The Use of Buckwheat Border Habitats to Attract Natural Enemies of Cucumber Beetles in a Cucurbit Agroecosystem

The potential control of cucumber beetles, Acalymma vittatum (Fab.) and Diabrotica undecimpunctata howardi (Barber)(both Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) two major pests of cucurbits, was assessed in a cucurbit agroecosystem by using buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) border habitat to attract the natural enemies, Celatoria diabroticae (Shimer) and Celatoria setosa (Coquillett) (both Diptera: Tachinidae) and Chauliognathus pennsylvanicus (Deg.) (Coleoptera: Cantharidae). Five different plants were seeded in the border and buckwheat dominated. Four natural enemy groups were also included as indicators of the attractiveness of the floral border: The Order Diptera; the Families Tachinidae and Syrphidae of Diptera; and the Order Hymenoptera. In 1995-1996, rows of squash, Cucurbita pepo (L.) var. melopepo (Alef.) ‘Seneca Prolific’, and cucumbers, Cucumis sativa (L.) ‘Arkansas Littleleaf’, were planted perpendicular to floral border habitats. Sticky traps and modified Malaise traps on transects at intervals from the border were used to monitor insect numbers. Insect counts and yields of cucurbits were analyzed using analysis of variance with contrasts for linear and quadratic effects and regression model fitting. Borders were strongly attractive to Diptera and moderately attractive to C. pennsylvanicus, Syrphidae, Tachinidae, and Hymenoptera. C. setosa and C. diabroticae counts were too low to analyze and borders habitats did not have any meaningful effect on yields. The border conserved populations of Diptera, leatherwings, Hymenoptera, and tachinids on some dates and may be useful with economic thresholds for pest management because of an observed gradient of insect movement. / Master of Science

The collections were made in the municipalities of Bodoquena, Bonito, Jardim and Porto Murtinho, covering the two parts (North and South) of PNSB, within a discontinuous period of 35 days of collecting, between february/2007 to december/2008. Seven expeditions were undertaken in the field, seven days each, in areas with predominance of deciduous and semideciduous seasonal forest. The data collection techniques employed in faunal inventory were active collection with entomological net, Malaise traps, yellow pads and mini-Winkler extractors. Three-hundred fifty one specimens Aculeata group, represented by 105 species in 57 genera, distributed in the following families: Vespidae, Pompilidae, Mutillidae; Tiphiidae; Scoliidae. The total number of individuals of the Hymenoptera Parasitica series in Bodoquena Mountain Range was 1243, following the percentage: Ichneumonoidea: Ichneumonidae (16%); Braconidae (9%); Platygastroidea: Scelionidae (18%), Platygastridae (1%); Proctotrupoidea: Diapriidae (11%), Chrysidoidea: Bethylidae (14%), Dryinidae (2%), Chrysididae (1%); Ceraphronoidea:Ceraphronidae (4%), Megaspilidae (1%); Evanioidea: Evaniidae (2%); Trigonalioidea: Trigonalidae (1%); and the superfamilies Chalcidoidea (19%) and Cynipoidea (1%). It was not possible to identify the families yet, for these two superfamilies, and all families of Parasitica were not possible to identify at the genera level. Some groups were sampled by one of the techniques employed, showing that the use of various techniques is essential to surveying wasps. The results of this study contribute to the knowledge of the richness of the wasps fauna and their geographical distribution and provide subsidies for insects fauna conservation in these forests / Este trabalho tem como objetivo inventariar a fauna de vespas predadoras e parasíticas nas diferentes formações florestais do Parque Nacional da Serra da Bodoquena (PNSB). As coletas foram realizadas nos municípios de Bodoquena, Bonito, Jardim e Porto Murtinho, cobrindo as duas porções (Norte e Sul) do PNSB, em um período descontínuo de 35 dias de amostragens, entre fevereiro/2007 a dezembro/2008. Foram realizadas sete expedições de campo, de sete dias cada, em áreas com predomínio de Floresta Estacional Decidual e Semidecidual. As técnicas de coleta empregadas no inventário faunístico foram: coleta ativa com rede entomológica, armadilhas de Malaise, bandejas amarelas e extratores de mini-Winkler. Profil de l'activité physique chez les patients atteints du syndrome post-Covid-19 : une étude portant sur le malaise post-effort

