The Spirituality of “Following Jesus” according to the Gospel of John: an investigation of "akoloutheo" and correlated motifs

Kim, Sean Seongik 04 1900 (has links)
The present thesis explores the Spirituality of following Jesus according to the Fourth Gospel by investigating the whole profile of the term akoloutheo. In particular, this thesis probes what theological implications are communicated by the association of akoloutheo with correlated motifs in the pericopes where it is employed in spiritual connotation. The texts investigated are: John 1:35-51; 8:12; 10:1-42; 12:26; 13:36-14:3; 21:1-19. Each text communicates the particular and manifold aspects of the Spirituality of following Jesus. Yet, the most distinctive aspects of the Johannine Spirituality of following Jesus imparted throughout almost all the research texts can be summarized by “directional” and “relational.” The life of following Jesus is a journey toward a destination to which Jesus leads his followers, that is, into a relationship with the Father by being with Jesus where he is, and by being with him where he goes and will be in glory. It is ultimately participating in the Son’s communion with the Father. Jesus, who was with the Father and in the bosom of the Father, came down (descended) to bring his followers to the Father, and ascends to the Father taking them with him, so they may be with him where he is with the Father in love and glory. / Christian Spirituality, Church History and Missiology / D.Th. 使用方向距離函數探討我國銀行業技術效率 —非貝氏方法考慮函數的單調與曲度性質 / Technical Efficiency of Commercial Banks in Taiwan on Directional Distance Function - A Non-Bayesian Approach Imposing Monotonicity and Curvature Conditions

Mao, Chih Ying Unknown Date (has links)
The aim of the paper is to develop a new approach, which is stochastic frontier analysis imposing monotonicity and curvature conditions, then using simultaneous regression model to estimate. By the approach, it can solve the problem of most of the coefficient estimates violating the economic theory. The study uses the data of 51 commercial banks in Taiwan from 2002 to 2015 to conduct the empirical analysis. It indicates that by output directional distance function, less than 5% sample points violate the monotonicity and curvature conditions; by output distance function, less than 2% sample points don’t obey the restricted conditions. Further, the paper discusses the effect of commercial banks’ undesirable output- non-performing loan- on estimating technical efficiency. The results show that ignoring the undesirable output cause the technical efficiency of overall banks, non-finance holding banks and foreign banks are overvalued, and the technical efficiency of finance holding banks are undervalued. Furthermore, analyze the change of business efficiency after financial crisis in 2007. It points out that using the model consider the undesirable output, the banks’ efficiency rises. However, using the model no consider the undesirable output, the banks’ efficiency decreases. There is an extremely conflict between two approach.

Tectonique moléculaire : assemblages supramoléculaires fonctionnels à base de porphyrines / Molecular tectonic : functional supramolecular assemblies based on porphyrins

Marets, Nicolas 28 September 2015 (has links)
Molecular tectonic studies the construction of periodic crystalline architectures through self-assembly of tectons. The objective of this work was to associate the principles of molecular tectonic to the possibility of functionalization of the porphyrin macrocycle to generate functional assemblies. In the first part, the surface functionalization with porphyrins was performed. The synthesis of novel meso-substituted asymmetric porphyrins with several coordinating groups such as pyridine, ethynylpyridine or ethynylterpyridine was carried. These porphyrins have allowed the formation of mono- or bi-dimensional networks on surfaces. The second part focuses on the formation of coordination networks in the crystalline state. Different porphyrins were synthesized in order to generate chiral, directional or flexible networks in the solid state. Finally, in a last part, the functionalization of porphyrins with pyrogallate groups was performed. One porphyrin and it zinc complex have shown the formation of rectangular columnar mesophases. In this part, the functionalization of the porphyrin with isomerizable groups was also performed in order to generate photo-commutable mesophases.

Analyse et validation du comportement directionnel des outils de forage couplés aux systèmes de forage dirigé / Analysis and validation of drill bits directional behavior coupled with rotary steerable systems

Ben Hamida, Malek 13 June 2013 (has links)
This work deals with the formulation of global relationships between kinematic variables describing the penetration of a PDC bit into the rock and drilling forces acting on it. This allows us determine the bit directional properties in terms of steerability, which corresponds to the bit lateral aggressiveness, and walk, which describes the bit azimuth displacement with respect to the side force. The bit kinematic quantities are divided into a three-axis penetration vector and a two-axis angular penetration vector. The bit tilt, which describes the angle between the bit revolution axis and the borehole tangent, is used to compute the effective interaction surface between the bit's different components (cutting structure, active gauge and passive gauge) and the rock. A new cutter-rock interface law is set up and experimentally validated in order to compute elementary forces acting on all parts of a drill bit. Bit directional properties are computed after the integration of these elementary forces. The bit-rock interaction model is experimentally validated with directional drilling tests held on a full-scale drilling bench developed to reproduce Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS) directional behavior. Tests and theoretical results enabled us to fully understand the roles of tilt angle, bit design, operating parameters and rock properties in the deviation process of a PDC bit. The bit-rock interaction model is a decision support tool for optimal drill bit selection according to the RSS being used. It could also be embedded in a real-time Closed-Loop Guided Directional Drilling controller in order to correct the drilling direction or follow a planned borehole trajectory.

