[pt] QUESTIONÁRIO PARA RASTREIO DOS SINAIS PRECOCES DO TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA (QR-TEA): EVIDÊNCIAS DE VALIDADE BASEADAS NA ESTRUTURA INTERNA E NA RELAÇÃO COM MEDIDAS EXTERNAS / [en] SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE FOR EARLY SIGNS OF AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (QR-TEA): VALIDITY EVIDENCE BASED ON INTERNAL STRUCTURE AND RELATIONSHIP WITH EXTERNAL MEASURES21 February 2022 (has links)
[en] Screening for early signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder is essential for referral to early intervention. Given the lack of instruments for this purpose in Brazil, the Questionnaire for Screening Early Signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder (QR-TEA) was developed. A preliminary study indicated validity evidence based on content. Understanding the validation of an instrument as a continuous and uninterrupted process, this thesis aimed to analyze validity evidence based on internal structure and evidence of validity based on relationships with external measures. The results indicate plausibility of a factorial solution of two factors (χ² / gl = 1; RMSEA = 0.00, 90% CI = 0,00-0,06; CFI = 1.03; TLI = 1.03) and also of a general factor (χ² / gl = 1.49; RMSEA = 0.06, 90% CI = 0.05-0.06; CFI = 0.95; TLI = 0.95). In the two-factor model, the reliability was adequate (above 0.70) for both factors and the measure of replicability of the factor structure suggested that the two factors could be replicable in future studies (H>0.80). The internal consistency of the instrument assessed by Cronbach s alpha was also high (0,80). The results also indicate that QR-TEA has a strong, positive and significant correlation with the instruments CARS (ρ = 0.890; p <0.001), M-CHAT (ρ = 0.890; p <0.001) and SRS- 2 (ρ = 0.874; p <0.001, and also with the SRS-2 scales: Communication and Social Interaction (ρ = 0.769; p <0.001) and Restricted and Repetitive Patterns (ρ = 0.751; p <0.001). Further studies are recommended to seek new verification evidence and analyze other psychometric properties of the QR-TEA.

No primeiro
[en] The study aimed to extend the validation of the Phone
Screening Interview (PSI-TEA), a telephone screening for
symptoms of ASD. In the first study, reliability was verified by
comparing the mean total scores of the face-to-face (4.03) and
telephone (3.95) application, with no significant difference (t(59)=
-0.52; p= .600). . The agreement analysis between the items
indicated three items with lower values, leading to the modification
of some questions. In view of this disagreement, it was verified
that the order in which the interviews were applied would not
impact the results, with strong correlations (r=.822 and r= .825). In
the second study, the discriminative power of the PSI to
differentiate between children with and without a diagnosis of
ASD was investigated, presenting a sensitivity of 0.91, specificity
0.73. The instrument proved to be reliable and can be used
remotely, by different evaluators, with no impact on its efficiency
in detecting ASD symptoms when compared to its face-to-face
form.

[en] BUILDING THE VISUAL TRACKING PARADIGM IN THE RECOG-NITION OF EMOTIONAL IN CHILDREN WITH AUTISM / [pt] CONSTRUÇÃO DE UM PARADIGMA DE RASTREIO VISUAL NO RECONHECIMENTO DE EMOÇÕES EM CRIANÇAS AUTISTASKELLY LUANA MAMEDE N ZANGRANDO 13 September 2018 (has links)
[en] Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impairments in social interaction, communication and behavior. One of the deficits presented in its scope is the emotions recognition, pointing to a number of atypical visualization strategies, such as: reduced look at social stimuli; preference for the mouth instead of the eyes region, and difficulties in fixing attention. However, there is no consensus so far on the factors that can lead to such damages, as well as whether there is a characteristic pattern of visuospatial screening for that population. Based on these data, this dissertation developed a visual tracking paradigm in the recognition of emotions in children of the Autistic Spectrum (EA). Therefore, a system-atic review was necessary, which, based on a careful selection, verified 65 paradigms investigated in the evaluation of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and that used the Eye-tracker as instrument. From then on, a script was developed for later tasks programming. The screening paradigm was then applied in four children diagnosed with ASD, who composed the experimental group, and in three with typical development, to control, to evaluate its applicability. Although there are limitations in the task, that must undergo adaptations, it was possible to verify that the participants of the experimental group had a longer duration of the task, due to it s difficulty in fixing the look, as well as they had the performance impaired in the emotions recognition. These data, along with other studies, suggest that individuals on the autistic spectrum use atypical visual strategies. However more research is needed on the subject.