Objectif : La Covid-19 a conduit à de nombreuses complications. Parmi celles-ci, on compte le syndrome post-Covid-19, qui inclut fréquemment le malaise post-effort (MPE), observé dans environ 90% des cas. Après une analyse du profil sociodémographique des personnes atteintes de MPE, le présent mémoire a visé à comprendre ce phénomène en évaluant les différentes variables du MPE en fonction du niveau d'activité physique (AP) des personnes touchées. Méthodes : La collecte des données a été faite à l'aide d'un questionnaire mis en ligne sur Lime Survey et distribué via Facebook. Le questionnaire visait à évaluer le niveau d'AP (loisirs, travail et transport) avant et après l'infection par la Covid-19. La population ciblée pour cette étude était constituée de personnes ayant présenté le syndrome post-Covid-19, soit le MPE. Résultats : Globalement, les résultats indiquent que les individus avec MPE (n=154) sont moins actifs et plus sédentaires après avoir contracté la Covid-19 qu’avant. Toutefois, les analyses d’interactions ont permis de faire ressortir des éléments importants. Les personnes atteintes de MPE ont vu un maintien ou une diminution significative de l'AP au travail et totale (intensité moyenne et élevée) après avoir contracté la Covid-19. De façon plus spécifique, ce sont particulièrement les femmes et les personnes dont la dernière infection remonte à plus d'un an qui ont été touchées par cette baisse. Alors que des déplacements à pieds ont diminué chez les femmes, ils ont augmentés chez les hommes. Par ailleurs, les déplacements à vélo ont diminués après la Covid-19 et ce, plus particulièrement pour les hommes, indiquant un potentiel déplacements du vélo vers la marche pour le transport. Répondre positivement aux 5 questions sur le MPE était aussi associé à une plus grande réduction de l’AP d’intensité moyenne ainsi que moyenne et élevée au travail mais à une augmentation moins marquée de la sédentarité. Avoir une récupération plus lente était associée à une réduction plus importante de l’AP d’intensité moyenne à élevée au travail. Et alors que les individus non effrayés par la peur de faire un malaise post-effort augmentaient leur niveau d’AP (intensité moyenne et moyenne/élevée) au travail, ceux effrayés le réduisait à la suite de la Covid. Finalement, ni l’âge, ni le nombre de contaminations qu’ils ont subi et ni le lieu de naissance des répondants avec le MPE n’ont pas eu d’effet sur les changements du mode de vie. Conclusions : Cette étude révèle que les personnes atteintes du syndrome post-Covid-19 à risque de MPE sont non seulement plus sédentaires mais qu’elles rapportent une baisse de l'AP qui touche surtout le travail et ce, de façon plus prononcée chez les personnes gravement atteintes de MPE et chez les femmes. Ces résultats sont importants à considérer dans un contexte de la reprise d'AP au travail post-Covid-19 de ces patients qui peuvent avoir des niveaux de déconditionnement physique plus importants. / Objective: Covid-19 has led to numerous complications. Among these, we count the post-Covid-19 syndrome, which frequently includes post-exertional malaise (PEM), i.e., in about 90% of cases. After analyzing the sociodemographic profile of people with PEM, the current thesis aims to understand this phenomenon by evaluating the different variables of PEM according to the level of physical activity (PA). Methods: We collected data using an online questionnaire hosted on Lime Survey and distributed via Facebook. The questionnaire aimed to assess the level of PA (leisure, work, and transport) before and after Covid-19 infection. The target population for this study consisted of individuals who exhibited post-Covid-19 syndrome, also known as PEM. Results: Overall, the results indicate that individuals with PEM (n=154) are less active and more sedentary after contracting Covid-19 than before. However, interaction analyses have brought out some important elements. People suffering from MPE experienced either a maintenance or a significant decrease in PA at work and overall (medium and high intensity) after contracting Covid-19. More specifically, it was particularly women and people whose last infection was more than a year ago who were affected by this decrease. While walking decreased among women, it increased among men. Moreover, cycling decreased after Covid-19, especially among men, indicating a potential shift from cycling to walking for transportation. Responding positively to the 5 PEM questions was also associated with a greater reduction in medium-intensity PA and medium to high-intensity work, but with a less pronounced increase in sedentary behavior. Having a slower recovery was associated with a greater reduction in medium to high intensity PA at work. And while individuals not scared of PEM increased their level of PA (medium intensity and medium/high) at work, those scared reduced it following Covid. Finally, neither age, nor the number of infections they suffered, nor the birthplace of respondents with ME/CFS had an effect on lifestyle changes. Conclusions: This study reveals that individuals with post-Covid-19 syndrome at risk of PEM are not only more sedentary, but they also report a decrease in PA, primarily impacting work, and this is especially pronounced in those severely affected by PEM and in women. These findings are important to consider in the context of resuming PA at work post-Covid-19 for these patients who may have higher levels of physical deconditioning.

