The research aimed at a better understanding of my experience as an actress, director, body coach and teacher, through a conceptual analysis of some aspects of this pedagogy. It s a practice based on codified exercises inspired on mime and mimism as well as on improvisations that take the nature and its intrinsic dynamics as the main theme. The notion of Fond Poétique Comum is identified as the fundamental view of this pedagogy that serves as inspiration for the imagination of the actors whilst associating its dynamics to their movement. This notion is discussed based on assumptions derived from the natural sciences, philosophy and Eastern thought, mainly from authors like Gaston Bachelard, Marcel Jousse, Henri Bergson and Fritjov Capra. Notably designed for the kind of theater in which the importance of the body practice overlaps the one of the spoken text, which it may even be dispensed, this pedagogy aims to instrument the performing arts artist in their different functions, and the actors are encouraged to develop an attitude of being the author of their work. Relationships are established with some historical aspects of the French theater of the twentieth century and the approaches to the imagination in the actor s work in Stanislavski and Chekhov, as well as questions about acting whether as performer or as an actor, present in the contemporary theater studies. The study was structured based on the organization of the practice itself, keeping the steps of presentation, stretching, warming up, improvisation and creation, taking as as corpus of analyses experiences as a student of the École International de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq, as the director of the shows O Baile dos Anastácio and O Defunto , as the actress of Gueto Bufo , as a teacher in several workshops, as well as testimonials of classmates, students and actors involved in these processes / Este estudo trata da questão da imaginação no trabalho do ator, incitado por aspectos da pedagogia de Jacques Lecoq.

The method was developed in Russia by Konstantin Stanislavsky (1863-1938) and transmitted by one of his students, Gueorgui Tovstonógov (1915-1989) to Nair Dagostini (19_ _), the first Brazilian to study at the State Institute of Theater, Film and Music Leningrad (1978-1981). The learning reverberates in the Course of Direction and Theatre Interpretation of the Federal University of Santa Maria / RS in the period of 1994-2004, during this time it was possible for her to apply some of the methods of the paradigm found in the USSR. The Educational Policy Plan which Dagostini helped to formulate was built on a common ground for actors and directors and the Active Method of Analysis held the post of unifying center of the process of education and training of the artist. The approximation of the method was given gradually over the first three semesters and was still being applied as a methodology for implementation of the transposition of the text to the scene during graduation. Active Analysis via the Method of Physical Action - that enables the acquisition and mastery of the elements of the Stanislavski System - provides the lead actor in the director route to achieving the central idea of the work that is assembled by inserting the actor on the world of the play and unfolding through the action proposed by the circumstances given the intimacy of the relationships established by the author, what's behind the words / Este trabalho trata do processo de formação artística em Direção Teatral descrito da perspectiva do Método da Análise Ativa.

Dar forma é formar-se: processos criativos da arte para a infância / Giving form is to be formed: creative art processes for childhood

Sirlene Maria Giannotti 04 April 2008 (has links)
This master dissertation seeks to understand children visual art work within the perspective of their elaboration process, which is taken as object of observation and reflection. The fieldwork took place in Clay Workshops for children, from 4 up to 10 years old. These workshops were conducted and observed by the researcher and were offered in a private school in the city of São Paulo, during the years of 2006 and 2007. This experience gave consistent elements for the elaboration of the reflection intended in this work. The treatment of the set of these creative living experiences was inspired in the ethnographic research, which has its conceptual bases in the anthropology. The data collected in the fieldwork are formed by reports and photographic images. The analysis was made taking into account the accumulated experience of the researcher as a ceramist/pottery maker and art educator, besides some theoretical references centered especially on the analytical work of Fayga Ostrower, and some contributions of José Antônio Marina, Anna Marie Holm, Cecília Almeida Salles, Jorge Larossa and Gaston Bachelard. The understanding of the creative experiences of this group of children in ceramic art allowed the author of this dissertation to see the presence of creative paths. These paths offered original elements that lead us to a deeper understanding of the important and meaningful role played by these art creative processes in the development of children. This research considers the singularity of the individualities besides the formation process of each child, enlarging, this way, the dialogue between Arts and Pedagogy.

Processos mentais subjacentes à improvisação idiomática / -

José Eduardo Tomé Paes 11 November 2014 (has links)
This paper intends to research the relationship between mental processes, musical improvisation and performance. The investigation starts from the cognitive psychology perspective in the 1980s and 1990s, considered a system of expertise, and go forward on new approaches, based on principles of neuroscience from the first decade of this century, that understood the cognitive psychology as a creative and spontaneous behavior. Through experiments with functional neuroimaging, the study reffered here in seeks the possible cerebral basis for creativity. The aim of this study is to appropriate part of the knowledge, produced by cognitive psychology and neuroscience, about the psychological and neurobiological mechanisms that generate improvisation. The research suggests, eventually, possible interfaces between cognitive psychology and neuroscience, the routines of study for an improvising musician and the pedagogical strategies of a teacher of improvisation.

