Transcendance et immanence chez Karl Rahner : échanges avec la philosophie de Gilles DeleuzeRichard, Luc 06 1900 (has links)
La question qui traverse toute l’œuvre de Karl Rahner continue de se poser : comment rendre crédible et croyable la révélation de Dieu en Jésus aux gens d’aujourd’hui? Cette question doit être pensée sans cesse à nouveau dans la réalité concrète de la vie humaine. Au temps de Rahner, on mettait l’accent sur la transcendance de Dieu. Depuis ce temps, la culture occidentale s’est transformée : au début du 21e siècle, elle présente de façon marquée les traits du matérialisme, du consumérisme, de l’individualisme, du relativisme et du sécularisme. Conséquemment, on a aujourd’hui tendance à évacuer la transcendance divine. Notre recherche consiste en l’effectuation d’échanges entre la théologie de Karl Rahner et la philosophie de Gilles Deleuze, dans le but d’établir des conditions de possibilités d’un croire chrétiennement aujourd’hui. La philosophie de Deleuze nous introduit dans un processus créatif avec lequel nous pouvons penser radicalement Dieu comme à la fois transcendant et immanent. Notre démarche construit huit hybrides conceptuels qui aident à penser Rahner autrement et à ouvrir la possibilité d’un croire chrétiennement aujourd’hui. Notre recherche ouvre également la perspective d’une théologie de la rencontre entre des mondes théologiques, philosophiques, artistiques et scientifiques. Enfin, elle aide à éclairer la réalité de la nouvelle évangélisation en Occident chrétien. / The question which moves throughout Karl Rahner’s work continues to lay down a principle: how can one make believable and convincing the revelation of God in Jesus to the people of today? This question must be considered again unceasingly in a practical reality of human life. In Rahner’s time, emphasis was placed into the transcendence of God. Since then, occidental culture was transformed: in the beginning of the 21st century, is showed a very obvious tendency of materialism, consumerism, individualism, relativism and secularism. Consequently, there is a tendency to evacuate the divine transcendence. Our research consists in exchanges between Karl Rahner’s theology and Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy, with the purpose of establishing possible conditions of Christian belief today. Deleuze’s philosophy introduces us into a creative process through which we can think radically of God as being at the same time transcendent and immanent. Our approach is developed with eight conceptual hybrids which help understand Rahners’s theology in another perspective and leads to the possibility of a Christian belief for today. Our research opens as well onto the perspective of theology meeting between the theological, philosophical, artistic and scientific worlds. Finally, it helps to enlighten the reality of the new evangelization in Christian Occident.

The work also tries to answer the question if the Bible expresses the exclusivity by itself and in which area the exclusivity is the most significant for the life of believers. The aim of this work is also to look for spiritual principles that could be common with other religions as well as the principles that lead to disconnection between these religions. In the end, the work is concerning the possible ways of inter religion discussion in the context of world religion systems.

Pieter Bruegel the Elder's Apocalyptic FortitudeBurris, Suzanne Lynn 12 1900 (has links)
This thesis examines Pieter Bruegel the Elder's Fortitude, 1560, a print from the Seven Virtues series. Fortitude stands out as an anomaly within the cycle because it contains several allusions to the Book of Revelation. The linkage of Fortitude to the writings of St. John is important because it challenges previous iconographic and iconological analyses of the composition. Analysis of Fortitude's compositional elements is provided, along with an examination of the virtue tradition. Additionally, an exploration of sixteenth-century apocalypticism is included, as well as an examination of the artistic influences that may have inspired Bruegel. This thesis concludes that Fortitude's apocalyptic allusions do not seem unusual for an artist familiar with St. John's prophecies, influenced by Hieronymus Bosch, and living in an age of apocalypticism.

Apocalypse is one of the major motifs of Jewish-Christian civilization. The Book of Daniel represents a vital status in understanding the Jewish apocalypse. After summarizing the scholarship on The Book of Daniel and Jewish Apocalypse, I adopt a "intertextual hypothesis" approach to connect the Book of Daniel, Jewish Apocalypse and modern films in order to expand the horizons of discussion and interpretation. / In the thesis I will introduce the current biblical scholarship on Bible and Film, and by using "intertextual hypothesis", I will interpret from different aspects the apocalyptic thoughts in the film entitled <the Second Renaissance>. theologian, faces the challenges of relativism and nihilism. The works of Rosenzweig are
the object of this research, especially his most important book, The Star of Redemption,
along with the text named The New Thinking, whose aim was to serve as a preface to the
main book and to clarify its meaning and content. Our hypothesis is that Rosenzweig´s
philosophy makes itself able to face those challenges only when it assumes some
categories from the traditional Jewish thinking when he makes his return to Judaism, and
combines it with the existential and pragmatic sort of philosophy that he elaborates. He
calls his own way of producing his philosophy as his Jewish method . This method
presupposes a kind of thinking completely immersed in contingency and temporality,
acknowledging the insufficiency and lack of ontological autonomy to man and also to the
world and an existential attitude of walking alongside God. It also implies that one
assimilates the language of Jewish tradition which will function as the means of expression
of his philosophy. So, we will research Rosenzweig´s two main texts along with some
supporting texts, among them some articles as well as some letters, where we can find
some clarification about elements that he used to build his system of philosophy which
make him able to face relativism and nihilism, and also to come up with his own form of
rationality and existential attitudes. The use of traditional Jewish categories of thinking
along with elements of existential and pragmatic philosophy will allow him to change the
concept of nothing into a creative category and a point of departure to his own thinking.
The nothing will never be a halt or an end point. Those characteristics will bestow the
singularity and power of Rosenzweig´s work / Esta tese estuda o enfrentamento ao relativismo e ao niilismo empreendido pelo
filósofo e teólogo judeu alemão Franz Rosenzweig. Para isso, nosso objeto de estudo é a
obra de Rosenzweig, particularmente seu livro mais importante, A Estrela da Redenção,
juntamente com o texto O Novo Pensamento, escrito posteriormente pelo filósofo para
servir como prefácio ao seu livro principal, visando esclarecer seu conteúdo e sua
estrutura. Nossa hipótese é de que o pensamento de Rosenzweig se torna apto a enfrentar
aqueles desafios na medida em que assimila categorias do pensamento judaico tradicional,
que o autor assume a partir de seu retorno ao judaísmo, e as concilia com a filosofia de
cunho existencial e pragmático que ele elabora. A forma de produzir este seu sistema de
filosofia, que o pensador chama de novo pensamento, é definida por ele mesmo como o seu
método judaico. Este método implica adotar um pensamento mergulhado na contingência e
na temporalidade, assumindo a insuficiência e não-autonomia ontológica tanto do homem
quanto do mundo. Também significa uma atitude existencial que assume que se caminha