O discurso do capitalista e a cultura do mal-estar / The discourse of the capitalista and the culture of malaise

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A presente dissertação de mestrado pretende abordar as vicissitudes do discurso do capitalista sobre o sujeito. Para tanto, toma como ponto de partida a afirmação de Lacan, em suas palestras em Saint-Anne sobre O saber do psicanalista, de que o que caracteriza o discurso do capitalista é a foraclusão da castração. A partir dessa colocação representada no matema do discurso do capitalista pelo desaparecimento da disjunção entre produto e verdade, bem como pela ausência de um vetor entre agente e Outro, o que demonstra que esse discurso não promove laço social , percorre-se algumas questões que reverberam sobre o sujeito, dentre as quais se destaca: se o sujeito não existe fora do laço social, que sorte de efeitos a ele resulta por freqüentar um discurso que se apresenta como dominante na contemporaneidade em que a castração está foracluída e, portanto, também o liame social? Tendo em vista que a Verwerfung é o que opera no discurso do capitalista, lança-se a hipótese de que a esquizofrenização no nível do discurso resulte na propagação do que Helene Deutsch convencionou chamar de como se. Esse fenômeno surgiria como uma suplência imaginária a que recorreria o sujeito como estabilização face aos efeitos decorrentes da foraclusão da castração no discurso do capitalista. Trata-se de um discurso psicotizante que, ao contrário dos quatro discursos apresentados por Lacan no seminário O avesso da psicanálise, não promove laço social. Se discurso é o que faz laço social e Freud, em 1930, anunciara que a principal fonte de sofrimento de que padece o homem é a relação com os demais, o mal-estar na civilização é o mal-estar dos laços sociais. Logo, os quatro discursos participam do mal-estar na civilização. Ao contrário destes, o discurso do capitalista, na tentativa de eliminar o mal-estar, foraclui o laço social. Por promover o gozo ao invés da renúncia à pulsão, o discurso do capitalista acaba por instigá-la. E, como toda pulsão é pulsão de morte, não é outra coisa senão o empuxo mortífero ao gozo que o discurso do capitalismo produz. A potência que o discurso do capitalista adquiriu na contemporaneidade é analisada a partir de sua íntima relação com o discurso da ciência. A partir de algumas colocações de Hannah Arendt acerca da banalidade do mal presente em um sistema totalitário como o nazista, cogita-se a hipótese de que a aliança entre os discursos do capitalista e da ciência resulte no surgimento de uma nova forma de totalitarismo: o totalitarismo de consumo. / This dissertation aims to address the vicissitudes of the discourse of the capitalist on the subject. For this purpose, it takes as a starting point Lacan statement in his lectures at Saint-Anne on The psychoanalysts knowledge, that what characterizes the discourse of the capitalist is the foreclosure of castration. From this statement - represented in the matheme of the discourse of the capitalist by the disappearance of the disjunction between product and truth, and by the absence of a vector between the agent and the Other, which shows that this discourse does not promote social bond - it traverses some issues that reverberate on the subject, among which stands out: if the subject does not exist apart from the social bond, what sort of effects does he suffer by following a discourse - which appears to be dominant in contemporary society - in which castration is foreclosed and, therefore, also the social bond? Since the Verwerfung is what functions in the discourse of the capitalist, there is the hypothesis that schizophrenizing at the level of the discourse could spread what Helene Deutsch conventionally called as if (als ob). This phenomenon emerges as an imaginary supplementation used by the subject to reach stabilization in view of the effects of castration foreclosure in the discourse of the capitalist. This is a psychosis-inducing discourse that, unlike the four discourses introduced by Lacan at the seminar Psychoanalysis Upside-Down, promotes no social bonding. If the discourse is what promotes social bond and Freud in 1930, announced that the main reason why men suffer is due to the relationship with others, the malaise in civilization is the malaise of social bonds. Thus, the four discourses participate in the malaise of civilization. Unlike these, the discourse of the capitalist, in an attempt to eliminate the malaise, forecloses the social bond. As it promotes enjoyment rather than the renunciation of drive, the discourse of the capitalist eventually instigate it. And, as every drive is a death drive, the discourse of the capitalist produces nothing but the deadly thrust to enjoyment. The power the discourse of the capitalist acquired in contemporary society is analyzed from its close relationship with the discourse of science. From some statements of Hannah Arendt on the banality of evil present in a totalitarian system, such as the Nazi, there is the hypothesis that the alliance between the discourses of the capitalist, and science results in the emergence of a new form of totalitarianism: the totalitarianism of consumption.

