[en] HIERARCHIES OF POWER OF INSTITUTIONS IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION / [pt] HIERARQUIAS DE PODER DE INSTITUIÇÕES NA ÁREA DA EDUCAÇÃOANA LUISA ANTUNES 23 January 2020 (has links)
[en] In this research we deal with the dynamics of the scientific field through the accumulation of capital and the construction of positions of institutional prestige from the Research Productivity Grantees of the CNPq. Within the SOCED (Research Group on Educational Sociology) research, coordinated by the researcher Zaia Brandão, on the CNPq productivity fellows, I chose to understand the centrality of some institutions in the research in Education, analyzing if there are institutions with the power of Command the game in the scientific field of Education. What are the institutions that are hierarchically represented with power in the scientific field in Education from the granting of productivity grants? From the agents (researchers) we draw a configuration of the institutions prevalent in these trajectories to know the relative weight of the university institutions in the fight for hegemony in the field of Education. The object of the research is the institutions in the composition of the academic-academic hierarchies from the institutional trajectories and academic practices the of researchers registered in the Lattes Curriculum of the productivity grants program of categories 1 (A, B, C, D) and Senior. We worked on the research with data of all the PQ-1 (A, B, C and D) with 170 that added to the PQ-Sr (11) composed the sample of 181 researchers. The analysis of the variables of our database of PQ-1 and PQ-Sr allowed us to characterize, by the institution of each agent, the hierarchy from the: institution and region of the researchers work institution; PhD degree institution; relationship between the training institution (PhD degree) and the work institution; relationship between types of publications and positions in the field; the relationship between institutional power and the most attractive journals for researchers and; know the institutions responsible for the best evaluated journals, with Qualis A1 and A2. The analyzes showed the existence of a policy that reproduces the hierarchy of productivity grants and end up favoring institutions that already have conditions to do scientific work. Institutions at the top of the hierarchy reveal the power of command of the game in the scientific field through the definition and maintenance of the rules and they have own well-established journals that contribute to defining the scientific standard of the area. Such institutions have power for a greater grant dynamics for their researchers and greater funding for the research maked by their institutions.

[en] While many comics were and still are produced, either on an industrial scale, or without great pretension to perpetuate, they coexist today with other types of initiative. In opposition to the current arrangements that involve what is usually called literary, comics, in their own way, have been reinvented by their increased displacement to book format, especially on longer narratives aiming adult audience. This dissertation takes as an object of discussion two graphic novels: Cachalote e Campo em Branco. As a result of partnerships between writer and cartoonist, they were produced by RT Features and edited by the label Quadrinhos na Cia. from Companhia das Letras. Starting from the analysis of specificity in production as well as in creation of these works, it is sought to understand the emergence of new shadings in the relations between the verbal and the visual, so much for in the links between the literary, editorial and media. In addition, we discuss of which terminologies are more suitable to these objects and in which way they may or may not allude to long-established issues of hierarchy among cultural products. In the midst of the digital era, marked by the omnipresence of images, we also wonder about what sense it grasps within the gesture of opting for narratives, that call upon manual and authorship trace. Furthermore, we investigate the horizontal dynamics of shared creation and the authors combined effort to avoid the simply-repeated success of previous generations, either in the field of literature, or in the field of graphic genres. Finally, there is an effort in the way the authors bring to new limits the natural dialogue between these two languages.

relacão as identidades culturais. Dentro desta
organização, o foco principal recaiu sobre o projeto Dando
Bola para a Vida. Este projeto tem como finalidade o
trabalho de arte-educação, utilizando a metodologia do
Circo Social, com as crianças e jovens do complexo do
Cerro-Corá, localizado na Zona Sul do Rio de Janeiro.
Foram analisadas duas categorias principais que surgiram
da própria lógica do universo estudado: autonomia e
reciprocidade. A partir destas categorias a relação
possibilidades. / [en] The objective of this research is to understand the work
developed by the institution Se Essa Rua Fosse Minha in
relation to cultural identities. Within this organization
the main focus was based on the project Dando Bola para a
Vida. This project works with the children from the
community of Cerro-Corá, which is located in the South
part of Rio de Janeiro. It uses an art-education
perspective and applies the Social Circus method. Two
categories, which arose from the focus group itself, were
used: autonomy and reciprocity. Supported by these
categories, the dialectics between individual and one´s