The intersection of power, knowledge, shared perspectives, and participatory processes in organizational direction-setting: a study of a church

Wollf, Randy 05 1900 (has links)
The abuse of power, dominance of certain shared perspectives, and reduction of personal values into so-called organizational core values are problems that plague traditional organizational direction setting. The purpose of this study was to explore how power intersects with the knowledge formation process, shared perspectives, and participatory processes within organizational direction setting. The study used an ethnographic case study approach to focus on a church that went through a yearlong direction setting process. The church had lost its senior pastor and wanted to determine its direction before hiring a new pastor. The researcher was a participant in that process. His field notes and other documentation provided one source of data. The researcher also interviewed 20 people who participated in the process. In terms of the intersection of power and knowledge formation, the study revealed that the discursive practices of the facilitator along with the voices of those in privileged groups, the outspoken, and those who had engendered trust in others carried considerable weight during the process. At the intersection of power with shared perspectives, there were two major perspectives representing subgroup cultures: a traditional perspective that resisted change and a progressive perspective that wanted change. The progressives dominated the church’s privileged groups and exerted extensive influence on the direction setting process. The organizational symbols of church staff and worship music style served to galvanize some people in the battle over which perspective would prevail. Transparency functioned as a bridge that brought some on either side of the conflict closer together. The research revealed two major types of power related to the intersection of power with participatory processes: the power of pain and intimidation. Both minimized the participation of some women, youth, and traditionalists. All three intersections featured deployments of power that influenced the construction of directional knowledge. This knowledge helped to inform the rules of “appropriate” conduct within the organization’s emerging truth regime. The study revealed that, in this case, robust directional knowledge would have accommodated personal, subgroup, and widely shared values in a state of dynamic equilibrium. The researcher concluded with a discussion of implications for organizational leaders. / Education, Faculty of / Educational Studies (EDST), Department of / Graduate

Hur hittar vi fram? : En studie om hur spelare navigerar i 3d miljöer / How do we find the way? : A study on how players navigate a 3d environment

Asplund, Einar, Bergsten, Max January 2020 (has links)
Is it important that a player can navigate easily through a level? To get the answer ten participants were tested during a short play-session of a game made for the study. By looking at prior research, themes could be found that were all common. To learn the player to recognize what a goal looks like, to get the player to understand what the goal is. That the player can navigate to the goal and that the level should have flow is also important. This study shows that what earlier research suggests seems to have merit. Of all participants that played the game, almost everyone that played where navigational techniques were implemented spoke of how they felt certain in where to go.

Analýza provozu mřížové sítě Brno – střed / Analysis of the operation of the lattice network Brno - střed

Frechová, Lucie January 2017 (has links)
The thesis shows the historical development of the South Moravian electricity system and the development of Brno´s network is discussed in more detail, especially the current form of the network from the outskirts of the city to its historical centre. The lattice network, as a subject of the analysis, is described in terms of the operation and reliability of the power supply. It also informs about the gradual development of the technology applied in the lattice network Brno-střed. The practical part performs the analysis of theoretical data and recorded data with respect to steady-state and faulty-state operation of the lattice network Brno-střed. The theoretical analysis is based on the simulation and calculation of the lattice network model in the software PAS DAISY Bizon and the monitored parameter is the transformers power load. In addition, the analysis of the real data includes the assessment of the difference average phase current values, as well as voltage, between the transformer phases. There is also the evaluation of the energy flow from the low voltage side to the high voltage side of the analysed network.

Návrh autopilota a letových řídících módů v prostředí Simulink / Development of Autopilot and Flight Director Modes inside a Simulink Environment

Novák, Jiří January 2020 (has links)

Porovnání použití přístrojových transformátorů a senzorů v aplikacích s ochranou REF 542plus / Comparison of Instrument Transformer and Sensor Applications in Feeder Terminal REF 542plus

Hrycík, Tomáš January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this Master´s thesis is use of instrument transformers and sensors on field of industry protection. We will compare current and voltage transformers, current sensor – based on Rogowski coil, voltage sensor – based on voltage divider. By this measure devices, we can monitoring values of analog quantities in medium voltage switchgear. It is impossible to compare, measure and analyze without this measure devices. There is protection terminal REF542plus, which can compile this values. The REF542plus ability are measuring, monitoring, remote control and protection. First, we will discuss about theory of sensors and convential instrument transformers and analysis of analog signal. We will compare analog input channel on sensor´s analog module and transformer´s analog module. There are few differences between type of analog modules. For analog signal analysis are important frequency filters and Analog/ Digital Convertor (sigma-delta). We will describe functions and options of REF542plus. In practical part of this project, we will test protection functions of protection terminal. First, protection terminal will be connected to sensors. Second protection terminal will be connected to transformers. For testing we chose Earth-fault directional protection and differential protection. We will make only secondary tests. That´s mean, input analog quantities to REF542plus will be simulated by tester. In all we will verify quality of protection. We will focus on lower settings of protection and we will inject protection by low current. Objectives are testing of trip characteristics and measuring of trip time.