Cette étude s’inscrit dans le champ de la psychologie sociale du travail et des organisations. Elle s’interroge sur la santé au travail sous l’angle du bien-être versus mal-être perçu des intervenants en milieux de protection de l’enfant en difficulté au Vietnam. Nous appuyant sur l’approche systémique et active, nous considérons que chaque individu au travail est un sujet « actif », « pluriel » et « prospectif » dans son processus de professionnalisation et personnalisation. Dans une démarche exploratoire, nous cherchons à montrer que la santé au travail des intervenants en milieux de protection de l’enfant vietnamien n’est pas seulement déterminée par leurs caractéristiques socio-biographiques et leurs contextes organisationnels, mais qu’elle est aussi modulée par leurs processus de signification de travail. L’analyse des données permet de décrire la population de recherche, d’abord, en termes de caractéristiques socio-biographiques, situationnelles et organisationnelle, et aboutit à une typologie des intervenants en 3 classes. Les caractéristiques de chacune de ces 3 classes sont en relation significative surtout avec la perception de consommation des produits addictifs (thé, café, alcool, bière, tabac, médicaments,..). Les résultats montrent que le sens que les sujets accordent à leur travail ainsi que leur valorisation des domaines de vie modulent la relation entre les caractéristiques des sujets avec leurs sentiments de bien-être vs mal-être : soit médiateur, soit modérateurs dans plusieurs cas significatif. En plus d’une contribution à décrire le bien-être vs mal-être des intervenants, ces résultats permettent non seulement d’étayer de précédents acquis théoriques mais aussi de formuler des recommandations pratiques. Sur le plan théorique, ils enrichir la notion de «sujet pluriel». Au niveau pratique, ils proposent des stratégies d’amélioration des conditions de travail qui visent à faciliter l’insertion professionnelle des intervenants. / This study aims the field of social psychology of work and organizations. It gets focused on health in terms of wellbeing versus malaise at woks for interveners in the area of protection of children in difficulty in Vietnam. Based on the systematic and active approach, we consider that every individual at work is an "active", "plural" and "prospective" subject in his professionalization and personalization.In this exploratory approach, we seek to show that the health of interveners in Vietnamese childhood protection is not only determined by their socio-biographical characteristics and organizational contexts, but is also modulated by their process meaning of work. Analysis of the results for describing the research’s population, at first, in terms of socio-biographical characteristics, situational and organizational in the way of isolation; and then provide a typology of interveners identified in three classes. Characteristics of each of these 3 classes have a significant relationship with the consumption of addictive products (like tee, coffee, alcohol, beer, tabac, medications,...). The results show that the meaning that subjects give to their work and their valuation living areas modulate the relationship between the characteristics of subjects with their feelings of wellbeing vs malaise, either mediator or moderators in several significant cases. On top of a contribution describing wellbeing vs malaise of interveners, these results offer recommendations, not only theoretically but as well practical. Theoretically, they enrich the notion of “plural subject”. Practically, they lead to proposals for working condition’s improvement strategies aiming to case the integration of interveners.