As
estruturas usadas para a
fabricação dos dispositivos foram estruturas com poços
quânticos múltiplos de
InAlAs/InGaAs e AlGaAs/GaAs.
desempenho do
forma as propriedades
ópticas do material.
melhor condição de operação do dispositivo. Cabe a esta
tese aprofundar o
relevante, pois é a
verificação experimental de uma proposta teórica. / [en] In this thesis work, is made an evaluation of modulators of
amplitude based
in the electrum-absorption effect. The structures used for
the devices were
multiple quantum wells of InAlAs/InGaAs and AlGaAs/GaAs.
The structures of
InAlAs/InGaAs are used to work in the commercial band of the
telecommunications (1,55 µm). This is the reason it is
important to optimize the
parameters of performance of the device, such as the Stark
shift, chirp, contrast
reason, insertion loss, etc. Previously, a systematic study
of these structures was
made by [Pires, 1998], the gallium concentration was varied
to produce a strain in
the structure and to modify the optic properties of the
material. In the study of
[Pires, 1998] considered the Gallium concentration was
varied between 46 percent and
52 percent in which range the best condition to operate the device
can be found. This is
part of the work here presented. In this thesis this range
of values was studied in
more detail. For the structures of AlGaAs/GaAs, a
theoretical proposal of [Batty et
al, 1993] was experimentally investigated. It was suggested
a nipi structure to
use a fine delta doped in the GaAs wells, this delta
doped will improve in 87 percent
the Stark shift for a field of 40 KV/cm. The device was
simulated and
manufactured, obtaining a value of 78 percent for the same field
applied, this is a
excellent result, because this confirm the theoretical
prediction.

[en] THE EFFICIENCY OF BUSINESS SIGNS AND STRATEGIES FOR LEGITIMACY IN THE DESIGNFIELD / [pt] A EFICIÊNCIA DO SIGNO EMPRESARIAL E AS ESTRATÉGIAS DE LEGITIMAÇÃO DO CAMPO DO DESIGNMARCELO VIANNA LACERDA DE ALMEIDA 22 September 2006 (has links)
continue a representar a
produção - o campo do
design. São aqui considerados W.J.T. Mitchell, autor que
contempla aspectos do
simbólicos, a maneira
A partir desta articulação, é possível
compreender que a eficiência do
signo empresarial depende de uma legitimação, produzida
nas relações entre as
diversas instâncias desse campo autônomo do design; ao
contrário da crença
dos designers. / [en] When looking at the logo or the graphic symbol - business
sign - of any
enterprise, questions always arise. Whether the sign is
still unknown or whether it
is familiar, one will ask what this shape represents or
what led it to be chosen, so
that it could continue to represent the company to which
it refers. In both cases,
what inspires the questioning is: what makes a visual sign
efficient? Since the
brand name took on indisputable importance in the business
world, there has been
discussion of the force exerted by a company´s graphic
representation, which
makes it possible to identify the business and promote
increased sales of the
products associated with it. The purpose of this work is
to present an
interpretation of how a business sign attains this
efficiency, knowing that this does
not derive from its shape alone, but is conferred upon it
based on a symbolic field
of production - the field of design. Following in the
footsteps of W.J.T. Mitchell,
an author who has addressed aspects of an image´s
functioning and,
fundamentally, Pierre Bourdieu, who has made clear, by
means of the theory of
production in symbolic fields, the way in which a symbolic
asset - an image -
achieves recognition as legitimate, it is possible to
understand that the efficiency
of a business sign depends on legitimacy, which is
produced in the relations
between the various levels of this autonomous field of
design, contrary to the
designers belief.

