropriate and necessary than ever, that at the beginning of the 21st century when the academia on the ancient Near East has flourished in leaps and bounds, a re-examination of the scholarship on Psalm 82 will be fruitful venture. / Therefore, I shall present my thesis as follows: In chapter one, I shall review the past research results on Psalm 82. This sets up a starting point for the thesis and raises the main issues for discussion. It is proposed that Psalm 82 is a cultic prophetic psalm, which is performed in the temple expressing the Israelite belief of a just God. It is proposed that Psalm 82 is a cultic prophetic psalm with performance in the temple and expresses the Israelite belief in a Just God. In chapter two, I shall analyze and present the contents and the structure of the whole cultic drama. It will attempt to prove that the core content of this psalm is 'Belief in the Just God' and that this content is both inherited and developed from the motif of the "living and dying god" in the ancient traditions. Hence, a new cultic motif is formed that the just God of Israel judges the unjust gods and pronounces a death sentence. In chapter three, the whole psalm is submitted under the framework of a cultic drama, and I will attempt to analyze the words and the complex concepts in the psalm. These include "the council of gods", the relationship between "God" and the "gods", the righteous God of Israel judging the unjust gods, the meaning of "the poor", "orphans", "widows" and "the wicked", the usage of the image and meaning of both "the foundations of the earth" and "the shaking of the foundations of the earth", the function of "the nations" and "inheritance", and the significance of the death of the gods. Finally in chapter four, after comparing the concepts and usage of words mentioned above with the myths and stories of the ancient Canaanites. I shall further verify that Psalm 82 mainly absorbs and uses the mythical and religious elements of ancient Canaan. The psalm expresses the firm belief in the just God Yahweh, albeit in a polytheistic setting. By using the idea of "the council of gods" in the ancient Near East, especially in Canaan, the psalm integrates many mythical elements and ideas of the ancient religious traditions, and finally develops a new cultic motif on "righteous judgment" from the cult of the "living and dying god" of the ancient traditions. / 徐雪梅. / Adviser: Archie C. A presente tese aborda o tema da banalidade do mal e a vida do espírito em Hannah Arendt. Segue-se o fio condutor da reflexão da autora sobre o mal, cujo contexto político são os acontecimentos extremos do século XX. Com a expressão tempos sombrios evidencia-se o conceito de mal radical presente em Origens do Totalitarismo. Mostra-se que o mal radical, um conceito kantiano, para Hannah Arendt traduz o fato da redução de seres humanos a seres supérfluos que podem ser eliminados. Examina-se o conceito de banalidade do mal, suscitado por Arendt na obra Eichmann em Jerusalém. Apresenta-se, a partir do acusado Eichmann, o significado de banalidade do mal, com suas implicações para a ética. Seguem-se as reflexões de Arendt sobre o pensar, o querer e o julgar, faculdades da vida do espírito, para identificar os seus elementos definidores. O cuidado com o mundo trata especificamente do julgar e aponta que, para Arendt, o juízo de gosto kantiano fundamenta o juízo político que só pode ser exercido em comunidade. Por fim, considera-se que Eichmann é a metáfora do homem de massa contemporâneo e que Arendt, ao refletir sobre a banalidade do mal e colocá-lo como uma questão para a vida do espírito, nos convoca à responsabilidade para com o mundo que identificamos como uma ética do cuidado com o mundo / The present thesis treats the theme of the banality of evil and the life of the mind in Hannah Arendt. It follows the guiding principle of the authors reflection over evil, whose political context are the extreme events of the 20th century. The expression dark times shows the concept of radical evil present in the Origins of Totalitarianism. It is shown that the radical evil, a kantian concept, to Hannah Arendt translates the fact of reducing human beings to superfluous beings that can be eliminated. It examines the concept of the banality of evil, raised by Arendt in her Eichmann in Jerusalem. It presents, from the accused Eichmann, the meaning of the banality of evil, with its implications for ethics. It follows the reflections of Arendt on thinking, willing and judging, faculties of the life of the mind, to identify their defining elements. The care for the world leads specifically with the judging and points out that, for Arendt, the Kantian judgment of taste grounds the political judgment that can only be exercised in the community. Finally, it considers that Eichmann is the metaphor of the contemporary mass man and Arendt, reflecting on the banality of evil and putting it as a question for the life of the mind, summons us to responsibility for the world, that we have identified as an ethic of care for the world