[pt] QUESTIONÁRIO PARA RASTREAMENTO DE SINAIS PRECOCES DO TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA (QR-TEA): CONSTRUÇÃO E EVIDÊNCIAS DE VALIDADE DE CONTEÚDO / [en] SCREENING QUESTIONNAIRE FOR EARLY SIGNS OF AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (QRTEA): CONSTRUCTION AND CONTENT VALIDITY EVIDENCE16 March 2021 (has links)
[en] The early detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is very
important. However, there is a lack of ASD early signs screening instruments in
Brazil. The objective of this work is to report the developing procedures and seek
for initial evidence of validity of the Questionário para Rastreamento de Sinais
Precoces do Transtorno do Espectro Autista (QR-TEA). The QR-TEA is an
instrument for use in the general population and for self-fulfillment of the parents
of children between 24-36 months of age. The questionnaire items were
developed based on the behaviorial categories established in the construct
operational definition, literature review and other instruments that evaluate ASD.
The scale of responses is of the dichotomous type (presence or absence of
symptoms). After its development, the items were evaluated by four health
professionals with clinical experience in ASD. The Content Validity Index, the
Kappa index and the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient were used to evaluate the
agreement between the experts on the representativeness of the items. In addition,
redundancy between items was verified and the experts also suggested content
changes. It was also conducted an semantic analysys of the items with the target
audience (2 fathers and 4 moms). The results show a relationship between the
QR-TEA items content, indicating content validity evidence. Further studies
should be conducted to evaluate the psychometric properties of the instrument and
to seek new evidence of validity in both clinical and non-clinical samples.

[pt] DESENVOLVIMENTO DE UMA FERRAMENTA PARA ESTIMULAR FLEXIBILIDADE COGNITIVA EM CRIANÇAS COM TEA LEVE E VERBAIS: O JOGO DE RPG FÁBULAS E FANTASIAS / [en] DEVELOPMENT OF A TOOL TO STIMULATE COGNITIVE FLEXIBILITY IN CHILDREN WITH MILD AND VERBAL ASD: THE FABLES AND FANTASIES RPG GAMEANDREZA MORAES DA SILVA 23 November 2021 (has links)
A dinâmica deste jogo
[en] Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder mitigated by social, behavioral and communication impairments. One of the models that try to explain such symptoms is that of neuropsychology, which offers deficits in Executive Functions (EFs), highlighting the component of cognitive flexibility. The cognitive flexibility construct is broad, however it is common to be related to the ability to alternate attentional focus and thinking, and the ability to adapt to changes in the environment. Thus, linking on the basis of symptoms of repetitive and stereotyped behavior in the ASD. Cognitive flexibility also appears to be correlated with Theory of Mind (ToM) and shared attention, too, at a level associated with social functioning. Literature states that FEs can improve with training. There are several intervention models for ASD, among them neuropsychological rehabilitation has been the focus of the study. Neuropsychological rehabilitation is a powerful model to remedy and develop cognitive skills that are impaired in some childhood diagnoses such as ASD. There is a scarcity of tools that work in the field of neuropsychological rehabilitation that meet both the need to develop cognitive flexibility and ecological changes, that is, an instrument that enhances the generalization of learning to situations of daily life. However, in this area there are and a common tool used in child rehabilitation involves playful activity. To meet these needs, the objective of this work is to develop a tool for stimulating cognitive flexibility in children with mild and verbal ASD, between 9 and 12 years old. The tool developed was a Role-Playing Game (RPG). The role-playing game involves a re-enactment of a story, where participants must enact roles, considering the characteristics of their characters. Throughout the game, they are faced with challenges, which are problem situations that they must solve in a shared way. The dynamic game offers a favorable context for this flexible behavior practice and experience and meets the cognitive flexibility construct. For the development of the game, several steps were taken to reach the final model, which was tested in
a pilot group for later review and adaptation. The final model underwent an agreement assessment by expert judges who presented a 100 percent result for all items obtained. This result confirmed the hypothesis that the role-playing game, called Fables and Fantasies, estimated cognitive flexibility, fit to be used in the proposed group. The Fables and Fantasies RPG game stimulates cognitive flexibility through cognitive training, offering the opportunity and adequate support for this skill to be tried and practiced, with the integration of metacognitive and instructional. of the tool, and this objective composes the future perspectives.