[pt] MEDIÇÃO DO CAMPO DE VELOCIDADE DO LÍQUIDO NO ESCOAMENTO BIFÁSICO, INTERMITENTE, EM DUTO HORIZONTAL, UTILIZANDO VELOCIMETRIA ESTEREOSCÓPICA / [en] STEREO-PIV LIQUID VELOCITY MEASUREMENTS IN TWO-PHASE, INTERMITENT FLOW IN A HORIZONTAL PIPE16 August 2017 (has links)
[en] Gas-liquid intermittent flows can be found in many engineering applications, such as oil production lines and nuclear reactors cooling systems. The detailed knowledge of this flow pattern is necessary for the development of accurate mathematical models of this complex phenomenon. In this work, an experimental study was developed with the goal to provide data that could be used to improve the existing models for two-phase intermittent flow in horizontal pipes. The high-frequency stereoscopic particle image velocimetry (SPIV) technique was employed along with the laser induced fluorescence (LIF) technique, allowing the measurement of velocity fields in the liquid slug, downstream of the elongated bubble, and in the liquid film, upstream of the elongated bubble. The experimental arrangement allowed the measurement of the three components of the velocity vector in an intermittent two-phase water-glycerine and air flow, in a transversal sections of a 40mm internal diameter horizontal pipe. The results obtained revealed original detailed information on the evolution of the three components of the averaged velocity field associated with the passage of the elongated bubble characteristic of the intermittent flow.

[en] AMAZONIAN CULTURE AND DESIGN: THE SYMBOLIC SPACE OF THE DESIGN FIELD IN AMAZONAS / [pt] DESIGN E CULTURA AMAZÔNICA: O ESPAÇO SIMBÓLICO DO CAMPO DO DESIGN NO AMAZONAS17 May 2017 (has links)
[en] The present work aims to identify the structuring and configuration process of the Design s Field in the Amazon as well the concrete and symbolic contributions and consequences of this practice for the Amazonian Culture in a globalized context. The research focuses on: the Design s Field as a field of production of symbolic goods in modernity in which it is the main responsible for the conformation of its goods and services; how this Field view and apprehends places that are historically regarded as peripheral, as the Amazon; as well analyse the responsibility of this Field in the clash between modernity and tradition. The research assumes that the unrestrained and unreflective adoption of modernity legitimated canons and solutions result in the reproduction of its slips and arbitraries. In order to demonstrate this statement, first it is presented the
theoretical-methodological instrumental tool for the analysis of the notions of culture, society, modernity, field and the relation between Design and the production of symbolic goods. After this, those notion are employed to: i) expose the relations between the man with the Amazonian environment and the historical construction of this relation trough its forms of representation – visual culture –; ii) the meanings and social established values and their association with these productions; iii) and also it is demonstrated how the locus of meaning of the Amazonian culture was constituted in the forest and how this culture, although qualitatively dominant in the region, is overpowered by the interests of the dominant ones. To do so, images from different historical periods of Amazonia, – conquest, colonization and modernity –, were selected as a way of illustrating how these ideas and notions determined the production of these forms of representation. Thereby, it was possible to circumscribe the manner in which the economic, political and cultural elites of the Amazon produce and legitimize the intersections of different historical temporalities and how the globally dominant commercial ideology – globalization – locally interferes with the production and circulation of symbolic goods. Then, the question of the configuration of symbolic goods is not only dictated by a formal deliberation, it is not a technical question related only with the advance of the techniques of representation but rather by ideas that are legitimated by the dominant classes, by the relation of man with the
environment keeping in mind the determination of favoured and deprecated relations, and by the amount of resources available to carry out this activity. Complementarily, from the other fields of production of symbolic goods and their productions, such as architecture, art, graphite and literature, it is shown how the locus of meaning moves to the city in the last decades of the twentieth century and also the modification, continuity and disappearance of several of these notions, such as the Amazon as the world s childhood, the univocal potential of the progress for man emancipation, the encyclopaedic impulse, the notion that seeing is knowing, natural determinism, among others. Finally, as a way of understanding and increase the market of symbolic goods produced by the Design Field in Amazonas as an alternative to the globally dominant commercial ideology it is presented another perspective to evaluate and understand its production. This alternative especially explores the particularities of the indigenous culture that were hybridized in the Amazonian culture, their way of relationship with the environment, their perspectivism, their understanding of a cosmological policy, and the potential impacts of these notions on the Design Field.