o meio de expressão de seu pensamento. Assim, investigaremos os dois textos principais
de Rosenzweig com o auxílio de outros textos importantes, produzidos na forma de artigos
e de cartas, nos quais se pode encontrar os elementos constituintes de seu pensamento e
que revelam os seus recursos racionais e existenciais para enfrentar o relativismo e o
niilismo e para propor sua própria perspectiva para a racionalidade assim como para a
existência. A assimilação de categorias judaicas bem como de elementos da filosofia

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / O presente trabalho consiste em um estudo crítico do romance Sem tecto, entre ruínas, de Augusto Abelaira. Inicialmente é feita a análise sobre as possíveis consequências de uma apreensão descontínua e material do tempo, seus efeitos nas relações entre o protagonista e seu mundo, que se apresentam sob a forma de tédio e paralisia. Para a crítica proposta foram retomados conceitos descontinuidade e homogeneidade apresentados pelo filósofo Henri Bergson, além da noção de desligamento e desejo demonstrados pela sociologia de Zigmunt Bauman. O próximo alvo contemplado na pesquisa é a presença da memória e da lembrança indicados sob o ponto de vista contínuo do tempo, também analisados à luz da filosofia de Bergson, além do pensamento de Gilles Deleuze. A partir desse caminho investigativo é possível pensar a condição do protagonista como um confronto de si, uma experiência do tempo que traz uma revelação mediante a condição de ser tarde demais / This work provides a critical analysis on the novel Sem tecto, entre ruínas by Augusto Abelaira. In the first instance this study begans with the analysis of the possible consequences aroused by a material apprehension of time as well as its impact on relations between the protagonist and the world in which he lives, wich are presented by the feelings of boredom and paralysis. For the proposed work were taken up concepts of discontinuance and homogeneity created by the philosopher Henri Bergson, as well as the notion of detachment and desire demonstrated by the sociology of Zigmunt Bauman. The next target contemplated in the research is the presence of memory and recollection indicated under the point of view of continuous time, also examined by the philosophy of Bergson, in addition to the thought of Gilles Deleuze. Based on this investigative path is possible to consider the condition of the protagonist as a confront with itself, an experience of time that brings up a revelation upon the condition of being too late

A presente pesquisa procura um deslocamento dos limites da arte para situações da vida, através da redescoberta do olhar sobre determinadas imagens fotográficas e o fenômeno do apagamento, contrariando assim o excesso de exposição que caracteriza a fotografia desde suas origens. A proposta plástica explora as dimensões estéticas de situações banais e características como o esquecimento, o apagamento e o esconderijo, surpreendendo o olhar do observador com objetos onde este não espera encontrá-los, expandindo o campo do laboratório e trazendo o questionamento dos processos da fotografia para o cotidiano. Os objetos constituem-se de pequenas embalagens contendo em seu interior fotografias com sais de prata ainda em processo de oxidação, resultando numa imagem instável que, ao ser exposta à luz, sofre um apagamento. Dessa forma, cada vez que a fotografia é retirada da embalagem, há uma perda progressiva da informação visual. As embalagens são escondidas – intencionalmente esquecidas - em livros de bibliotecas de acesso público, onde podem ser encontradas por pessoas desavisadas: observadores acidentais. A escolha dos livros baseia-se no conteúdo dos mesmos, que possuem relação com os temas explorados neste trabalho. O apagamento da imagem e seu modo de circulação questionam o lugar da imagem fotográfica e propõe uma extensão da experiência do laboratório para outros contextos de recepção. / This search explores the limits of art to life situations, through the rediscovery of view on certain photographic images and the erasure phenomenon, being contrary to the over-exposure that characterizes the photo from its origins. The plastic proposal explores the aesthetic dimensions of banal situations and characteristics such as forgetfulness, erasing and hiding surprising the observer eye with artistic object where it does not expect to find them, expanding the field of the laboratory and bringing the questioning of photo procedures for the daily life. The objects are small packages with inside photos with salts of silver still in process of oxidation, resulting an unstable image that suffers deletion when exposed to light. Thus, each time the photo comes from packaging, there is a progressive loss of sharpness. The packages are hidden - intentionally forgotten - in books from public access libraries, which can be found by people who don’t expect them: accidental observers. The choice of books is based on their content, that has relation with the themes explored in this search. The erasure of the image and its method of presentation questioning the place of the photographic image and proposes an extension of the laboratory experience to other contexts of receipt.
