Naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM), which is present in the oil and gas industry, can pose a risk to the workers engaged in the activities in this field. Nevertheless, to our knowledge, there is no study on NORM presence and NORM measurement in liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel systems and installations. Therefore, the question on whether NORM, particularly radon and radon progeny, can pose a risk to the health of employees, is still open. This study provides the initial base for further investigation and real NORM measurement. In this study, all stages of radon and radon decay products movement and deposition starting from natural gas production till the final destination are analyzed and reviewed. Several techniques for NORM detection and measurement are proposed. In the case if radon levels exceed the reference level, several actions towards radon reduction are proposed.

Den här uppsatsen undersöker hur design kan synliggöra rådande maskulinitetsnormer inom gym och träning med syfte att undersöka hur gym bättre tillgodoser gymbesökares behov. Utifrån studiens resultat utvecklas ett normkreativt gymkoncept samt prototyp. Studiens litterära efterforskningar beskriver hur design använts som kritiskt och synliggörande verktyg samt hur maktförhållanden kopplade till rådande maskulinitetsnormer tar sig i uttryck. Studiens koncept och prototyp är ett möjligt förslag på hur en bredare syn på maskulinitet, gym och träning skulle kunna möjliggöra uppfyllandet av fysiska och psykiska behov genom att introducera gymkontexten för värden som inte ryms inom rådande maskulinitsnormer. / This study examines how design can be used to highlight the current norms around masculinity within gym and excercise with the purpose of exploring how gyms better meet the gym visitors needs. The result of the study is developed in to a norm-creative concept and prototype. The literary research in the study describes how design has been used as a critical and highlighting tool and how current norms around masculinity and associated power relations expresses itself. The study’s concept and prototype are a possible suggestion for how a widened understanding of masculinity, gym and exercise could facilitate the gym meeting the gym visitors physical and mental needs by introducing values in the gymcontext which isn’t included in current masculinity.

The aim of this study is to understand the risk factors contributing to juvenile delinquency for young men in Sweden. Previous research shows that juvenile delinquency is a theme that exists in all communities and affects several areas of society such as family relations, social relations, academic achievement as well as individual consequences. In this essay, the focus is on identifying risk factors putting young men at greater risk of committing crimes, but also explaining the underlying causes of why these risk factors exist by using theoretical frameworks such as empowerment and life-span theories. The central point of the essay is thus the question of how and why some young men become criminals? The methods used are a systematic literature study combined with semi structured interviews in order to understand why some young men are more vulnerable than others in committing crime. The interviews consist of statements based on professional experience from four different non-governmental organizations in Sweden working with youths. The results of the study show that the environment these young men grow up in plays a major role for both academic achievement and the development of various personality disorders which can contribute to criminal behavior. The results of the interviews also show that social structures make these young men feel powerless in relation to themselves, school and society. This type of feeling of exclusion on a social and individual level tend to increase the risk of criminal behavior and lifestyle for some young men in Sweden.

Studien tar avstamp i att forskning visar att svårigheter som tyder på autism och ADHD hos unga flickor ofta uppmärksammas tidigt av föräldrarna medan det vanligen tar lång tid innan förskola, skola och vård uppmärksammar dem. Detta leder många gånger till att flickorna inte får den hjälp de behöver, vilket resulterar i att de mår dåligt. Föräldrarnas berättelser är därför värdefulla och kan vara ett verktyg till att identifiera dessa flickor tidigare. Syftet med studien är att undersöka och analysera hur kvinnor talar om autism och ADHD utifrån sina egna eller sina döttrars erfarenheter samt om eventuellt stöd och anpassningar i förskolan och de tidiga skolåren. Ett hermeneutiskt förhållningssätt har använts i studien, vilket innebär att jag tolkat empirin och sett min förförståelse som en tillgång i dessa tolkningar. Vidare har forskningspersonernas berättelser värdesatts utifrån den narrativa teorin och i analysen har jag inte bara studerat vad som har berättats utan också hur det har berättats och vad som framställts som normalt och inte. Fyra intervjuer har genomförts varav två med mammor till flickor i dessa svårigheter och två med kvinnor som vuxit upp med dessa svårigheter. I berättelserna framkommer det inte bara empiri som rör tidiga tecken på svårigheter och empiri kring tidiga insatser, vilka jag efterfrågat. Det framkommer också uppfattningar om synen på det normala kontra det avvikande och uppfattningar kring innebörden av en diagnos och känslor kopplade till en diagnos.

