[en] OPENING TO THE MYSTERY OF GOD AND SAVING REVELATION IN W. PANNENBERG: IN JESUS CHRIST THE HUMAN HISTORY RISES TO THE DIVINE / [pt] ABERTURA AO MISTÉRIO DE DEUS E REVELAÇÃO SALVÍFICA EM W. PANNENBERG: EM JESUS CRISTO A HISTÓRIA HUMANA SE ELEVA AO DIVINOROMILDO HENRIQUES PINAS 03 September 2018 (has links)
[en] The present study aims at reflecting the problem of the relationship between human beings and God in Wolfhart Pannenberg s thought. Two issues of great importance in Pannenberg s work were taken into consideration: anthropology and history. The first presents the anthropological foundations of the religious dimension. For that matter, it is important to understand the concept of person, subject and freedom in Pannenberg. For him the opening theme features an anthropology that does not close itself before the immanent pure, but it is placed against the infinite mystery of God. The human being transcends its finitude and opens himself to infinity. The notion of image and likeness of God provides a foundation for a theological reading of anthropology. The second part works with the theme of revelation as history in the Jewish-Christian context. According to the German theologian, the revelation is given indirectly through historic events. In this sense the first part agrees with the second because one can only talk about history if we consider man as the performer. It is in human history that God reveals himself as the creator, liberator and savior of humanity. The apex of revelation is in Jesus Christ, for there it reaches its end. Jesus is already in a prolepsis of what will happen to every human being. His resurrection anticipates the future hope reserved for each person. In accordance with what was said, eschatology becomes very important for the Lutheran theologian. That is where the final outcome of human history will happen – what he calls the end of history. Jesus Christ is the unifying center of the future, when there will be a perfect harmony of past, present, and future in the eternal present of God. The ultimate realization of the person will be eternal participation in the love of God, the Trinity. Love that the Father has already expressed since the beginning of creation.

Theology flows from the word of God. Its task, therefore, is to explicate what characterises that word. In Christ, God speaks in person to mankind, which is why we need to establish which philosophy of the human word is capable of serving theological reflection. Christ’s words and actions are relative to His divine I Am ; his words and actions are carried by a new, divine judgement and intention. This brings us to some fundamental questions : faith and intelligence ; history and metaphysics ; theology and the mystical. These pairs are inseparable in Christianity. A theological wisdom must be both appealing and rigorous as regards the truth ; what is it that allows it to be just that ? A philosophy which, thanks to love, explicates the final cause. Finally, we look at the unity and the organisation of theology : Christ himself determines the order of theology in the organic development of its different areas.

Révélation et lumière naturelle chez Spinoza / Revelation and natural light in the work of SpinozaLesauvage, Nicole 08 December 2015 (has links)
Ethic purports to lead us, as if by the band, towards beatitude and salvation. It shows us the way which allows us, by associating as much as possible our affects to real ideas, to attain true knowledge and the love of God. Whom does “Ethics” address ? Our hypothesis is that it addresses the same readers as the “Theologico-Political Treatise” does, who would philosophize more f eely would they not be prevented from it by the thought that reason should serve theology. After having shown that scripture should be interpreted before being claimed God's word, that prophetic certainty was just moral certainty, Spinoza offers the mathematical certainty of understanding, as the true word of God which speaks directly to our soul ; God who becomes known not as a transcendental God but as an immanent God, efficient cause of all things and thus of our ideas, distinct and clear, which shall allow us to discover a God which acts feely out of necessity of nature, in outright opposition to the scholastic and Cartesian doctrines. This rational revelation nonetheless does not cancel the prophetic revelation, which truth isn't in speculation, but in moral teachings, and especially by in Christ's message of love, model of true life. But if the ultimate goal of each of the revelations is to enjoy the love of God, what is in each of them the nature of this love?

This search explores the limits of art to life situations, through the rediscovery of view on certain photographic images and the erasure phenomenon, being contrary to the over-exposure that characterizes the photo from its origins. The plastic proposal explores the aesthetic dimensions of banal situations and characteristics such as forgetfulness, erasing and hiding surprising the observer eye with artistic object where it does not expect to find them, expanding the field of the laboratory and bringing the questioning of photo procedures for the daily life. The objects are small packages with inside photos with salts of silver still in process of oxidation, resulting an unstable image that suffers deletion when exposed to light. Thus, each time the photo comes from packaging, there is a progressive loss of sharpness. The packages are hidden - intentionally forgotten - in books from public access libraries, which can be found by people who don’t expect them: accidental observers. The choice of books is based on their content, that has relation with the themes explored in this search. The erasure of the image and its method of presentation questioning the place of the photographic image and proposes an extension of the laboratory experience to other contexts of receipt.

