Arbetsrelaterad stress bland enhetschefer. / Work-related stress among middle managers in social services.

Persson, Julia, Sandoval, Bianca January 2019 (has links)
Middle managers is the name of the professional group who is responsible for institutions that are run by the Social Service Act and Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional impairments. They work in a politically controlled organization with the municipal social welfare committee as the outsourcer. Middle managers are identified as a profession with a high workload and a higher risk of being exposed to stress, in comparison with other occupational groups with a leading position. The aim of the study is to examine how various stressors contribute to work-related stress. The method is a quantitative survey with the aim of reaching out to more people and to get a larger overview of the middle managers work situation. The study has been carried out in a medium-sized Swedish municipality, where all middle managers in municipal elderly and disability care were selected. The result shows that the stressors that contribute most to work-related stress are the high workload in relation to working time and a lack of opportunity to fulfill the client’s wishes.

開放型XML資料庫績效評估工作量之模型 / An Open Workload Model for XML Database Benchmark

Unknown Date (has links)
XML (eXtensible Markup Language) is the emerging data format for data processing on the Internet. XML provides a rich data semantics and data independence from the presentation. Thanks to these features, XML becomes a new data exchange standard and leads new storage and query processing issues on database research communities. In this paper, the performance evaluation issues on XML databases have been studied and a generic and requirement-driven XML workload model that is applicable to any application scenario or movable on various platforms is developed. There are three sub-models in this generic workload model, the XML data model, the query model, and the control model. The XML data model formulates the generic hierarchy structure of XML documents and supports a flexible document structure of the test database. The XML query model contains a flexible classical query module selector and an open query input to define the requirement-driven test query model to challenge the XML query processing ability of the XML database. The control model defines variables that are used to set up the implementation of a benchmark. This open, flexible, and systematic workload method permits users in various application domains to predicate or profile the performance of the XML database systems.

Creating Resilience – A Matter of Control or Computation? : Resilience Engineering explored through the lenses of Cognitive Systems Engineering and Distributed Cognition in a patient safety case study

Lundqvist, Tomas January 2013 (has links)
In recent years, the research approach known as Resilience Engineering (RE) has offered a promising new way of understanding safety-critical organizations, but less in the way of empirical methods for analysis. In this master’s thesis, an extensive comparison was made between RE and two different research approaches on cognitive systems: Distributed Cognition (DC) and Cognitive Systems Engineering (CSE) with the aim of exploring whether these approaches can contribute to the analysis and understanding of resilience. In addition to a theoretical comparison, an ethnographic healthcare case study was conducted, analyzing the patient safety at a pediatric emergency department using the Three-Level Analytical Framework from DC and the Extended Control Model from CSE, then conducting an RE analysis based on the former two analyses. It was found that while the DC and CSE approaches can explain how an organization adapts to current demands, neither approach fully addresses the issue of future demands anticipation, central to the RE perspective. However, the CSE framework lends itself well as an empirical ground providing the entry points for a more thoroughgoing RE analysis, while the inclusion of physical context in a DC analysis offers valuable insights to safety-related issues that would otherwise be left out in the study of resilience.

Supervisory model predictive control of building integrated renewable and low carbon energy systems

Sadr, Faramarz January 2012 (has links)
To reduce fossil fuel consumption and carbon emission in the building sector, renewable and low carbon energy technologies are integrated in building energy systems to supply all or part of the building energy demand. In this research, an optimal supervisory controller is designed to optimize the operational cost and the CO2 emission of the integrated energy systems. For this purpose, the building energy system is defined and its boundary, components (subsystems), inputs and outputs are identified. Then a mathematical model of the components is obtained. For mathematical modelling of the energy system, a unified modelling method is used. With this method, many different building energy systems can be modelled uniformly. Two approaches are used; multi-period optimization and hybrid model predictive control. In both approaches the optimization problem is deterministic, so that at each time step the energy consumption of the building, and the available renewable energy are perfectly predicted for the prediction horizon. The controller is simulated in three different applications. In the first application the controller is used for a system consisting of a micro-combined heat and power system with an auxiliary boiler and a hot water storage tank. In this application the controller reduces the operational cost and CO2 emission by 7.31 percent and 5.19 percent respectively, with respect to the heat led operation. In the second application the controller is used to control a farm electrification system consisting of PV panels, a diesel generator and a battery bank. In this application the operational cost with respect to the common load following strategy is reduced by 3.8 percent. In the third application the controller is used to control a hybrid off-grid power system consisting of PV panels, a battery bank, an electrolyzer, a hydrogen storage tank and a fuel cell. In this application the controller maximizes the total stored energies in the battery bank and the hydrogen storage tank.

To not be enough : – Healthcare staffs’ understandings how organisational factors impact on burnout syndrome: An interpretative phenomenological analysis

Nilsson, Cassandra January 2021 (has links)
Mental health issues, among them burnout syndrome, are one of the common causes behind longer sick leave absences in Sweden. They’re especially common in sectors working closely with people, such as healthcare. This area is well explored, but what is less researched is the organisational factors that contribute to the occurrence of burnout syndrome. In an interpretative phenomenological analysis of five persons’ experience of burnout, it was found that heavy workload, deficient leadership, a lack of social support and a lack of recuperation was seen as factors that impacted on persons with  burn out syndrome. Especially lack of recuperation was pointed out as significant. It was often seen linked to new types of work schedules, particularly what is known as health schedules (schedules developed according to research about what constitutes a good shift schedule, often focusing on shortening night-workers’ shifts from ten to eight hours). Interesting areas for future research should therefore be the role of recuperation as prevention of or cause of burnout, as well studies about the implementation of these health schedules.

Web-Based Hypermedia Database Benchmark Workload Development

Lin, Yen-Fang Unknown Date (has links)
Web-based Hypermedia information systems (WHIS) enable users to share the information through a variety of media. Every Hypermedia information system has its own backend databases. The Hypermedia database is used to store a variety of data. Hypermedia databases are created more and more in the recent years. But we cannot find out which Hypermedia database provides higher performance. Benchmark gives a vital tool to measure and evaluate the performance of the Hypermedia databases. There are many benchmark workload models used to test the general databases. However, there is few benchmark workload model to test the Hypermedia databases. With this scenario, we have developed a more generalized four-component workload model for Hypermedia database benchmark. These components are the object model, the application model, the navigation model, and the control model. Each models one key aspect of the Hypermedia database workload requirements. And then, we build the prototype of this workload model to showht the Hypermedia benchmark workload model is feasible. A formal and systematic workload method is developed that can help users predict and profile the performance of the Hypermedia databases. Finally, we discuss and explain our workload model and the relationships with other object-oriented database benchmarks.

An ethnographic study of decisionmaking during handling of acute stroke patients

Ståhl, Sally January 2012 (has links)
30 000 people in Sweden get a stroke every year. This leads to large personal adaptions as well as high costs for the society. The most efficient treatment, thrombolysis, must be given as soon as possible to have a good effect. At the same time it is very important to find out if the patient has any differential diagnosis that can make the treatment hazardous. This study investigates how the course ov events around acute stroke patients take place and important factors for the decision making. The studiy is based on ethnographic field studys on four swedish hospitals. The material is analysed with methods from joint cognitive systems and goal-oriented design. The results show that in spite of different organisation of the course  of events around acute stroke patients are the processes and direct communication most successful for effective spread of information between the processes. The neurologist on call is an important roll who, as well as the rest of the participants in the course of events, balances the decision making between efficiency and thoroughness. The combination of analysis gives results on both system- and individual levels. Possibilites for improvents are given in three categories: logistic, technological and organizational.