I’mOther explores the concept of childfreeness, and the notion of being childfree by choice as a cis woman, through multidisciplinary practices and theories that combine methods from art and crafts, metadesign and feminist sociology. The project is situated in a Swedish context through an autoethnographic-inspired orientation that brings in situated knowledge, and in addition aims to invite and acknowledge diverse experiences and insights from creative and influential collaborations, in order to weave together a bigger picture. To uncover the elements that uphold the hegemonic fertility norm, and look into what a deviation from this norm means in an everyday context, the project seeks to move between individual and sociocultural levels through a norm critical and norm-creative design approach. Through a process of unpicking, going from norm, to language, to sentence, to word, the project has engaged in different levels of languaging with the ambition to intervene at a paradigm level and open up for conceptual spaces when thinking and talking about what adulthood can include. In a collaborative probing of spaces, which can invite conversations about childfreeness, craft have acted as a means of social interplay. Engaging with the crafshership of embroidery in combination with the comics medium, the project further elaborates through an artistic interpretation to convey narratives of childfree women. In a celebratory way, the project wants to give agency to women who experience life outside of the norm and speak to those who have the privilege to shape their own lives and to those who want to understand the choice of others.

Att vara attraktiv som arbetsgivare på arbetsmarknaden är något som med tiden har blivit allt viktigare i och med den globaliserade arbetsmarknaden. Detta attraktivitetsarbete drivs till stor del av de chefer närmast organisationens kärnverksamhet – enhetscheferna. Då dessa sitter på positioner nära verksamheterna finns det en ökad risk för upplevelsen av rollkonflikter. Att undersöka hur upplevelsen av attraktivitet i förhållande till upplevelsen av rollkonflikt i arbetet samspelar, hos dem som befinner sig i mitten av organisationen, är något som inte tidigare har forskats på. Därav denna studies vetenskapliga relevans. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur enhetschefer inom äldreomsorgen i en kommun i Västsverige upplever arbetsgivarens attraktivitet. Dessutom är syftet att undersöka hur enhetschefernas roll som både arbetstagare och arbetsgivare upplevs samspela av dem utifrån arbetet med attraktivitet. Metoden som har tillämpats för studien är kvalitativ och empirin har samlats in genom sju semistrukturerade intervjuer utifrån ett fenomenologiskt perspektiv. Resultatet av studien visar på att enhetschefernas upplevelse av kommunens attraktivitet som arbetsgivare generellt var god då det fanns en tillitsbaserad styrning inom organisationen, tydliga arbetskrav, rimlig arbetsbelastning samt påverkansmöjligheter. Dock visade resultatet att upplevelsen av kommunens attraktivitet hade påverkats negativt till följd av coronapandemin, men framförallt av införandet av insatsen Heltid som norm. Detta då de ovan fyra faktorerna, som annars upplevdes finnas inom organisationen och som var attraktivt, hade förändrats till det sämre. Vidare visade studiens resultat att enhetscheferna upplevde att samspelet mellan deras roll som både arbetstagare och arbetsgivare regelbundet upplevdes svåra att förena. Denna upplevelse av rollkonflikter hos enhetscheferna hänvisades i synnerhet till Heltid som norm då denna insats var svår för samtliga enhetschefer att företräda gentemot sina medarbetare då de själva inte ansåg sig kunna stå bakom den.

This Master's thesis is focused on dealing with cost variances (deviations) and using of standard costing method. The main intent is to analyse current state and make an improvement proposal of focusing on variables in company which is producing server PCs. This thesis is divided into three parts, which are theroretical part, analytic part and proposal part. The theoretical part is focused on characteristics of controlling, costs, calculation methods, especially standard costing method and focusing on variances. In next two parts is made the analysis of current state and then are suggested some improvement proposals.

This master's thesis is engaged in standardization of relation between costumer and supplier from perspective of purchasing products in the automotive industry. In this thesis are specified requirements at the suppliers of plastic parts. The costumer is Robert Bosch České Budějovice (RBCB). By standardization we understand selection and description of customer’s requirements at supplier.

The master thesis deals with design of storage tank for nitric acid. The first chapter introduces the problems of design, manufacture and operation of the storage tanks. The next section describes design calculation of storage tank according to standard EN 14015. Control of design calculation is performed by analysis FEM in program ANSYS Workbench 16.2. Thesis also includes basic drawing of storage tank.