[en] CARE PRACTICES FOR CHILDREN WITH ASD IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC / [pt] PRÁTICAS DE CUIDADOS DE CRIANÇAS COM TEA NO CONTEXTO DA PANDEMIA DA COVID-19LAURA SENGES CARRERAS 05 December 2022 (has links)
[en] The present dissertation aimed to understand the care processes of
parents with children on the autistic spectrum, how they were affected or changed
during the pandemic and how these parents dealt with the difficulties brought
about by social isolation. Therefore, an empirical study of qualitative design
was carried out. The study sought the participants experiences on how the
care practices of their children with ASD occurred during the pandemic,
especially during the period of social isolation. Five mothers with autistic
children aged between seven and 11 participated in the study, who
answered a sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-structured
questionnaire. The interviews with the participants were carried out using the
ZOOM platform and the material collected was transcribed, transforming it into
textual material. For the analysis, the method of Bardin (2016) was used,
in which information collected was coded and categorized. The results found
suggest that, despite the challenges encountered in coping with a pandemic,
mothers were able to carry out proximal processes with their children; the
characteristics of ASD influence the way of care of these mothers and that there
was an aggravation in the emotional suffering of these mothers during the
pandemic period. The research had some limitations due to the pandemic
situation, like the number of participants, and further studies are suggested on
the possible effects of social isolation for these families, especially in relation to
the conduct of school institutions.

[pt] HABILIDADES LINGUÍSTICAS EM CRIANÇAS PRÉ-ESCOLARES NO ESPECTRO AUTISTA: RASTREIO DE DIFICULDADES GRAMATICAIS EM TAREFAS DE COMPREENSÃO / [en] LANGUAGE ABILITIES IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM: GRAMMATICAL DIFFICULTY TESTS IN COMPREHENSION TASKSLARISSA CORREA BATISTA GUIMARAES 03 November 2022 (has links)
O instrumento desenvolvido visa a avaliar aspectos
sintáticos (sentenças simples variando quanto a transitividade e tempo/aspecto
verbal; sentenças interrogativas e relativas, sentenças coordenadas),
morfossintáticos (gênero e número gramatical) e pertinentes à interface sintaxesemântica
(pronomes reflexivos e referenciais).
interface sintaxe-semântica e no número gramatical. Crianças do grupo
intermediário apresentam maior dificuldade em sentenças complexas e sentenças
reversíveis. / [en] This study focuses on the linguistic abilities of preschool children in the autistic
spectrum. The objectives were to identify and evaluate the approaches to language
in the most frequently used therapeutic approaches for ASD in the speech therapy
practice, in a sample collected in Rio de Janeiro, and to propose an instrument to
assess ADS children s language skills, by tracking specific difficulties in
comprehension tasks. The instrument aims to evaluate syntactic structures (simple
sentences varying in transitivity and tense/aspect of the verb; interrogative
sentences; coordinate sentences; completive clauses; and relative clauses),
morphosyntactic distinctions (gender and grammatical number) and aspects
pertaining to the syntax-semantic interface (reflexive and referential pronouns), by
avoiding the cost of thematic reversibility. In addition, reversible sentences were
included to continue the evaluation of children whose performance on irreversible
sentences did not present difficulties. A pilot study was developed with 12 autistic
children. 3 groups were characterized based on their oral linguistic performance in
speech therapy sections, from the less developed (group 1) to the most developed
ones (group 3). The results are in line with the literature that distinguishes ALN
(language normal) and ALI (language impaired) ASD children. Difficulties in all
aspects investigated were identified in children with low production. However,
children from all groups revealed difficulties in the syntax-semantic interface and
in grammatical number. Children in the intermediate group had greater difficulty in
complex sentences and reversible sentences.