O mal-estar docente: condições de trabalho e suas implicações

A presente pesquisa é um estudo das relações entre o processo de trabalho docente, e as reais condições sob as quais ele se desenvolve. O cotidiano tem mostrado que os docentes estão passando por um processo de adoecimento físico e mental no exercício da docência. Essa realidade se constitui em um desafio e uma necessidade de análise para se entender o processo saúde-doença e condições de trabalho docente. As mudanças verificadas no contexto social e econômico mundial, em particular nas últimas décadas, têm tido impacto direto na escola e produzido efeitos perversos na vida dos docentes, que se vêem pressionados pela sociedade, no sentido de cumprirem um papel que, não se encontra em sintonia com a realidade. Proceder a uma análise minuciosa da presente crise, reveladora de sua verdadeira amplitude; questionar o impasse atual e repensar caminhos mais saudáveis para a docência, são algumas das propostas desta pesquisa. Nesse sentido, para dar conta desses objetivos, apoio-me em autores como António Nóvoa, Miguel Arroyo e Christophe Dejours, para dar suporte à análise das questões abordadas na pesquisa. Pensar em qualidade de ensino remete-nos a uma análise mais complexa do campo educativo e isso implica pensar o sistema massificado, as relações de trabalho e o bem-estar docente. / The study of the relationship between the process of teaching job, the actual conditions under which it develops and the possible mental and physical illness of teachers constitute the challenge and a necessity to understand the health-disease process and teacher working conditions. Changes in the world economic and social context, particularly in recent decades, have had a direct impact on school and produced perverse effects on the lives of teachers, who see themselves pressured by society, towards fulfil the role that is not in line with reality. Requires them to provide quality teaching within a massive system based on competitiveness, often with human and material resources with low wages and precarious employment, an increase of functions, which are exacerbated contributes to a growing malaise among teachers, bolstered by the negative perspective that society will building many of these professionals, based, frequently, and in parameters, at least debatable. A espiritualidade no enfrentamento ao mal-estar docente: um estudo na Rede Municipal de Educação de Sapucaia do Sul (RS)

Buscar uma redação conceitual é um primeiro desafio para aqueles que se propõem a empreender uma análise investigativa a respeito. Poucas pesquisam buscam, como esta, compreender as possíveis aproximações da espiritualidade ao campo educacional. O presente trabalho reúne, numa pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo, através da opção metodológica qualitativa, uma investigação acerca das possibilidades de relacionar a espiritualidade no enfrentamento ao mal-estar docente. A pesquisa concentra-se no município de Sapucaia do Sul, onde doze professores são entrevistados, sendo as entrevistas transcritas, agrupadas e analisadas em quatro diferentes categorias. Consideramos que para as escolas terem sucesso no seu propósito de serem um espaço de ensino e aprendizagem, dentre outras, é fundamental a presença de professores qualificados e motivados para tal. Entretanto, em virtude de diversos fatores, muitos profissionais da educação, especialmente no Brasil, são acometidos pelo que os especialistas denominam de mal-estar docente. Sentem-se sufocados pela elevada carga horária, pouca valorização e exigências do trabalho. O cultivo de hábitos de espiritualidade pode agregar alento à vida pessoal e profissional dos professores para enfrentar os percalços do dia a dia, potencializando suas atitudes positivas, acarretando em qualidade de vida e desempenho profissional. / Spirituality is a theme that has been increasingly researched in the last years. The quest for a conceptual redaction is a first challenge for those who propose to undertake an investigative analysis of the issue. Few research projects have sought, like this one, to understand the possible approximations of spirituality with the educational field. The present work gathers together in a bibliographical and field research through a qualitative methodological option an investigation about the possibilities of relating spirituality to confronting the professor malaise. The research is concentrated in the municipality of Sapucaia do Sul, where twelve professors are interviewed, being that the interviews are transcribed, grouped and analyzed in four different categories. We consider that, for schools to be successful in their purpose of being a teaching and learning space, it is fundamental, that, among other items, there be qualified and motivated professors for such. However, many professionals in education, especially in Brazil, are afflicted by what specialists call the professor malaise. They feel they are being suffocated by the elevated class load, low valorization and work demands. The cultivation of spirituality habits can propitiate relief for the personal and professional lives of the professors thus helping to confront the daily troubles, potencializing their positive attitudes, leading to enhanced quality of life and professional performance.