Muhammad : prophet of GodBarthis, Samuel Darryl 30 June 2003 (has links)
This dissertation seeks to capture Muhammad's emergence as Prophet. It starts from the premise that he located himself as a Prophet within a fraternity of prophethood. More specifically he has seen his work as a continuation of the Biblical prophetic tradition. However he has stressed his election as correcting what has been altered in this Biblical tradition. Muhammad: A prophet of God argues that he has as prophet the same defining elements as Biblical prophets; as result we must not criticise him unnecessarily, that is, for the sake of fitting him into our categories. Muhammad must be seen terms of his experiences. In addition we must capture his contribution to humanity. / Religious Studies and Arabic / M.A. (Religious Studies)

Previous issue date: 2012-03-14 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This research intends to demonstrate the mystery on Paul Tillich s Systematic
Theology. It certifies that the mystery is the manifestation of the sacred for the
human being knowledge. Nevertheless, this research concludes that the human
being unites to the divine from the knowledge of the revelation of the mystery.
Tillich says that the existential knowledge is based on an encounter in which a
new meaning is created and recognized. The revelation of the mystery is an existential
knowledge and its manifestation in the human bearer of revelation
comes to know another person, he knows his history and participates in the reality
in which the mystery is revealed in its totality. The mystery is the manifestation
of the sacred, for that its revelation causes profound changes in the human
being. In Tillich s Systematic Theology the mystery is described as a mark of
revelation, its first mark. However as we approach to the text we see that the
mystery is more than a mark to Tillich, the mystery is the manifestation of the
ground of being, the mystery is the manifestation of the divine that communicates
symbolically to the human being from the final revelation of Jesus as the
Christ.
O mistério é a manifestação do sagrado,

The Shining Face of Moses: The Interpretation of Exodus 34:29-35 and Its Use in the Old and New TestamentsPhilpot, Joshua 31 December 2013 (has links)
This dissertation constitutes a fresh interpretation of Exodus 34:29-35 and analyzes how the passage is used in both the Old and New Testaments. Chapter 1 is a historical overview of how this passage has been interpreted through the centuries. Chapter 2 provides an exegetical discussion of Exodus 32-34, which makes up the context of the passage in question. Chapter 3 argues that the primarily exegetical problem within this passage, the identification of the meaning of the verbal form of "qrn," is resolved by the recognition that it means "to shine" or "emanate light/rays" as opposed to "had horns" or other interpretations. The function of the entire phrase--"the skin of his face shone"--is fourfold: as a reminder or extension of Yhwh's presence at Sinai, to distinguish Moses in terms of status, to communicate Yhwh's "goodness," and to transition from the rebellion narrative in chapters 32-34 to the building of the tabernacle in 35-40. Knowing the function of the phrase sheds light on the concomitant matter of Moses' veil ("masweh"), which is more akin to a scarf than to a mask, and which functions simply to hide Moses' face when he is uninvolved with his role as mediator because his face was frightening and disturbing to the Israelites. The exegetical study in chapter 3 culminates in an explanation of the theology of Exodus 34:29-35, focusing on God's presence, glory, grace/compassion, and life/light. This thesis is developed in chapter 4, which shows that how certain OT passages highlight the image of a shining face as a theological metaphor for grace and compassion. Many later biblical texts (e.g., Num 6:24-27, portions of the Psalter and the book of Daniel) also echo this language in prayers and songs. In addition, idiomatic expressions about the "face" or the brightness of the face are found in some extrabiblical sources and ANE inscriptions, which confirm and validate the interpretation in chapter 3. Three further texts are examined with relation to the role of Sinai theophanies (1 Kgs 19), the "veiling" of God's presence in the future (Hab 3:1-4), and images of God's eschatological glory (Isa 60:1-5, 19-20). Chapter 5 applies the OT study to the NT, where special attention is given to three passages: the narrative of the transfiguration of Jesus in Matthew 17:1-8, Paul's statements in 2 Corinthians 3:7-18 about the old and new covenants, and the prologue to John's Gospel in John 1:1-18. Chapter 6 summarizes the study and concludes the work.

Child and juvenile sexual abuse has been for ages a complex phenomenon that trespasses the boundaries of our comprehension, occurring indiscriminately in our society regardless economic status, culture, race and gender. By definition, it can be considered any kind of behavior or sexual manipulation between adults and children / adolescents with the aim of stimulating and sexually using the latter, to obtain sexual satisfaction, without the use of violence or physical strength on the part of the perpetrator. The lack of scientific research covering the subject of child and juvenile sexual abuse within the family environment, focusing at the revelation, as well as the professional experience acquired for the past years working in the criminal and civil areas, child and juvenile areas, among many other facts, justify this research. The aim of this study was to highlight a chain of procedures and the normative rulings (police investigation and/or court suits) adopted from the moment of the revelation of the fact itself until the finalization of the process of making the perpetrator responsible for his acts, aiming to identify what aspects ( overvaluations, subjectivities, blanks, omissions , either intentional or not) must have been decisive to the outcome of the cases. The research was conducted in a city of approximately thirty five thousand inhabitants, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, covering cases that happened in the period between the years of 1992 and 2003, using as source police investigation files and law suits filed at the Justice Hall. Due to the proposed objectives of the study, the quali-quantitative method was chosen to allow the necessary flexibility to study accurately the collected data from... A pré-história e reencontro com o tempo em Sem tecto, entre ruínas de Augusto Abelaira / Pre-history and reunion with time in Sem tecto, entre ruínas from Augusto AbelairaLais Martins da Costa Ribeiro 28 May 2013 (has links)
In the first instance this study begans with the analysis of the possible consequences aroused by a material apprehension of time as well as its impact on relations between the protagonist and the world in which he lives, wich are presented by the feelings of boredom and paralysis. For the proposed work were taken up concepts of discontinuance and homogeneity created by the philosopher Henri Bergson, as well as the notion of detachment and desire demonstrated by the sociology of Zigmunt Bauman. The next target contemplated in the research is the presence of memory and recollection indicated under the point of view of continuous time, also examined by the philosophy of Bergson, in addition to the thought of Gilles Deleuze. Based on this investigative path is possible to consider the condition of the protagonist as a confront with itself, an experience of time that brings up a revelation upon the condition of being too late