[en] A STUDY ON CHILDREN ON THE AUTISTIC SPECTRUM AND INCLUSION IN THE CITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO / [pt] UM ESTUDO SOBRE CRIANÇAS DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA E A INCLUSÃO NA CIDADE DO RIO DE JANEIROYASMIM DO CARMO BARBOSA DA CUNHA 10 January 2023 (has links)
[en] Studying how the development of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder occurs, in spaces that are not only the school, makes us think about how they build their social interactions and also how they can exercise their fundamental rights and freedoms as a subject with disabilities, aiming at their social inclusion and citizenship. Thus, the objective of this study was to investigate the participation of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in urban spaces, as a relevant factor for their cognitive, social and emotional development. A qualitative study was carried out that involved the analysis of the speech of 16 caregivers of a Neurorehabilitation clinic, located in Rio de Janeiro. The results revealed that interactions between parents/caregivers and autistic children, when they are mutual and collaborative, together with egalitarian parenting strategies, are favorable and capable of leading the child to think about their attitudes, therefore, they can encourage prosocial behavior. of child. The study concluded that the interaction and coexistence between parents/caregivers and the autistic child in other spaces, other than the school, proved to be important, but that there are still many obstacles and limitations imposed in relation to ASD, in terms of concerns its potentialities, resistances and prejudices. However, despite the challenges, the initiatives and dedication represent a huge step towards finding ways for these children to appropriate knowledge and possibly develop their skills.

[pt] CONHECIMENTO DO TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA PELO PROFESSOR DA EDUCAÇÃO INFANTIL E SUA AUTOEFICÁCIA DOCENTE / [en] KNOWLEDGE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION TEACHERS ABOUT AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER (ASD) AND EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES (EBP) AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO TEACHERS SELF-EFFICACY BELIEFSISABELLE BORGES BASTOS T DOS SANTOS 25 May 2023 (has links)
características do transtorno.
[en] This study sought to identify the knowledge of early childhood education
teachers about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Evidence-Based Practices
(EBP) and their relationship to teachers self-efficacy beliefs about working with
children with ASD. The research participants were 76 regular and adjunct teachers
who work in child development spaces and municipal daycare centers in Rio de
Janeiro. It is a quantitative-qualitative study in which, in addition to the participant
characterization questionnaire, we used the Likert-type Self-Efficacy Scale for
Teachers of Students with Autism (ASSET) and the questionnaire on ASD and
EBP, with open and closed questions. The instruments were made available via
online form, through the Google Forms platform, for the teachers to answer in a
single moment. The findings were analyzed in two stages: coding of the open-ended
responses of the ASSET and EBP questionnaire to generate raw scores of the
teachers scores; and statistical analyses of the raw scores of the ASSET scale and
knowledge about ASSET and EBP. They were discussed in light of the theoretical
framework presenting teachers knowledge about autism, PBE, and teachers sense
of self-efficacy. In general, the results regarding knowledge about ASD indicated
that our sample had partial and limited knowledge about the aspects involving the
definition and characteristics of the disorder. Concerning the awareness about EBP,
the results pointed to the frequent use of standard practices in the routine of the
early childhood education classroom, and although some participants cited
practices that fit into EBP and reported knowing the practices mentioned in the
closed questions, the knowledge about EBP was low in our sample. Concerning the
sense of self-efficacy and knowledge about ASD, the results indicated no
correlation between them; that is, the level of theoretical knowledge about ASD is
not related to how much the teacher feels able to deal with these students. In return,
there is a positive and weak correlation between self-efficacy and knowledge about
EBP, in which it was observed that teachers who felt more confident, with more
self-efficacy beliefs, tended to know practices with scientific evidence. Future
studies that seek to verify the existence of a correlation between what teachers
claimed to be able to do with students with ASD and what is present in their
practices may expand the findings of this research. In addition, more robust
instruments should be used to verify the sources involved in self-efficacy beliefs
and to identify how much effort and commitment teachers demand to make their
inclusive practices with these students happen. Finally, we believe that one of the
contributions of our work is to emphasize the scarcity of robust instruments to
identify teachers knowledge about ASD and EBP and to point out the importance
of thinking about in-service training programs for teachers who work in early
childhood education schools, focusing on theoretical and practical knowledge about
ASD, involving sources of self-efficacy. In addition, it highlights the urgency of
public policies that support and guide teachers regarding EBP.