We investigated the links between disempowerment and school violence against a teacher in a primary education institution and identify their possible effects on teaching. The research sought to provide voice to the subject victimized by disempowerment and violence and to bring out important subjective aspects not be picked up by the immediate perception that prioritizes the material and objective questions. The methodological approach of the research was a mixed nature (quantitative and qualitative), based on the assumptions of Santos Filho and Gamboa (2009) and Creswel (2010). The research is delineated as exploratory, with case study format and was held in a state public high school in the city of Rio Branco (AC). Data collection was done in two stages: preliminary (documental) and main (semistructured interview and questionnaire enclosed). The subjects were 35 teachers and 106 students. Quantitative data were processed with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and qualitative data were interpreted by the method of content analysis proposed by Bardin (2011) and Franco (2012). Among the theoretical framework that served as the basis for analyzes and interpretations performed, it highlights Arendt (2013), Adorno (2011), Adorno and Horkheimer (1985 and 1973), Michaud (2001), Delumeau (2007), Freud (1930 / 2010 1921/2011) and Esteve (1999). To indicate that these authors, the crisis of tradition and authority has cost dearly to the teacher because his office keeps a strong connection to the past, from which it takes the basics and essential knowledge to their practice. The teachers, even the most qualified, complain about facing serious problems in school today due to the weakening of their authority, as the violence of the students, the consequences of which have been fraying and the professional frustration. Many end up sick or even quitting the profession because they can not do their work and are not rewarded as they would wish. / Este estudo abordou detalhes de um tema tornado urgente nos últimos tempos, qual seja, a violência escolar em suas relações com a perda da autoridade da escola. Teve por objetivo investigar as ligações existentes entre desautorização e violência escolar contra o professor em uma instituição de educação básica e identificar seus possíveis efeitos no trabalho docente. A pesquisa procurou dar voz aos sujeitos vitimados pela desautorização e pela violência e trazer à tona aspectos subjetivos importantes não captados pela percepção imediata que prioriza as questões materiais e objetivas. A abordagem metodológica da pesquisa foi de caráter misto (quantitativa e qualitativa), com base nos pressupostos de Santos Filho e Gamboa (2009) e Creswel (2010). A pesquisa delineou-se como exploratória, com formato de estudo de caso e foi realizada em uma escola pública estadual de ensino médio da cidade de Rio Branco (AC). A coleta de dados foi feita em duas etapas: preliminar (levantamento documental) e principal (entrevista semiestruturada e questionário fechado). Os sujeitos foram 35 professores e 106 alunos. Os dados quantitativos foram processados com o auxílio do programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) e os dados qualitativos foram interpretados pelo método da Análise de Conteúdo proposto por Bardin (2011) e Franco (2012). Entre os referenciais teóricos que serviram de base às análises e interpretações realizadas, destacam-se Arendt (2013), Adorno (2011), Adorno e Horkheimer (1985 e 1973), Michaud (2001), Delumeau (2007), Freud (1930/2010, 1921/2011) e Esteve (1999). Ao que indicam esses autores, a crise da tradição e da autoridade tem custado muito caro ao professor, pois seu ofício guarda forte ligação com o passado, de onde tira os fundamentos e saberes essenciais a sua prática. Os professores, mesmo os mais qualificados, se queixam de enfrentar hoje sérios problemas na escola por conta do enfraquecimento de sua autoridade, como a violência dos alunos, cujas consequências têm sido o desgaste e a frustração profissional. Muitos acabam adoecendo ou mesmo desistindo da profissão por não conseguirem exercer seu trabalho e não serem recompensados como desejariam.

