Návrh konstrukce překládacího vozu / Design of Conveyor Semi-Trailer

Nepovím, Ondřej January 2013 (has links)
The first part of the thesis focuses on a research study of high-strength steels. The thesis also includes a conceptual design of the supporting structure of a transshipment trailer, which uses high-strength materials. This design is compatible with the Herkul trailer produced by the company NovaSteel s. r. o. and distributed by the sales network of Romill Brno, spol. s r.o. In its final part, the thesis deals with a stress analysis of the proposed design of the transshipment trailer. Stress-strength and deformation tests were carried out by means of the finite element method.

Real-time Model Predictive Control with Complexity Guarantees Applied on a Truck and Trailer System

Bourelius, Edvin January 2022 (has links)
In model predictive control an optimization problem is solved in every time step, which in real-time applications has to be solved within a limited time frame. When applied on embedded hardware in fast changing systems it is important to use efficient solvers and crucial to guarantee that the optimization problem can be solved within the time frame. In this thesis a path following controller which follows a motion plan given by a motion planner is implemented to steer a truck and trailer system. To solve the optimization problems which in this thesis are quadratic programs the three different solvers DAQP, qpOASES and OSQP are employed. The computational time of the active-set solvers DAQP, qpOASES and the operator splitting solver OSQP are compared, where the controller using DAQP was found the fastest and therefore most suited to use in this application of real-time model predictive control.  A certification framework for the active-set method is used to give complexity guarantees on the controller using DAQP. The exact worst-case number of iterations when the truck and trailer system is following a straight path is presented. Furthermore, initial experiments show that given enough computational time/power the exact iteration complexity can be determined for every possible quadratic program that can appear in the controller.

Comparison of LQR and LQR-MRAC for Linear Tractor-Trailer Model

Gasik, Kevin Richard 01 May 2019 (has links) (PDF)
The United States trucking industry is immense. Employing over three million drivers and traveling to every city in the country. Semi-Trucks travel millions of miles each week and encompass roads that civilians travel on. These vehicles should be safe and allow efficient travel for all. Autonomous vehicles have been discussed in controls for many decades. Now fleets of autonomous vehicles are beginning their integration into society. The ability to create an autonomous system requires domain and system specific knowledge. Approaches to implement a fully autonomous vehicle have been developed using different techniques in control systems such as Kalman Filters, Neural Networks, Model Predictive Control, and Adaptive Control. However some of these control techniques require superb models, immense computing power, and terabytes of storage. One way to circumvent these issues is by the use of an adaptive control scheme. Adaptive control systems allow for an existing control system to self-tune its performance for unknown variables i.e. when an environment changes. In this thesis a LQR error state control system is derived and shown to maintain a magnitude of 15 cm of steady state error from the center-line of the road. In addition a proposed LQR-MRAC controller is used to test the robustness of a lane-keeping control system. The LQR-MRAC controller was able to improve its transient response peak error from the center-line of the road of the tractor and the trailer by 9.47 [cm] and 7.27 [cm]. The LQR-MRAC controller increased tractor steady state error by 0.4 [cm] and decreased trailer steady state error by 1 [cm]. The LQR-MRAC controller was able to outperform modern control techniques and can be used to improve the response of the tractor-trailer system to handle mass changes in its environment.

Обоснование параметров автопоезда с активным приводом ходовых колёс прицепа : магистерская диссертация / Grounding of the parameters of a road train with an active drive of the trailer wheels

Азев, М. В., Azev, M. V. January 2020 (has links)
The growth of transportation by road trains is significantly constrained by their low off-road opportunities and enables to use in areas with a small network of improved roads. There are a lot of ways to improve efficient using road trains in difficult road conditions. However, the most efficient way is transfer torque from truck to trailer wheels which will active in this situation. Author considered the issues of improve off-road opportunities road trains and also constructed a mechanical active drive of the trailer wheels.

Nomad Cities : Investigating spatial practices within the fluid network societies of the American RV community

Landin, Karl January 2015 (has links)
A new nomad society is colonizing the desert landscape of the American Southwest. It is a leaderless seasonal swarm, dispersed but densely connected socially, able to form and disband agile urban communities the size of large American cities. It consists of highway bound leisure hunters driving extremely wasteful vehicles that while parked are able form a dense and resilient pioneer society. They are predominantly retired and constructing a new American dream, an informal utopia created from potlucks, social media, satellite dishes and mobile homes. This frontier society of urban flexibilization, decentralization and total urbanization is a product of the complexity and uncertainties of cities being amplified by technological and social disruption, climate change and economic crises. In a mobile future, informal and temporary uses will be important drivers of development and the urban periphery a breeding ground for new forms of urbanism. How do we govern, plan for and understand this development? The nomad cities are poorly documented and understood, especially in academia. With this thesis I aim to change that. I have conducted extensive field studies, including both quantitative mapping and semi-structured qualitative interviews. The data has been analyzed using a theoretical framework consisting of network theory of Castells, spatial analysis ideas of Lefebvre, Venturi, Friedman, Deleuze and Guattari, and social theories of Bourdieu, Foucault and Standing among others. The basic building block of the nomad city are recreational vehicles (RVs); trailers, motorhomes and camper vans. The RV is in itself a hybrid phenomenon that embodies conflicting ideals of the American society: total freedom of movement, the reinvention of the self on the frontier and the American dream. It is both individualistic and community based, and it’s urban forms are highly adaptable to societal changes, mirroring society’s development as well as the changing landscape it inhabits. It recreates itself and revises its citizens’ common habitus with every iteration. The RV world contains multiple layers of meaning for our increasingly urbanized society. It is a frontier for the expansion of exurbia and a physical manifestations of the network society. It creates small initiatives that create ripple effects and thereby a transformation of the urban fabric. To encourage these practices the role of planning needs to be revised. It should not primarily be to decide what is built but to enable the emerging practices that are there. Instead of presenting a grand plan we should allow a multitude of bottom up processes to lead development. In the words of Cedric Price: “The primary aim of planning is not to specify an ideal state but to open up to new possibilities”.

Schöppel, Jan January 2013 (has links)
The diploma thesis Contemporary Czech film trailer and its role in the promotion of the film in the context of foreign production deals with the film trailer. The first part deals with the development of the film trailer abroad, particularly in the United States of America. It describes every single time period up to the present day and outlines the future trends in its development. The second part comprehensively analyzes all components of cinematic trailer. It describes the process of making movie trailers, classifies it in the film marketing communication mix and examines its role in the film promotion. It refers to manipulative function of trailer and deals with its control. Finally, describes the process of distribution trailer and shows the various distribution channels. All of these issues compare the situation in the U.S. and the Czech Republic. The final section focuses on the Czech film trailer. First, it maps its history from the beginning to the present. Then it puts these findings into the context of the Czech film history and the history of the Czech movie promotion. Further thesis will focus on the current situation in the Czech trailer. Analyzes it from the perspective of film critics and trailer makers and presents all factors influencing the form of trailers. In conclusion, the...