[pt] HABILIDADES LINGUÍSTICAS NO QUADRO DO TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISTA: CUSTO DE PROCESSAMENTO E INTERFACE GRAMÁTICA-PRAGMÁTICA / [en] LINGUISTIC ABILITIES IN THE AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER: PROCESSING COST AND THE GRAMMAR-PRAGMATICS INTERFACEVANESSA GOUVEIA RIBEIRO 18 May 2020 (has links)
[pt] Neste estudo investigam-se as habilidades linguísticas de indivíduos
incluídos no chamado Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) e as dificuldades de
linguagem observadas nesse quadro.
Habilidades Linguísticas) desenvolvido no Laboratório Psicolinguística e
reflexivos e pronominais acusativos. / [en] This study investigates the linguistic abilities of individuals included in the
so-called Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the language difficulties observed
in this cases. The analysis of language problems in autism, with data from Brazilian
Portuguese (BP), from a perspective that articulates Linguistic Theory, in its
minimalist assumptions, with the psycholinguistic research, motivated this
research. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the linguistic abilities of BPspeakers in the autistic spectrum in order to verify the extent to which high costly
structures cause them processing difficulties and, in particular, if their language
difficulties can be related to problems in the Grammar-Pragmatics interface. A
preliminary study was conducted with a adolescents diagnosed with ASD between
16 and 21 years of age, with varied degrees of intellectual development and
communication skills and a age-matched group of ASD individual, homogeneous,
with regard to degrees of intellectual development and communication skills
Module 1 of MABILIN (Modules of Evaluation of Linguistic Abilities), developed
in the Laboratory of Psycholinguistics and Acquisition of Language (LAPAL/PUCRio). It is a battery of picture-identication tasks for the assessment of the
comprehension of highly costly structures: passives, relatives and WH/WH+N
interrogatives. The results obtained indicate below-average performance in the first
group in the most demanding sentences, such as reversible passives, object relative
and WH+N questions, though lower cost structures, such as subject relative clauses,
also presented difficulties for them. The performance of the second ASD group was
compatible with typical development. The investigation continued with 7-13 year
old autistic children with high degree of intellectual development and
communication skills and an age-matched group of typically development children
(TD). The scores of the ASD group were below those of the TD children in
MABILIN 1, though the results were not indicative of syntactic impairment. Five
experiments were conducte with these groups of children making use of pictureidentication tasks and an interactive task, in which Theory of Mind was alsoevaluated. The expreiments focused on children s knowledge/access to formal
features of functional categories at the grammar-pragmatics interace: aspect, mood,
definiteness. Ambiguity in pronominal reference and the comprehension of
reflexives and accusative pronominals were also investigated. The ASD group
showed lower scores than the TD group in all tasks taken together. These groups
differed particularly in the comprehension of mood, reflexives and accusative
pronominals.