O discurso do capitalista e a cultura do mal-estar / The discourse of the capitalista and the culture of malaise

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / A presente dissertação de mestrado pretende abordar as vicissitudes do discurso do capitalista sobre o sujeito. Para tanto, toma como ponto de partida a afirmação de Lacan, em suas palestras em Saint-Anne sobre O saber do psicanalista, de que o que caracteriza o discurso do capitalista é a foraclusão da castração. A partir dessa colocação representada no matema do discurso do capitalista pelo desaparecimento da disjunção entre produto e verdade, bem como pela ausência de um vetor entre agente e Outro, o que demonstra que esse discurso não promove laço social , percorre-se algumas questões que reverberam sobre o sujeito, dentre as quais se destaca: se o sujeito não existe fora do laço social, que sorte de efeitos a ele resulta por freqüentar um discurso que se apresenta como dominante na contemporaneidade em que a castração está foracluída e, portanto, também o liame social? Tendo em vista que a Verwerfung é o que opera no discurso do capitalista, lança-se a hipótese de que a esquizofrenização no nível do discurso resulte na propagação do que Helene Deutsch convencionou chamar de como se. Esse fenômeno surgiria como uma suplência imaginária a que recorreria o sujeito como estabilização face aos efeitos decorrentes da foraclusão da castração no discurso do capitalista. Trata-se de um discurso psicotizante que, ao contrário dos quatro discursos apresentados por Lacan no seminário O avesso da psicanálise, não promove laço social. Se discurso é o que faz laço social e Freud, em 1930, anunciara que a principal fonte de sofrimento de que padece o homem é a relação com os demais, o mal-estar na civilização é o mal-estar dos laços sociais. Logo, os quatro discursos participam do mal-estar na civilização. Ao contrário destes, o discurso do capitalista, na tentativa de eliminar o mal-estar, foraclui o laço social. Por promover o gozo ao invés da renúncia à pulsão, o discurso do capitalista acaba por instigá-la. E, como toda pulsão é pulsão de morte, não é outra coisa senão o empuxo mortífero ao gozo que o discurso do capitalismo produz. A potência que o discurso do capitalista adquiriu na contemporaneidade é analisada a partir de sua íntima relação com o discurso da ciência. A partir de algumas colocações de Hannah Arendt acerca da banalidade do mal presente em um sistema totalitário como o nazista, cogita-se a hipótese de que a aliança entre os discursos do capitalista e da ciência resulte no surgimento de uma nova forma de totalitarismo: o totalitarismo de consumo. / This dissertation aims to address the vicissitudes of the discourse of the capitalist on the subject. For this purpose, it takes as a starting point Lacan statement in his lectures at Saint-Anne on The psychoanalysts knowledge, that what characterizes the discourse of the capitalist is the foreclosure of castration. From this statement - represented in the matheme of the discourse of the capitalist by the disappearance of the disjunction between product and truth, and by the absence of a vector between the agent and the Other, which shows that this discourse does not promote social bond - it traverses some issues that reverberate on the subject, among which stands out: if the subject does not exist apart from the social bond, what sort of effects does he suffer by following a discourse - which appears to be dominant in contemporary society - in which castration is foreclosed and, therefore, also the social bond? Since the Verwerfung is what functions in the discourse of the capitalist, there is the hypothesis that schizophrenizing at the level of the discourse could spread what Helene Deutsch conventionally called as if (als ob). This phenomenon emerges as an imaginary supplementation used by the subject to reach stabilization in view of the effects of castration foreclosure in the discourse of the capitalist. This is a psychosis-inducing discourse that, unlike the four discourses introduced by Lacan at the seminar Psychoanalysis Upside-Down, promotes no social bonding. If the discourse is what promotes social bond and Freud in 1930, announced that the main reason why men suffer is due to the relationship with others, the malaise in civilization is the malaise of social bonds. Thus, the four discourses participate in the malaise of civilization. Unlike these, the discourse of the capitalist, in an attempt to eliminate the malaise, forecloses the social bond. As it promotes enjoyment rather than the renunciation of drive, the discourse of the capitalist eventually instigate it. And, as every drive is a death drive, the discourse of the capitalist produces nothing but the deadly thrust to enjoyment. The power the discourse of the capitalist acquired in contemporary society is analyzed from its close relationship with the discourse of science. From some statements of Hannah Arendt on the banality of evil present in a totalitarian system, such as the Nazi, there is the hypothesis that the alliance between the discourses of the capitalist, and science results in the emergence of a new form of totalitarianism: the totalitarianism of consumption.