Dark Side of Wonderland : en kort 2D-animation med syfte att väcka intresse för en online serietidning / Dark Side of Wonderland : a short 2D-animation as promotion for an online comic

Karlsson, Anna January 2005 (has links)
My objective for this project was to create a short but thrilling 2D-animation intended as promotion for an online comic book. The purpose of the project was to learn more about animation and graphics, to further my artistic skills and to learn how to work in Adobe After Effects. I also wanted to learn more about scheduling, project methods and how to handle stress. During the ten weeks of the project I have created the story, the storyboard, the character design, the backgrounds and the animation. The voice over was recorded with the help of a fellow student who also made the music and the sound effects. In all else I have worked on my own. During the work I have principally learned more about graphics and animation, both classic animation made on paper and digital animation. I have also gained more knowledge concerning technology as it is used in artistic processes, criticism and self criticism, personal development and learning, working alone as an opposite to working in a group, how to handle problems, setbacks and conflicts, time and planning, various ways of analyzing working processes and methods, the creative process and the balance between work and relaxation. I discuss and reflect on these and more phenomena in the end of this study. It has been a demanding but exciting journey. L'art informel en Espagne : d'une praxis à la formulation d'une expérience du monde / Informal art in Spain : from a praxis to the formulation of an experience of the world

Heredia, Martine 03 July 2009 (has links)
The world from which informal painting arises corresponds to a time, after the horrors of the Second World War, when artists became aware that art could not be performed the same way as before. In Spain it reflects the world that has not yet been healed of the sequels of the Civil War as well as the world that has wiped out any form of modern culture. If the artists would rather have the material they use be seen than be plainly identified images, informal painting, nevertheless, does not rest on the absence of representation. That is why getting us to see his perception in the making and the experience he derives from the world, the painter is trying to change the way it is seen. The first stage of this work aims at studying the example of Spain as a unique phenomenon, its artists were involved in the great European movement of thought while Spain had just broken out of its isolation. From a closer aesthetic angle, the second stage analyses the creative process and shows that what matters is to create images out of their absence. The options available to the artist will encompass matter and action; what is at stake, thus, is the analysis of the attempt by painters to emphasize the importance of material, to show how action will be a determining factor to establish, after, a specific relation from man to matter. In a third stage, reflection tries to characterize creation as both the act of making and a quest. The act of painting will therefore have to be considered as an effort meant to leave things be as they are, while, at the same time, it will enable the artist to open up the world that is his universe

The Parsifal of Jonathan Meese : ethnographic Case-Study of a Contemporary Staging Project / Der PARSIFAL von Jonathan Meese : eine ethnografische Fallstudie eines zeitgenössischen Inszenierungsprojekts

Le Calvé, Maxime 05 November 2018 (has links)
This doctoral dissertation interweaves the fields of anthropology of art and that of performance studies to examine the work of Jonathan Meese around the drama Parsifal. Through several ethnographic inquiries presented as a series of narratives and analysis, this monograph addresses the singular destiny of an artistic project that I followed in participant observation between 2014 and 2017: the conception of a staging for the opera Parsifal. This event allows the telling of the story of a paradoxical encounter between a contemporary artist, Jonathan Meese, born in 1970, and an artist of the past, Richard Wagner (1813-1883), two controversial polemicist creative figures in the Germany of their own times. The show was to take place in the 2016 edition of the Bayreuth Festival. The staging, with scenography and costumes, was designed by Meese and his team, and presented to the intendants. But the affair did not turn out as planned: they were not accepted for the Festival and the breach of contract was the occasion for a lively controversy. Yet the encounter took place, as a design process, in the performance of the artist, and brought forth another opera - the Mondparsifal - presented in Vienna and Berlin in 2017.Jonathan Meese holds an important position in the contemporary art landscape in Germany. A prolific visual artist, he has made his character the central medium of his work, by a permanent mise en abime of his position as a great artist, between romantic genius and art “brut”. He is famous for his provocative speeches - he proclaims the "dictatorship of art" and performs Hitler's salutes in an aesthetic influenced by the punk movement. Playing with the ambivalences of the Richard Wagner legacy, Meese brings into his work the figure of the Bayreuth master since the beginning of Wagner’s’ career – along with pop-culture figures and fairy-tales characters. The exploration of the stakes of his engagement by the Festival shows that the association of these two characters, by the strange resonance that it produces, has the potential to update a part of the heritage of Richard Wagner: the radical and total dimension of his controversial work. However, the ethnographic survey carried out among the Wagnerians, at the Richard-Wagner Circle of Paris and the Bayreuth Festival, shows that this heritage is the subject of a complex set of tensions that make renewal difficult. Personal concerns and long-established aesthetic musical values, discourses related to musical excellence, elitist worldliness and touristic convenience, favour a stiffening of public expectations. The first-person narrative of the staging's conception depicts the professional team struggling with the requirements of this encounter between contemporary art and musical drama. Significant divergences were observed as to how to proceed together on the "path" of creation - until the final presentation. I describe how the images of the staging emerge in the discussion space, how different media is used to let them evolve or to fix them temporarily. I show the cyclical evolution of the "versions" taken up at each session, as well as the skills of the collaborators of the artist in this effort of distributed cognition. Finally, I used ethnographic drawing to relate the rehearsals of the contemporary opera Mondparsifal. Through drawings, theoretical approaches, and ethnographic narrative this dissertation stays linked with the study of atmospheres as a central element in the account of the processes of creation. This interdisciplinary inquiry highlights the singularity of Jonathan Meese as an artist and theatre producer while engaging with larger questions about polemical creative processes.