[pt] ESTRUTURA E FUNCIONAMENTO DO CAMPO DE PRODUÇÃO DE OBJETOS DO VESTUÁRIO NO BRASIL / [en] STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONING OF CLOTHING OBJECTS PRODUCTION FIELD IN BRAZIL19 October 2021 (has links)
[en] A fashion designer, like any other designer, need to have knowledge about the various factors that can affect the object configuration, need to have knowledge about the users and producers demands, the form, the creative processes, the materials and manufacturing processes, the production costs, etc. However, despite the clothing object being, apparently, very similar to the project of any object belonging to the design field, creation , development and production of clothing objects linked to the notion of fashion in Brazil only became be thought and considered as an activity belonging to the design field in the late 1990s and early twenty-first century. Nevertheless, this incorporation presented, and still presents, conflicts and reactions of both, clothing object producers regarding concepts and values related to the design field, as well as institutions and agents traditionally belonging to the design field in relation to the notions and values associated with fashion phenomenon and with the garment objects production. Thus, if we consider that the development of clothing objects and of objects traditionally belonging to the design field has a very similar structure, we can say that, objectively, there is not, and probably never existed, itself a division between the clothing objects design field and the design field. However, in Brazil, there was a notion that the clothing object linked to the notion of fashion is something not belonging to the design field and, from the late 1990s and early twenty-first century, began to change, indicating changes in the structure and functioning of the clothing objects production field. Therefore, this PhD research analyzes, using as the theoretical work of Pierre Bourdieu, the constitution, structure and functioning of this field in Brazil, analyzing how the positions and relationships between producers, receivers and legitimation, reproduction and
consecration institutions of the field work and interfere with specific field notions and values, with the practices associated with this field agents and, consequently, the clothing objects production in Brazil and the delineation and definition of the clothing design field, named currently as a fashion designer.

[en] STREAMLINE TRACING FOR OIL NATURAL RESERVOIRS BASED ON ADAPTIVE NUMERICAL METHODS / [pt] TRAÇADO DE LINHAS DE FLUXO EM MODELOS DE RESERVATÓRIOS NATURAIS DE PETRÓLEO BASEADO EM MÉTODOS NUMÉRICOS ADAPTATIVOSERICSSON DE SOUZA LEAL 27 October 2015 (has links)
[en] Traditionally, streamlines in discrete models of natural oil reservoirs
are traced by solving an ordinary differential equation in a cell-by-cell way,
using analytical or numerical solutions, considering the local velocity of each
cell. This strategy has a disadvantage: the streamline is traced considering
a discrete, and so discontinuous, vector field. Furthermore, for massive
models, to solve the equation in a cell-by-cell way may be inefficient. In
this work, we explore a different strategy: the streamline tracing considers
a continuous vector field represented by the discrete model. Therefore, we
propose: (i) to use a spatial structure to speed up the point location process
inside the reservoir model; (ii) to use spherical interpolation to obtain the
velocity field from the discrete model; (iii) to use an adaptive numerical
method to control the numerical error from the integration process. The
results obtained for actual reservoir models demonstrate that the proposed
method fulfills the precision requirements, keeping a good performance.

[en] This dissertation aims at studying the religious prints generally known in Brazil as santinhos. Based on the traditional graphic configuration, to what one would consider today as a rooted structure to a popular and mass culture, one wishes to reflect, so to, eventually, revaluate the convictions upon the methodological and projective processes which compose the practical exercise in this activity which is known as graphic design. This research aims at presenting the way that different social structures work on the imaginary or symbolic dimension, as to exalt concretely, through its material productions, social representations that translate values and meanings. One comprehends that distinct social realities may take on different perceptions and understandings about things in the world, as to the probation of properties (material or symbolic), such as the value judment laid to it by a determined social group, may vary just the same. Thus, one discusses during this study that the meaning of a graphic artifact would not be defined by its objective qualities neither by its formal criteria, inner to the object itself, whereas, above all, by its external conditions that permeate its productions. By this way, this study focuses on an array of conditions which one must take into account before interpreting certain image as good or bad, showing that even a religious print may reveal previously unknown dimensions to someone that may not be familiar with its cultural and visual codes.