: A qualitative study about how image-generating AI can support artist's creative process

Saleban, Zakeria Mohamed, van Weiden, Jesse January 2023 (has links)
Artificiell intelligens (AI) tar alltmer plats i människors vardag. / Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming a part of people's daily lives. One area where it has recently been used is in image generation and art creation. As AI technology for image generation is new, little research has been done on how it may affect artists. Previous digital advancements, that led to tools such as Photoshop, have expanded how artists can create art and streamlined their creative process. Image-generating AI, unlike previous tools like Photoshop, can generate its own images based on user input. This raises interest in understanding how image-generating AI may potentially impact artists' creative process. The study aims to explore how image-generating AI can support artists in the creative process. The study used a qualitative approach to delve into the subject area and answer the research question. A literature review investigating relevant topics within the subject area was conducted, resulting in three aspects, control, co-creation, and idea generation. Control was important in supporting users' utilization of AI for their purposes. Co-creation and idea generation were important pillars that support the creative process. These aspects formed the basis for the empirical study. The empirical study consisted of a seven-day diary study where artists were given the opportunity to try three different types of image-generating AI. The diary study was complemented with interviews with the study participants to gain a deeper understanding of how image-generating AI could support their creative process. The study's results show that image-generating AI can be used to support artists' creative process when used as inspiration. In addition, three prerequisites were identified that need to be met for artists to be able to use image-generating AI in their creative process.

[en] Focusing on the creative process and transmedia, this research proposes investigating the irreversible creative dynamic driven by Lewis Carroll through his two acclaimed works: the Alices. From the Victorian era to contemporary art, Wonderland and Looking-Glass continue to be reinvented through the hands of artists who, inspired by the author s universe, mix reality and fiction by integrating biography into the artwork. The cultural phenomenon becomes transmedia, not in a strategic and centralized way, but organically and chaotically, through countless visual producers dispersed in time and space. Many of these producers are designers working in related areas and different media – such as illustration, photography, art, cinema and games –, who seem to develop a creative design attitude that allows them to collaborate with the expansion of the cultural phenomenon. The proposal includes identifying convergences and divergences not only between visual languages and media but also between the ideas and thoughts of the visual producers, during their artistic and poetic work in process. By mapping examples of the multiple visuality of Alice, the intention is to outline this dynamic s characteristics, which, through repetition and deviations, allows the narrative to be continuously reframed. It is believed that, as works that are open to the initiative of the reader and the artist, the nonsense story contributes as a catalyst element for new creative processes: in the Alice dynamic, there are new relationships of authorship and co-authorship, of production, reception and mediation. By echoing mainly different interdisciplinary voices, this research aims to present a theoretical, critical and philosophical approach to postmodernity issues present in Alice.

[en] Amidst the cutting-edge challenge of reframing organizational success, it is paramount to understand the role of leadership in influencing followers capability of solving the paradox of purpose and profit dual-goal, as well as in leveraging creativity toward the common good (De Cremer & Moore, 2020; Winkler et al., 2019). By adding the ethical and moral dimensions alongside the economic goal, organizations start to place purpose into organizational strategy, considering multiple stakeholders interests (He & Ortiz, 2021; Moroz & Gamble, 2021). Therefore, against this backdrop, the present research contends that in terms of the leader s singular behaviors that may help followers navigate the sustainability paradox, leader humility emerges as a relevant attribute to set the stage for creative problem-solving to flourish and thrive. The first paper makes a concerted effort to investigate the business intellectual structure of leader humility and creativity/innovation, integrating past research findings into a synthetic framework composed of three conceptual maps that extend prior academic work (Kelemen et al., 2022). The second paper comprehends two experimental studies that address cause-and-effect concerns on humble leadership and creativity through the paradox perspective. The first study confirmed that leader humility is responsible for followers creative problem-solving via a paradox mindset, and also for creative process engagement; yielding a marginally significant effect on positive emotions. The second study, in turn, confirmed that humble leadership is responsible for promoting positive emotions and perspective-taking on followers, eliciting fewer negative emotions when compared to the control condition.
